Conservative journalist Laura Loomer — who has been tracking Kent for months — posted today that Kent was caught leaking President Trump’s private meeting with Mark Levin to Tucker Carlson several months ago, was warned by White House advisors that another leak would get him fired, and admitted to the leak. Former Trump deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich put it more bluntly: “Joe Kent is a crazed egomaniac who was often at the center of national security leaks, while rarely (never?) producing any actual work.”
Kent is a Tucker Carlson acolyte who ran two failed congressional campaigns before being placed in a senior intelligence role. His resignation letter reads like a Tucker monologue. I would ask Joe Kent if the US and its real allies should simply have ignored the killing of Iranian civilians and how many deaths would be acceptable in Iran, 30 000 or 50 000 or 250 000 or a million? Perhaps these numbers are too low to demand action because they have not reached the 6 million Jews that Hitler eliminated?

I don’t believe the report that Kent is guilty of leaking. I think that story is more cover. Kent criticized Israel and that is not allowed. Criticize anyone but not the Israelis. The Big question should be; Why is any criticism of Israel off the table?? Please advise?

This kind of resignation was intended to damage Trump. There is no counter terrorism expert that DOESN’T know that Iran’s continued existence under its current government is an ETERNAL terrorism threat.
So he starts out with a completely false statement in his resignation.
let me try to explain how I view this, and simplify it.
the job of ANY government official is to perform the job and effect the policies of the President of the United States. period. This realizes an effective and powerful administrative state of “officials” which I will remind the people did not elect. They have one job to perform. That’s it. Just one. To carry out the policies and the tasks that the President has mapped out.
I am not opposed to anyone holding personal views one way or another. That is perfectly fine, but seems to have been lost over time, is that when you serve THIS COUNTRY IN PUBLIC OFFICE, you no longer have the privilege to hold view and opinions openly defying the President’s policies. That makes you unqualified to actually perform the job. period. So it is good that he resigns. Now he can spend all his private civilians time, not on OUR TIME< OUR TAX PAYER TIME, going on about his personal view and what he will or will not agree on. He is now a normal citizen, sans the very important power of his former office, which certainly was not performing the tasks and policies of the President. How could he? How can someone possibly do the job according to policies set by a President if they hold these kinds of view.

Any TIME for any reason that a person in such an important role of national security is no longer working to make the policies of national security for the US the number on priority with all hands on deck, they are no longer trustworthy. And this is so very very important. I can have all kinds of personal views but is it so hard to understand that my own personal views are NOT what the American People voted for from unelected people? We elected our President, our Congress, our state and local officials. They speak “for” US. This is normal. But for someone like Kent, they work for the President of the United States. The job requires absolute 100 percent commitment. And anything short of that, then they must be fired and replaced by someone who can or they self deport/resign. It’s just that simple.
what has made this entire issue cloudy is a rather recent development within various departments of government and that is they actually believe they have some kind of responsibility to advocate AGAINST the President of the United States. This has gotten out of hand and it has only caused a significant problem in how our government should be operating.
you can like or dislike the policies and actions of a President. What is not reasonable and is prohibited is to attempt to denounce YOUR BOSS IN THE OFFICE OF WHICH HE HAS AUTHORITY. PRIMARY AUTHORITY. This is not a mail job down in the basement. it is a counter intelligence national security post. There is not higher responsibility and requirement other than to make those policies your own, at both the professional and the personal level. Any conflict between those two domains undermines your own judgement. And we have plenty of examples of this to understand. I welcome this resignation. He should have done it long ago, when he first starting having his own personal doubts he could do the work.
