Previously French President Emmanuel Macron refused to commit to putting French troops together with U.K troops on the ground in Ukraine. Politically in France, Macron is on the ropes.
Obviously, such a direct commitment of troops into Ukraine would put tenuously positioned Macron in an even worse position. However, putting French technical support systems into place to replace the withdrawn U.S. targeting system just sounds better.
So, as the optics of French politics present, yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket – Macron goes that way.
Stepping into the spotlight Macron said in an address to the nation on Wednesday that Russia was “a threat for France and Europe”, that the Ukraine was already a “global conflict” and that he would open a debate about extending the French nuclear umbrella to allies in Europe.
Macron also said that he plans next week to hold a meeting of army chiefs from European countries willing to send troops to Ukraine after any eventual peace deal with Russia. Macron told the people of France that his nation needs to be ready if the United States is no longer by its side.

Bear with me, cause he laid the groundwork back as”45″.
Remember when he told the NATO Countries he (the U.S.) would not protect them, if they were not CURRENT on their obligations, and of coarse billions flowed in.
Now, he also MENTIONED at that time, that just getting current (spending 2% of GDP THIS year) does not really “cut it”; that if they have been delinquent for many years, while the U.S. has consistently been at 4.5%, say….than they OWE a lot more, out of FAIRNESS.
So, nobody tried to impeach him, for telling the eurowienies we would not defend unless they pony up, thereby setting the precedent, and sewing the seeds with his comment about the past due.
Even if they get current, he can say “unless you make up for the MANY years you were delinquent, your on your own!” and its reasonable, and technically it is NOT withdrawing from NATO, although it effectively IS, as it eliminates the Article 5 obligation.

Ukraine is not in NATO. If a NATO country is attacked then technically the US is obliged according to the NATO charter to defend them. If the EU and the Brits choose to put troops in Ukraine, a non NATO country, and are attacked, the US is not obliged to defend them.
… and neither were NATO territories nor defensive interests involved in Iraq-Afghanistan, Libya, Ethiopia nor the Balkans … but NATO members voted to sanction missions OUTSIDE NATO Territory to these nations.
President Trump had to make it very very clear the US did not consider an EU intervention as being covered under NATO. By extension he also put them on notice the US would VETO any vote to have the mission to the Ukraine sanctioned by NATO

NATO’s Article 5 is an obligation for another NATO being attacked by an invading aggressor state. When signed, NATO members had the USSR and Warsaw Pact forces as a very real threat for that. That threat is gone, disappearing when the USSR and the Warsaw Pact dissolved.
It is not a cover-all blanket to protect against a NATO country stupidly venturing beyond the integrity of its own borders and getting attacked as a belligerent while within another country’s borders.
ARTICLE 6 makes it clear that extra-territorial attacks don’t count.

I can’t see Putin approving of any NATO nation’s troops in Ukraine to police a ceasefire. They will have to use some neutral nation’s troops. There aren’t many left west of Russia.

The best position for him to take would be to declare now that the positioning of troops in Ukraine by ANY NATO country would be viewed by the US as an act of aggression against Russia and nullify all US mutual defense obligations under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty to all NATO countries. IMHO, if we were attacked by China – the CCP-PRC – I would bet that NATO would not be at all helpful!
PDJT has already said that if they put troops in Ukraine and something happens where those troops are fired upon that it will not be grounds to invoke Article 5 of the NATO treaty. So they can try to put the squeeze on him all they want, it won’t work. However, I think he needs to clarify that if they put troops in Ukraine it will be on their own and will not in any way be an official act of NATO. Any attempt to label it as a NATO act should be flat out rejected by the U.S. Apparently there is no formal veto process, but if any one member refuses to give consent then then the action is rejected, if I understand it correctly. PDJT should make clear that the entry into Ukraine of the military of any NATO member state is an act of that state and not of NATO and it will not obligate the U.S. to do anything in support of them or require the U.S. to intervene if they are attacked by anyone.

I believe P Trump is an honest straight shooting fellow so he believes tariffs are needed. But imposing tariffs via an Executive Order seems extreme rather than to do it via USMCA trade negotiations. But his concern about the N. border and Fentanyl is legit and this is where slow to move Trudeau is responsible for the dispute.
But–Trudeau was thoroughly crushed by the Conservative party and was forced to resign. Rather than wait until he handed over his job to the new PM and wait for the outcome of the pending national election (a month in Canada) PT imposed the tariffs. Looking more clearly at this issue now, P Trump’s hastiness might genuinely be caused by his eagerness to stop the Fentanyl deaths and the election interference he caused was just bad timing. It might lead now to a new Lib PM rather than the formerly leading CPC leader.
Why Russia entered Ukraine is a mystery but it depends on how many actual Nazis (Azov) and others were harassing Russian speaking Ukrainians and engaging in attacks on Russians living close to the Ukraine border and of course Putin’s concerns about a NATO that was increasing its military and pushing for Ukraine to join NATO. sundance has written many detailed articles on the Dem USA’s behind the scenes involvement to direct a hot war with Russia. How much Putin’s own desires were to expand Russia’s borders are unknown

Carney was well known and respected by Liberals as an economic guru. Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre was never a vocal Trump hater but he had to defend Canada against the tariffs. P Trump has placed Pierre between a rock (Carney) and a hard place (Trump) If only the tariffs had held off Pierre would have won the election by a wide margin presumably.
I have no idea who the voters will select but Carney is the MSM’s golden boy and he is heavily promoted. Canada does not have a FOX alternative news source. The Conservatives are artfully exposing Carney on many past comments and actions but without a FOX News to help inform the people it’s up to podcasts etc do so. Pierre has promised to greatly reduce the CBC’s taxpayer funding and Trudeau’s multi $ million grants to the other news stations so they have ramped up their spin.
Note–I understand your points about delays on border control ie fentanyl and other issues but that is all on the anti Trump former Trudeau/Freeland alliance that impeded and backstabbed him on every front but to repeat, the Conservatives and a majority of Canadians had forced Trudeau to resign or be fired. Let’s hope our election will lead to a good result that will solve much of what you wrote.

Let’s see if I can wade through this post with a modest level of intelligence here…being from Texas, that might be seen as a point of discussion, as they say in these parts.
First – here are several Canadians who read and post here, and the vast majority of their posting isn’t illiterate gibberish. Only Trudeau and his minions’ words are.
As for President Trump’s blistering pace right now – he’s had a solid 4 years to prepare for this, today. The NATO situation was all his. His comments during his first term were all his – he had seen Europe renege on paying for decades. As a man dealing in business contracts all the time – this was a simple case of breach of contract. A treaty is nothing more than a contract between nations. That was all Trump.
I think President Trump was prepared to build upon that in 2020 going forward, but we both know what happened there.
A Europe muslim majority poses problems for the US, yes, but it also poses far more of a problem for the House of Saud in Saudi Arabia.
Muslims are split mainly between the Sunnis and the Shia varieties. House Saud, and Saudi Arabia is Sunni muslim. They steward the 2 most holy sites of Islam – Mecca and Medina. The Shia muslims – notably headed by Iran – have been frothing at the mouth to somehow take down Saudi Arabia, dethroning them as guardians of Medina and Mecca. This is something Saudi Arabia is very much aware of.
So Britain, France, and Germany fall to the muslim “refugees”. Which allegiance will they bow to? Sunni? or Shia? You can bet your bottom dollar Iran has its schemes in place, to take control of one of those countries and their nukes. A nuclear muslim France/Britain/Germany tied to Iran has huge implications for the Middle East (Israel and Saudi Arabia).
I’ll wager Klaus Schwab really wasn’t calculating that far ahead, thinking he could beat the muslim population bomb by 2030-2035. Without a nuclear war between the US and Russia…it isn’t happening. Western Europe, at the moment insane, next to be muslim – is a far bigger threat to world peace over the next 30-50 years, than Russia can dream to be.
NATO can increase its spending all it wants for basic equipment, basic material, manpower, and training. That’s not going to make Putin nervous. Russia’s hypersonic MIRV’s are more than a deterrent, and the EU will be driven bankrupt long before they can field militaries capable of making Russia nervous. Macron, von der Leyen, et. al. have the bloodlust, but they can only get their immediate gratification only if the US plays along – which, for the foreseeable future, isn’t happening.
Western Europe is only a threat to Russia so long as those countries can rely upon the nuclear arsenal and satellite technologies of the US. Without the US, Western Europe devolves to a nearly bankrupt romper room. Those countries have been committing a slow suicide for years – it would take civil wars within them to reclaim their cultures and countries. Russia wouldn’t want to invade that mess.
As for America…well, Trudeau is on record as declaring he will build his own nuclear arsenal to target at the US. The Prime minister of Ontario is on record as stating he will turn off the electric grid flowing into certain northern US states. You will need to understand, then, that the WEF – using the Trudeau government – is trying its best to turn Canada hostile to the US, to punish the US for not playing along in the game of global nuclear war. Ditto Mexico to our south, where Mexico has said they will fight to defend their Cartels. Alas and alack…
America addressing the grievances of what NAFTA did to the US manufacturing base and the US economy, coupled with the border issues (porous border, unfettered illegal immigration, and human/drug/arms trafficking) is rather being swept aside by the international community. As they say here – Big Mistake.
MAGA would love to take the Make – Great Again tour globally, but we must fix our problems here first. Basic first responder stuff, really – can’t help anyone else if you’re not prepared first. Then, one has to triage. Who gets helped first? Who can’t be helped? For Western Europe, it might be the proverbial “boil you an egg for a last snack” time – to far gone, and little time left before Western Europe dies by its own hand. Some people – just don’t want to be helped.
For your concerns…Western Europe will likely simply slide into Second, then Third World, status nations. Likely, they will become like the -stans of the former USSR…weak, globally powerless.
What remains of Europe will run from Switzerland eastward, through Central and east Europe. Russia will have no threat there, as they will instead prefer to build an East Europe trade zone there.

If any EU country puts troops o the ground in Ukraine they will not be seen as peacekeeping but instead they will be seen as a declaration of war against Russia.
If they are thinking of “air defense” systems, that’s a no go, because Trump has stopped Intel sharing which is needed for air defense.
The EU will have a difficult time mounting any kind of troop force, and their weapons are just not at the point where they can be used against Russia.
I think they are in an untenable position, unless the only reason for these threats is to establish martial law in the EU, by saying there is a military emergency. That would be very unfortunate for the people of Europe.
The problem for government in the EU and UK is that the native people of these countries has had it with globalist governments that are marginalizing their native populations and favoring mass Muslim immigration, despite all the cars ramming people, the Pakistani rape and grooming gangs, and Sweden being the rape capital of Europe. At this point Sweden has admitted they have lost control of their country. Now add to that by asking their native people to fight in a war they want no part of, and I think you have a serious case of “those who sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind.”
The UK is close to civil war, and in France, 90% of the people think negatively of Macron. With the leading party of Germany admitting they lied to the people during the campaign and are not planning on deporting the Muslims, I would guess the German people are feeling pretty humiliated and angry at this point.

The EU is close to going down in flames. Maybe Macron thinks that a war will solve all of that. The close to free lunch is over in the EU. People are going to be increasingly unhappy. But like us, the only way out is to adopt common sense and do things that earn rewards (as opposed to a free ride from the U. S.). They need to build businesses and engage in reciprocal trade, just like we are doing.
If they give him a chance, President Trump would show them the way and in all likelihood join in building common interests. But the globulust leaders don’t want that.
So, like us, the Europeans are going to have to throw off their g!obulust leaders. The same goes for Canada.

We have a lot in common with Russia.But with the EU dominated by globulusts, we have very little in common.
People in the EU are going to have to go through huge changes and based on the cushy lives they’ve led, I don’t think they are going to like it.
