In the final analysis the intellectually honest observer would admit the GOP and the Democrats are generally aligned in favor of government control of Healthcare and Immigration, ie. amnesty.

In a recent New York Times article titled “Chastened G.O.P. Tries to Foil Insurgents at Primary Level” you find a typical narrative; Tea Party is EXTREME and GOP is moderate. Searching for an outlier to use as representative Tea Party imagery the Times select Virginian whacko Richard H Black to broad stroke conservatives, while framing ‘moderation’ as the best political course.

Nothing is more annoying than the constant drumbeat to connect outliers in the Alinsky-ization of grass roots concern. Isolate, Ridicule and Marginalize. Then wash, rinse, repeat.

What the GOP fear more than defeat against democrats is losing internal power over Big Business and Big Government. Establishment class Republicans, like those found inside the rolls of the Chamber of Commerce, will fight for their own power hungry ideology with a desperate intent.

Previously John McCain was angered when it was pointed out “his people” (the rebels in Syria) were actual kidnappers.   Now he embarrasses himself to the extent Lindsey Graham needs to apologize for McCain’s angry and petulant behavior.

WASHINGTON DC – Hell-bent on arming opposition forces in Syria—despite strong evidence that they’re run by Islamic terrorists—John McCain displayed behavior unbecoming of a United States Senator during a recent meeting with Syrian Christian leaders touring Capitol Hill.

The delegation of Syrian clergy came to Washington to raise awareness among lawmakers of the growing crisis among the region’s minority Christian community. Christians make up about 10% of the Syrian population and they are being targeted and ruthlessly murdered by radical elements of the rebel forces, according to the visiting church officials. There is not an organism alive on the planet which, given all possible conveniences, will not consume every single resource immediately in front of it.  Period.

Put a bacteria into a petri dish of broth and the bacteria will continue to grow until every ounce of energetic expansion resource (broth) is consumed.

Put an endless bowl of consistently good tasting food/treats on the floor and every cat and/or dog in your home will grow fat.

Put an endless supply of continually fresh and great tasting food in front of a person and they will grow fat.

It is the inherent state of unbridled biology, within every single organism, that all resources will be consumed unless they have cognitive and spiritual connection to virtue. (more…)

(Via Breitbart)  Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced Friday that throughout 2013 his three campaign arms raised $4.16 million.

Cruz made the massive haul over 2013 through his re-election committee, Ted Cruz for Senate, his joint fundraising committee, Ted Cruz Victory Committee, and his leadership PAC, the Jobs, Growth & Freedom Fund.

About $1.5 million of this fundraising happened in the fourth quarter of 2013. This began during the government shutdown caused by Democrats’ and President Obama’s refusal to compromise on Obamacare after Cruz’s stand, with Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) at his side, against the unpopular healthcare law. Conventional wisdom inside the beltway was that Americans disapproved of Cruz’s and Lee’s tactics, but these fundraising details are yet another indicator that ordinary Americans craved someone who would stand up against Obamacare on their behalf.   (read more)

(Volokh Conspiracy Blog – Via Washington Post)  There was a small furor yesterday over an MSNBC staffer’s intolerant views of conservatives and the political right. Erik Wemple at the Post published MSNBC’s apology, which announces that a staffer was fired. You can also follow the dispute at New York Magazine, Reason, Michele Malkin, Instapundit, and Gateway Pundit (which captured the fullest screenshot of the now-scrubbed tweet).

My interest today is not in what happened or in the responses of MSNBC and the people it insulted, but rather in the substance of the claim: that people on the right side of the political spectrum would be opposed to mixed-race families including an adopted child.  This follows a somewhat similar MSNBC kerfuffle over jokes implying that an African-American grandchild was somehow out of place in a Romney family photo.

I thought perhaps a little academic light might clear up some of the press’s ignorance about adopted and step-families in America (the Romney case). (more…)

I read this yesterday and hoped it was spoof.   No, really, I’m serious; I was hoping this was a joke – because absent of it being a joke the profound STUPIDITY is beyond comprehension.

School staff walked up to the kids who had, according to them, negative balances in their school lunch accounts, and took the lunches off their tables and threw them in the garbage.   Yes, this actually happened.   The adults took lunches from 40 kids in school, in front of the other kids, and threw them in the garbage.   < —-  Think about it.

SALT LAKE, UTAH – Up to 40 kids at Uintah Elementary in Salt Lake City picked up their lunches Tuesday, then watched as the meals were taken and thrown away because of outstanding balances on their accounts — a move that shocked and angered parents.

“It was pretty traumatic and humiliating,” said Erica Lukes, whose 11-year-old daughter had her cafeteria lunch taken from her as she stood in line Tuesday at Uintah Elementary School, 1571 E. 1300 South. (more…)

(Via SCF) There is no Senate race in the country that is more important than the Republican primary election in Kentucky between Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and conservative businessman Matt Bevin (R-KY).

The outcome of the Republican primary in Kentucky will determine the direction of the Republican Party for years to come.

If Mitch McConnell wins, the party will continue to drift away from its conservative principles and become increasingly hostile to the grassroots. But if Matt Bevin wins, the establishment’s stranglehold over the party will be broken and power will be restored to the people who elect these politicians.
