Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has recently promoted an expansive LNG pipeline deal to center the domestic infrastructure development around the concept of “Buy Canadian.” However, when questioned about the actual construction of the proposal, Carney now admits the developers will determine what resources will be used – and it will not be Canadian product.
The unfortunate reason is not complicated. Canada does not have the industrial capacity to make the heavy components for the LNG expansion pipeline because Canada does not have the ability.

CALGARY — LNG Canada is planning to use Chinese steel in major components of its $33-billion second-phase expansion despite Ottawa’s promises that nationally significant projects would help drive Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Buy Canadian policy.
The joint venture says Canada lacks the specialized fabrication facilities needed to manufacture the massive modules required for its expansion and plans to buy more components from state-owned China Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd. (COOEC), which manufactured modules for the project’s first phase. (read more)
I would remind readers this inability to manufacture industrial goods is exactly what former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau outlined to President Trump in December 2025 in Mar-a-Lago, when President Trump challenged Trudeau to stop importing Chinese steel and aluminum. Canada’s clean energy policy blocks the country from creating heavy industrial components. WATCH:
.
All of the political talking points from Mark Carney are built upon a foundation of lies. Their national inability is inherent in the Canadian industrial economy, which is created around a climate change agenda that blocks industrial manufacturing.
Eventually, this reality is going to hit the psyche of the Canadian electorate. It will not be easy for them to accept that all of their leadership has been lying to them. However, denial is a very real issue which makes conversation with any Canadian very challenging.
LNG Canada says its overseas purchasing reflects a gap in Canadian manufacturing capacity.
“For the plant construction in Kitimat, the challenge is not a preference for offshore steel, but the specialized fabrication capability required for modules of this scale and complexity,” company spokesperson Paul Hagel told CBC News in an email, adding that “there are no fabrication yards in Canada that can manufacture and deliver the additional modules required for Phase 2.”
Hagel said that only five fabrication yards worldwide have the necessary combination of space, capacity, quality systems and marine access, including COOEC’s yard in China. {source}

Elbows up and lips puckered ,GET READY TO KISS THAT DIRTY CHINESE ASS, CARNEY AND THE CHINESE WILL DESTROY CANADA. CANADA CHUMPS AND MORONS.
Elbows up – sound the armpit trumpets for the King’s Prime Minstrel.
I just watched this video by Northern Perspective about this very subject. They are coming down on Carney hard, not mincing their words now. This seems to be part of the “wakening process” starting in Canada. Could be happening — maybe.
Would like to read about how the Western Provinces in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin are handling this national direction that threatens their future. Such a major divide between Western Canada and the Eastern provinces.
“Canada’s clean energy policy blocks the country from creating heavy industrial components.”
To me, this is the buried lead in the story.
lede
so kann man es auch sagen
To “bury the lede” means to fail to highlight the most important or newsworthy part of a story at the beginning, instead hiding it deep within minor or distracting details.
Fixed it to a T
The unfortunate Treason is not complicated. Canada does not have the industrial capacity to make the heavy components“
“Eventually, this reality is going to hit the psyche of the Canadian electorate. It will not be easy for them to accept that all of their leadership has been lying to them.”
It was not easy for the American electorate to accept this reality either.
Still isn’t.
There was never any need. The 45th and 47th administrations have been the most transparent in the nation’s history, excepting maybe George Washington’s. The US and the Koreans have announced an LNG pipeline from the orth slope to anchiorge bay and an LNG plant twice the size any Canada could possibly build in a decade, unless they fire Carnage today. Asia will be inundated with Alaskan LNG long before Carnage the Climatologist gets done negotiating with the Ojibwe to buy a right of way across BC.
This reminds me of the H.G. Wells fantasy novel “The Time Machine” and the Eloi (living a carefree life of sunny days, abundant free food and leisure in a garden setting) subservient to the Morlocks (underground creatures running the machinery and doing the grunt work that kept them alive).
Periodically, the sirens would go off and the Eloi walked in trance into the tunnels to be consumed. Some re-emerged to reproduce and continue the cycle never ending.
Gee, where have we see that before?
The DNC?
I predict many Canadians will become familiar with the term “structural failure.”
Someone should ask Carney why it’s so important to give up manufacturing capacity at home while that same capacity remains in a foreign country. And now, if Canada wants to continue living in the modern world, they have to pay that foreign country to supply them with manufactured goods. How does this translate to a secure and successful future for Canada?
It doesn’t. It translates into enormous profits for a handful of greedy psychopaths. That’s globalism 101. That’s why a central banker like Carney is leading Canada now. They need to stay on-track to keep those profits rolling in for the WEF psychos.
Like England, Canada is now in the grip of a revolving-door leadership that changes frequently without elections, as one mediocrity does his national damage before being replaced by another. And another.
Doubtless, some of these rats have told themselves that they are actually heroes. But it’s amazing the constructs a human mind can erect, rather than admit their initial mistake and tell the world they were swindled by a flattering groupthink.
And there is the reason Carney blew up the trade deal in the last minute before signing. He had this China steel deal all ready wrapped up and the trade deal with the US said no backdoor trading with China. Canada can suck it
Bingo!
💯 🎯
does the US have the capabilities to help build this project ?? and why did they go staight to the chinese option when there were 4 others ?? (rhetorical)
Elbozos up!
GLWT (good luck with that)… Chinese manufacturing/products are of very low quality.
The steel will be manufactured… how is the climate saved if the Chinese make the steel, rather than the Canucks? Trudeau and Carney put the duh in Canaduh.
Exactly!
wull Canadians be employed at all for this project?
“Will Canadians be employed at all for this project?”
The ones who speak Chinese, possibly.
Watch the podcast listed above. Northern perspective They won’t let Canadian construction folks work it
Thanks to Justin (Fidelito) Trudeau and the traitor Carney, the Canadians can kiss their economy goodbye.
“Buy Canada” is just what it means.
China will buy Canada, and it will be done one yuan at a time.
No more toonies for you.
My generation the boomers will be the most hated generation
Carney, Trudope, and Freeland are not boomers
FILTHY LIBERALS
THIS IS LNG “CANADA” -100% FOREIGN OWNED.
Shell (through Shell Canada Energy): 40%PETRONAS (Malaysia, through North Montney LNG Limited Partnership): 25%PetroChina (China, through PetroChina Canada Ltd.): 15%Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan, through Diamond LNG Canada Partnership): 15%Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) (South Korea, through Kogas Canada LNG Ltd): 5% [1, 2]ITS WORSE
After repeated warnings to keep Chinese Communist Steel from Canada, FILTHY LIBERALS rolled out the red carpet.
Carney allowed 49,000 Communist electric cars into Canada
CHINA hasn’t spent a cent on charging stations but bring them in. we don’t make or sell 50000 electric cars.
PLEASE CRUSH US
Stelco just announced 500 layoffs in Canada.
THIS IS LIBERAL WINNING
ELBOZOZ
Cheap Chinese steel? There is a reason Chines steel is cheap – it is crap. OH Canada!
So nice to watch liberals destroy themselves, because liberalism always fails, they cut their own throats with all the pretending, the real blame falls on the Canadian people, who people claim are ‘good’ people, they voted for this crap, what kind of moron votes for this.
LIberals will burn the country down so they can rule over the ashes. Their power is all that matters.
What’s not said is the Canadian government won’t do anything to upgrade Canadian industry to meet the challenge. I should think with projects in the billions of dollars, one would set up shop to make the assemblies in Canada with North American steel.
Instead, the government issued a waiver on the import duties normally applied to Chinese steel, while in a trade agreement with the USA, that allows China to dump steel into Canada for the project.
Trump is so right about these snakes.
Carney shelf life is about to get really short
Make it make sense: Canada is purchasing Chinese steel because CO2 emissions restrictions prohibit them from manufacturing the steel that is needed to sell (and use) the CO2 emitting LNG?
It doesn’t have to make sense.
Modern morons accept anything.
Covid circles.
Joe Biden.
Kumala Harris.
AOC.
Talifreako.
On and on.
I get the point here, but there are only 5 places in the world that the capacity to do this.
The US is the best and they aren’t 4000 miles away. But get those elbows up!
I truly feel sorry for the commoners in Canada.
They do not matter to the elites around Carney.
And this of course has been true throughout oligarchical history.
The little ones (if they are not attentive) pay all the price.
When a true uprising of Canada people occurs, that country will be awesome.
Huge. Mineral rich.
And speak English….which means they can commerce with all the rest of the world.
They just have to get rid of the British Crown and CCCP control.
I don’t. They deserve what they voted for. Good and hard.
Chinada is joining their euroweenies to become dependent on China. Imagine how that will end up. The group think of the coalition is fantasizing that China will be a good partner. I’m beginning to question their intelligence.
Canadian steel production is foreign-owned. Cleveland-Cliffs is laying off at its Hamiton, ON works due to US tariffs on Canadian exports which is a major part of their business. Canadian steel is also having to manage major capital expenditures for the government mandated transition from blast furnace – basic oxygen conversion to direct reduced iron – electric arc.
Much of Canadian steel is used either in automotive or construction sectors. I don’t think Canada can be competitive for these large fabrication jobs. Obviously if the LNG plant were fabbed in the US it wouldn’t use Canadian steel. I don’t know what import duty China imposes, but suspect using Canadian steel for Chinese fab is not feasible cost-wise.
Likewise while Canada wants to compete with the US as an LNG exporter, the actual facility is foreign-owned. And Shell, while nominally British after moving its headquarters from Netherlands due to Dutch climate change policy, is really a US company.
Mark Carney. Honk, honk!
Don’t look now, but Canadian entities are pretty much in control of forest products in the US.
Canadians own vertically integrated oligopolies that include timberland, timber harvesting, and lumber and paper mills. Independent logging companies are being squeezed by the poor availability for placement of the timber they are cutting.
Loggers are currently cutting timber on my family’s land. The timber deed I signed is for lower prices per category than the bottom bids when I signed to cut in 2020. Our reforestation plan does not include a pine replanting because the margin is not there.
Timber is this mostly rural county’s largest agricultural cash crop — not cattle, not row crops.
My company dealt with Chinese competitors for the last few decades. They copied our products directly and they had utterly terrible metallurgy, absolute garbage steel. I further tested Chinese made electronic safety products that already had CSA approvals. They were all junk quality, even after many revisions! So, to hear Canada will use Chinese steel in their pipelines, to me, that is accepting failures and shortened working life of the pipeline, probably 1/4 or 1/2 of it’s design life.
Good luck to Canada. They will need it.
@Sundance
Fyi: Every Friday afternoon the Canadian agriculture weekly roundup is on channel 143 SXM Radio. These folks are pushing Carney propaganda in the US.
They are also on weekdays.
“Churchill Falls: The largest clean energy investment in North American history.”
Nothing like a good clean energy investment!
Notice they didn’t say the largest clean energy project but largest investment. Investment is where the Globalist banksters get their skim.
Chinese steel! During the recent earthquake in Bangkok, the only building of substance to fall was a nearly completed government tower built with substandard Chinese steel. YouTube has many videos showing Chinese ‘Tofu dreg construction’ where workers take a 1 1/2″ steel rebar and break it by banging it against a hard surface. How desperate the European Globalists have become because the American Globalists refuse to continue supporting their war on Russia and they are mad. Cutting off one’s nose to spite their face comes to mind. It doesn’t matter because the Greens will never allow the pipeline to be completed.
And we are seeing in real time what Trump is reversing by his philosophy of “buy American”…if today’s conditions existed in 1939, there’s a good chance that we’d be speaking German.
●LNG Canada (entirely owned by foreign investors)
●Construction completion expected in the early 2030s (if ever)
●Elbows up, boomers!
