CALIFORNIA – […] At a news conference announcing murder charges against Jose Villagomez and undocumented immigrant Victor Martinez, Santa Maria Police Chief Ralph Martin decried two state laws and also national immigration policy he says have handcuffed local law enforcement.

“I think this is a national issue,” said Chief Martin. “I think it starts in Washington D.C. with this administration that we see and their policies. I think you can draw a direct line over to Sacramento with the policies of… I’m going to say this governor and the legislature.”
“We’ve seen AB 109 pass. We’ve seen Prop 47 pass. And I am not remiss to say that, from Washington D.C. to Sacramento, there is a blood trail into the bedroom of Marilyn Pharis.” (more…)
SEATTLE – Activists with Black Lives Matter protests halted a political rally in Seattle where Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was scheduled to speak on Saturday afternoon.

…”Sanders stood by silently the entire time. Eventually, organizers decided to end the event and the Vermont senator did not return to the microphone”….
“We’re shutting this event down — now,” said an activist who suddenly leapt on stage. She approached the microphone where Sanders had just begun speaking, thanking attendees for welcoming him to “one of most progressive cities in the United States of America.” An event organizer attempted to stop the activist, and a heated exchange ensued as the crowd booed. In the era of Caitlyn, pop culture releases the hounds of cultural marxism…
(Via Bloomberg) Target Corp. is removing gender labels from most of its children’s departments after customers complained about signs designating certain toys for girls.
The kids’ bedding section will no longer feature boy and girl signage, and the toy department will be without labels and pink or blue paper on the shelves, Minneapolis-based Target said on its website Friday. Gender labels will remain in the kids’ clothing section because of sizing and fit differences.
Retailers have been moving away from gender stereotypes, and some startups have emerged to break down the divide in kids’ clothing and toys. The signage that sparked the dispute at Target was for building sets, like GoldieBlox, that are targeted at girls. (more…)

CALIFORNIA – Starting this fall, students applying to the University of California will have the option to choose among six gender identities listed on undergraduate admissions forms: male, female, trans male, trans female, gender queer/gender non-conforming and different identity.
The identity choices, officials said, are intended to help serve the student body of each campus.
“When a university has better information on their student population, better decisions can be made about allocating the resources to support students,” said Kate Moser, spokeswoman at UC’s office of the president. (read more)
Many people don’t like him, an entire professional apparatus needs to see him removed, because what Donald Trump is doing is the beginning of what needs to be done. Tear down the entire construct of the Professional Political Class in Washington DC….. and people are catching on.
For those who are on the fence; those watching the blood sport of politics for the first time; or those who are unfamiliar with Reagan’s 1978 insurgency, it might seem disconcerting to have a CEO move in and begin to destroy decades of political self interest.
Fear not, and remember – WHAT IS THERE TO LOSE?
Unless the entire construct is torn up, you will have Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush on your ballot choice in November 2016. Hillary because that’s what the Dem’s want, Jeb because that’s what the GOP want – Both because that’s what Wall Street wants.
As a consequence, while you are sitting in the coliseum observing the bludgeoning, comfort yourself in the knowledge there’s nothing to lose here. There is no downside.
If Trump and the Trumpeters are unsuccessful – you’ve still got Hillary and Jeb to vote for, which is the exact same outcome you would have if the wrecking never began. (more…)

There’s still a better than 50/50 possibility Michael Slager will be acquitted because the prosecutor is only charging capital murder.

SOUTH CAROLINA – A judge will consider granting bail during an Aug. 27 hearing for the former North Charleston police officer charged with murder in Walter Scott’s shooting death.
Circuit Judge Clifton Newman will preside over the 10 a.m. bond hearing at the Charleston County Judicial Center at Broad and Meeting streets, prosecutors and attorneys involved with the case said Thursday. (more…)
Reverse the races and this would be playing 24/7 on CNN. However, specifically because it does not fit the preferred media narrative, it’s doubtful this story will reach a single national news broadcast.
Update GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) – Grand Rapids police say they have arrested five people for their roles in an assault captured on a cell phone video July 28. Most readers here are familiar with the set-up; Marilyn Mosby and Angela Corey followed the same plan. Unfortunately most of those who rely on the MSM will be unaware the extent of the prosecutor railroading.

This new motion by the defense reveals a few new aspects:
#1) The prosecutor in charge of the case, Janice Bledsoe (also partner of WBAL-TV reporter) was the defense attorney for Freddie Gray in a prior case.
#2) Bledsoe told police in this case, not to investigate the evidence that Gray ‘intentionally injured himself’.
#3) Bledsoe also did not tell the Medical Examiner, that witness Donta Allen heard Gray trying to injure himself.
BALTIMORE – The police detectives who investigated the death of Freddie Gray were told that he had a history of participating in “crash-for-cash” schemes — injuring himself in law enforcement settings to collect settlements — but were advised by a state prosecutor not to pursue the information, according to defense attorneys for the six officers charged in Gray’s arrest and death. Posted without much comment. Maybe I’ll update or expand tomorrow with thoughts, after lowered blood pressure, maybe not. Believe me, there’s no comfort -NONE- in knowing you are right, and having it proven over time, when the outcomes are ultimately choices between the lesser of two losing propositions.
