My first husband was a Canadian. I lived up there for a few years. I had a lot of problems. As a white American, it was the first time I experienced prejudice. I found that many Canadians really hate Americans. That was 50 years ago. I still remember verbal attacks from Canadians for no reason.
At that time, prior to moving to Canada, I was an extreme liberal typical college student from the late 60’s, early 70’s. I hated Nixon and used to demonstrate outside of the White House. When I came back to the US, I cried when President Nixon resigned.

Carney saying “nothing is off the table” when asked about Canada joining the EU should give all Canadians the jitters rather than cause to cheer. With the EU’s free movement rules, Canada would fairly quickly fill up with all those Middle Eastern “refugees”, most of them intent on continuing south to the U.S. The U.S. would have to erect a wall on our entire northern border just like the one PDJT started on the southern border, together with a very large increase in CBP personnel to watch it. All of that would be paid for by the Canadians with even larger and more permanent tariffs. What a clown. Who remembers the South Park episode where Canada goes on strike? I think that’s what this is going to look like. Canada is a mess, and cutting itself off from the US is only going to make things worse. A lot of their prosperity over the last couple decades has come because of self-destructive policies the US has implemented that have majorly impacted oil, mining, and timber production. If we’re able to open those things back up, we may hardly notice a drop-off from Canada. On the other hand, this is sad because rural Canadians are suffering even more than small-town Americans, and they’ll be out of the frying pan, into the fire if Ottawa continues to attack their economic base while “investing” in unicorn turds and leprechaun farts – AKA the “green” economy.
