One would think that El-Sayed’s own frequent comments would be an automatic disqualifier for any elected office, much less US Senate. This is an interesting case. The lawfare crowd tried to use a referendum to overturn the 2025 GOP favored map approved by the legislature. Missouri law tasks the legislature with redistricting. It does not authorize referendums, nor does the law specifically prohibit them.
The Missouri supreme court ruled to revert to the old map, based on a separate law requiring no changes on referendum question until after the vote. It’s not specific to redistricting. The new map was already in place, and was used during the primary.
The state sued twice on 14th Amendment Equal Protection grounds, once in District Court, and also to the US Supreme court to keep the new map in place mostly since it was already in place. The US Supreme Court (Kavanaugh) declined to hear the case. There was no ruling on the merits. The District Court ruled that the new map had to remain in place on Equal Protection grounds, due to the fact it had already been used in the primaries.
This will now be appealed to the Circuit Court, which has mostly GOP appointed judges.
The propaganda nozzle media is spinning this as is the US Supreme court ruled on the issue. They did not.
Reverting to the old map based on a referendum that will almost certainly NOT overturn the new map would be a travesty.

I used to try to save money by turning AC off while at work. Then turning it back on when I got home.
AC works incredibly hard for hours while I was miserably too hot.
Same goes for doing the same with thermostat. Letting the house stay at a higher temp when gone.
No idea what the cost savings are, but the misery cost was high.
And I’d never do that while I was home. Suffer intentionally. Brings back memories of suffering heat before AC. Current house isn’t made for cross breezes.
In SWFL I leave my thermostat at 74° and never touch it, even when winter comes, I never use the heat. In the summer, I use my ceiling fans to cool down faster after mowing.
We leave ours on 77 and never touch it .
Like you we have ceiling fans and in the winter it use to be a battle now that I am alone it will be no heat on just fire in the fireplace :).
Our grandparents and great-grandparents knew how to build a house. Not like the insanely expensive crap that is thrown together today!
It can easily be shown that the best way to save power (in a reasonably well-insulated house) is to keep the temperature consistent. If you let the house heat up, you’re gonna burn a lot of energy cooling it back down again. Once the house reaches the desired temperature (range), it costs least to keep it there.
If you’ve got an “old” system, consider replacing it. Newer systems are MUCH better. Our power company has a program that will finance the installation of a better system at ZERO percent interest over TEN years – factored into your electric bill. Your utility probably does the same, if you ask. (They supervise a select group of contractors which they contract with themselves, to do the work to their standards. Including new insulation.)
Invest in quality windows with coatings that reflect heat. (Or, attach plastic sheets that do the same.) If the afternoon sun bears down on those windows, put up pretty awnings or shutters.
Weatherstripping! In the winter we notice “cold drafts,” but in the summer there are “warm drafts,” too!
My power company will conduct a professional assessment at no cost. Check yours out … They don’t want the power they sell to be wasted.
One more comment: If your roof has no shade, an inconspicuous attic fan or a rooftop “twirlybird” will pull the heat out. Attics can become quite hot. Use soffit vents to give the fan something to pull from. Any good contractor will know exactly what to do.
Especially if you have any high ceilings, a ceiling fan will improve air circulation and therefore comfort. “Heat rises.”
We have a heat pump and our electric bill here in east Texas is never over $217.00.

When we moved in 20 years ago we had to purchase a new A/C unit. We were told the heat pump (expensive) would pay for itself over time.

A new Gallup poll found that 89% of American adults believe corruption is widespread throughout the government, the highest reading in the 20-year history of the survey. The 89% reading rose by an astonishing 10 percentage points in a single year. Perceptions of widespread government corruption had remained between 72% and 79% from 2010 through 2025. The public was already deeply cynical, but something has clearly broken. When almost the entire population believes its government is corrupt, the political system has lost more than popularity. It has lost legitimacy.
The partisan movement reveals how voters process corruption. In Joe Biden’s final year in office, only 57% of Democrats said corruption was widespread. That figure rose to 76% during the first year of Donald Trump’s second term and reached 91% in 2026. Democratic concern exploded by 34 percentage points once the opposing party controlled the White House. I suppose some of you have seen the interview with the three women jurors from the Clancy trial, and heard the hideous “He just couldn’t get his mind off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children” criticism of the holdout juror.
But something else came out that was even worse – from a legal point of view. There were several nurses on the jury and they used their “expertise” to “explain” some of the medications that Lindsay Clancy took.
This would have been contrary to the judge’s instructions to only consider the evidence at trial. If pharmaceutical expertise was needed, it had to come from a witness who testified at trial under oath and subject to cross-examination,
If any of the juror-nurses said something like “I remember a case where…” that would be even worse.
(This would be like an auto accident case in which one juror said, “I work on cars, and the brakes in the model are…” Also beyond the record.)
They went outside the record just as if they’d been reading news reports and talking about the reports in the jury room.
These three gave the judge’s mistrial order more justification.
I would like to get a look at the 2 other male jurors who were brow beat into submission.

I think they didn’t wear pink until the end of the trial. When they were questioned during jury selection, they said they could be objective and consider only the evidence ,and maybe they started out that way.
Most attorneys have learned to read people rather well.
I tend to think these were the very type of women they wanted in this jury.

Yes. Lindsay Clancy was a labor-delivery nurse. Putting nurses on the jury would have created some identification with her for those jurors.
Each side can strike a juror “for cause,” which means there is something about that juror that would make it impossible for the juror to be objective. I don’t think just being in the same occupation would be enough.
Each side gets to strike a certain number of jurors without explaining why (it’s called a peremptory strike). Those strikes have to be used carefully and strategically.

There is common thing I heard and you probably heard … GOD IS LOVE.
Do we agree, we heard that … but do you REALLY,REALLY believe that? NO, you don’t!
You believe if I find the right, person, place or thing, OUTSIDE of me, I will FIND someone/something that gives me the “love” I’m looking for. I love this car, … it’s brand new and smells like a new car. Then you have something happen, a problem with car. And you are frustrated and don’t feel love at that moment. Or wife/husband does something you don’t approve of, and …. where is the LOVE. You will send a “negative vibe” to that person to change them… you are NOT going tosend “love” to that person, car, boss, when they go against … your model of how they should be.
Well, … if GOD is LOVE, … if you connect with GOD, you will FEEL THE LOVE, it flows through you, and it makes you feel, really, really GOOD. You love to have that LOVING FEELING. There is a song that goes like this: “baby, baby, you don’t look at me the way you used to look at me, you lost the loving feeling … that I used to feel coming towards me, … it’s gone, gone, gone, … and the singer is practically crying as he sings this song!
Well, … that is looking for LOVE in the wrong place. Please, stop lieing to yourself. You get a “good” feeling when a ego praises you, or things work out the way you want them to go.
Well, what is the solution? Well, FIRST THINGS FIRST … pray and meditate to get that LOVING FEELING BACK, connect consciously with GOD, and don’t stop until you get that “LOVING FEELING from hanging out with GOD”. GOD is LOVE. You connect with GOD and you feel the love.
Now, the Miracle will come to you, when you send God’S LOVE to people, places and things, … and stay connected with GOD’S LOVE in you! Everybody around you is “looking for love in all the wrong places” … and intuitively they can feel “GOD’S LOVE flowing through you, as you consciously start sending it out “SILENTLY”. Don’t talk about it. FEEL GOD’S LOVE then breath it out to everybody, everything … and watch the PLACE look different to you (and only you)… you are doing the GOD THING and the others are not yet doing the GOD thing.
I have gone to parks and other places and have done it, and thousands of animals are drawn to GOD’S LOVE flowing through me, fish, furry animals, birds, insects. Now it doesn’t start that way, in the beginning , only I felt God’s LOVE, and maybe the first year or 2 … nobody else felt GOD’S LOVE flowing through me. But one day, I did notice others respond to it, … animals at first, then if I hugged something or touched a human, … they felt it … it shocked them, eventually I try not to touch ego’s. Because the “dark ones” don’t like it when I do touch them. The dark ones have to work overtime, to get the ego to go back to their regular state of consciousness.
When I radiated “GOD’S LOVE” I could sit in park, and have lots of animals come to me, sit on me, hang out, then kids under 5-6 years old, would hang out with me, and their parents look at me, and stay back, as the animals and young children … and I radiate GOD’S LOVE. My ego love is garbage! … In my HEART I know “we all love GOD’S LOVE. So SHINE YOUR LIGHT (GOD’S LOVE) out, the world has enough of your ego hate, judgement crap! STOP it! What the world needs now is “GOD’S LOVE” , well … if you are ego … you will forget everything I say in this post … your handlers will get you to forget it, and you are very good ego’s … go back to finding fault and sending out your ego Judgements and hate, you ego’s do this so well, you were trained from birth to do the “ego dance”.
Can YOU change? It would be a miracle if you did GO to GOD … and LIVE IN GOD’S LOVE … but the price to pay is all the “dark ones” do not like you removing the dark ones food source … which is eating your SOUL! (by disconnecting you from GOD ALMIGHTY).

Agreeing with everything you say Rich, however we must be careful not to paint an image where all life henceforth is as a permanent state of bliss. That is for the world to come. Regrettably we still exist in a “fallen world” where “darkness” will do everything in its power to resist – this is our struggle. However you are correct – we can access/experience a “preview” here in this life. Personally I advocate that if all or most people understood and acted as you describe, we (the world) could very well attain a “heaven on earth”. Which is why it becomes so difficult for people who have experienced this to continually face the negativity. Think of the prophets who were HATED by most in their time. Imagine their frustration and pain, even thoughts of suicide/death. But, yes, all nature and sentient beings “pick up” on the vibe that radiates from God-spirit connected humans. Which is why when a land is blessed by God, everything including the animals, plants, bugs and weather “feel” the positive energy. The result is as close to heaven as we can achieve here in physicality – but it IS do-able.
from suejeanne – just checking in, have been at hospital for my Mom – Beverly (who will be 98 on September 18th) who ate food yesterday (soft food) which was a major wonderful step – she will be coming back home soon, getting ready to have hospital bed, home health care. Right away when she got to the hospital, she had a CT scan and then was given “the Clot Buster” medication followed soon thereafter by a thrombectomy in Interventional Radiology – her chances are good as that got done fairly quickly after the stroke – thank you for your continued prayers, I KNOW they are helping!
TPA – if we or anyone has the unmistakable signs of a stroke ask for it. In the ambulance, in triage, in the ER. ask for TPA. Yes there are risks, yes there are potentially fatal side effects. The sooner given, the lesser the damage.
That’s for sure, been there, done that.

The part left unsaid by defense lawyers as well as Jurors speaking to the media with respect to the Clancy Murder Trial … the defense failed to demonstrate that Clancy was mentally incapable “when she brutally murdered her children to the extent of establishing “reasonable doubt in the mind of the “holdout juror”.
The 3-women, interviewed by the media, were putting words into the mouth of the “hold out juror” and omitting parts of as well as twisting the whole explanation of the “holdout juror’s” explanation. (i.e. the “holdout juror” understood reasonable doubt but it was not actually established by the defense in the mid of the “holdout juror”, which is why “the holdout juror” could not move past the admitted murder).
I think Massachusetts could use a second dose of the Salem Witch trials for some of it’s women citizens based on those Clancy jurors.
I think the holdout had some doubts about a detail or two, but they were not reasonable doubts. And yes, the phrase, “reasonable doubt” is hard to define.
There can be a few minor doubts about some matters, but the juror can still be more than convinced that the accused is guilty.
These dimwitted women thought any doubt automatically was a reasonable doubt.
A mistrial should have been declared when NURSES became a significant part of the jury. The prosecution lawyers were not paying attention.

My other gripe is people talking about how long the illegal has been in America prior to being picked up. Not only can the fee be lowered or waved, but there are many organizations that will help illegals to fill out the paperwork for free.
