From what I see, Iran retains the capability to attack sites in Israel with rocket/missile delivered ordnance. Israel has limited defense capability. We don’t know what the strategic goal of Iran is. If it is to attack the will of the people of Israel, it might be successful, but only time will tell.

A protracted war is never just. If a country goes to war, it has to be to WIN. It has to be decisive and as quick as possible. It is desirable to avoid collateral death and damage. It has to fight until there is a clear and unequivocal winner and it has to be merciful in victory. A proper ruler commanding such a war (for a just cause) is being JUST.

So Iran decides to attack the US base in Qatar with 10 missiles. But they tell Qatar what they are going to do before they do it. And then when the missiles arrive, Qatar proceeds to shoot them all down and there is no damage and no casualties. Qatar then proceeds to criticize Iran and call for an end to “escalation”.
Was this an attack or not an attack? Was this an escalation or not an escalation? Optics, it certainly was optics. But what really was this?
The media has plenty here to run with in whichever direction they want to run. But otherwise what was this exactly? It doesn’t seem like it was an attack and it doesn’t seem like an escalation. It seems like BS, but on who?

Trump is not in control of events anymore, if he ever was. I don’t think he ever was in Ukraine, but he certainly could have said “no” to a strike on Iran. Instead, he ceded control of the U.S. Military to Bibi Netanyahu. He was acting on Israeli intelligence which was never disclosed to the U.S., not American intelligence (which did not think Iran was that close to a nuke).
Iran getting a nuke is not the end of the world. Pakistan has a nuke; the Paks are crazy Muslims similar to Iran (only Sunni rather than Shia) but they haven’t used their nukes. India also has nukes. Pakistan and India hate each other, but they deter each other because they both have nukes. (It is even possible that Saudi Arabia has nukes that are held for them by the Pakistanis.) Since Israel has the bomb, Israel can deter Iran.
Clearly, nukes are not the end of the world. Many countries have them (it is 1940s technology) but no country has used them since the U.S. bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August, 1945. There is an argument that the proliferation of nukes makes an unlimited war like WWII actually much less likely to take place.

There was talk of Iran not being able to keep up a missile assault on Israel. If that is so, then they certainly can’t add other fronts to their missile war in any sustainable capacity.
More troubling, in my view, is Putin’s statement of support for Iran, and Medvedev’s statement of willingness to supply nuclear warheads. Russia has a chance to join the league of righteousness, but is digging in. The West brought this upon us, kicking Russia out of G8, shoving NATO up its butt, and more, but still, it is the wrong thing for them to do. I hope it’s posturing, as I believe all the condemnations from Arab nations are.

Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered. There have been 14 missiles fired — 13 were knocked down, and 1 was “set free,” because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction. I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their “system,” and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE. I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured.
