Their business model was to base in Mississauga Ontario, source from China, with maybe some light assembly in Chinada and sell into the US. After takeover they got rid of the local Cadet financial staff and moved various functions up to Ontario, just north of Lake America.
They then steadily moved away from what made Cadet American and special and conformed it to the exact business model that SD is talking about. So if we can crush Chinada and the Eurotards in one fell swoop that would be fantastic.

I work on electronics, in that world you really get a good look at the Chinese business model. It works like this, the best I can ascertain.
They have no intent on getting return customers, that’s not how they think. Companies in other parts of the world want you to continue buying from them, but China has this cut throat mentality where they all fight each other for your money, and do not care if the customer buys from them again, they just see it as another fight they will have for the next customer’s business.
Parts made anywhere else are superior. There are some American companies that make decent products in China, but it’s because they have American management literally inside the Chinese factory making sure corners aren’t being cut.
Even if the stuff is made in Korea, Malaysia, etc. it’s much better quality. Japan, Germany, anywhere in Europe really, Israel, Russian, American, even Mexican parts are generally acceptable and reliable because they don’t go out of their way to cut materials that compromise the product.
EVENTUALLY, this is going to sink China and it’s their MINDSET, it’s not going to change anytime soon, it’s just how they believe in doing business.
That is exactly what happens when Blackrock, Vanguard or State Street does when they cumulatively buy 20% of a company. Just look at Jersey Mike’s. Lower quality food in lower quantities for more money.

This I know, I was horrified at the amount of Chinese food in Canadian grocery stores 26 years ago. This was happening at a time when the Chinese were putting poison in our dogfood and baby formula, we were NOT Eating Chinese made food at all here and yet Canada has tons of it.

Agree. Strong retaliation is more merciful in the end. Anything else is enabling and allows the denial to continue. The majority of Canadians still have not woken up to what’s happening. They still have not felt the pain yet. Well a few are beginning to.
Look at Iran and China. They pretend to agree but then do the opposite. They lie to gain more time. Canada is doing the same and I believe it’s because China has gained such a foothold into Canada, especially into the Liberal party. China seems to have huge influence in Canada but it’s mostly behind the scenes. It has been warned about and exposed by many including government investigations into the matter, but it all gets swept under the carpet by the Liberals and nothing ever gets done. The Liberals get a lot of back door help from China to win elections.
I was taught to bring something to reach the drowning person — throw them a buoy, or anything else — but don’t risk drowning. Unfortunately Canada has decided it does not want the proffered lifeline and is trying to punish its rescuer by grabbing onto an anvil offered by China.
I genuinely like the Canadians I know personally, they are good people. But their government has been so abusive to them and they refuse to see it.
We may discover, after this is over, that a “good person” is not necessarily someone who simply avoids hurting others’ feelings and helps out when they see someone else in pain. Not a popular idea right now, but that’s because our moral code has been distilled down to the incredibly simplistic “Be nice”.

The reticence of the Senate, under Republican leadership no less, to pass critical economic legislation has make one wonder. It only takes a few to scuttle legislation.
I have bore witness to our evolution of politics here in America. Extraordinary in every way in my lifetime. And who would have suggested some 30-40-50 years ago that many Americans would be sympathetic toward the plight of Russia while simultaneously drawing greater and greater animosity toward our northern brethren? Certainly not I, and yet I am full bore in both directions. The Europeans have failed their obligations. The Chinese are still the major adversary to all free societies. That is separate from the vehicle’s sale price and is not necessarily a conventional carbon offset. It is usually a regulatory compliance credit: the buyer purchases it because the credit is cheaper or easier than selling enough EVs itself. Canada’s system allows automakers to earn credits through ZEV sales and, subject to the applicable rules, sell excess credits to companies that fall short.
A Chinese company could benefit in three ways:

So if one EV generates one credit and the automaker has an excess of 3,000 credits:
