A massive California wildfire is consuming some of the most valuable property around Los Angeles. The Pacific Palisades fire is expanding rapidly due to high winds and dry conditions. Making matters worse, firefighters are having a problem with water shortages to fight the fire due to California environmental standards.
An ariel shot shows the extent of the fire last night, and the situation is rapidly worsening. Firefighters are now focused on rescue efforts.
CALIFORNIA – A state of emergency has been declared in Los Angeles after a huge wildfire swept through hillsides dotted with celebrity homes.
The fire forced the evacuation of 30,000 people, some of whom abandoned their cars and fled on foot to safety.
Nearly 3,000 acres of the Pacific Palisades area between the coastal towns of Santa Monica and Malibu had burned by the Palisades Fire, officials said. Fire officials said that several people were injured, some with burns to faces and hands.
A second blaze dubbed the Eaton Fire broke out some 30 miles inland near Pasadena and doubled in size to 400 acres in a few hours, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.
California Governor Gavin Newsom, who was in Southern California to attend the naming of a national monument by US President Joe Biden, made a detour to the area to see “first hand the impact of these swirling winds and the embers”.
[…] Witnesses reported a number of homes on fire with flames nearly scorching their cars when people fled the hills of Topanga Canyon, as the fire spread from there down to the Pacific Ocean.
Firefighters in aircraft scooped water from the sea to drop it on the nearby flames. Flames engulfed homes and bulldozers cleared abandoned vehicles from roads so emergency vehicles could pass.
The fire burned some trees on the grounds of the Getty Villa, a museum loaded with priceless works of art, but the collection remained safe, the museum said.
Before the fire started, the National Weather Service had issued its highest alert for extreme fire conditions for much of Los Angeles County from Tuesday through Thursday, predicting wind gusts of 50 to 80 mph.
[…] Actor Steve Guttenberg told a local television station that friends of his were impeded from evacuating because others had abandoned their cars in the road.
“It’s really important for everybody to band together and don’t worry about your personal property. Just get out,” Guttenberg said. “Get your loved ones and get out. (read more)

Anyone else noticing how every new year we have a major fire somewhere in the world?
Not really, but to what do you attribute it?
The last bad fire in the U.S. that I remember was in Colorado, another utopian, statist, collectivist haven of late.
Arson.
I live in norther CA and last year the park fire was massive (it went through my daughters property but thanks to my sil and cal fire-minimal damage)-thousands of acres burned-all because some dimwit pushed his burning car into a dry ravine in a park. We have big fires every year because of poorly managed forests on govt. land. Environmentalists brought this about with their stop logging lawsuits.
Yes. Every year now, and more than one.
G. Edward Griffin spoke about the tactics we see playing out here:

Property consolidation through unaffordable or uninurable real estate. Wait until Los Angeles drops a performance bond on the table like so many other city municipalities are doing and the property tax goes through the roof. Pun intended.
Just like a number of other major “weather events”.
No coincidence.
Perhaps another D.E.W. EVENT.
LAND GRAB FOR ? ..
Well we who research and pay attention KNOW !
Someone started this fire and it wasn’t Mother Nature
This I believe!
What natural event sparked this?
Electrical storms are rare in California and there haven’t been any lately either.
Read this morning that fireworks are to blame
Reported on X: a man in P Palisades smelled smoke Tuesday morning. Event up the hill to check the burn scar that was left when some people were shooting off fireworks on Jan 1. It looked fine. Aa short while later the smoke smell worsened and he called fire department. Apparently burn scars can be a store for fire re-ignition, especially if the winds kick up.
Yea, I watched the 2 videos about “unnatural fires” someone posted earlier. When I saw the clip of a tree burning from the inside, I remembered many pics of trees in Hawaii that looked like that, and other fires too. And, reading about DEW’s that can cause that type of damage.
how do we think those DEWs are deployed?
you reckon they have some truck-mounted ones by now?
aircraft?
Everything I read about Lahaina referenced satellite deployment with some earthly sabotage of some early warning systems. There was also some references to HAARP deployment to push a nearby hurricane into an optimal position.
For the LA fires, I saw some video that indicated simultaneous ignition in 3 places in the area. That is likely DEW. Although, the Santa Annas are notorious for making demons of the smallest fumes. This does seem like planned mismanagement with assets sent to Ukraine, FD defunding, personnel reductions, nonrenewal of water stores and all around screw ups at State, County and City levels. Last year, IIRC, there was a big to-do about the Northern fires and the problems CA has with fires exacerbated by poor forest management and not keeping brush away from electrical lines.
Everything I read about Lahaina referenced satellite deployment
So they’re shooting directed energy weapons down from outer space?
My friends are in Nichols canyon and had to evacuate because of this fire. They suspect a terrorist or homeless person started it.
All five fires started by one person, or five different people, or one rogue government burning it all to the ground as they make their exit?
I have seen video saying 3 started simultaneously. That sounds like .gov. There are rumors of arson and mistakes that are also quite likely. How about all of the above for a tragic and YUGE scale of destruction.
Two Nevada fire brush units from northern Nevada are headed to the LA area;
think it is up to the Governor of California to activate that State’s National Guard and then make a formal request for similar units from other States; so far haven’t seen anything in the local news where Nevada’s National Guard units have been requested, much less put on notice in case of activation.
Will keep an eye on the news in case that changes.
latest article I could find – Nevada sending up to 125 firefighters and two trucks to southern California:
https://www.kolotv.com/2025/01/08/reno-fire-department-sends-two-trucks-help-with-la-fires/
I will say this, and it makes logical common sense, a lot of times they wait for the winds to die down before dropping water from the sky.
If you drop it in really high winds it’s more dangerous for the pilots and the wind will disperse the water making it less effective.
they’re commenting on exactly that on Fox News that I’m watching
there are now multiple fires in the Hollywood Hills and they’re doing helicopter drops of water and/or retardant
it’s after dark so no fixed-wing tankers
Yes, darkness brings other problems for pilots.
8 fires total. 0 contained.
The winds have to be 40 mph or less to use the planes. They scoop up water from the ocean.
Its Sad. I’m not gloating but G od works in mysterious ways.
Where were these rich Hollywood people when the hurricanes hit Florida and N Carolina? When the fires hit Maui?
And because of the Delta smelt there’s no water.
Well also are the fire trucks electric?
The fire chief is a lesbian DEI hire. What the hell does she know about fire fighting?
Why not scoop up water from the sea-in Australia we do this.
We have helicopters with huge buckets that scoop up water and then dump it.
Also bear in mind that that fire retardant spray is toxic.
Where is Newscum?
Should the airforce go help put out these fires?
This afternoon it was reported that they are scooping up water from the ocean. Unfortunately, they are fighting a losing battle with 85 mph winds blowing embers down from the hills.
They can only fly in 40 mph winds or below.
They do have these planes and they scoop up water. The complete story is that the winds were 40-60 mph day and up to 100 mph at night. They planes cannot fly unless 40 mph or below.
Would it have been such a chore to gather up thousands of this “endangered” smelt and raise them somewhere safe? They got the money to keep the smelt where they are now at a tremendous cost to humans so I’m guessing they have money to move those smelt.
Couldn’t the Ukrainians help out here?
G-d didn’t do this
Unfortunately it appears numerous government officials are again found to be severely derilect in even accomplish bare bones responsibilities. Cutting the fire fighting budget, no water available in fire hydrants, and having DEI as the prime directive. What could possibly go wrong? Well, check the news for the answer. Will heads roll? Questionable.
In a sane world this should be the end of Gavin Newsom and democrats in California. This disaster when the smoke clears will be unbelievable. We’re only seeing snippets so far. When you see the full scale of devastation form the air, it will be unlike anything we’ve seen before. People better get very, very angry and change their voting habits.
Unfortunately we don’t live in a sane world.
The leftists and the Hollywood crowd will blame the fires on climate change and evil Trump and the Republicans. Then the sheep will continue to vote for the crazy Democrats and the enviro-nuts. Repeat the cycle over and over.
Where there is a plethora of politicians, practical common sense is sorely lacking
So true, unfortunately.
Fired a bunch of competent Firefighters for not getting the vaxx, too.
They are still severely short on numbers of firefighters.
If they came to my house I’d tell them no thanks, I’d rather just let it burn.
Not only is the fire chief a DEI hire but the mayor too
DEI Mayor returns from Africa jaunt. No need to hold a hose as there’s no water for them

Import the 3rd world, become the 3rd world
Wow, not a word to say to a reporter who asks the mayor critical questions.
Not a word to say.
What can she say? “Oops I f@cked up”? Not bloody likely.
So will Blackrock take their properties now?
The rich can rebuild. The middle class families who have lived there for many decades and just had their home insurance cancelled a couple of months ago by insurance companies pulling out of CA will not be able to. This is what Blackrock is probably already salivating over. The middle class peasants will be completely erased from the area and the international bourgeois will be moved in with brand new mega mansions. Who knows, maybe Zelensky will be given a prime location?
FOX news reported tonight that one of the insurance companies who left CA, State Farm pulled out because Newsom blocked their ability to raise their rates.
It’s not like they weren’t already gouging us hard enough
I’m sure they’ll try.
How do 3 fires separated by a wide distance ignite in a short sequence after warnings of a high fire danger are announced? The power had been shut off for some of these but I don’t know the exact situation.
I suspect arson has a major role in this horrific series of wildfires and I hope preserved videos will help find the perps.
The media loves to promote the fact whenever there is extreme fire susceptibility.
It’s like egging on the pyros out there to get to work.
There is a new fire in Hollywood Hills….. this is more than likely Terrorism by fire.
D.E.W. more likely
What does that mean?
Directed Energy Weapon.
Microwave systems like the Active Denial System, and Laser systems like HELIOS are examples of this. They need not be lethal to be a directed energy weapon.
A $5 can of charcoal lighter fluid and some free matches would ignite a torch you could shoot with a bow and arrow.
That’s the “Poor Man’s Directed Energy Weapon”.
I’ve been thinking the same thing since this afternoon.
These fires are +90% human caused, i.e. arson.
80-100 mph winds will carry that fire quickly. Embers can shoot off from tall palm trees.
DEWs; Direct Energy Weapons are the latest toys for mimicking natural disasters. No bullets, no residue, no footprint.
A search of the starting points of the fires will reveal the use of DEWs; the experts are able to spot the differences.
DEWs go to the heart of the flammable mass; a tree will explode in flames, inside out burn.
The term ‘explode’ has been used in connection with the fires on news casts.
But I’m 100% sure that she funded illegals.
Insurance Companies dropped a lot of CA accounts because Newsom made it illegal for them to raise rates?
Heard that earlier on FNC.
Here’s a good read:
https://fee.org/articles/the-real-reason-state-farm-won-t-sell-home-insurance-in-california-anymore/
This is a good quote from the article.
“California is the only state in the country that doesn’t allow insurers’ rates to be based upon actual reinsurance costs,” Frazier said. “California’s regulations employ a legal fiction that each insurer uses its own capital to serve customers. As reinsurance costs go up, insurers cannot have their rates reflect those higher costs.”
And they’ve got the highest home/land prices in the US.
Can’t make this stuff up!
I pity the poor Insurers who haven’t pulled out before this mess, if there are any.
Utopian, statist, collectivism squared or cubed and these insane laws and regulations created by ignoramuses in the government or passed by an utopian, statist, collectivist electorate.
Yes there is election cheating in California, but there is also an unnatural concentration of stupidity like you couldn’t believe, call it mass formation psychosis, or an attraction of ignorance that utopian, statist, collectivists cause with their stupidity, i.e. laws. California is truly effed.
Be very careful Massachusetts, you may be next!
After this CA will have to self-insure, because there won’t be a single insurance company left in the state.
I think that the CA government objective is to create a state insurance mechanism. That is, the state is the insurer. They are driving out private insurance companies. Incidentally, that is why insurance CEO’s are turning to Trump.
You will have poor coverage at astronomical prices. Therefore, more money is coming into the government to be given to cronies, relatives, etc. It is a long term con and it is brilliant.
The suffering of Californians is deliberate. The people will demand something to be done, a change, and – presto! – a state insurance is created to satisfy needs of the people.
My prediction: state insurance will be rolled in response to this disaster.
Gov Meatball of FL damn sure let the insurance companies do what ever they wanted.
For every action there is a reaction.
In this case it’s the actions of the majority of Californians continuously voting for liberals.
They ruin EVERYTHING they touch.
They have a state government that lives for nothing more than to harvest more taxes and push their liberal agendas all while destroying the lives of the people that keep voting them in.
At some point you would think they would open their eyes to the incompetence of their leaders.
I kind of doubt that many of these Fu%$ers are actually being elected.
The ballot rigging is deep in CA.
That said we do have a large share of mentally irredeemable leftist psy-op victims.
Too much MSM for far too long has most of them stuck in the matrix.
They don’t care that the major papers have publicly stated that Objectivity is no longer their concern.
Otherwise intelligent people, but beyond repair.
A couple of years ago, insurance companies put in the necessary requests to the state of California to raise their rates. They were denied. So most of them pulled out of CA. It has been extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get house ins here since then.
Many of these now destroyed houses may be uninsured because CA wouldn’t let the companies raise rates to compensate for past fires, etc.

Gavin Newscum and Karen Bust should resign in complete ignominy. They should take the DEI fire chief with them.

They should, but hypocrisy is their modus operandi.

Yes! I ignore them
using a desktop and each time accessing the site there is one pop-up that I accidentally clicked on (thinking I was deleting it) and all the bells and whistles of Malwarebytes went off – thought my computer was going to blow up!
It’s been doing this for over a week and have not been able to block it.
The story goes that this is caused by the internet service provider we use, but so far have not been able to verify that (using Spectrum).
What browser are you using? Try a different browser, for instance Brave. I don’t see any ads…

Yes, within the last week or so.
For me it’s been with my iPhone, which I should ditch. Safari sucks for pop-up blockers.
It has been a rarity for me to see something like that on my devices for some years.
I have never seen it with the Brave browser on this device, and seldom have had issues like that while running an adware blocker add-on for Firefox on a separate device.
It might be worth checking the browser’s notification settings. A questionable site spamming you with pop-ups might have gotten white-listed there.
Use brave browser
That sounds like the new utopian, statist, collectivist strategy to me. Remember, they NEVER give up!
Just close the browser and reload. Don’t ever click on anything.

The problem is hitting select sites. One biggie that was plaguing people for months on ESPN, now is hitting AT and CTH, and likely others — a phishing virus “XFinity Sweepstakes”. (Comcast crap.) Another is “Firefox out-of-date”. They are apparently specialized to your internet provider and whatever browser so you may get different ones. It’s not your computer; it’s your service provider. They’ve all been hacked or are doing this deliberately. They are denying it of course.
I use a half-dozen different browsers, but I like Firefox’s easy picture-in-picture option to view videos while doing other things. I have had success with it by putting on strictest ad blocker control.
.
99% of my internet browsing is on a hp laptop with Mozilla Firefox as a browser and google as a search engine. I never have any of these problems. T-Mobile is my internet provider via my cell phone as the tethering source. I use AD Block Plus and don’t let it down for anyone.
uBlock Origin
Switch to Brave browser.
I have had this happen as well. I have changed browsers three time, Safari to Foxfire to Brave and internet providers twice. It is still happening to me.
A big problem is that many of our deciduous trees are still dropping a lot of dead leaves.
The wind knocks the leaves off the trees then piles them up against the buildings.
(undermining all the brush clearance we may or may not have done).
There the leaves are ripe for the flying embers to start a new blaze. that goes right up to the eaves.
No fires here, thank God, but have been keeping the falling / blowing leaves away from our home.
We have wild lands abutting us upwind, and the city likes to leave the “habitat”.
Informing the fire chief that the dead brush is a fire hazard gets the clearing crews out pretty quickly.
(perhaps the note that conditions have been documented and liability is clearly theirs doesn’t hurt).
LA’s first female fire chief, Kristin Crowley, told NBC in an interview before the blaze hit the Palisades, that her chief priority was to increase diversity within the fire department, which is code for wanting more women to fight fires.
Chief Crowley said, “People ask me for a number, (0f women firefighters hired), and I say, ‘I’m not looking for a number…it’s never enough!'”
Needless to say, Crowley is also a big believer in DEI and LGBQ+…etc.
So the blaze is now wildly out of control, partly because most women firefighters aren’t strong enough to handle fires of this magnitude, but mainly because many of the LA fire hydrants have no water!
But don’t blame Chief Crowley for that…try blaming Janisse Quinones, the proud DEI first woman Chief of LA’s Department of Water and Power!
As of this writing, Chief Janisse had no explanation as to why the Santa Ynes and Upper Stone Canyon reservoirs didn’t supply enough water for fire hydrants in fire-prone Los Angeles.
But Chief Janisse may not be entirely to blame for that, since LA Mayor, Karen Bass, cut the fire department’s funding by 17.6 million dollars just a few months ago.
So where was Mayor Bass when the fires broke out?
She was in Africa, in part to celebrate the inauguration Ghana’s first female vice president, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang!
Soo much diversity! Is everyone proud?

I’m sure that “diversity” is an asset now!
I’d like to see a steel cage match between Fire Chief Crowley and Fire Marshall Bill.
20 – 25 years ago there was a minor controversy, at the time, where the LA fire chief, or at least someone high up in the department, was showing what was initially described as a “blooper” reel. Female fire fighting candidates were falling all over themselves trying to drag out standard fire hoses and standing up standard ladders.
This fire official had a backbone and he claimed that it was not a blooper reel but evidence that the female candidates could not handle current fire fighting equipment.
I wondered at the time how I would feel if my child was at a second floor window with flames all around her but she burned to death because the Keystone fire department showed up with only women and they couldn’t raise the ladder because they needed the whole team to drag out the hose first?
Maybe the LA Fire Department could have gotten by with $15 million less if they didn’t have to hire 2X as many women to do do the same job as 1X men did before?
Great summary. Don’t forget, the Ghost Ship Fire in Oakland that killed over 30 people happened under their DEI Fire Chief, Oakland Fire Chief Teresa Deloach Reed, the first African American woman to lead an FD in the US. She disappeared from “firefighting” after the incident exposed her incompetence for the job, but still draws six figures. The city was liable for millions of dollars because of her poor duty, just as LA will know be. Let’s get back to merit-based hiring before more people die.
“Teresa Deloach Reed, 59, became the first African American woman to lead the fire department of a major U.S. city when she took the post in 2012 after working as an assistant chief in San Jose….Deloach Reed, who couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday, has gone on and off leave in the last several months, giving most of her responsibilities to Deputy Chief Mark Hoffmann. Mayor Libby Schaaf declined to talk about the chief’s leaves or disclose the reasons for them. Earlier this month, Deloach Reed became eligible to be vested in Oakland’s pension system. She stands to make 15 percent of her $241,000-a-year base pay, or $36,150 annually. She also receives a $127,000 annual pension from her 23 years with the San Jose Fire Department.”
Thanks for the kind words, Elle. For years I taught a college level writing class and in every class the majority of my students were women. I also used to teach an after-school chess class in my daughter’s elementary school and nearly all of my students were boys. The point being, males and females have different interests and abilities, which dovetails exactly with what you said about merit-based hiring!
I see a class action lawsuit here.
Governor, mayor of LA, all environmental groups, and anybody else who had a hand in creating this travesty.
Malfeasance, neglect of official responsibility to protect the public, loss of property and manslaughter just for starters.
“Malfeasance, neglect of official responsibility to protect the public, loss of property and manslaughter just for starters.”
I couldn’t agree more!
These goons who make Public Policy in CA. are the same as the goons who go into Target and wreck the store, tearing down shelves, knocking stuff around.
The only difference is the goons in the Target are causing less damage.
LOL
Yeah and who is going to pay for it? People who voted for Bass and Gabbin’ Nuisance? Environmental groups funded with taxpayer dollars?
It’s a bridge to nowhere, not that a few ambulance chasing lawyers won’t try it.

Truer words were never spoken.
And DEI run amok. The horrific Ghost Ship fire in Oakland also occurred under a DEI fire “chief” who retired after the incident, never facing any real scrutiny for not doing her job. Oakland Fire Chief Teresa Deloach Reed, the first African American woman to lead an FD in the US presided over the “the deadliest structure fire in the U.S. in more than a decade” (AP).
This disaster belongs 100% to Gabbin’ Nuisance.

What many of us have believed for at least a few years now.
I was born in a northern California mountain town and spent my entire childhood and part of my young adulthood there. Fire danger was an issue every year BUT we never had fires like this…I lived in a national forest there was plenty of supply to burn. Years later when I was living in the East Bay we did have a terrible urban forest fire in the Berkeley Hills/Oakland Hills and circa 1990ish and it was a horrible shock, 17 firefighters got trapped on a ridge and all of them were lost. It also involved the Santa Ana winds which we hardly ever encountered. But the fire was contained to a fairly small area and the crews fought like hell for days to do so and finally prevailed. The Oakland Hills (high property value) were pretty wiped out but were rebuilt. We left California a few years later, just in time it seems. Now the fires there are out of control. The Gold Rush era town I was born in burned to the ground in the Dixie fire in 2021. Even though I hadn’t lived there in 50 years plenty of friends and family still did. It’s traumatic to lose your past like that. Just wiped out. Newsome flew in for a 5 minute press conference. I’ve never felt so much hatred in my life for someone (was watching on TV). They were able to evacuate all residents (miracle) but there was no effort to save the town. It will never be proven but it’s widely held that this was on purpose. Not worth it. I suppose to to the powers that be, a small community of 1500 hardworking blue collar common sense, probably majority Trump voting people didn’t matter enough.
What I noticed that disturbed me the most when I visited last summer was the entire county was a burn scar. They stopped allowing logging a long time ago now it’s all burnt up. Why now? This didn’t happen even when we had much less sophisticated tools for fighting fires. Our forests were considered a resource. Even the Natives that were there before took care of the land; they knew what to do and how to do it! Something really evil is going on with all this.
Too bad Gruesome Newsom’s plane didn’t crash. Sorry, the feelings I have for that piece of ****! And bet he’ll still run for president in 28, and if voter fraud isn’t fixed, we could get stuck with him
Will Australian firefighters go to the rescue?
Pretty ridiculous that one of the reasons CA. discontinued Controlled Burns is because people complained about the smoke they caused.

A sane response to this would be that any arsonist who causes one home destruction should get a life prison sentence.
Of course Gabbin’ Nuisance and the super majority of Democrat/socialist/communist (D,s,c), or utopian, statist, collectivists in my parlance, in the California Assembly will completely ignore common sense.
My son is 100% tired of hearing me remind him of how uncommon, common sense is, these days.

lindak: I can see the fire from my balcony. I bike in those hills. Very steep and winding roads. Narrow canyons. Homes go all the way up to Mulholland Drive. Residential neighborhoods sit in the midst of large parcels of dense, hilly scrub. Those canyons are natural chimneys.
Hi billrla.
I hope you are ok! I grew up in LA and know the whole coastline down there. I have friends who grew up in the Palisades and Hollywood Hills. I had an apartment in west Hollywood near Hollywood Blvd, in the early 80’s.
I went to USC. and my roommate was a Pasadena girl. We watched the 70’s Glendale fire from a Denny’s one night as fire made ropes around the hills.I don’t live in LA anymore, not for years, but it is very emotional to see this happen.
I hope everyone is ok.
It’s amazing how incredibly beautiful California is and how fast it is being destroyed by Democrats.
Yes. I grew up in the golden age for California.
This is also emotional for me, and infuriating. I lived in Santa Barbara for over 20 years, moved out of CA in 2009. The 2007 Zaca fire was a big part of my push to leave… it burned over 240,207 acres. I had several chickens, a large vegetable garden & every day big chunks of ash were on the veggie leaves and the chickens were absolutely miserable.

Expert on Fox News Steve Milloy mentioned that “Palisades had three 1-million-gallon tanks”
I expect these would be water-storage tanks a locations up in the hills where they would gravity-feed into the water-distribution piping network supply all the houses and businesses in the heights, down the hills, and into the flats along Pacific Coast Highway
A blurb at the bottom said “Harris says that claims the tanks ran dry (or “empty”, can’t recall) are false”
The so-called expert Milloy jumped right into regional issues (smelts and delay in building reservoirs in recent years) without citing any evidence that hydrants were dry because of those regional causes rather than local distribution-system piping or pumps problems … so, “expert”? not much by my count
storage tanks AT locations up in the hills
Is it possible to read on here without the pop-ups???? I don’t have this on any other website.
Use Duckduckgo. I have no pop ups.
No popups or ads for me, I use Brave.

LA Mayor Bass told to her face by reporter that the fire hydrants have no water and “Elon Musk says that you’re incompetent.”
Mayor Bass is too stunned to reply!

I see some real major league dodgers in that photo.
Let Trump take over the state of California; just put it in receivership. The CA and major county/city governments are clearly incompetent in managing critical infrastructure responsibly and economically. Trump should make an offer to bail it all out on the condition that CA fires its government for four years while Trump rebuilds the state.
The timing of these fires is interesting considering the fact that I believe California is Bankrupt. Every time the State Govt’ needs money a magical Federal Bailout is developed… which is largely gifted by a Democrat President.
And a state of emergency is declared for Fedbucks
Don’t know if it has been mentioned anywhere, but how are the LA Electric Fire Trucks working during these horrible and sad events ?
LAFD Chief Debuts Arrival of First Electric Fire Engine | Los Angeles Fire Department
PG&E cut power to the entire area!
It looks like the bombed out cities in Eastern Ukraine!
Maybe Mr Z can send LA some of our money back?
I am surprised people have money to go to a mall?
I’m having a very hard time wrapping my head around this.
It’s just to horrible for words.
God have mercy.
My contribution is that I lost my home of 39 years. I fought the hillside fire with neighbors with hoses the whole afternoon. Thought we had it licked but evacuation was mandatory. Never saw a drop of water from LAFD. Total losers. To make it worse, the monopoly State Farm cancelled all fire and earthquake insurance for the Pacific Palisades so I lost all insurance just two Iweeks ago. Someone at State Farm is getting a big bonus. I paid dutifully fire insurance for 39 years and now they kicked me and many others off like a used hamburger.. On the other hand, living in paradise has a cost and I have to pay for it on this side of the lawn. It was worth it. Love you CTH.
Does State Farm own any ‘stadiums’…
asking for a friend……..
So sorry, US. I hope help comes and you can somehow rebuild.
Am perusing BB and TGP…the comments are brutal. From woke, DEI, incompetence, to poor land management and poor infrastructure management due a a little fish…. but I sensed overwhelming attitudes of that these fires were started by unnatural means…meant to handicap Mr. Trump…one comment referenced a “Sunset Fire”…hmmm…
5 people dead…
Insurance policies canceled? Am not an insurance person but I would think that the companies also use actuaries in terms of identifying how to make payouts based on risk and whatever standards they use in the industry, for homes and disasters….as well as life insurance?
Wasn’t there a clause in the patriot act about insurance and not having to pay out on terror event damage?
Palisades fire still blazing, sunset fire has lifted most evacuation orders. Winds in my area are down to 8 mph, I’m guessing it’s similar in the palisades/ but I could be wrong because they are close to the water. Pic of fire tonight from my home:

Kinda like Africa; why do they think living in a desert should provide them with lush luxury green living. Golf courses in Las Vegas, really?? Crossing a desert as opposed to living in one are two very different senerios. Santa Ana winds are a desert phenomenon.
If there’s no water why divert water to it. Nevada, California and other states with uninhabitable lands want to bend the land to their needs; it’s not nice to mess with Mother Nature.
Build your house on sand and expect it to shift. Build near fault lines and on cliffs, be prepared to rock and roll.
California is beautiful lands, but sustainability is costly and unattainable a lot of the time. It’s the land of dreams; pipe dreams and fantasy land. IMHO……. AND I loved living and working there, seeing it all as a traveler.
God Help US
.
I’m getting updates from family and friends in the area; adventurers and prepared for the adventure.
I am the wife of a retired CDF captain and the grandmother of a local fire captain. For years we did not have my husband at the Thanksgiving table and sometimes at Christmas time also. Why? Because that is the time that SEASONAL Santa Ana winds occur. In other words this event was predictable. This is a massive political blunder. Further worsened by Eco terrorists who have put restrictions on water, habitat removal and a mayor who removes millions of dollars from her fire budget. My grandson is frequently ‘down south’ at this time of year because local departments are needed to fill the empty fire stations because those firefighters are working the fire. It is tragic that there will be loss human , pet and wildlife because our state is ran by knuckleheads. Sadly a lot of these people probably elected said knuckleheads. California must take back one party rule and kick the ijits out of office.

Can you see what happens when you put these 3 Leftist-Libtards into positions of power??
I seriously wonder if CA can possibly survive the egregious incompetence of these 3 bastards.
Video of arsonist now showing up. California in debt up to their eyeballs. I thought the Biden admin was just asking for 100bn for FEMA, maybe I’m wrong. I’m not trying to shit on the people suffering but the corrupt are always planning in the background.
