Within the recent interview between President Trump’s emissary Steve Witkoff and Tucker Carlson, there was a very weird segment where Ambassador Witkoff was heaping praise upon the Qatari government. [SEE HERE] Carlson sat there nodding and affirming his support for Witkoff’s opinion of Qatar. It was really bizarre. {GO DEEP}
That segment of the interview was bizarre because there is zero doubt that Qatar is a bad actor in all things related to the middle east and U.S. domestic policy outcomes. For Ambassador Witkoff to be that wrong about such a big item puts a question mark behind his judgement and the influences on his opinions toward the relationships in the middle east.
Qatar is bad news. President Trump has previously, correctly, called out the nation of Qatar for being the center of support for radical extremism throughout the region. Qatar is also connected at the hip to the CIA.
Qatar funded and supported the original “Arab spring,” more accurately known as the Islamist Spring. Qatar is the banker for the Muslim Brotherhood. The Qatari government fund Al Jazerra. When the Arab extremists were exiled from Egypt the leaders fled to Qatar. The leaders of Hamas also live in Qatar.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) eventually had to confront Qatar with sanctions and ostracization due to the Qatari support for radical Islamic extremism. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, all of which barely survived in the Arab Spring uprisings, all put pressure on Qatar to stop their support for radical Sunni extremists.
Qatar is a supporter for Hamas, and Qatar is in cooperative alignment with the Iranian influence in the region. When Biden released the $6 billion for Iran, it was deposited in a Qatari bank. When the 5 Muslim Brotherhood leaders were released from Gitmo, exchanged for Bowe Bergdahl, they went to Qatar. When Hillary Clinton and Leon Panetta sent surface to air missiles into Libya, Qatar organized the transfer.
Within the USA Qatar funds the same groups the USAID (technically the CIA) funds that stir up trouble domestically. Those groups include The Brookings Institute, who in turn fund Lawfare, specifically the efforts of Mary McCord, Andrew Weissmann and Norm Eisen. Qatar spends money on issues in/around the USA that are against the interests of our country and President Trump specifically.
All of this activity is well documented, none of this is supposition. So, when Steve Witkoff sings the praises of Qatar, it really calls his financial relationships with the Qataris into question {SEE HERE}.
Again, remember, the Hamas leaders live a life of affluence and influence from their homes and safe harbor in Qatar.

If Steve Witkoff is listening to Qatar and shaping his opinions and perspectives as an outcome of those discussions with the Qatari government, it makes sense Witkoff would be “duped” by Hamas. Ultimately, he would be getting duped by Qatar.
Lastly, Witkoff cannot be that gullible not to know that listening to Qatar, advocating for the positions espoused by the Qataris, would put Witkoff on the opposite side of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the voices of Arab leaders who have been dealing with the mess the Qataris always end up creating.
The Muslim Brotherhood as a political arm of the extremists in the region, could not exist without the support of Qatar. Heck, Hamas itself could not exist without support from Qatar.
This is not to say that Witkoff cannot be effective within the ongoing negotiations around the issue, he certainly can. However, he would need to reorient his thinking toward Qatar and based on the Tucker Carlson interview, that type of self-reflection does not appear present.
I hate to call the baby ugly, but being this wrong on a BIG ISSUE ITEM is either a major blind spot for Witkoff or something else entirely. I have spent the past 36 hours trying to figure out how Witkoff could hold these opinions, and the only thing that makes sense is that Witkoff has some kind of financial relationship with the government of Qatar.
Qatar is in a strong relationship with the CIA.
The neocons in the USA also take Qatari money.
Qatar is bad news; really bad news. It has been this way for a long time.
We need to watch this carefully as it unfolds.
And the past few days of watching Witkoff made me so hopeful.

My initial reaction to your article Sundance was that he was negotiating through Tucker. Why would you call out Qatar publicly when they are a mediator? His true feelings about them may in fact be aligned with the understanding of who Qatar really is. But there is no need to call them out in this forum.

I had a list of alarm bells going off as I listened, the bit about establishing a narrative of being under assault seemed strangely forced and disingenuous, as if it was simply placing a marker for a future purpose.

BTW President Trump thanked Qatar for releasing an American hostage from the grips of the Taliban in Afghanistan this past Friday. Qatar is the financial arm (stolen US tax dollars) for all of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorists/CIA.

I have been wondering “what the heck” since Witkoff’s overly long and rambling press conference in the drizzle when it looked like Press Sec. I never understood why Witkoff negotiated a deal with the lying liars for only 33 of the hostages to be released. Phase 1 involved the release of 33 hostages held by Hamas, including some believed to be deceased, in exchange for approximately 1,900 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. That left 59 hostages (some of which had been killed by Hamas) still in captivity. That was a big stupid mistake.
Witkoff said that Hamas had all kinds of opportunities for peace and they elected not to. What did he really expect? They have vowed to destroy Israel. They’re not going to change.

Personally I don’t believe Witkoff was “duped” by Hamas I believe he is naive and ignorant with regards to Hamas. Anyone who knows the decades long history of hamas is not at all surprised at their behavior. The whole notion of a sustained agreement with hamas is absurd. In their entire history they have never sustained a truce or ceasefire, they repeatedly broke cease fires and truces. The only reason to make a cease fire is to get the hostages out and then afterwards break the ceasefire and go in and get them all. There is no moral compunction to honor a ceasefire with hamas as they never have, plus any agreement negotiated under duress is invalid. I feel Witkoff, though well meaning and perhaps a decent negotiator, has demonstrated a lack of knowledge of the players, unless he is using deception as a tactic, which is possible.
I think PDJT made the greatest demonstration of “non pretending” when he issued his plan for Gaza. In a nutshell he articulated what everyone knowing the situation basically knows but would not say. PDJT could see what Gaza could be with that great Mediterranean location and he stated what we could all see: that Gaza could be a Riviera. But more importantly he stated what no one would say. Everyone can see that Gaza could be a Riviera if it was populated by normal people but no one can see that outcome with the existent population there. PDJT saw the problem and saw a way to remove that problem by removing the folks who are the problem. He knows that the embedded culture is way too strong to ever result in a Riviera in Gaza. I note that he talked about temporary and permanent relocation of the population. I think he also clearly sees who is responsible for the problem and wants them to take responsibility for that problem, to shoulder the costs and burden that they created. The surrounding Arab states created the problem in 1948 when they refused to accept the UN partition and attacked Israel. When they attacked Israel they broadcast to the Arabs there that they should leave and return with the conquering Arab armies and take the properties of the defeated Jews. Since then the same players have funded terrorism and kept those refugees in a separate status from all other world refugees by creating the UNRWA which instead of getting the refugees absorbed in their own Arab Muslim nations they kept them in camps and fed them jihad. If they want peace and stability they should pay the damages and absorb the refugees they created. In the same conflict close to 900,000 Jews were driven from those Arab lands to be absorbed by Israel and other lands and no one compensated them. It could be viewed as a population swap like what happened with India and Pakistan. Trump is the only world leader to see the elephant in the room, all the others just want to keep repeating the status quo. Also, I can see Trumps brilliance in getting a huge mideast military base in Gaza for free that cannot be taken away. It would be a fantastic location that could be permanent and not dependent on whims of foreign nations. The USA depends a lot on Turkey and Arab bases but in the past they have restricted US use of those bases. Turkey is currently harboring Hamas, causing problems in NATO, funding and enabling the Syrian jihadis as their proxy and might end up being a problem to the USA.
