President Donald Trump signed an executive order today reinstating the Presidential Fitness Exam. After the remarks with the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, and executive order signing, President Trump took questions from the press pool. WATCH:

I hope this fitness test includes the military and federal law enforcement not just school children
I hope it includes all elected politicians.
That would be one way to think the herd.
Drug testing as well!!!
The military and federal law enforcement have fitness tests already.
Watching Democrats and the media cry about the fitness test in school will be educational.
From what I have seen it looks like many couldn’t pass one today. Yes they have a test when hired, but they don’t have a yearly.
Or they can be rigged.
In California, a lot of Sheriff’s nearing retirement go out on disability. I think disability benefits are tax free?
Most likely ptsd. Why would anyone sign up to serve the public, to be shot at and assaulted by the people they wanted to originally help. Then they’re handcuffed by politicians and policies that punish them for doing their job. Finally after arresting some criminals the liberal judges let them walk free. That would screw up anyone’s head!
Which they can rig. Ever seen obese police and fire personnel?
Yes I have seen many obese fire and police officers.
Ya mean they (Dems, journos) just talk the talk, and not walk the walk? Amazing!
The military fitness requirements have changed over the years. While boot camp may still be strenuous some of us will remember highporting the M1 for hours. Rifles are a lot lighter these days.
At a rather advanced age, I still do rifle PT movements with an M1 occasionally.
Back in ’85 while doing drill and ceremony movements with my Hydramatic Division of GM M16A1, sweating and thinking while doing the drills in a platoon formation, thoughts drifted to depression-era soldiers doing the same maneuvers with the M1 rifle. I concluded that they had it harder than I did.
On my M 16 A1, it was made by GM Hydromatic and the stock parts were made from Mattel!! I believe other parts were from Remington. I shot Expert, the hard part was targets at 300 yards! That’s almost a quarter of a mile away! (440 yards= quarter mile)
1971 I took basic at Ft Dix, and ran a 6 minute mile in combat boots!
I remember taking fitness test in 1966.
Me too! My senior year.
I was at a middle school in Northern California over five years ago, and this is what stood out:
1. A lot of kids were exempted from PE class, so sat in the stands while others ran or walked.
2. Of the kids that tried to run laps, I think a large percentage stopped after one lap
I took the test in Jr. High and believe I kept the patch. Gotta go look.
Do hope this effort takes off. Lots of young boys and girls will love it.
My brother set several long lasting records in this program. I remember the 60s fondly.
I remember the 60s fondly.
ditto.
The chicken fat song!
Give that chicken fat back to the chickens, and don’t be chicken again. Touchdown every morning, etc. That would have been about 1964.
La Sierra High School 1962, a class of super fit, ripped students. Five minutes.
Join the Marines. Problem solved!
I think it’s a great idea.
I remember how difficult it was for girls to achieve those PFT goals in school. Impossible for me, a fit, wiry kid.
I was the only one to win the top Physical Fitness patch for all of the years offered at my elementary school back in the 1970s. My Mom sewed them on my green warmup suit but sadly that jacket is gone with the wind.
Fit as fit can be
I remember rope climbing, standing long jump, push ups, pull ups, sprints. We did it all in elementary school.
Bring back PE to the schools. The kids need the exercise and the health that goes along with that.
I too remember this from President Kennedy.
It should be effective for adults also. Associate it with a tax benefit.
We are the fattest developed nation on the planet. The only fatter are island nations like Tonga and Samoa.
I still have my Presidential Physical Fitness Award certificate in a rickety frame in a box somewhere signed (by Autopen, no doubt) by Richard Nixon from the early 1970’s !
I remember trying to pass these fitness tests in elementary school. They were especially difficult for us girls, probably because we were wearing dresses.
I don’t know about that i think the scots.fought in kilts.
They seem to like the breeze
Fun healthy times. For every season, we played softball, football,
soccer etc. The Field Days where fun too with the 440, 880 batton races,
50 yard or 100 yard dash races,. Not to mention even shot put and even
the three legged races 🙂 Of course the Tug-Of-Wars 🙂
From what I remember there was a program called “Be A David”
Heh… off topic, but beijg a Patrol Boy with that flourecent orange belt
suspender and shiny badge was cool too.
Two quotes that I believe are attributed to Samuel Langhorne Clemens (aka Mark Twain);
Number 1
Doctor: Do you exercise?
Samuel: Yes.
Doctor: What sort of exercises do you do?
Samuel: I have given you my answer.
Number 2
Doctor: What sort of exercises do you do?
Samuel: My primary exercise is being the pallbearer of friends who vigorously exercised.
Final quote related to exercise;
Never stand when you can sit.
Winston Churchill
So cool. I received this award 2 times in elementary school…which was a looooooong time ago!
This was a big deal when I was a kid. Won it 3x’s in 6-8th grade. Still have the patches!
Woof woof Spidey! 🙂
I remember how pumped up I was in grade school to compete for my Presidential Fitness patch. Pullups were always the hardest to hit. I still have one around somewhere.
I think this is great. We did this in elementary and middle school. Unlike most of my friends back then I was an athletic girl I looked forward to it every year. I won a patch every year from third grade to fifth grade. Went through fifth grade twice so I had four. I won two more in middle school. I had a Frye boot box that I kept all my special memorabilia including all my PPFA patches in. It got lost in a move and I hope someday it will find its way back to me.
I was always a girly girl but strong and tough as nails. I could rope climb and win against guys in three legged races.
My daughter took up where I left off. She won tug of war completion as the only girl on the team against an all guy team.

I didn’t recognize the athletes behind the President, except for LT.
Oops! Realized too late, I hit the triangle past the start. Great group of role models and people dedicated to their sport.
President Trump just put a reporter in his place, and it sure seems like he was hinting that the those within the legacy media who were complicit in pushing all the hoaxes will be held accountable.
Listen to what he said:
“In my first term I was fighting lunatics like you, who were trying to do things incorrectly and inappropriately to a President that was duly elected…
You can see the fire in his eyes now that all the Obamagate evidence is being declassified.
I said to hubby watch we will get those who will whine it not fair. (the whole
everyone gets a trophy crowd) I remember doing this in gym class..
I never got the patch but it was fun to see how much better you could
do each year. Maybe only 5 pull up but then next year you could do 8.
This is a good place to start. If you ever wondered about all of the sick and debilitated adults, it started in childhood.
I need to look up the fitness test we passed in ’75.
I hope it includes the president. Geez, after biden good grief.
Thank you, Sundance!
