There has to be a purpose to this messaging, though I’m not exactly sure what it is.
President Trump again draws attention to the Ukraine-Russia war creating havoc on the global diesel market. Trump notes that Russia has lost control of its diesel industry:
[source]
The strange thing about this message is that Russia has taken measures exactly the opposite of this framework.
Back in July, when NATO began increased targeting of Russian refinery infrastructure, Russian President Vladimir Putin proactively signed a government order banning the export of Russian diesel fuel. There have been no exports of Russian diesel since, with exceptions to the shipping industry and some humanitarian farm shipments.
Russia is the world’s second largest producer of diesel fuel and as soon as Putin made this announcement global prices of diesel began to rise. Russia then extended the bans, and the current export ban will run from Aug. 1 until Jan. 31, 2027.
Within the export controls there’s no doubt Russia is sending some diesel fuel to allied nations who are not part of the NATO attack alliance. In essence, Putin is controlling who gets the Russian output and the “ban” on exports simply puts the Russian government in control of it. This is what they call “intergovernmental agreements” which are not part of the ban itself.
Something about the western messaging on this issue just isn’t making sense.
Summary. Russia’s positon:
- Ban Duration: July 8, 2026 – January 31, 2027
- Products Affected: Diesel, gasoline, marine fuel, gas oils
- Exemptions: Direct producers, humanitarian shipments, intergovernmental agreements
- Reason: Domestic fuel shortages, refinery disruptions, price stabilization
- Global Impact: Reduced diesel supply, higher international prices, market tightening
The ban reflects Russia’s strategy to prioritize domestic fuel security while cautiously allowing limited exports to mitigate economic and geopolitical pressures.
.
President Trump would not be messaging against Russia’s interests. There’s an element to this narrative that we cannot yet fully identify.
I suspect President Trump is messaging this issue because he is specifically positioning the USA for an export ban on diesel fuel. All of our “allied” downstream dependents would immediately be in freak out mode if the USA did this. So, President Trump has to enhance the position that diesel is increasingly a national security interest right now.
That’s how the issue reconciles.
President Trump putting an export ban on U.S. diesel would be intensely damaging to Europe, specifically the EU-NATO group. However, that same U.S. ban on exports would increase the pressure on Europe to support a solution to the conflict.

An easy way to expand Americas Diesel fuel pool is to temporarily pull back the 15 ppm sulfur requirement on ULSD which will expand the pool by 10-15 percent and then stop exports.
I ran Red Diesel in everything for 25 years.
Better yet, get rid of the low sulfur B.S. for good
A good solution but given the technology on emissions control today, check engine lights will be glowing and many diesel engines would go into limp mode.
First, President Trump asks Ukraine to stop targeting Russian refineries. Now he is practically blaming Russia for losing control. Very uncharacteristic of him, not speaking from a position of leverage. This is not going in the right direction.
Take your pessimist Crap elsewhere…. sometimes you let the enemies reveal themselves… and that is exactly what he’s done.
it’s far better to let people just think you might be stupid than to give them ammunition to prove it.
That added so much to the discussion…. All you anti Trumpers can go to CNN, MSNOW and post your drivel over there where the trolls will eat it up. We don’t need your assumptions and stupid Riddles here…. You’re either with us , or against us…. and if you’re against us then F*ck off.
Consider yourself warned….
Thank You Ad rem
Thank you! More and more of the insults, etc. have been showing up – when there are no flags to mark them.
American’s have become way too sensitive, “Safe Spaces” are imprisonment of the mind.

That’s a liberal retards mindset to control speech.
If you don’t like what was said, use your intelligence and refute it.
Those that want to control other peoples freedom of speech typically have less intelligence and because they can’t argue the points so they have to resort to try to shut them down.
Just a thought you should consider.
I’m aerospace engineer by trade…. I guess that requires low intelligence? Maybe I’m just tired of people who aren’t with US…. and by US I mean America.
The group-think force is strong with this one.
Some are educated way beyond their intelligence.
I remember reading the same thing and I thought it was here that I read it. The only places I go to for information is The Conservative Treehouse, Promethean Action and EPOCH TIMES.
Pessimistic? Most American’s cannot afford Food, Housing, Medical Care or GAS! America has fallen because Trump is working for Yahu instead of the American people. How many Trump Clot Shots did you take?
34 upvotes for this absolute nonsense……….

I personally enjoy reading comments here for this reason.
Just to be clear, those currently denigrating others thoughts, it sure seems that you are asking us to self-censor. If so, then this website has sadly lost its appeal.
did you even read the article or are you just here pecking away with your thumbs trying to impress people with your lack of knowledge?
I don’t see where President Trump is blaming Russia. It seems clear to me he is blaming the war.
Yes–it’s an anti-War talking point.
And the logic of it argues for an export ban on American diesel since ‘Russian diesel is out of control’, further pressuring Europe to Stop the Madness.
I think he’s just using the Russians as a straw man to block the export of diesel.
Is this to lower the price or is this to put the screws to the EU.
Perhaps both?
Your literal interpretation, is at odds with Sundance’s explanation that PDJT’s message seems to be strategic. Trump’s comment is simply to set up his next move.
Obviously
I remember reading the same thing and I thought it was here that I read it?
5-D Chess
Just wait and see what happens
Lol! Just wait until there is no food in the grocery stores, no gas at the pump and you can’t leave your house without the distinct possibility of getting attacked. Sending Billions to kill tens of thousands of children and Christians will not have a good outcome for America or those who support it, the Most High God is watching.
Another 34 votes for this. Sorry, I don’t believe the intelligent people who read what Sundance says can believe this either.
Trump has destroyed America, he has lost control of his faculties and turned our country over to Yahu.
…from what we know, so far…
Did you read what Sundance just wrote? I am guessing you did not.
I am posting this question multiple times per day. What the hell is wrong with these people, read the damn article and you will find your answer.
Trump told Z not to target diesel.
NATO and Z targeted diesel.
And Trump says this?
No anger at Z.
No anger at NATO targeting American midterms.
MAKE THEM SUFFER!
Amen brother ! Winter is coming the euro-dimwits need a valuable lesson and DJT is about to give it
Oh, but don’t you want the 5000 dollars that Trump will give you if you vote Republican so they can keep their control over the House, Senate, Presidency and SCOTUS? I am certain that we will really get that promised money, just like the DOGE and the Tariff Money we got, just like Trump Promised, oh wait…
I completely understand the acute pain Americans are suffering at the pump, and at the grocery store. To this I will add: The “Greatest Generation” endured much more hardship for a much longer period to ensure we achieved victory in WWII with much less whining and complaining.
you definitely have a point, though there are a LOT of other mitigating factors this time:
1-we were promised otherwise
2-normalcy bias does not take long to set in; i’ve heard all this whataboutism regarding the “historical” mortgage interest rate, too, but that doesn’t make it easier to buy a home.
3-we have had 2-3 generations of comfort since that time to create a weak people whose souls are deeply damaged, and i think we all know the “great men make good times…” adage. we are a LONG way from that sense of resilience, unity and cohesion as a culture and society.
4-the slogans aside, this was not even remotely as close to an existential threat as WW2 (and i think there is a lot of plausible debate to be had whether that was, either).
5-war has always been unpopular with americans, and we never got to debate it as a society. in 1941, the people’s representatives declared war and we agreed to send our blood and treasure away to fix a perceived problem. no such thing has occurred this time. if congress is useless and impotent, thats a big problem, but it also means we do NOT AGREE to proceed.
” Muley Bukkey ” – “in 1941, the people’s representatives declared war and we agreed to send our blood and treasure away to fix a perceived problem. ” also Muley : “this was not even remotely as close to an existential threat as WW2 (and i think there is a lot of plausible debate to be had whether that was, either).
Pearl Harbor was only a perceived problem? You neglect to mention both Germany, Japan and Italy declared war on us Dec 11, 1941.
reference: “On December 11, 1941, Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy formally declared war on the United States, four days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Germany declared war first, with Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop delivering the declaration to U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Leland B. Morris; Italy followed suit the same day, and the U.S. declared war on both countries in response.”
Facts matter and getting way out over your skies with ridiculous statements of opinion varying widely from the facts characterizes you. Free country, free speech blog but ridiculous opines in contradiction of history will be ridiculed.
that really was not the point of my post, nor of the article, so apologies it got off track.
what IS relevant, though, is to simply say this: there is ALWAYS a history that exists before the moment that one party to a conflict points to in order to say “see they started it!”
Your post is pure Subterfuge…. that is the point of your post.
6) In the era of the greatest generation, western governments at least appeared to prioritize the well being of their citizens over illegal aliens, oligarchs, and NGOs.
A lot of this would be easier for people my age and younger to stomach if we had any notion that our own government is t going to sell us out the instant it’s advantageous to them.
really good point. i am pretty sure i am a generation younger than most on this board… and perhaps you are a generation younger than me based on your comments…
i cannot imagine watching this play out, from your perspective, the open contempt for our own people, the looting and unapologetic corruption, the abject disinterest in what you want or even keeping you around (abortion and clancy, etc); over dogma formed 50-100 years ago…. and not want to go utterly insane.
many of our founding fathers were in their teens, twenties, thirties when they started slitting throats over far less.
I totally agree with you. I think we “older folks” have to remember that for Gen Z and younger, the f-ed up version of our system is all they have ever known. Many are against “capitalism” because they think the corrupt, crony, captured, manipulated mess we have now is American capitalism.
I tell my own kids–that thing in the 50’s and prior where a family could have 3 or 4 kids, a middle class house and a car on one income–it wasn’t magic. THAT was the American system. We have since so corrupted it as to make it unrecognizable. But we can get it back. Lots and lots of work, but it is completely do-able.
Anyway, I think we need to cut them a bit of slack sometimes and understand where they are coming from.
The greatest generation could have a loving and supportive wife…. That’s why the men were indeed the Greatest generation, our enemies understand that fact…. so they work hand in hand with Democrats (the EU cabal and China via social media platforms) to undermine the Family Unit and the Morale of the men in our society.
absolutely. a key aspect of the degradation of our culture and republic.
It seems like we are shortly arriving at “Peak Weak Men” in the famous quote in G. Michael Hopf’s novel Those Who Remain. I choose to believe that we are seeing the resurgence of Strong men…hopefully in time for the health and persistence of our republic…
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
My advice, for what it’s worth…..
I think you will feel better about what Trump is doing if you understand his larger plan better. Watch the videos at Promethian on Yu Tube, starting with one of the ones that’s a big overview of the Imperial (globalist) system v. the American system.
There are things Trump could do that would produce more immediate results. However, there are 2 problems with that: 1) the next democrat that gets in office could easily undo them and 2) it wouldn’t solve our longer term probems.
Trump is unwinding the Imperial system on a global basis–he is literally changing the world. And he’s doing it remarkably fast, and in a way that cannot be undone by the next guy. Since the start of his second term, he has been moving the necessary chess pieces all over the board, domestically and globally. Once they are in place, results will materialize quickly. As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I’m not trying to be condescending–it is my sincere belief that if you learn a bit more and understand the plan, it will be easier to handle a bit of short term pain for the unbelievable long-term benefits.
Thanks to you, and the other people that responded to my post. I appreciate perspective other people provide.
I understand (I believe) what Trump’s plan is. I voted for him three times because I believe he has a plan, and the means to carry it out.. I also understand that there is no guarantee that it will succeed.
My point still stands that Western governments have absolutely sold their citizens down the river for some time now. The most egregious offense being the blatant favoritism shown to illegal aliens and military-aged male invaders, be it financially, judicially, or culturally. And now these same people are asking the ACTUAL citizens of their countries to shoulder pain for the sake of…. patriotism?
If Western countries were more than economic zones with militaries, then maybe the response would be more patriotic. It’s also natural to be skeptical of long term benefits when short term benefits people have been hoping, praying, and voting for have yet to materialize.
I’ll give any leader grace for the things that out truly out of their control. And I stand by all three of my Trump votes since the most important issue to me has so far, been delivered upon. But should our nation’s borders ever slam open again, my give-a-shitter about shouldering any pain for the sake of our country will be empty.
The Greatest Generation had a common Enemy (Japan and Germany)
A vast majority supported that effort because they understood what is on the table.
Imagine if they had to deal with endless German/Japanese and Italian Protests about the war effort?
That’s what we have today.
Then they brought us Korea and Viet Nam. Which should have been won and over with in a year or 2….nope but they let it linger and fester.
And now we have a bunch of whining morons who want satisfaction Now and could care less about the ramifications of their decisions later.
We could actually go back to the great depression before WWII for the suffering.
What I’m not understanding about diesel and gas production is why President Trump isn’t using the war powers act or an emergency declaration to build domestic production capacity here.
If the US is able to provide all the diesel that the world needs, that does not let us press the EU to stop its aggression. Simply more diesel for everybody is only good in the right context.
He just might, we’ll find out soon.
Won’t mean a thing if we lose the midterms….Soon is running out of time
Adding substantially more refining capacity to what we have now will take another seven to ten years of diligent work before we see it come online. And that is with accelerated regulatory review and approval. We just don’t have the industrial base anymore that is needed to do these things quickly.
.
However?
“President Trump putting an export ban on U.S. diesel would be intensely damaging to Europe, specifically the EU-NATO group.”
“*However*, that same U.S. ban on exports would increase the pressure on Europe to support a solution to the conflict.“
However??
I wonder…the fuel market is not supply and demand (as it should be) but via speculation, stopping diesel exports shows that we have an over-abundance but prices remain high, which could cause a cultural shift to point the finger firmly at the speculators and derail speculation for a more honest market driven pricing. This removes money from the speculators and banks thereby easing costs for fuel, transportation, manufacturing, travel, etc. A manufacturing renaissance. Jobs. Higher pay. Companies still make money. Capital Investments. And on and on.
One can hope.
I’m just thinking here…
Canada has 17 refineries.
Is Canada planning to send more Diesel to the EU as a way to continue supporting the “Coalition of the Willing” and garnering support from our US Congress to support the ongoing Ukraine.
Is Trump baiting Canada to send diesel to the EU as a method of introducing his recent tariffs against those who are ignoring the Russia sanctions (EU?)
Or is Trump trying to get the sanctions removed from Russia and planning to sell Venezuela crude to the EU?
Trump is definitely playing chess, but is ending the Ukraine “war” his only goal.
So many options….and Trumps post just seems to be the opening gambit to something…..but what?
Why are you worried about Canada and the EU….. That is not the topic on hand. The topic on hand is Diesel prices in the USA.
I thought we were discussing the post President Trump made regarding Russia losing control of it’s diesel industry not just pricing in the US, but also the effect on the “Coalition of the Willing” and Ukraine war, which touches on the EU and Canada’s efforts to keep the war in Ukraine going.
we were, please proceed. the price of diesel is impacted by a LOT of factors, not just the ones we want to focus attention on. and you made a good point about yet another factor.
An export ban would certainly help domestic prices and leverage the corrupt Euros into ending their proxy war against Russia. I like to enter winter with the farm diesel tanks full but not at the current price.
What if President Trump placed an export ban on U.S. diesel and in his justification for doing so he were to explain that the purpose of the ban was to lower diesel prices in the U.S.? The effect on Europe would be the same as SD describes, which would not be good for them. Since diesel fuel is a processed finished product and not a raw commodity, why can’t market prices be lower – a lot lower – here in the U.S. than in Europe?
Also, here in the U.S. the Leftist Democrats have been using the higher diesel prices to hammer at PT and all the midterm Republican candidates, but then suddenly he does something to bring those prices down. The Democrats would face losing one of their more effective campaign issues against Republicans and at the same time not be able to complain about it. Because if they do complain about it (their TDS will make it hard for them not to), then the Republicans will be given a campaign issue that the Democrats actually want higher diesel prices, not lower prices. Sounds like it could be a win-win scenario for PT.
We know not what is discussed behind the door!
What we can say is, everything we’re seeing about the euro war is to keep it from becoming a world war caused by the uk and euroturds. ‘Export ban on U.S. diesel would be intensely damaging to europe’, we cannot also say one way or the other that President Trump and president putin have not formulated a plan to force the euroturds/uk to end it, without having to blow them up. Trump, we may have to suspend trade with europe!
Sundance I believe your summation of Trumps move is on target.. Also believe we need to stop all exports to bring our price gouging under control.. Just because the those across the pond are paying thru the nose does not mean we should be subsidizing their foray into capitalism on a socialist pricing arraignment..
“Lost control” is a strange way to preface a US embargo on diesel.
It may be a message to the Russian populus. The reason for diesel shortage in Russia is that refineries are being bombed. It says Russia has “lost control” of its skies. It is a threat, IMHO.
PDJT could have stopped Z from bombing refineries by just telling him, without public tweet. Would Z disobey?
Yes, Z would disobey. He promised PT to stop bombing the refineries, and then a few days later started doing it again. The reason is that Z’s EU/NATO masters ordered him to renege on his promise and he did. Z is in charge of absolutely nothing.
show me where he promised trump.
President Trump announced it a week ago today. It was in the news if you wish to look it up.
yeah i saw that.
what i didnt see is Z saying so.
so its sort of like all trump’s tweets about everyone “begging for a deal” – except their words AND ACTIONS keep saying pretty loudly and consistently that their conditions are the same and they have no interest in “a deal.”
market manipulations do not a “deal” make.
President Trump said he spoke to “Ukraine” and got an “assurance” – a promise – that they would stop striking energy infrastructure in Russia. When the President of the United States calls a foreign country he doesn’t speak to some underling. He speaks to the head of state, so that would be Zelensky making that assurance.
Diesel is, in some ways, a more valuable commodity than gold. Because without diesel, the interconnected world economy slows dramatically and eventually comes to a halt.
We can get by with reduced supplies of gasoline, but not with reduced supplies of diesel. And you can only get so much diesel out of a barrel of crude; it is not that easy to simply shift refinery production from gasoline to diesel.
Yes, Trump is giving the world a living lesson on “green” energy.
The stakes are high!
Do it President Trump. Freeze diesel exports, let that supply be used here to bring down prices and ease inflationary pressures on transporting EVERYTHING in our borders! NATO can shove it..try using all those mandated EV’s to carry your crap!
I still cannot square how DT goes on about how this war should end while at the same time, the US continues to provide weapons, logistics and intel support on Ukraine’s behalf. Is this all for the money? If he truly wanted it to end, I think he could end it.
one might also ask why Putin has not ended the war even though he has long had an overwhelming military advantage. I think both converge.
because he has not achieved his strategic objectives yet.
I have fond that often, President Trump’s announcements are not really meant for the general public, but are designed to target a very particular audience. With that in mind, I listen to what he says, but pay attention to what he does. For example, this post above may specifically be directed at the EU. We’ll see.
concur a thousand times our Trump is a genius teacher trying to guide unruly brats judged by what you do, not say
“There’s an element to this narrative that we cannot yet fully identify.”
Seems clear to me that this is a reminder to the U.S. public that the diesel shortage is not because of the Iranian war, but due to the EU pushed Ukraine-Russia war i.e. it is a problem created by Democrat Biden administration-EU incompetence.
With the Russia ban of diesel exports, and the drastically reduced diesel exports from the Persian Gulf in the last year, PT can justify banning our diesel export. We don’t need to ‘fix’ the worldwide diesel shortage. Keep it in USA and hopefully bring down our diesel prizes which would lower various product costs, such as food, inflation.
Let EU-Canada-UK fix their own diesel problem.. Maybe a few more windmills?
EU is going to have a very cold winter which might refocus them to home issue rather than fighting in UKR. I don’t think the people will go willingly.
Now I’m not sure where I read it, but I thought it was here. Zelensky started bombing the Wildberry distribution centers in Russia. And although it didn’t hurt the Russians too much, Russia started bombing Ukraine’s equivalent of the same which started causing extreme food shortages throughout Ukraine. Then Ukraine started bombing Russia’s diesel plants so Russia bombed more of Ukraine’s distribution centers. Now Zelensky said he would stop bombing the diesel plants if Putin would quit bombing the distribution centers. Did anyone else hear something like this?
Yes. here.
Moscow and Kiev Exchange Warehouse and Distribution Attacks, But Only One Side Feels Impact – The Last Refuge -Aug. 29
Russia and Ukraine Pause Military Strikes as U.S. Peace Emissaries, Witkoff and Kushner Visit Moscow and Kyiv – The Last Refuge-Sept. 5
Thank you, I was pretty sure that it was here that I read that. Most places wouldn’t pay attention tosomething like, that much less print it.
Senator Grassley just a couple days ago put out a tweet encouraging an embargo on diesel fuel.
The affable Grassley speaks with fork tongue.
Russia, Saudi Arabia and the US are putting the squeeze on Europe. No diesel, no war, shutdown that little man in Kiev befor winter and stop pking the Bear. Get back into your cage or kennel and leave the Hard Work to the Big Boys Ursula, you skanky Rat Bitch.
Pres. Trump should ban diesel fuel exports ASAP.
If Congress chooses to involve itself to oppose Pres. Trump, my guess is that EU_NATO supporters in Congress will oppose the ban.
The key: Pres. Trump must declare a national emergency.
Google AI overview:
“The U.S. President has existing executive authority under federal statutes like the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to restrict or ban exports during a declared national emergency without waiting for new congressional action.”
“AI responses may include mistakes”
I hope that’s exactly what our President does! America first! Maybe this will break the “futures” global cabal which controls the price too!
Ukraine began bombing Russian refineries in August 2025. After nearly a year of lost production it is easy for Mr. Putin to put an export ban of a product he can barely produce in order to keep domestic market alive.
Do it, now.
President Trump putting an export ban on U.S. diesel would be intensely damaging to Europe, specifically the EU-NATO group. However, that same U.S. ban on exports would increase the pressure on Europe to support a solution to the conflict.
Putin did say there were things that the President could do to help this peace process along, so this fits I think…….
