Knowing that President Trump has essentially stopped the Ukraine/NATO/IC/EU offensive combat operations for Ukraine that use western supplied drones/missiles with complete reliance on U.S/NATO targeting, it does not come as a surprise to see Ukraine President Zelenskyy call for a “sky and sea truce.”
Zelenskyy’s proposal for Russia to stop the air and sea combat operations, while simultaneously supporting frontline combat operations, is essentially an EU effort to maintain the fight by counteracting the Trump pressure point.
EU spokesperson Volodymyr Zelenskyy doesn’t factually want a ceasefire; they want a situation that retains the status quo and neuters Russia’s strategic advantage.

President Trump knows there is no external pressure that can weaken the strategic advantages of Russia. The only substantive action that would impact Putin would be U.S. military to join even deeper with Ukraine, and that’s not about to happen.
The only option to bring both to the table with the same mindset is to force Zelenskyy (essentially the EU) to accept peace, establish the first framework for a ceasefire then proceed to negotiations for a lasting peace settlement.
Forcing Zelenskyy/EU to accept peace is a matter of stopping U.S. support for the EU/Ukraine war effort. President Putin is already in a position to negotiate; it’s the intransigence of the EU/Zelenskyy tribe that is the current focus.
In addition to extreme economic outcomes as a result of potential tariffs on the EU, the complete withdrawal from NATO is an arrow in the strategic quiver of Trump.

That’s why the US sanctions on the EU are so important. I’m getting very depressed. I still think PDJT will be able to pull through a peace accord between Ukraine and Russia, but unfortunately I fear France, possibly Germany, and the eastern countries in the EU (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland) will continue with a cold war agaisnt Russia. Since they will never be able to compete with Russia regarding conventional arms, they may start to develop unconventional weapons (ie WMD). Then we will be in a 1914 or Dr Strangelove situation.
I have for many many years wished for the death and destruction of EU. Without this bureaucratic monster it would be much much harder for the European countries to form any kind of military union (at least without the USA). As someone noted below: We know who our real enemies are now!
I think that Trump will end up saying ‘we’re out’. The EU thinks they can outwit, outlast and out-manoeuvre Trump. That’s what happens when you foolishly believe your own propaganda.
The EU is going to collapse, likely much sooner than I thought in light of their recent insanity.
PDJT will almost assuredly obtain peace – at least for a time. The EU may attempt to go cold war, but they will do so alone and in ever greater poverty as a result of their continual very poor decisions.

From the picture, I would say there is a loyal opposition to the EU stance within the NATO construct. Europeans have always been very poor at using diplomacy to stop or prevent wars. I am optimistic about the PDJT effort to stop the conflict and save us the expense of propping the dictators Zelenskyy and Putin up. Only the USA can make a difference, as usual.
I personally would not put Zelenskyy and Putin in the same category.

He should have walked away on Jan 21st, called it Biden’s War, signed the EO’s required to withdraw all Americans from Ukraine, stopped all information sharing, etc, in that big stack of EO’s he signed back then.
Had he done that, he wouldn’t have left himself open to the accusation Ukraine only lost because Trump abandoned them, which the Europeans are now creating in their fake news narrative, which will be picked up in the US fake news narratives when the current Russian offensive creates a decisive Ukrainian defeat. There will be no peace agreement until the green thug Zelenskyy is replaced in an actual election, and every inch of Russian soil, including Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhe and Kherson
is free of Ukrainian military.
There will be no ceasefire until an actual peace treaty is made. This war is lost to NATO, and the stakes are too high, and the west too sketchy for Russia to rely on empty “words”.
Sanctions strengthen Russia at this point. Trump needs to walk away, taking all our military out of Ukraine. No more dollars or assistance.
Kursk is all but over, thank God the surviving Ukranians are starting to mass surrender. The guilty of war crimes will be punished, the conscripts live to help rebuild the ruins we made of their country.
Every week the likelihood of the complete collapse of Kiev regime forces increases. Which is likely the best outcome for a lasting peace for Europe.
Ultimately restoring actual democracies in Western Europe may happen as a consequence of this insanity. Or they will continue to decay in the trajectory the EU is on, into squalid, failed states. Bickering, squabbling and impotent husks of once proud nations.
