Barbara Boyd gives her perspective on the latest developments and President Trump policy intersects with the Iran conflict and the Mideast oil disruption.
According to the latest information from the region, some ships have begun navigating the Strait of Hormuz despite the conflict. It is reported that Iran is charging a $2 million fee for safe passage, however those reports are not officially confirmed.
Mrs Boyd notes the Arab nations have historically -and recently- remained under the control of the British, and President Trump has fractured this financial control system. While there is an obvious historic reference to that relationship, I’m not as convinced the connective tissue is as deep as ¹claimed in the modern era (last 20 years). WATCH:
In the modern era, thanks to technological advancement and strategic policy (even before Trump), oil and gas development and use has increasingly become regional. Oil dependencies and the trade partnerships are now associated more with refinement capacity than simply global commodities. Not all oil is created equal.
In the “producers and users” chart below, you can see the origin of regional production and import relationships. The oil supplies from the middle east flow mainly to China and Asia. The oil from Russia is the current wildcard.
Can someone explain why the US relies on oil that it cannot produce? Wouldn’t it be prudent to retool our refineries to use the oil we produce or at least a combination of US crude and another?
It’s all about the money.
Crude oil is generally split into heavier distillates to lighter refined oils in the refinery process. These are designed to use any input oil, which “cracks” the oil using pressure into different types. Different sources, as the chart shows, have different impurity levels. The more sulfur you start with, the more expensive it is to process. So starting with a cleaner (less sour on the chart) oil is cheaper to process, or requires specialized tech. The US has the ability to process what would be too expensive in other countries.
Heavy oils like diesel and #2 fuel oils are closer to crude. But they are incredibly high energy density and are great for long haul logistics in trucks and trains. So the “use the oil that we produce” is already happening, but our geography of the country requires a lot of transportation to move goods. Other than stored electricity, oil is the best mobile fuel. And even electricity requires something else to produce the energy, which is often another fuel like natural gas in the US.
So for the amounts of fuel we need for our standard of living, the oil industry looks for the cheapest total production cost. Which means importing oil over domestic if that is the cheapest to refine.
According to your comment, the US uses oil that more expensive to refine. We are subsidizing the rest of the world for this too?
I remember reading that the oil from Venezuela had to be brought to Houston to be refined. I realize that everything takes time and money, but couldn’t the US build a few more refineries like that? What about the Alaskan oil?

Correct. Neither Boyd nor Kokinda are associated with LaRouche’s organization or Lyndon Larouche since he is dead.
I have no doubt these two researchers learned a heck of a lot while working with the Larouche organizations. And, I am thankful they are sharing that information through Promethean Action. Sundance’s uncharacteristic (sole) attribution to Larouche is disappointing.

One of Britain’s last dust ups was in 1982 and it would have failed miserably without US Power. The Sheffield’s aluminum upper structure burned to a crisp. We did the logistical support and most likely all the air power. That is almost half a century ago. It has been downhill ever since.

A interesting book is the Roots of the Federal Reserve by Laura Sanger intertwines the Rothschilds and other Jewish connections to the banking industry in the early 1900’s
The grift from many players from Great Britain and with Jewish backgrounds seems to spend a lot of time working on manipulating our money system and our political system.

There are wells in Saudi which pumped out sewing machine oil. Very valuable. The oil from the US requires extensive, expensive refining to remove coke. The additional processing costs makes a barrel of Saudi light more valuable than a barrel of US crude extracted from rocks and run thru de-Coker’s.

Sundance misses the point of the Promethean ladies. The City of London, over nearly four centuries, has devised a wealth extraction scheme of toll booths and chokepoints–some physical, many financial–that controls not only the global flow of metals, minerals, and oil, but also extracts a financial grift using fees, duties and commissions in their heavily manipulated currencies, futures and commodity exchanges on all of the above.

I am of a shipbuilding family, and my father, uncle, and their dad/ my grandfather worked for various yards including several owned by oil companies (the yards were gone by the time it was my turn to join the family tradition, but I did work for the transport division for awhile). So these men had LOTS of perspectives on the whole British/CoL thing, on Britain’s hegemony and chaos-causing in the Middle East, on Britain’s role in fomenting the “two” world wars…and man o man did they despise Lloyds of London (my GF called them “pirates”).
