Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is delivering speeches, holding press conferences and trying to justify his position following the collapse of negotiations between the USA and Canada. Meanwhile, President Trump and his trade team are intentionally quiet.
In all high-stakes negotiations, deals and financial issues, the apex predators always know you make your point clearly and without reservation, you establish your terms and then you don’t say anything. Total silence. The first person to break the silence is the losing hand. Once your terms are established you stay quiet and then let the other party talk, talk, and talk themselves to yes. Silence is the power.
Mark Carney is telling everyone his position and trying to justify what has taken place. Mark Carney is in a very weak position on both structure and substance of the issues. [I wrote a lengthy explanation HERE]
Within this segment Carney tries to explain what the USA requests were that Canada would not agree to. He notes the U.S. wanted strict control over Canada’s free trade agreements (FTAs) with other countries. What Carney fails to note is that this exists already, right now in the USMCA [Article 32:10 of the USMCA]. The U.S. has termination rights to both Canada and Mexico FTAs with other countries. This is an example of Carney gaslighting Canadians.
In reality, Canada wants unlimited and unrestricted access to the U.S. market as if they were a 51st state. However, Canada will not permit unlimited and unrestricted access to their market for U.S. companies. This, Carney says, compromises the sovereignty of Canada. WATCH:
.
I was confident the discussions would collapse because the Canadian position is based on lies, fraud and political denial. Canada is playing politics hoping to retain their one-sided benefits and outlast President Trump into the midterm election. Trump, however, has already executed the tariffs and the only thing remaining for him and Greer to do is trigger the six-month USMCA withdrawal. [Details Here]
Here’s the full video:

i watched a 2-minute clip from Forbes where Carney said ‘we waited until the US implemented the tariffs’. I believe he meant the new 50% tariff that PDJT just announced. Carney made it sound like they were not negotiating at all, just using the time to continue the favorable trade terms they had with us.
What is missed in the great commentary is the impact on the ‘Canadian Confederation.’
Carney has defacto, told Albertans that they are SCREWED, and that the Canadian Confederation will continue to transfer wheelbarrows of Albertan revenue to other provinces.
Climate change and other ‘priorities’ are more important than holding together the Canadian Confederation.
It’s a great thing that Premier Carney gave Alberta a healthy 2 months to decide to endure/linger within the Canadian Confederation!
Come on over, Alberta, not as a state, but a territory. We’d love to have you!
They would be a territorial state, not a state of the union. By the way, neither Trump nor this “Congress” has standing to make Alberta a union state – Trump is President of The United States of America (incorporated), a vendor of government services under contract. The American Federation of States could accomplish the job under the provision of the Northwest Ordinances.

I must disagree with your post.
Carney said the U.S. wanted strict control over Canada’s free trade agreements (FTAs) with other countries. And he noted that recent U.S. demands went beyond existing frameworks by attempting to broadly restrict Canada’s sovereign right to pursue independent trade agreements with market economies.
While Article 32:10 of the USMCA (CUSMA) specifically targets free trade deals with non-market economies like China, the latest U.S. negotiating positions reportedly sought broader oversight over independent trade expansions into other global markets. And the US brings it up at the last minute.
These independent trade expansions are exactly what Carney has been doing for the past year. The US does not have termination rights to both Canada and Mexico FTAs with other countries.
…”The US does not have termination rights to both Canada and Mexico FTAs with other countries.”…
Yes they do.
The U.S. can terminate Canada’s trade to the USA if they complete a bilateral FTA we do not agree with. That’s what Carney was complaining about. That term and condition exists right now.
Don’t forget, the MOUs on all Canada trade agreements specifically cite the baseline of access to the USA market as a term and condition of the trade agreement. If Canada loses access to the USA market, all of their FTAs have diminished value and need to be immediately renegotiated.
Sounds to me like he has bought into the Carney bs, hook, line and sinker.
Not under Article 32:10 of the USMCA (CUSMA) they don’t. it specifically states free trade deals with non-market economies like China.
Canada’s international free trade agreements do not contain baseline memoranda of understanding making their terms legally contingent on maintaining unhindered access to the U.S. market. While losing core U.S. trade access severely impacts Canada’s export economy, other pacts like CETA or the CPTPP function as separate, binding legal obligations under international law that do not automatically collapse or mandate immediate renegotiation. (Source Canada’s International Trade-Global Affairs). And more trade agreements to come.
Good luck with that.
Allen hates Trump. Period
Sounds like Allen hates America, and wants that one way trade policy which benefits Canada. We watched what they did to there truckers. It should be real interesting to see if they do anything to the commies in charge of there country after there collapse.
He’s just making a point he believes is in that agreement. God bless these people that can read all that mumbo jumbo !
Under Article 32.10 of the USMCA, a non-market country is defined as a nation that meets two specific criteria: first, it is a country that a Party has officially determined to be a non-market economy for the purposes of its trade remedy laws; and second, it is a country with which no Party has already signed a free trade agreement.
The classification of a country as a non-market economy is based on its failure to operate on market principles of cost or pricing structures, typically evaluated by factors such as:
• The extent to which the country’s currency is convertible into other currencies.
• Whether wage rates are determined by free bargaining between labor and management.
• The degree of government ownership or control over the means of production.
• The level of government control over resource allocation and price/output decisions.
China is the primary target of this provision, as it is classified as a non-market economy by the United States, but the clause technically applies to any country meeting these definitions, including Vietnam and former Soviet states, for a couple of examples.
The USMCA incorporates a mechanism to prevent any party from entering a free trade agreement with a nonmarket country without potentially allowing the other parties the right to terminate the USMCA.
The USMCA does not provide a fixed list of nonmarket countries. Instead, EACH OF THE THREE PARTIES-UNITED SATES, MEXICO, AND CANADA-HAS THE UNILATERAL AUTHORITY TO DESIGNATE A COUNTRY AS A NON-MARKET ECONOMY FOR THE PURPOSES OF TRADE REMEDIES. This gives them discretion in identifying economies where government influence significantly affects market conditions.
Ultimately, the designation is flexible and party-specific. There is no international or USMCA-wide registry of nonmarket countries, and decisions can be revisited or challenged under the agreement’s dispute settlement procedures. The main consequence is that entering into a separate FTA with a non-market country can trigger consultations or potential bilateral agreements between the remaining USMCA parties.
Yes or no. Did the U.S. introduced late-stage language explicitly aimed at curbing Canada’s ability to independently pursue free trade deals with other global partners. [1, 2]. That is the question. Many sources are saying yes it did.
No denial from Pres. Trump or Greer yet.
Hey dumpy. This is the one of several main huge reasons. Trans shipping. It’s been A#1 reason for everything…..
https://x.com/CecileShaw/status/2091337829553000728
One reason the Canada-US trade deal collapsed:
Canada could not promise / would not stop Chinese steel being transshipped into auto parts & then into the U.S. market.
The U.S. requires a strict “melt and pour” rule. Steel must be melted and poured in North America to qualify for preferential treatment.
This stops Chinese steel from entering Canada, getting light processing, and crossing the border as “North American” content to evade tariffs.
Recall The Canadian Steel Producers Association and Aluminium Association of Canada have both publicly confirmed Chinese dumping is happening, warning Canada risks becoming a dumping ground for China’s excess steel and aluminum.
A recent White House report on the “transshipment scam” also listed Canada as a problem country in China’s shadow network for evading U.S. tariffs.
Canada failed to deliver enforceable guarantees. Mexico accepted the melt-and-pour requirements, raised tariffs on Chinese steel and auto parts, and closed the back door.
Canada left it open and the deal fell apart.
It’s the whole enchilada Allen Hates Trump, got it dumpy
My recollection is that Canada was one of a few that has done nothing about child and forced labor producing good for the US transiting Canada.
Ya maybe , so what ! It’s in there now ! Is your point now that you were right untill you were wrong ? Ok . Good . We have that part hacked out now .
You said. ”The USMCA incorporates a mechanism to prevent any party from entering a free trade agreement with a nonmarket country without potentially allowing the other parties the right to terminate the USMCA.”
I agree. It does not prevent any party from free trade agreements with market economies and that is what the US wanted in the agreement at the last minute.
Give it up. Your argument is pretzel stick thin. They were given much advanced warning on everything that was in negotiation
They want to go the way of the European dodo birds. That’s what Carney is doing. Killing Canada. RIP unless the people push back with vigor
OK, your trolliness mandated by your keepers has been exposed, so just fold up and go away, the most educated people on issues are treeperss, and you will not win, we know the score, we have been educated by Sundance for years, and he knows what he is talking about. You? Meh
Why does “at the last minute” have ANY significance. It’s pretty clear Carney et al were fumbling the negotiations and appearing duplicitous. I’m not familiar with the legal trade language but it seems clear Greer and company kept their cards close until they were forced to play the Trump card. The reality is Canada has (apparently by design), driven DOWN their added value content relative to GDP. Work the math: Canada GDP is @ $2T with @ 25% exported to the US in 2025. If they are making less, confirm it but I see 50% less over the last 20 years (source: World Bank Group stats), where is the balance sourced? Get the picture in needing protections?
It doesn’t. He’s just trying to prove he was right ! Until he was wrong.
You completely misread that statement as to its real meaning. You have no idea what was said in those meetings. The definition of a non-market economy is quite clear. If a government in any way influences the market conditions, then that is cause to prevent that party from entering into that FTA. I gave you a couple of examples other than China previously. You don’t want to accept the reality.
You’re just wrong. See Sundance’s post or Ron B’s post below. But I think you know you are wrong and you’re just here to agitate.
Agitation is all they have left.
All we have left? We have the oil and natural gas you want. We have the aluminum you want, we have the potash you want and we have the softwood lumber you want to buy. but can’t buy because of the lobbying of the US Lumber Coalition.
Plus uranium for nuclear powered generating stations, submarines and carriers . 👍 Allan.
Alan’s other account. Def a paid agitator.
Did anybody else see a sock puppet? 🤣
No, uranium is not subject to the new 50% Section 338 tariffs on certain Canadian-origin goods.
These additional 50% ad valorem duties (effective for entries on/after roughly August 19–22, 2026) apply only to specific listed HTSUS subheadings across three proclamations.
They do not cover all Canadian goods.
You suck at this as much as your other Allan!
🤡🤡🤡🤡
Uranium one in Canada that was sold to Russia you guys you need to get on your officials a little bit. Or a lot of bit you get killed up there.
What are you gonna do with it now?
We have plenty of own dumpy. You’re not smart just a paid agitator
Hoser!
No ? Ah ?

Pretty soon your oil and gas will vote to leave your outreached hands for their money
We have all that in Alaska a little north of you. Have you heard of the road being punched in from gnome all the way out to ambler. Another Trump card being played there’s $18 billion of private money being spent currently to get that road through the freshwater port in NOME is perfect as they can ship out all summer. We have a couple of mines up in that area currently that do the same thing as far as wood southeast, Alaska has more timber than we could ever use and it grows very rapidly.
How arrogant to think canada is the only country the U.S. can obtain all those mentioned products from, plus the U.S. has a lot of those mentioned products right here in the U.S. by many factors.
The U.S. has had globalist nitwits like carney making sure the resources have been left unused. As far as the U.S. Lumber coalition goes, they love the higher tariffs and would love to see the dumbing of excess lumber from canada to end.
Obviously, you do not understand MAGA. The canadians are on their way to becoming LAST. Could be we do not want to buy your stuff, just like we are tired of buying chinese JUNK.
you just had AI do your homework for you. AI frequently makes mistakes, you shouldn’t blindly trust that.
No I did not have AI do my homework for me. The Trump Admin frequently makes mistakes and they are blindly trusted
Your concern is duly noted.
Would you like to speak to the manager?
Hah…..! Good one Arnold!!!
Saying or citing Canadian sources doesn’t make your statement true. That like using don lemon or wolf blitzer as reliable sources.
“The U.S. can terminate Canada’s trade to the USA if they complete a bilateral FTA we do not agree with. That’s what Carney was complaining about. That term and condition exists right now.”– Sundance
Right. What canada and Mexico were working towards was to buy chinese goods that had been shipped to Viet nam [or into canada and Mexico directly] or whatever then relabeled and shipped to canada and Mexico before being dumped into the USA under the favourable taxation terms of the Mexican canadian and USA trade deal…….. a good and very lucrative business plan if they could get away with it….
and from the canadian well let’s say they albertan perspective they watched the environmental organizations based in the USA fund a canadian anti global warming campaign and the native Indian constituencies effort to block Alberta’s efforts to ship Alberta oil to the world oil market.. America was then able to buy the locked in alberta crude at a steep discount to the WTI price. That was worth billions and billions of dollars for america.
a trade deal should be beneficial for both parties but the special interest groups et al are always looking for an exclusive advantage for themselves…
as both the american and canadian economies sink under the weight of their political incompetence and corruption the greedy on both sides get more desperate for filthy lucre and lose sight of the fact that a trade agreement imperfect as it may be is supposed to be beneficial to both parties.
“If Canada loses access to the USA market, all of their FTAs have diminished value and need to be immediately renegotiated.” Pray, we are that fortunate.
The tariffs are expected to begin on Sept 8th there is still time to restart negotiations and I would think backchannel negotiations are ongoing with this in mind
Carney wants economic collapse in Canada to implement his agenda. And blame Trump.
You have to consider that this is intentional demolition of the western countries.
Obama and Biden did their part, childless Angela Merkel and various British Prime Ministers did their part, even Japan’s elected class brought Islam into Japan. And perhaps Hillary was prepared to do the same for the USA. How did it work? With the threat of a single word:
Racism
By whom, and why? The United Nations is the organizing force. China, a fierce defender of their own nationalism, borders, and governance, absolutely benefits from chaos in the western countries. Political Islam – same. For those of us who speak Mandarin, any Chinese person you meet will instantly tell you that Chinese people are among the most racist people, and that they are proud of their racism and superiority. It’s not at all hidden. All the higher socioeconomic status Islamic countries absolutely refuse to permit immigration from the low status Islamic countries. USA leftists ignore this obvious warning and import the worst – starting with Somalia.
The much respected ladies at Promethian Action point to the Club of Rome as the starting point of de-growth, ecology, more. With the 1973-1974 USA energy crisis, President Richard Nixon was ready to go all-in with a Manhattan Project level commitment by the USA to Nuclear Energy, but apparently that was stopped by the same ideology among leftist (communists, really) Americans, who reflexively file lawsuits against the Trump Administration for every pro-USA Citizen maneuver by President Trump. This is not something that is solved by talking it out. Strong action and fierce pushback against our planned demolition is required to prevent the outcome and trajectory we’ve had assigned to our beloved USA. We could start by kicking the United Nations out of the USA, revoking travel in the USA by UN representatives hostile to the USA, and halting all contributions to the UN.
It’s needs an inferno with those asshat leftists inside
Why not just withdraw our membership altogether. It’s corrupt, hostile to real civilization, & costs ton of $$$.
Globalist banker schill for the crown jester and their disrupters

Sundance or someone else, could you point us to the specific baseline MOU or clause you’re referring to —the one stating that Canada’s FTAs are contingent on continued access to the U.S. market? I’d like to read the actual text.
https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/files/agreements/FTA/USMCA/Text/32_Exceptions_and_General_Provisions.pdf
https://www.international.gc.ca/trade-commerce/trade-agreements-accords-commerciaux/agr-acc/cusma-aceum/text-texte/32.aspx?lang=eng
both sites mentioned refer to the USMCA and trade agreements with non market economies only. it does not apply to trade agreements with market economies.
Just saying
JMO.
Mark Carney is, and always has been, a puppet of King Charles and the UK.
King Charles looks and acts meek as a disguise ….. but behind that mask there is a man driven by the hatred of the United States’ because we defeated King George in 1776 and we defeated King Charles’ Big New Green Scam in 2024 with the election of President Trump.
Canada’s Mark Carney is a hardcore subject of King Charles of UK, purposely embedded into Canada to be Charles’ attack dog against President Trump.
He assumed the duties of PM of Canada on March 14, 2025.
However, here is his citizenship history since 1980:
Republic of Ireland (1980s–2025) ….. history as part of UK.
United Kingdom (2018–2025)
Consider also that he was the Governor of the Bank of England from 2013 to 2020.
________________________________________
It is King Charles who is encouraging Canada’s close ties to China, an enemy of the USA.
Yup, it is becoming more evident every day, Canada and China are King Charles’ surrogates in his contemporary attack on President Trump and the USA.
Don’t be surprised when it is disclosed that King Charles ordered Harry back to the UK. It doesn’t look good to have a member of the royal family in the USA. It is now being reported that Harry will return as an advisor to King Charles.
President Trump has known this since before 2024 and is taking the necessary actions to protect American’s and America, aka the tariffs and exposing Canada’s lack of NATO support.
He also knows that the “5-eyes in UK” were a large part of the democrat / RINO’s 2021 coup d’état against our Constitutional Republic, our Constitution and also our President Trump.
King Charles is delusional ……. and could be dangerous?
He has taking the loss of his Big New Green Scam in 2024 very hard ….. and has the ear of the treasonous American clown Al Gore to try to use the criminal remains of the obama / biden traitors to form an attack from within the walls of the USA.
President Trump has already warned that the enemies within the walls are extremely dangerous ….. if not the most dangerous to the USA.
Cleaning up the election fraud, especially in the blue states, is now a national security concern.
With the new dangers raised by the possible King Charles’ coordination with the treasonous democrats / RINOs, should the DEFCON level be raised?
MAGA / America First isn’t just our motto, it is our duty!
💯 🎯 Except I don’t think old Chuckie Sausage Fingers is at the helm. He’s a puppet, same as Carnage.

The hatred of mankind is the catalyst especially those nasty Joos if Satan can do away with them his Eternal place in the hottest house of fire may be eliminated.
If one looks honestly into the Hitler issue you will find lotsa connections to the occult. He sent many to Tibet in search of secret knowledge. He even stole the spear of destiny. Who was he after Jooos then the Christians. See any similarity to the muslims Saturday people first Sunday people second. Similar to Britain fighting Germany they don’t care about nations it’s about eliminating the human. Here in America we abort millions of children. I could go on and on.
I don’t know how but Satan has his claws dug into all these creatures we call elite. If we simply ignored their goofy requests like Covid their power would fade overnight.
However the Bible is very clear on prophecy it very near to Jesus return.
King Charles hasn’t the intellect to lead this assault. As mentioned by Frostback, he is a puppet, manipulated by the Globalists. The sooner the monarchy is disbanded for good, the sooner the better for all in the longrun.
As for Carney ‘the elbow’s up buffoon’, Canada is not his priority, he couldn’t care less. He had no intension of agreeing with Trump. He had all the speeches and locals ready to go long before the final trade talks. He works for the WEF, period.
Trump pretty much dissed the king when he was here and the king was in shock and I was too but now I understand! Thanks again Donald Trump !
Carney is a gas lighter extraordinaire. Just look at his history on global warming. He’s an arch globalist. Don’t believe a word he says.
Sundance:
Is Bill Clinton trying to be relevant by whining about Trump’s policies- or is he stumping for the dims midterm hopes?
Both?
My apologies if I missed anything you may have already covered about this.
Excellent PDF Thread. Great job, SUNDANCE, well explained.
As to Carney, he masters lies of omission. It’s obvious in his speech and replies to reporter questions.
He’s lost face and when that happens to him, he usually runs away.
All these vile leftists are incompetent, sociopathic, & lazy as hell.

Great, good for you, if things are looking up for you so well, then you don’t need us. 100% tariffs, close the border & expel their ambassadors. Good luck, see ya on the other side!
I watched the Carney clip. I worked in the US for 34 years for an international company(biggest?)
Anyway I watched the company embrace the crazy. All these seemingly fake people, doing and saying weird things. But specifically, when they get up to speak THEY ALL talk and act the same. Same twisting of forefinger and thumb like you know what’s your talking about. Same stuttering word salad of info while repeating all the newly introduced meaningless phrases. All of a sudden training includes playing games…..many of you can see through Carney like I can. Pick him out in a sec.
I have a similar experience. A European friend who grew up in a Communist country describes it as “The Wooden Language” with the buzzword-salad phrases peppered in with conversation. Those in the corporate headquarters speak the same way and they truly embrace the crazy.
Born and bred in Colorado, once a big timber state until…
In the last of my working years, I worked for the world’s largest chemical company. It is headquartered in Germany/EU. As an employee, we had to endure tens of hours of computer, and classroom training on every DEI subject the Leftists could dream of. It wasn’t sufficient to take the courses, we had to pass an exam with a minimum of 70%. Many rudimentary, work safety, and environmental courses were common sense, but in the end, the DEI, began killing the company, at least locally.
DEI is a cancer that eventually kills its host!
When we had a Mechanic retire, or move on, we were not allowed to hire from within the local pool of qualified, experience Mechanics because they were either male, or white, or worse yet, both! This is a small city with 43% Welfare, and lots of folks who do not want to work, and are not asked to work by our generous government! After months of unqualified applicants, I had to write to Corporate HR and request a variance to allow me to hire a qualified individual. After debate, I was finally given permission.
Wow, what a story!
BASF?
Carney is not a leader and certainly not an effective leader. The number of “uhs” answering questions shows he is completely out of his depth. It is excruciating to listen to the mumble jumble. The few times he reverts to his silly talking points he does away with the “uhs”. Canada is being led by a staff man. All Carney has is talking points.

No one ever said the Canucks intelligent, they’ll get exactly what they deserve
Carney is just the most recent little dust-up since Trump took office. Ever since the US willingly put itself in a weaker trade position after WWII, the rest of the world has been trending further and further into socialism and communism. As generations have gone by, the rest of the world has simply taken it for granted that the Americans are rubes to be exploited. Now we have globalist communism infecting the west like a virus courtesy of China, and the US has responded by electing Donald Trump. We’re going to wean these man-children and put a stop to the globalist plague, and they’re already squirming and complaining.
Carney and other globalists have already been running to Xi Jinping and begging China to take care of them, but China hasn’t got the money or the motivation to take on those leeches. They’re going to have to snap out of their delusion and learn how to run self-sufficient countries again.

CBC, et al, are also trying to cast blame on Howard Lutnik for supposedly making last minute changes. They are saying that he and Greer have butted heads. What makes this hard to believe is that it’s pretty apparent that Carney has his wet finger in the air. He’d have signed what was on the table but got too much blow back from those provinces and industries negatively affected. With 91% of his investments in America, what’s good for America is good for Carney. (.5% invested in Canada ((that’s point 5%))).
President Trump is running this show. I like Greer, but I hardly believe he or Lutnik makes any moves with the President’s approval.
I suspect Trump triggers withdrawal from USMCA after the midterms. My guess is that he’s trying to reduce disruption and chaos, and that will certainly create some chaos. Maybe December? Christmas present for the snow Mexicans?
Agreed. We receive a win for Christmas. Not that we’ll get tired of winning or anything like that!
Well done, President Trump!
I had the 28 year old Canadian daughter of some Canadians I was doing some contracting work for, that I had become cordial and thankfully friendly with, (both her and her parents), go into an unsolicited diatrabe, regarding how “twisted” Canada is, inside out, outside in, top to bottom… now of course this is a relatively young lady, semi surprisingly not liberal brainwashed, like so many younger folk today… including my 30 year niece… as an example…
Looks to me like the old game called Screw America is over with, thanks to Donald Trump..
That’s a bold statement given that the Democrats will reset everything back to the Biden era if they retake power and the RINOs will sell out to profit off it. Honestly, the GOP is just waiting for this whole Trump thing to be over with so they can get back to the old days of sweeping in the campaign funds to offshore jobs and in-source foreign workers with the Democrats in lock-step.
Corney, 80% of your economy goes to the U.S. 3% of the U.S. economy goes to canada. How many times must you be told this before you understand that is not free trade. Tariffs barriers bans taxes and all the rest are not free trade, Corney.
How exactly does the DOMINION of China-da have sovereignty over anything?
