I follow with interest Fr. Calvin Robinson who just recently came to a parish in Grand Rapids, MI, from his native UK where he was quite politically active in conservative politics there and indeed, left the UK due to Starmer’s ascent. He is opposed to Farage because it is his belief that Farage is more concerned about Farage than the conservative movement in England and has had a good deal of personal experience with him. I take his opinion under advisement while having approved of Farage thus far. I will continue to keep an eye on the situation while being open to argument. I feel the same way about the tech bros and feel somewhat that Sundance, with respect, underestimates the discernment of many in the MAGA movement to be cautious of all comers. I’m only a relatively intelligent and worldly sort, but have lived long enough to be suspicious of everyone and everything at this point. I don’t think I’m alone in that. The simple truth is this: America does not need more immigration. It certainly does not need “high-skill” migrants. The flood of blue-collar workers from the third world since the 1970s has done enormous damage to America’s culture—cutting wages, driving up housing prices, and bringing crime: without Mexican immigration, there would not be Mexican drug gangs in America.

I don’t trust Nigel Farage. He is controlled opposition and he is a politician. Never ever, ever, trust a politician. I think it was after the 2020 election that Trump lost there was something that Nigel had said that turned me off and made me realize that he was just a Fair-weather supporter of Trump and could not be trusted. Since that time I totally lost respect for Nigel and realized that he was a diehard politician and not to be taken seriously.

However, the combination of President Trump and Elon Musk together is far more powerful than either of them as individuals. I hope this buddy story works, because what it does is more than inspire people worldwide to become populist, it instills respect and even fear amongst adversaries. People do not bet against Elon Musk, when he says he can do something. He compliments President Trump, helping convince doubters that MAGA supporters will see greater things achieved. I love the way he is shaking up Europe, where people now are jailed for mere effrontery.
It’s true I have distrusted Vivek Ramaswamy, mainly because he fits the profile of a “Golden Lad,” and because I checked out his record at Harvard with someone in a position to know, and he was, contrary to his story about being top of his class, in fact not that impressive. I hope Bill Barr is not holed up in a house somewhere down Ocean Blvd feeding instructions to his Airpods. But, apparently President Trump likes him, so I will put my concerns in abeyance and wish him well. But keep an eye on that young man.
