We can expect the pace of things to become increasingly fast in the next few weeks.
To our north, a small percentage of Canadians are just beginning to realize what the term “Associate Member” really means when it comes to a Canada joining with the European Union on strategic objectives.
Prime Minister Mark Carney has been selling a sovereignty argument to his constituents within his political package of antagonisms toward the U.S. trade team and President Trump. However, Europe has far greater restrictions and regulations on trade autonomy than the USA. If Canada is to be partnered to the EU, then suddenly Canada has to adhere to a higher level of trade restrictions. The EU makes the rules.
With Europe dictating trade standards, rules of production, manufacturing, access etc. Canada is no longer in alignment with the USMCA. This plays right into the hands of President Trump and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, who would prefer two distinctly different bilateral trade agreements; one with Mexico and one with Canada.
The question then becomes, when do Trump and Greer announce the termination of the USMCA. The most reasonable answer is after the U.S. and Mexico finalize a bilateral trade agreement. With the U.S. and Mexico agreement confirmed, the Canadian leverage evaporates.
Carney had previously tried to pressure Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum not to reach bilateral terms. However, again return to what Carney just did with Europe. Telling Mexico to sit on their hands while organizing a separate side deal with Europe is more than a little hypocritical; in fact, it is really, really insulting.
This opens the door for Trump and Greer to exploit Carney’s self-centered political duplicity, and when you understand that dynamic you have context for why there’s suddenly a warmer embrace of such an agreement by Sheinbaum. Any hope that Carney had to rely on Mexican favor toward them, was just eliminated by the gleeful backslapping in Strasbourg France witnessed by everyone.
That’s why we are seeing reports that Mexico and the United States have reached terms for a bilateral agreement. Yesterday, President Trump and President Sheinbaum held a phone call to discuss final aspects of mutual agreement.
That leadership call doesn’t happen unless Greer and his Mexican counterpart, Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrand, have already ironed out the sticking points and eliminated any points of friction.
The trade negotiations led by Greer and Ebrand have been conducted over the past year as Canada sat on the sidelines and organized a political economic narrative on behalf of the British Commonwealth. Those U.S-Mexico terms are now complete as noted by President Trump and Claudia Sheinbaum.
I strongly suspect the next meeting between Greer and Ebrand sometime around September 28th will contain an announcement of a completed bilateral free trade agreement.
Once that U.S-Mexico announcement is made, the next step will be the formal notice to Canada that the United States is terminating the USMCA, or what Canadians call CUSMA.
It is no longer possible for Carney to pick up the phone and call Sheinbaum, given recent events and his behavior as it pertains to bilateral terms between Canada and the European Union. Carney has done this to himself, to his own position and to the Canadian people.
MEXICO CITY, Sept 18 (Reuters) – Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Friday that she spoke with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, and they reached some agreements.
Washington is speeding up its efforts to reach a bilateral trade deal with Mexico before the US midterm elections in October.
Sheinbaum did not provide details about the agreements during her daily press conference, but described the call as “very good.” (more)
This series of actions and consequences has been very predictable from the outset. However, most people have been unwilling or unable to see exactly how President Donald Trump has outmaneuvered Prime Minister Carney every step of the way.
President Trump used Carney’s ego and Canada’s hubris against him/them by directing the Canadian Prime Minister to take actions against his own interests. Carney never realized the guiding hand behind the path he was following, and suddenly if Carney now turns to the American congress and requests support, he is facing an audience that points out the incompatibility of his Canada-EU trade position.
People will try to deny that President Trump handled this perfectly, but when you look at all of the political elements Trump needed to overcome in order to get to this moment, there’s no denying that if this very specific sequence of events did not occur in exactly the way they occurred, the United States would not be in this incredibly strong position.
This was gamed out perfectly, and honestly, it’s been a lot of fun to watch!

Gonna celebrate with a Mezcal cocktail. Art of the Deal, indeed!
And The Ohio State Buckeyes look like they’re going to be winning today also!!!
🇺🇸🏈💥
Thank you Sundance for the fantastic news!

If OSU can’t wipe the field with Kent State…
A little pallet cleanser from last week.
I cannot wait for this to happen, and for the Canadian economy to collapse. Get the popcorn ready!
I was going to say ‘too clever by half’ but that gives Carney too much credit.
Oh Canada! You did this to yourself and now you’re getting the second rate trade agreement you so deserve. Keep on with your elbows up thing.
Forget 3d chess, Prez Trump played 6d chess with the Canadian fool, who to quote Trump, lost bigly
Honest question here: will it be more beneficial to sign an agreement before the mid terms or afterwards? And why?
The sooner the better, in my opinion.
Carney The Clown needs the proverbial kick in the gonads as quickly as possible to stop this ridiculous game he is playing.
Once “CUSMA” is officially terminated, Canada will suddenly realize they are in deep water with no life vest. We can all break out the popcorn and watch them drown.
For all of the Canadian Treepers, PLEASE find a way to escape before it’s too late. May God bless you and your loved ones.
Carney’s got gonads?
I’d be curious how the EU reacts when they realize China is duping their stuffs into Canada so as to enter the EU at no cost.
All of a sudden the EU will go “oh ‘oh”.
China is already dumping their stuff into the EU directly to the great thrill of the technocrats in Brussels.
If Canadia becomes captive to Eeeeewww bureaucrats does that not mean Canadia must accept endless African males of fighting age to rape and pillage woman?
Take a big RIB* to cross the Atlantic !
*Ridged Inflatable Boat
I live in Montana.
If you’re right, sure hope President Trump builds a wall up here, too.
So this answers the question that’s always been hanging out there. Why did Trump go out of his way to insult Canada right out of the chute? Turns out it was to drive Canada into the arms of the EU so Mexico could be peeled away from globalists.
a slight tweak, if i may.
i don’t believe PT went “out of his way to insult Canada right out of the chute.”
i think he just truthfully told Canadian leadership that given the foreseeable
results of their pursuit of the Green agenda,
they would be much better off as the 51st state.😁
that Canada took the truth as an insult is on them, not PT.
Yep. Their pride could not suffer the truth.
Slowly at first. Then all at once.
Watching history before our eyes.
Trumps small team of wolverines probably chalks up more hours than our 535 members of CONgress combined.
Actually, I generally prefer Congress to do as little work as possible, since most of what they do is evil.
“No man’s life, liberty or property is safe when Congtess is in session.”
And the Narco aspect of a failed Narco state that is directly responsible for over 100.000+ American deaths yearly continues.
It deliberately continues dumping raw sewage on the fields of produce sent to this country and all of this and their millions of welfare recipients sent here is being dealt with how ?
I have a feeling that the agreement with Mexico will include at least some of what you question. That’s one of Trump’s goals.
I have posted several times that I was hoping for this announcement on 9/17 as Carney was speaking to the EU. I missed by a couple of days but none the less it looks like what is done is done. It will be interesting to watch how the Canadian dollar behaves over the next few weeks. Can we block the long distance phone lines between Ottawa and DC. Please!!! We don’t want to hear from you guys for quite some time. Hey, we’re working here.
I had the same hope. But it still heals really good!
Teed up like a golf ball . Then POW ! 350 yards!
“the pace of things to become increasingly fast”
In other words, chalk up some more “WINS” in the VSGPDJT column, while MSM wracks their TDS obsessed minds to twist the facts.
With the Greenland deal, our need for Canadian geography became an order of magnitude less vital.
Now this.
Carney is going to look the part real soon…..

I’m guessing Ursula is going to try to punish Denmark. Especially as the terms of the deal play out over time and the “contracts” that Denmark secured as part of the deal for long term benefit to The Kingdom become clear. Perhaps the extent of the benefit will have to be revealed shortly, for internal political reasons in Denmark.
Ursula’s rage will push Denmark away from Brussels, maybe closer to the US.
You’re failure is complete Carney.
Can you imagine what Charles, Obama, Carney, Merz, Macron, Meloni, Burnham , Stubb, Hilary and Rahm are discussing today?
They are likely using their ouija board to consult their demonic masters for further instructions.
“We’re-a so screwed.”
Between the Greenland announcement, the Carney stupidity, and now the Mexico deal, how can anyone doubt that America has come out light years ahead under Trump than we have under many previous presidents combined? Do you think we would see anything CLOSE to this under a Democrat president? No possible way. We haven’t in the past, will not in the future.
This is a “What if” moment, right now.
I pre typed this yesterday when reading through the comments but it definitely applies to this. My apologies for the lengthy comment.
I find it hilarious that both the Democrat and Republican voters complain about corporations controlling our government, which btw, is 100% True. But instead of complaining, why not learn the game and make money from it?
We all know we can’t take it with us when we die but it’s clear to me, that none of you are dead yet. Stop living your lives caught up in all this darn drama and just listen and observe everything around you.
Here’s example – When President Trump’s administration took a 10% stake in INTC, I told my wife to buy 10,000 shares at 30. She then sold it at 140 where it was beginning to top out. Will it go higher? Sure. But pay yourself now instead of hoping or letting greed get in the way of profit. DON’T marry your trades!
If you want to get out debt, well then, if it’s a secured loan, you focus on doubling or tripling the payments making sure to apply the 2nd payment to principal only. If it’s an unsecured loan, like a CC, pay it off every month but if you can’t, double, triple or quadruple the monthly payment, depending on your lowest monthly dues. If you have multiple CC’s but paid the higher interest rate off first, add that full dollar amount plus the current monthly dues to the next CC. You’ll be out of debt in no time. I suggest you start with CC’s first.
If one still hates on corporations or CC companies, then stop paying them more interest than they deserve. When you understand why CC companies have extremely high interest rates just look at the bankruptcies and the total debt on the Credit Cards. You’ll find your answer there.
My advice, if you’re willing to actually take it, is to Connect the dots of where and why you’re going to invest by playing a game of ‘What if?’
‘What If’ Bessent ‘mistakenly’ leaves a ‘to do list’ on a desk that reads “Buy the Japanese Yen (JPY) $5 – $10 bil., what would you do? You currency traders should have known what to do. If not, you missed out on a huge payday!
‘What if’ our Bond Market yields are rising like they have been, (Yields up, Bond prices down) you invest in the private sector, meaning – anything not connected to government debt. Knowing which sector is important too.
‘What if’ war breaks out, of course we’re still in it, but when it breaks out… how many sectors would be available to invest in? Many!
When the Dow, the Nasdaq and the S&P start making new highs again, Trump will of course, claim the credit and most will believe him. That’s great and all and still won’t be the truth but who cares. It really doesn’t matter to someone like myself, I have absolutely no debt, my gross worth is free and clear and if I ever became desperate, I can simply liquidate.
I’m a technical analyst so it doesn’t matter what market it is, I focus on what price action is telling me whereas fundamentalist, focus on past performance and why they’re always wrong. They never connect the dots!
Remember, the rich become wealthy because they invest while the poor spend themselves into oblivion.
As my late Father-in-Law used to say, “Why buy the Cow when you can get the milk for free?” Stop being the milk!
So… when Canadians chase Carney out of their country (versus tarring and feathering him) will he join his wife and kids WHO LIVE IN AMERICA or will he flee to Europe?
What a weasel.
Wolverines!
