“The Office of the Vice-President” is very often under-rated, but this person is very consistently making it count. He was an excellent choice for the position.

I agree. Why no acknowledgement of President Bush’s first brokering the disarmament of Ukraine’s nuclear arsenal. The terms being the United States promised to defend the Ukraine if Russia attacked it, if the Ukraine gave up it’s nuclear weapons, and promised Russia that it would not allow NATO to expand thus keeping a buffer between Russia and Europe. The United States first broke its promise to Russia and NATO expansion began almost immediately. Then Russia said OK then let us join NATO. The United States refused. Then when Russia invaded Crimea President Obama broke the promise to defend Ukraine. I ask myself why would any country trust the United States promises.

By having European/US troops inside either Belarus or Ukraine it puts the Russian military in exactly that position. To start from the position that Russia started the war, and that Russia doesn’t want peace is to completely ignore the facts. I stopped watching at that point because I am tired of pretending.
I’ve had ENOUGH of my $$ being spent on a war we shouldn’t be involved in, and to ignore the CIA involvement and the instigation of the State Dept (Victoria Nuland) is to promote a lie. Putin can obliterate Ukraine and I won’t shed a tear or blame Russia at all.
The entire Ukraine situation is to drive a wedge between the US and Russia; to prevent us from working together so that NATO can expand beyond it’s directive.
Done. I want OUT OF NATO, and let Europe fight it’s own battles.
Extremely well said, and exactly how I feel. Their drive isn’t just for NATO, though. It’s for one-world government, and that’s why they hate Putin (and Trump) so much.
There are ways to “leave” NATO without “technically ripping up the treaty” and creating some sort of legal as well as constitutional crisis.
PULL out ALL but a minimal “care taker and maintenance” level of presence at few key bases in WESTERN Europe. The current correlation of forces and national capabilities has Russia at such a large disadvantage that US Forces are no longer needed to balance the “Relative Forces Equation”.
Drop out of the leadership rotation and cut US presence in Brussels.
Keep MADD on the table for obvious reasons.
Cut financial contributions to the reduced level.
Nothing in the charter says anything about force levels. Let the EU know the US will take the same minimal list approach to funding as our “allies”.
So, the President does not “leave” NATO but commits only enough resources to match the “actual need”, which is within the President’s authority as Commander and Chief.
As for US relationships with Russia and the Ukraine Conflict … I have had my say. Until the US PULLS the Plug and fully normalizes our relationship Russia … NOTHING Changes … talk to the hand.
