Happy Birthday Yatz!

Today we wish the best of days to our own “ytz4mee”… blogger, warrior, and mighty voice for conservative principles. Yatz is a woman on the go, and you never know from where she may be popping in from time to time as she swings by and grabs a limb on the Tree. She has inexhaustible energy,  and passionately gives voice to the principles we all hold so near and dear. Today, we hope she’ll pause in the pursuits of  battle,  settle down under the Tree,  and join us for some coffee, a bit of peameal bacon, and a generous helping of cake as we join in celebration of her birthday. (I’ll bet someone might even stop in with a Silver Bullet or two and a bottle of Jack a little later in the day, just to keep things going.)

Yatz not only contributes to the Treehouse, she also maintains her own blog, “Stop Shouting”, where she has earned high praise from Prof.  Jacobsen,  and was the recipient of the much coveted “Instalanche” for her article,  “My Rebuttal to a Progressive who Admonished Me to Play Nice ….”.  I think in light of the latest election results, her article deserves to be revisited.  Please, pour yourself another cup of morning coffee, and enjoy…..  (more…)

Jeepers Treepers….FIVE MILLION PEEPERS!

Treepers…please join with us in celebrating a most momentous occasion. We couldn’t have done it without YOU!

Would you like to see where in the world all the visitors to the Treehouse come from?  LOL…we’ve even got a lone “Wolverine” in Cuba!  (Somehow they’re breaking through the internet ban.  How cool is that?)  WordPress started offering this feature last February, so naturally it registers a little short of the five million mark.  We’ll be celebrating our second anniversary on November 2nd, so if any of y’all are thinking of sending a gift, feel free to combine this year’s traditional gift of cotton with last year’s paper…$  😉

¡VAMANOS WOLVERINES!

The Official “Texan59″ Birthday Thread…“Hook ’em Horns!”

H/T….to the world’s best research assistant, WeeWeed.  😉

Birthday shout-outs and high fives to our longtime compatriot, the respected and beloved citizen of both Texas and the Treehouse…”Texan59″. 😀

Tex has been hanging around the Treehouse for so long, we can’t imagine what life would be like without him.  Well…on second thought, we can imagine…B-O-R-I-N-G.  He’s the life of our party and a consummate raconteur par excellence.  You’ll usually find him conversing with one of our admins, another proud Texan called WeeWeed.

Two of the things we most admire about Tex are his affinity for Fridays and Bud Light beer, and the other would be his undying loyalty to the “Treehouse Tin Foil Society”.  That’s right….he’s all tin foil hat, and he’s got the cattle that wear ’em too.   (more…)

Happy Birthday WeeWeed!

Today is a very special day – the birthday of one of our best and most faithful friends, WeeWeed! (more…)

BTW…How about helping a Puddy out?  (The glasses are not a good look for me.)  Hopefully, as you scan the gravatars above, some of you will become interested in getting a gravatar of your own.  Waltzingmtilda has all the information you’ll need.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FAVORITE CRACKER!

When we tumbled onto the forest trail almost 18 months ago Sundance was high in the canopy overhead, already hard at work on the Treehouse–knowing that a great gathering place would be needed for stouthearted Americans who hungered for plainspoken and open-ended conversation.
In the months since then, his faithful and daily pursuit of what-is-actually-so has become the rich soil in which freedom-lovers of goodwill find a place to expose deception and  fight back effectively.

It's May 27th…Do You Know What That Means?

*Thank you to our Menagerie for her assistance in writing much of the following.
Today we celebrate the birthday of one of our founding Treepers, Stellap.  Were it not for her steadfast and resourceful efforts to rally and unite our initial group, we would very likely not be the site you see today.  Since that time, her contributions have been truly invaluable…not the least of which is her ability to dissect and dismember the occasional visitor seeking only to press their agenda.
Stellap is also a wonderful example and ambassador for her home state of Michigan, helping us understand some of the behind-the-scenes issues regarding the auto industry.  She knows her cars…especially GM cars.
When she’s not sitting behind a keyboard, you’ll most likely find her tending a garden full of flowers. Her writings and pictures have helped us make it through some of the worst of the cold weather and leap into spring with joy. A day in the yard working with her flowers pays big dividends for us as she paints a wonderful picture with her love for the beauty of the outdoors.
Just out of nowhere, you already have doors but they just don’t work right? Doors that don’t close or latch properly or that fit an opening poorly can be frustrating. Over the past ten years, the bifold doors have become very popular door options. The traditional conservatory door or patio door has always served as the alternative for French door – single door system. I mean, there are countless advantages of bifold doors.
But a day overseeing the shenanigans going on in the Tree, enjoying the beauty of her native Michigan, or working with her flowers is not complete until it’s topped off with a good book and a glass of wine.  Today we raise a toast to Stellap…a fine friend and a founding Treeper.

May you live all the days of your life.

The Last Refuge Celebrates – 2,000,000 Visitors!

The Last Refuge – officially, The Conservative Treehouse – celebrated its first anniversary on February 1, 2012.  Now it’s time for another celebration (and we love celebrations) as we welcome our 2,000,000th visitor today!  At 6:10 PM EST!

The Tree has been approached over two million times, tapped for information, moved into for refuge and signed up for learning.
Two million times someone has said, “Self, let’s check out the Treehouse and see what’s up.”
Two million times someone perhaps said, “I saw that link—wonder what they’re up to….”  (more…)

O-Tanjoubi Omadetou Zophiel-San! ^_^

“Soul Eater” theme birthday cake.

Ohayo Minna!  Today the Treehouse celebrates the birthday of another admin…“zmalfoy”, or Zophiel as she is known to her friends amongst the branches.  Her gravatar lists an impressive array of talents:  vocal performance, bellydance, alchemy, theology, and survival skills.  If she had more room, she could have also included interests in geology, physics, the skills of a Starbuck’s Barista par excellence, and the uncanny ability to always get an “A”.  Yep, she’s even smarter than Sarah Palin’s favorite red shoes!

“In battle, her determination knows no bounds, and she faces an enemy no matter how strong they are.”

One of the most interesting aspects of Zophie is her knowledge of all things relating to Japanese Anime (the abbreviated pronunciation of animation).  It’s a style of animation originating in Japan, characterized by colorful graphics and often featuring themes intended for an adult audience.   Zophie’s gravatar is the young “meister” or craftsman named Maka Albarn, who’s one of the lead characters in the Japanese manga (cartoon) called “Soul Eater”.  The story revolves around three teams consisting of a weapon meister and (at least one) human weapon. Trying to make the latter a “death scythe” and thus fit for use by the academy’s headmaster Shinigami, the personification of death, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch, in that order; otherwise, they will have to start all over again.
