Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, has announced his resignation. Director Kent outlines his decision as driven by opposition to the war against Iran.
Kent, a senior deputy to Director of National intelligence Tulsi Gabbard posted his resignation letter on the X platform, writing: “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran.” … “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”

I think the retaliatory response to other countries by Iran is telling about their threats to the region, however, it would also be a good option for Israel to foment animosity against Iran by other countries and keep the US engaged. Something doesn’t smell right with this resignation. I don’t know what it is, but it will be revealed in due time. There have been some issues that I disagreed with where I work, but I didn’t abruptly quit and especially not in such a public manner. He has to know this is going to hurt Trump. Something is not kosher here.
It bothers me also. I don’t live in Washington State, but I donated to his campaign. I rarely donate to anyone outside of my state. I thought he was one of the good ones and solidly America First.

I don’t disagree with his opinion that Israel worked hard to get us involved but I think POTUS has more reasons than that to do this. For decades the ME has been under constant threat from Iran and caused much misery and death. To me this war is an extension of the Abraham Accords – a way of establishing the conditions needed for actual peace in the ME – finally.
My question is can the Iranians get rid of the current regime and become a good neighbor.

According to the article, from 14 months ago, this is his long-standing position regarding ME intervention. So it’s probably not a shock or a betrayal; he may have a problem with what he perceives as excessive Israeli influence, which Sundance has long pointed out.
