This is a pretty solid position by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton who is offering to drop out of the Texas senate race if John Thune and John Cornyn will stop blocking President Trump, eliminate the filibuster and pass the SAVE Act.
Paxton gets a pass at calling Cornyn a “coward,” as the slight is negligible considering the selflessness within the offer. Paxton is a patriot and this is a solid alternative that boosts President Trump.

Even though I felt Paxton was Trump’s first choice as USAG this time around, I don’t know if he can pass confirmation.
If Thune tells PDJT to pound sand regarding any SAVE Act deal that results in quick passage of Act in exchange for endorsing Cornyn, or he demands that Paxton officially quit prior to the passage of the ACT, Paxton will not drop out of the primary, and I anticipate that he will win it; he has never been anyone’s fool.
Moreover, the President will be accepting a large risk of humiliation if he endorses Cornyn prior to passage of the Act and Thune reneges for whatever completely contrived reason.
I won’t be surprised if Thune continues seeking cover from unnamed RINOs opposing changes to the filibuster procedure that he claims cannot be overcome.
Thune thinks he has superior leverage. We’ll see if he is willing to be outed as the historically consummate RINO and destroy his Senate legacy by scuttling the SAVE Act, which is favored by approximately 85% of Americans.

The problem with that scenario is Paxton would still need to be confirmed by the Senate and there are too many RINOs there to allow that to happen.

The issue isn’t just about saving Cornyn. The swamp HATES Paxton. He derailed George P Bush’s career by defeating him for Texas Attorney Journal. The RINOs in the Texas legislature impeached Paxton on bogus charges and Texas taxpayers spent millions in the trial that ended up with Paxton acquitted of all charges. My words: Less than 2 weeks ago on an airplane presser, PDJT was asked if he knew about the affair between Noem and Lewandowski. PDJT relied that he did not know about that but he would surely find out. He looked VERY displeased. That’s when I knew that Noem was going to be reassigned just like Mike Waltz was reassigned after he effed up over the Signal app meeting.
And yet, the Senate should not remove the filibuster, it should simply return to the talking filibuster that had been in place since the inception of the institution.
The time will come, unless things in the country change, when there is a real likelihood of a Democrat majority in the Senate. The absence of a filibuster then would be catastrophic for the country. Mortally wounding ourselves in the long-term for short term gain, even if significant, is not wise. The founders have shown repeatedly that they were smarter and more thoughtful than the current generation of so-called leader. The filibuster is a valuable tool that exists to force reflection on significant issues, and possibly moderation, if done correctly. The question is whether current Republican leaders really want it done correctly.

While I hate to loan Paxton to DC, if he becomes the US AG or a Supreme Court justice, I guess I can live with it. Cornyn is a blister on Texas skin, but if he follows through with any deal made with President Trump then maybe by the time his term is up we will have a good candidate in Brandon Gill or another solid conservative Texan.
I think this is a “Heads Trump Wins; Tails RINOs Lose” situation being set up.
Option 1) Thune gets SAVE passed, Cornyn gets the nod, but now the RINOs have to go forward without the filibuster excuse for gridlock and with reduced vote fraud, they also remain the majority instead of losing power as they plan currently. Paxton becomes AG and actually starts prosecutions.
Option 2) Thune throws Cornyn to the wolves, Paxton gets tons of recognition for his willingness to sacrifice for the cause and President Trump’s endorsement and one less RINO returns to the Senate.

I wont try to pretend I understand all the nuance of politics and chess moves, but I would think almost anything that gets it passed would be a good trade. Keep in mind that these asshats have a vested interest in maintaining the status control. Anything that breaks that apart even a little is a noble thing. Paxton sees that.
These RINO Bubble Puppets are not going to go quietly. They need some self enriching incentive and Trump is using that. Perfect is a long way off and we need this Save Act. Paxton will live to fight another day and in another way.

I don’t know much about him except that when he was Pastor at Southwest Community Church (now known as Southwest Church), Bob Thune was adamant about paying off the mortgage.
Southwest is a church in Indian Wells on Fred Waring Drive at Washington Street; it’s next to the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens.
The parishioners got the beast mortgage paid off and that was a great achievement but then there were some who wanted to get right back into debt and continue building, adding on – Pastor Bob would not be a party to that and then left to pastor another church.
I just like to point out that these two guys are BROTHERS but one wants to have his church free of debt and thus free, the other is okay with his country being mired in debt and thus not free.
If Thune and Cornyn refuse Paxton’s offer, Paxton can make a good campaign advertisement out of it. His offer has already received a lot of press coverage.
Trump to Thune: “I’ll endorse Cornyn if I get a real filibuster on the SAVE act and an 11 day recess of the Senate.” That way Bondi can go and Trump can make scores of recess appointments including Paxton as the new AG.

If he endorses a RINO rather that a loyal true conservative MAGA supporter then I’m going to re-evaluate my support of our President. I never thought I’d be saying this.

But you can’t help notice some of the godawful decisions he seems to make, for what reasons I am frankly unsure. Is it just honest mistakes from not being aware, or because somebody has his weenie in a vice over something. But whatever it is, it’s factually true. This situation regards Corndog and Paxton seems to be a litmus test with lots of clarity.

A primary in which an incumbent does not win outright is a referendum against that incumbent. This endorsement drama has stirred up harsh feelings and could result in backlash against Trump. PDJT needs all the goodwill he can get. Allowing himself to be played by the Old Guard in the senate is not good, not at all.

As soon as news broke that President Trump was considering endorsing swamp rat and Thune bosom buddy, Cornyn over Paxton, it sounded like Thune was holding election integrity hostage in order to try to keep his TDS homie in power.
I hope that Paxton will not drop out until AFTER the fillibuster is lifted AND the SAVE Act is passed. Thune can’t be trusted one bit. He is a Decepticon weasel, who is in open defiance of the will of the American people on both sides of the aisle over this issue.
One can surmise that Thune has only been getting elected because of election fraud, so of course he would want nothing to do with election integrity laws. His state could use further investigation re election fraud.

Paxton’s Bear Trap: A Simple Challenge for Senator Cornyn
Everywhere I turn, I see bad choices. What are we doing here?
No one has been more supportive than Paxton. We know the GOP will double-cross Trump and betray him. Choose wisely, Trump, you are running out of time and rope.
While I don’t favor abolition of the filibuster, I do think it should be returned to its original form.
Texas does not want RINO Cornyn.
And he somehow keeps getting re-elected.
I would not vote for the man, but I don’t live in Texas.
He, like all the other “reliable rinos”, get help from the the party leadership, and, when necessary, help from demonratz when they know they cannot win. Demoncraps would rather choose a Lilly-livered rino than allow a legit MAGA to win.
THAT is why he and the other turdz keep getting elected. The local, State, and national Rino party keep assisting with orchestration when their horrible candidates are about to lose to one of our good guys.
In Cornyn’s case, Trump might endorse him if he would support the Save Act. Paxton is adding to the pressure IMO. Getting the Save Act over the finish line will have a far reaching impact b4 the midterms and long after. Even greater than having to deal with Cornyn for another 6 years.
I’d love to see he rinos respect public opinion, and pass the SAVE act.
Then Paxton can re-enter the race.
Texas MAGA people will vote for him before Cornyn anyday, and twice on Sunday.
Maybe Paxton will join Trump’s administration.
Paxton has an 11 point lead in today’s polls. Fingers crossed!
