At the conclusion of a G7 summit in Quebec, Canada, Secretary of State Marco Rubio talks about the geopolitical realities of coming to a place where a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia is possible.
This is a very solid outline from Marco Rubio who appears to have found his ideal career position as U.S. Secretary of State. Rubio simply shines in this role. This is a 20-minute press conference where Rubio weaves through the narrative engineering, and puts the bigger picture of national security, economic security, and pragmatic U.S. foreign policy into a very well-presented package.
As the Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick interview yesterday was a ‘must watch’ segment, so too is this press conference by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. WATCH:
.

Time will tell, but at this early point I think 2028 will come down to a contest between Vance and Rubio. DeSantis looks completely irrelevant at this point and a non factor.
I still don’t trust him. And since he finalized the USAID cuts everything has started up again. Riots vandals protests swatting all of it. Like the cash got turned back on. Maybe the cash is coming from somewhere else, but they’re suddenly active again.
Maybe DOGE should be an ongoing thing, like the crew that paints the Golden Gate Bridge. As soon as they finish, they go back to the beginning and do it again.
Supposedly that’s the job of an Inspector General. Somehow it doesn’t work when they hire people with no integrity or morals
Go figure.
The IG’s are hired from and by the very same agency they are supposed to oversee.
C’mon, Man! What could possibly go wrong within THAT scenario? Never mind.
Like Horowitz the coward. Made me wanna puke.
There are other sources and it’s not like they had zero dollars in their bank accounts. Likely there’s still millions of dollars in the accounts that will dry up as time goes on.
Billions! 😏
Yep … Like Arabella Advidors. TONS OF MONEY.
Soros and others are funding the unrest.
Why does America tolerate his kind of corruption and damages?
Many other countries have solved that problem by banning his presence, foundations and financial leverage.
Because “America” is the USSA, and Ruled by the Oligarchs. They “Tolerate” each other quite well, Comrade.
The USSA ProgreSSive Socialist Bolshevik FOUNDATIONS $$$$ , Rockefeller $, Carnegie $, Ford $, Bloomberg $, DuPont?, Vanderbilt? Rothschild-USA $, Schiff Family $-(Adam), Duke?, …. so many Foundations from Ultra wealthy historic families from the 1920s.
and then the Ivy League College Foundations, and recent International Corporists … Waltons, Murdochs, Bezos, etc. Political Grifters like the Clintoons, Bushies, Koch, ….
My info is very limited, btw. Suffice it to be said the USSA is Ruled by Oligarchs …. in league with their NWO cousins.
their power has limits, thankfully, as shown by recent events here in the U.S.
This x1000. The internationalist all hate us and all love money. (to 1rst order) President Trump has a faction of internationalists backing him who love money more than they hate us, and want President Trump to stop the faction that now controls the Democrat Party from destroying the country because it is the source of their money/profitstream. They are behind him, but only to a limit. They want Dem lunacy neutralized, but they do NOT want the old Republic restored.
Soros and his fellow travelers hate us more than they love money. They are delighted to steal from us via USAID and OGA and use that money to attack us, but if the government money dries up, they WILL start spending their own money to attack us. It is a mistake to dismiss these people as mere grifters like so many of the trash that infest the donor class of both the Democratic and Republican parties. They are never going to stop because attacking the existence of Western Civilization is who and what they are.
Hear, hear, Horace and GenEarly! The internationalists are above borders, and thus above the laws contained in those borders.
Why isn’t he and his kid outlawed from the U.S. like they are in so many other countries?
I realize that we’re supposedly running a Republic here in the good ‘ol US of A, with “free speech” and all of its “safeguards.” But still, where in the Constitution does it say it’s okay to denigrate the principles, integrity and safety of this country and it’s people because you love Marxist Communism and unbridled power?
IMO George and his son need to get the boot! Both figuratively and literally! fgs & his libtard kid!
Cash is no longer going out; however, remember, hundreds of millions has been distributed. Money is still out there- it will dry up. I think it is drying up. Yes, there’s a lot going on but the crowds are getting smaller and smaller at certain protests or when Democrats speak. This, IMO, is a result of money drying up and they are now forced to better pick and choose…right now, all in on Tesla sabatoge and supporting Hamas via the idiot they support not deporting. I’m not saying his name.
You mean the idiot MI6 operative that looks like Z mans younger brother?
That’s the one Dutch.
😂
I have to say, you made me go look at his pic…LMFAO…you’re spot on.
Almost looked like his dang twin.
I never, ever thought of buying a Tesla. We are now,.
Tesla, or any other EV for that matter, will never be bought by anyone in my family.
EV’s are not a practical vehicle whatsoever…price, electrical hookups, traveling distance and charging stations, sitting on a huge battery (what could go wrong), getting locked in or out of the vehicle, large fire hazard.
I owned a Honda Civic Hybrid when I worked to commute. It was the perfect car, reliable and cheap in gas. However, when I retired and moved to the mountains, I couldn’t get a fast kick to turn left let alone up and down a mountain road. I sold it and bought a Ford Edge – great car. We have a friend that have a Tesla and commute to work over 70 miles. He loves it.
What the heck happened to hybrids? They are an excellent cross-gap.
Ford has been producing tri-fuel cars (gasoline, electric, alcohol) cars in Brazil for decades.
And it has the potential to be hacked and controlled remotely, as do a lot of new vehicles.
I have felt the same way until recently. But if leftists want to sell their Tesla cheap to make a statement, it wouldn’t make a bad short run vehicle. Besides that, in my state the inspections each year are a pain.
EVs are a niche market. They aren’t practical everywhere nor for everyone, but for some they’d be worth it.
I’ll drive my 23 year old truck until its wheels come off, but due to the nature of my work and lifestyle, I put barely 3000 miles on it in a year and my longest trip in the last year was less than a hundred miles.
If sane energy policies like nuclear become a thing between now and when my truck gives out, I’d evaluate based on cost of electricity versus gas (or hydrogen might even be viable by then) and make what is the best economic decision for me then.
As long as EVs aren’t being subsidized any more than any other vehicle (none should be in an ideal world) they have as much of place in the market as anything else.
What kills me, is the Modi.
India produces a short run car for the urban market: it runs on compressed air!
5 minutes to fill up. 100% green. It’s touted as having a 200 mile range, but that’s almost certainly bollocks. Still, with the quick fillup using run-of-the-mill air compressors, even a 60 mile range would be great for city driving. And no unquenchable lithium fires!
From what I can find on the net…..there was a developmental air car in India by MTA not
Modi (Modi is the name of the premiere pf the country of India).
Do you have other info or links?
Disregard please as I’m off topic asking this question.
Sorry.
Good point.
Maybe, but I think I know why. I came upon this article a few days ago & when I read it, I thought “oh, no!”
“It’s Rescission Time”
“The politicians who run the GOP on Capitol Hill are about ready to rug-pull Elon Musk and his patron in the Oval Office big time. That is, the so-called “clean CR [continuing resolution]” that Speaker Johnson is apparently cooking up will ratify the entirety of the runaway spending in the last Biden budget, thereby cancelling virtually every single dime that the DOGE operation has purportedly saved….”
https://ronpaulinstitute.org/its-rescission-time/
So far, President Trump has showed a mastery of the intricasies of Presidential navigation of the complexities needed to obtain whatbhe needs from Congress; he got all of his essential cabinet nominees confirmed, and in record time…
He got House Republicans to quickly pass this CR, which he says he needs, and he even flipped the script on the Dems, playing of shutdown over budget russian roulette, forcing them to vote for The CR.
Internationally, he has teamed up with President Putin to similar to the Dems, put the globulusts in a headlock, and force them to abandon their insane goal of conquering Russia.
And yet somehow, he’s getting hornswaggled, on this CR and his greatest tool forvdefeatingvthe deep state (Doge) is being made irrelevent?
I don’t THINK so.
Great analysis Dutchman.
Yeah, Trump surrendered on the CR. Hey, he can’t fight on every front, and he’s got a lot of fronts.
Spending and the debt is a massive issue, but remember, MAGA at core is about: Ending the lust for constant foreign wars, the borders and illegal invasion, and the economy and trade.
Fix those 3, and you help fix spending and debt (over time). I agree with his strategery, even though I’d love to slash $1-2T immediately if not sooner.
But folks should stop bleating “we won”. It’s an effin’ CR. It’s a loss by definition, no matter that some allow themselves to be gas lighted otherwise.
Didn’t Sundance say the UK is funding some of this turmoil in the USA?
The good news we can do some science on that. Bad news is we have to put up with yet more crap to test. CUT THE FUNDS…AGAIN.
I wish Rubio was at DHS or DOJ, instead of SOS.
Marco has found his forte’; don’t deny him that.
He is a very talented and intelligent man.
President Trump knew what he was doing when he nominated Marco for Secretary of State.
And recall how many of us, myself included opposed his nomination?
Just shows to go you, as my Dad used to say.
I for one, so far, tip my cap to sec Rubio. One of the few pleasant surprises of the Trump2 admin.
…and, I was with you in not loving this nomination when it was first announced
Hats off to you for aknowledging we were wrong; it just means we LEARNED something.
So many resist admitting they were wrong, as if its something to be ashamed of, and many even refuse to commitvtoba position, because they fear being wrong.
I feel its far more beneficial, and,…freeing to see recognition of an error as meaning we LEARNED something, hence a positive, even liberating recognition.
So, Congradulations, I salute you, lol.
I ‘ll never stop looking for ulterior motives with any politician (VPJDV has his Theil/Palantir ties for example), but it is worth remembering that people CAN change for the better when given the opportunity.
I think a lot of elected politicians start with good intentions, but get compromised, often deliberately, but sometimes via setup and I think at the national level nearly all of them have compromising material manufactured against them if they don’t have any already.
I’d like to think that most people would be looking for a way out of that, so when offered a lifeline, they’ll thereafter try to be a better person. But that’s hope, not certainty.
What is true right now is that Rubio’s future ambitions within a Republican party that has become MAGA-ascendant align with President Trump’s agenda. It is in his interests to be MAGA which is good for now, but does make his long term loyalty murkier.
Keep giving someone opportunities to be good though and they might find they like it.
Marco is way more articulate than I realized. And he is very good breaking down complex problems into clear, understandable , interlocking pieces. Also very good and fast on his feet answering questions. Also clearly refers to President Trump as the ultimate decision maker on policy issues and he, Rubio, supports them.
Yes he has.
And he has just told the South African Ambassador to remove his foul carcass from our country.
https://redstate.com/streiff/2025/03/14/marco-rubio-tells-south-africas-terror-simping-ambassador-to-get-the-heck-out-of-dodge-n2186680
Why do you feel that, John-Y?
We need to quiet the world to get our own home in order. Use the anology of a home alarm. What good is a home alarm if crime is rampant in your community? You need to get a handle on the community to then be safe in your home. But yes, Rubio is a gem.
I’m not worried or even curious about 2028; way too early.
The Apprentice: Empire Edition.
We’ve years to go, and the only I dog I have in that fight is America herself.
But it’s a brilliant first season!
Indeed Maquis!
I waited up for you; HA!
Best….
Perfect analogy. Too early to tell who will win the title. Lots of big talent auditioning. Rubio will have a lot of opportunity to shine in such a high visibility role. Interesting times ahead. So happy they are learning from the master.
My feeling as well. We have seen just enough to know that the World in 2028 is going to be such a different world from today, that we can not imagine it!
Agree wholeheartedly. I suspect some (not all) of this early betting on Vance versus Rubio is meant to sow seeds of discontent among Trump’s team.
Yes. More worries about 2026 and loosing the house.
The midterms will be focused on our economy. not so much foreign policy..
I don’t think it’s close; Vance has too much of a following. Rubio has burned too many bridges- he’s doing well as SOS but I will never forget his time on the SSCI.
I actually was not at all fond of Vance,…but he has impressed me mightily.
He is playing a critical role on the team, and that Munich speech was like PDJT’s 2016 Inaugeration speech, an in your face throwing down the gauntlet (or slapping the eurowienies in the face, dual challenge style) like PDJT’s speech was to the Uniparty elites.
Calling them out on their dictatorial human rights abuses, was very much a part of President Trumps approach on Ukraine and on trade.
“If you continue to ignore/suppress the voices of your own people,..well then WE can’t help you.”
This administration TEAM is taking on the Globullust cabal in an existential battle of titanic proportions.
And it’s glorious to watch.
I’d certainly put Lutnick it that group.
Oh, very much so.
And, listen to PDJT’s speech at the DOJ; he understands that Kash, Bondi and the team he is still placing at DOJ/FBI have the toughest task of any on his team, and that its gonna take awhile, and he continues to prop them up, while nudging them, saying the voters who elected him expect Justice.
Don’t ever count out a Governor (usually make better Presidents than Senators), including Kristi Noem and Glenn Youngkin. Republicans have quite an accomplished bullpen.
I watched the interview earlier today and was immediately impressed by Marco’s performance. He was absolutely terrific!
The media showing themselves to be lacking judgment, shallow and not listening to or understanding the answers.
25 minutes condensed to two questions and answers:
What’s going on with the Ukraine War?
We are cautiously optimistic and I’m not going into specifics in a press conference.
What about tariffs?
We are resetting the baseline. If a country charges us “X” we charge them “X” and we negotiate from there.
Yes, amazingly he seems to be very good as a Secretary of State. Much better than I ever had any inkling. What a nice surprise….and what he says is sensible, pragmatic, straight forward, and diplomatic.
None of the wily scheming, the constructed “stories” we couldn’t help but detect behind Jake Sullivan and Tony Blinken.
As SoS, Marco has put on his Big Boy pants.
Yes. So glad that PDJT recognized his talent and tapped into it.
Secretary Rubio handled himself extremely well.
It appears that both he and Vance are learning from their boss.
Cheers!
Perhaps he has located his sweet spot in government, but I still don’t him, because of his RINO lineage. My position may change in the future, but trust is based on actions, not press conference and promises.
How many Treepers remember when Rush Limbaugh was alive and Marco Rubio was elected to the Senate via the Tea Party Route?
Well, Rush always had great expectations for Marco. He put him up there at the Presidential level.
I made a point of watching and listening to Marco’s speeches on the floor of the Senate and I was equally impressed. However, I couldn’t see a President Rubio when he was speaking.
What I will impart is that Rush is looking down on us smiling on Marco because God has placed him right where he wants him to be.
So, looks like President Donald John Trump gets his picks right, once in awhile.
I’ve always liked Marco’s personality, even when he was jousting with others during the presidential campaign.
I was thinking earlier today what a better VO choice he would have made in 2016.
Ugh VP
Rubio saying there are two tracks: 1 a ceasefire and 2 a long term arrangement is the reverse opposite of Russia’s point of view – namely there will only be a ceasefire if the long term arrangement is in place.
So it looks like the fighting wont end until, well, the end
It’s all part of the negotiation. Putin said he agrees in principle.
This has been a huge step in the right direction. If the Dems were in the WH right now we’d be talking about enlistments and nuclear war.
Patience.
Yep, remember durbin floating the idea of draft.
It surely will take extraordinary measures to get Russia to stand down on a contact line 2,000 kilometers long with a treacherous enemy that has engaged in outrageous provocations a decade before this war began.
Ukraine cannot be trusted not to create a conflict that will be portrayed as a Russian aggression by the MarxMerdia.
Have we forgotten so soon that Ukrainians have been assaulting nuclear power plant, active and inactive, and was seeking to capture a nuclear power plant in Kursk to hold hostage?
No, it doesn’t look like the fighting can stop before a real agreement, Admiral Akbar advises against such an attempt.
I have said all along, the challenge is to be able to give Russia and President Putin security guarantees.
And, while President Putin, at the outset laid out minimum conditions he felt must be in place; remove Z man, real elections, a neutral Ukraine, etc. it really goes farther than that.
The only real security guarantee for Russia, is regime change in GB, Germany and France, i.e. the “leadership” of the EU, and so more broadly the coalition of Globulusts intent on breaking up Russia and plundering it.
And, President Putin can not accomolish that,…no matter how big his army.
But, working with President Trump, together they can…
Both Presidents have a common enemy..
I admire and respect your your understanding of the situation and agree 100%.
EU is dirty. NATO is also dirty, Zelensky filthy dirty, among other entities I won’t mention here.
Perhaps, a strong alliance of U.S.A. with Russia is a possible solution?
For instance: what if President Trump and President Putin were to Ally together and demand that Zelenzky step down and allow a fair election, in exchange for a temporary cease fire?
What if USA standing with Russia militarily simply forced the cease fire?
I think a peaceful resolution could be made quickly and efficiently, ending the war, and simultaneously, sending a clear message to the EU, NATO, WEF, and the whole NWO Cabal.
It might also then be possible to solve some of the other problems standing in the way of lasting peace around the world.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
There are great ball players playing 2nd base whose natural position is shortstop SOS Rubio has found his natural position. Enjoy the game.
He makes complete sense and stated it quite well.
So far so good with Marco, better than expected…..but Mike Pompeo talked a good game as Trump’s SoS….until he didn’t.
No, Pompeo was always a snake, never liked or trusted him.
I see no duplicity in this new and improved Marco, and actually I think what we were seeing BEFORE, was a compromised, even threatened Marco, and what we are seeing now is a ‘freed’ and so being himself Marco.
Pompeo, a West Point alum and CIA Director, PROUDLY announced on camera he-we “lie, cheat and steal”.
He became “THE Snake”.
True.
My observation tells me that lasting peace can never succeed if based on lies.
He and Lutnick are very good at explaining the President’s positions, plans and reasoning behind them. It makes it hard for the msm to spin their responses, although if you listen to the way the press phrases their questions, they sure do try hard to get a gotcha sound bite. Rubio and Lutnick are very good at not giving them one.
Trump and Rubio can lead the two mules to water, but can they get them to actually drink?
Stay tuned.
The mules in need of persuasion are the puppetmasters behind Zman and the whole NATO encroachment going back decades.
Russia needs no leading or persuasion.
Obviously Trump thinks he does.
I think you read the leaves in correctly.
I agree. President Putin didn’t want the war with Ukraine. If he had, he would have started it.
An honest friend could could work wonders though, IMO. The seeayeyay must be reigned in. Period. Full stop.
Rubio displayed wisdom and patience with the badgering media.
Rubio did not overstep his broad position as SOS.
Rubio displayed a broad knowledge of tariffs and history. Especially a history of the Russian borders…even though he quickly sidestepped the soon to be worked out new Russia/Ukraine border.
Rubio displayed loyalty to his boss.
Rubio used to strike me a bullshit artist.
I’m starting to like Rubio. 🕶️✝️🕶️
Me too. He thinks quickly on his feet, is intelegent, and a good, strong speaker.
Impressive.
If Rubio gets awarded Nobel Peace Prize, its the Deep State grooming him to do their bidding once Trump leaves the scene.
lol. Yes the most prestigious prizes became globalist participation trophies. Man of The Year, Pulitzers, etc.
They couldn’t wait to give it to our first DEI President, Barry Sotero, after three months in office. Even Barry was embarrassed by the award.
That’s a big if, I think. We already know who the chief peacemaker is. 😉
Well, they will never give the Prize to Trump, that’s for sure!
I think everyone needs to re-visit the first Battle of Kursk (1943) in order to understand what comes next. You do realize that battle is Russia’s equivalent to our Battle of the Bulge, right? I guess Nazis think if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again?
Maybe when they’ve lost enough times they will come to understand the error of their ways.
At what point are you going to look at the remaining regions and see people awaiting liberation by the Russians? The people of Odessa are waiting and are prone to murdering TCC Officers. I notice no one questions why there is almost no subversive activity once the Russians have liberated a town/region. (Mariupol is almost rebuilt!)
I agree that Rubio did a good job at explaining and keeping his head about him. After hearing the first question to him and then his response, I thought, “This is gonna be good”. I was not disappointed.
I think the goal is Vance/Rubio in 2028.
Actually, the goal is to have any number of nominees, each of whom are true MAGA, and would make an excellent POTUS, …AND to have set things up so that they are in a position to build on a fabulous foundation.
From your mouth to God’s ears I pray.
Emer de Vattel’s “The Law of Nations” (1758) defined “natural-born citizen” as someone born in the country to parents who are citizens.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 10, grants Congress the power “To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations”.
Usurpation of the US presidency is as least treason, or “offences against the Law of Nations”
The book used for foreign policy by George Washington, Jon Jay and Thomas Jefferson is the Law of Nation above, and is the book referred to in the US constitution. The Thomas Jefferson Library in the Library of Congress in D.C. has 4 of these books.
Obama, Rubio, Cruz cannot be President because they all have parents that were not citizens at the time of their birth. Cruz was born in Canada.
This issue is before the courts right now. Trump is deporting “anchor babies” that are not citizens, because the parents do not reside in the US legally. Non-citizen parents that are resided in the US legally, and have a child born on US soil have a US citizen child that can never become President of the US. Parents that are US citizens (does not matter how they became citizens) and have a child born on US soil under the US flag, have a natural born citizen child that is eligible to become President later in life.
Giving thanks to God for the leadership of President Trump and his cabinet. Glad to see Rubio stepping up. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
As for Canada 🇨🇦+🇺🇸 becoming the 51st State or Territory ?
Being negotiated at this moment with the BIG 3 + Steel and Aluminum companies.
It is inevitable a ECONOMIC NORTH AMERICAN PACT IS COMING.
(Period)
Compare Rubio to Lavrov and it’s easy to see what league Rubio belongs to when it comes to diplomacy. He has been ok thus far but I don’t think he has the backbone that Vance seems to have.
Compared to Lavrov. Rubio seems to be on The Little League
Rubio is transparent.
Blinken was a compulsive liar.
It’s refreshing.
I wondered about Rubio at first, but thought he might manage South America better than past SOSs. Very glad to see he is both loyal and larger than that.
Masterful
This presser shows how brainwashed and idiotic the press corp is. They can’t even grasp basic concepts that Rubio explains, whats even more amazing is these correspondants actually think they are intelligent. Rubio see’s right through them and stays on point, good job Marco!
“…these correspondants actually think they are intelligent”…
Boy you hit the nail on the head with that one. They think they are so clever the way they phrase questions only to be shown how really stupid they and their questions really are when they come up against someone that knows the subject matter.
Can you believe we had a total lightweight like Tony Blinken as SecState for four years?
The difference between Blinken and Rubio is starker than night and day.
Blinken put IC (globalist) interests before US interests. That’s the difference.
The similarity is that both served the expressed wishes and policies of the president.
That’s assuming Biden was competent.
I don’t know who to hate more… Democrats or the mockingbird media…🤔
Fools who think they are wise earn contempt. Compare Schumer and AOC to the White House press corp.
I have to admit that I actually have come to appreciate Rubio now. I had previously dismissed the foam party boy as too corrupt by virtue of his Congress days, but he seems to be striving to actually carry out his duty as Secretary of State on an America First basis. Give credit where credit is due.
I think that Trump made several excellent cabinet choices, including this man. Indeed, he is in firm command of the role, under immediately challenging circumstances.
Pray to the Prince of Peace to give them all discernment and wisdom and courage.
Thank you for posting this clip, Sundance.
I learned a lot and gained significant respect for Rubio. Agreed that he was masterful in handling the press conference and is doing an excellent job.
I don’t think this is rocket science, Putin said no NATO on his border and enforced it at the expense of thousands of lives. That was EU, and USA trying to start a conflict. Now, Syria has been liberated from Assad, which was a reason IMHO to start the conflict.
Putin can’t put that back together without a huge war. Was that the intent? How did a revolutionary force assemble and win so quickly? That whole thing may be in the peace plans also.
He’s awesome
Vance – Rubio 2028
That was a very good press conference by SOS Rubio. He had control and kept control. I was impressed and I agree with some in the comments that he could definetely be a contender in 2028. Time will tell.
I find Rubio very easy to listen to. I think it is the clarity of his speech pattern and his voice..very even tone, very “clean” for lack of a better word. Very emotionless in a sense…straightforward.
I get the slightest hint of a lisp which slightly distracts me.
Zelensky has named the negotiating team from Ukraine. What is interesting is that Ukraine’s goal is not a lasting peace, but a “just peace”.
Help!
First time video has blank black screen : “Video unavailable”
“This video is restricted. Please check the Google Workspace administrator and/or the network administrator restrictions”
NVM got it fixed. Thanks
I could see a Vance/Rubio ticket in 28…I hope Rubio can hang on to his MAGA enthusiasim & I also hope it’s natural and not an act…He’s definitley a smart cookie.
I still wonder why all the radical Democrat Senators voted to confirm Rubio…the only nominee to be confirmed unanimously, minus the vacancy by JD Vance.
I see there are some here who don’t fully trust Rubio, which is understandable, but his professionalism, knowledge of situations and general diplomacy I find very impressive. He is certainly an upgrade from Antony Blinken and has earned himself a seat at the adult table.
He defers to President Trump often, as he should, and I think the president is well served by this appointment. Equally important, he projects a persona that I think earns respect from world leaders, many of whom do not project the sobriety and sanity that we have a right to expect.
Marco Rubio is the real deal. In 2023 he wrote a book, “Decades of Decadence,” which I recently started reading. Allow me to quote from the Introduction, where he discusses the result of America’s elite buying into Fukuyama’s “end of history” thesis:
“Rather than shoring up our manufacturing capacity, businesses exported jobs to places like Mexico and China, leaving many American workers without the means to provide for their families. Rather than placing our trust in institutions, we took them for granted and began carelessly destroying those institutions. And rather than enacting policies that put key values such as family and community at their center, we came to focus on consumption above all else. Americans, who see themselves as workers, fathers, and citizens, came to be viewed by policymakers as simply consumers who bought products – nothing more.”
“This is a book about what happens when a country’s elite decide that all the things that brought our nation to this success are, in fact, the things we most urgently need to bring to an end. The “end of history” began a conflict in American society that we still live through every day, a conflict we consistently get wrong.”
Now me again. We can’t fully understand the conflict in which we are currently engaged until we 1) recognize that it is a conflict of beliefs, and 2) understand the belief systems of those we oppose. The philosophical foundation upon which the past 35 years of American government policies has rested was wrong, a pipe dream. President Trump gets it. VP Vance gets it. Oren Cass gets it. And Secretary Rubio gets it. Fakers always utter a false note that crashes their whole facade. Marco Rubio is the real deal.
I look forward to finishing the book.
It’s astounding to see just how stupid, arrogant and dishonest the corporate media/propaganda magpies are. They have no interest whatsoever in speaking or discovering truth.
They spent the entire presser trying to bait Secretary Rubio into giving them a hot take clickbait sound bite. Shameful!
God bless Secretary Rubio. He remained calm, spoke authoritatively, and firmly shut down asinine questions from the children in the media pool.
Having said that, can we all slow down on the Rubio/Vance 2028 speculation? It’s been 55 days. Celebrate the wins for sure. Be happy about the performance of Rubio and Lutnick and others. But let’s cool our jets a little bit about coronating anyone for future elections.
Rubio always was polished and presented himself well (as of course do the beauty pageant contestants who get themselves hired as local news reporters). But now he has something very, VERY substantive to present. AVE CHRISTUS REX!!!
There appears to be no dayl8ght between Rubio and Trump 45-47 and I find this astounding and I hope I am not being deceived.
Trump has full control of this matter, and has prepped Foamboy well. Either he follows the script, or another of Trump’s lieutenants will be selected to follow that script. That’s the working environment Trump has created, within the President’s Constitutional powers re foreign policy.
Rubio is articulate, and his responses indicate a great understanding of the dynamics of the issues – Ukraine war, Tariffs/economics etc. I really hope he did have an epiphany away from his globalist/anti-nationalist cooption that he went through a few years ago. We could really use someone with his talents committed to this side.
Once Trump gave Rubio a chance to act like a statesman, and got him out and away from senior Congressional snakes treating him like a shoeshine boy and deriding him with “bubblebath cabana boy” smears, Rubio took to it like a fish denied water.
Trump gave him a chance to be a man, and now has gained a loyal bulldog.
Rubio has been a huge surprise. Either he has become MAGA or he is one heck of an actor. Any Repub who hasn’t figured out by now that the American Bolsheviks would do to any Republican who isn’t secretly one of them the same way they treated Trump.
Hit send prematurely. Any Repub…is hopeless.
Step 1. Get rid of the Zelensky military junta illegally ruining the nation of Ukraine. Oh wait! You skipped that? Why would you miss the most important step? Oh, the CIA told you hands off, it’s their baby. Got it.
Always trust in SD. Notice how Rubio states: lets wait for the “emissary” to get back to find out what was discussed. No phone calls or messages. Even the reporter asks didn’t you get some kind of update?
