In situations like this, I try to distance myself from broad characterizations about the populace, as I’ve yet to commission a poll and, unlike what is happening in Gaza, I have yet to see Canadians dancing in the streets over American coffins or burning Old Glory in raucous celebrations (though I have no doubt that is the outcome that is being pushed). I believe that the wisdom from above is first of all “peaceable” and so it demands a more tempered outlook. Not naive, but based more on reality than emotions.

I live in Michigan near the border. This break up of sorts may finally stop Canada sending tons and tons and tons of Canadian trash daily to our landfills in the US. When Carney says “its over,” he’s inferring this history of world-record setting peace. We may need to build a wall on both the northern and southern border.
