Six months ago, I was asked my opinion of the Silicon Valley alignment with MAGA. I said at the time I thought it would last around 18 months and finally climax with a large fracture in the political movement around 2026. I had no idea at the time, the group of technocrats would begin publicly advocating for replacing American workers before Trump took office.
For the past several days I have watched Vivek Ramaswamy, David Sacks, Elon Musk and his big tech influencers debating with their followers about the importance for them to continue expanding H-1b visas for foreign tech workers. It is stunning to see this crew double, triple and quadruple down on advocacy, while defining American workers as inadequate for their Silicon Valley needs.
Alas, it is what it is. Within the argument Musk, Ramaswamy, Sacks and group have presented multiple justifications for their foreign worker assistance programs, while advocating for expanded immigration support therein.
Within the tone of their argument, they essentially say the American worker is (1) not intellectual enough; (2) doesn’t have the right work ethic; and the latest point of justification is that (3) American culture is to blame for their need to import foreign workers.
As Vivek Ramaswamy recently said, “Our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long (at least since the 90s and likely longer). That doesn’t start in college, it starts YOUNG.” Thus, as the narrative is sold, American workers need to be replaced with more culturally appropriate Indian tech workers.
When the Indian-American starts saying Indian culture is more adequate at creating workers for the American tech industry, he loses me completely.
If the Indian culture is the holy grail breeding ground for software engineers, then why isn’t New Delhi replacing Silicon Valley?
Considering that factually the Indian culture is entirely based on a caste system, the argument is even more absurd.
What we need are training and recruitment centers for American students. However, the larger issue within the billionaire tech team advocacy is an issue of self-interest.
What we see in the justifications and arguments of the Ramaswamy, Musk and Sacks group is a very specific point of immigration policy for their subset within a singular sector of the American economy. Perhaps this would not be such a big issue, if these points of advocacy were coming from outside government interest groups. However, with this tech team going into the administration, the influence becomes something a little bigger.
The part the Tech Group do not understand is the core of the American DNA, “Liberty“…
It is only from the position of liberty, intellectualism actualized in freedom form, that the working culture of America, the ingenuity part, can be understood.
If you attempt to quantify Americanism with math and algorithms, the translated outcome always fails.
Dear Vivek Ramaswamy, my counter take…
Several years ago, Florida Power and Light won the prestigious international Edward Demming Award for excellence in multi-platform engineering, efficiency superiority and total quality in the process of energy management.
However, the scruffy rednecks did not blow every PhD intellectual out of the water with slide rules, CAD programs, articulated and quantified quality improvement processes and engineering acumen. They did it with hard hats and dirty fingernails.
Because they lost the award, the jaw-agape Japanese spent 6 months visiting and reviewing FPL and later published a 1,000-page study essentially saying FPL “wasn’t really good, they were just lucky.”
You see, the reviewers couldn’t actually quantify the reason why the Florida-based energy company was so successful. In response the FPL field leadership laughed, took out magic markers and wrote on the back of their hard hats: “WE’RE NOT GOOD, WE’RE RUCKY.”
A few years later, every single Kuwaiti oil field was blown up by Saddam Hussein. Global analysts and think-tanks proclaimed it would take 5 years to cap them all off and restart the Kuwait oil pumping industry. Well, the Kuwaiti’s and Saudi’s called Texans, who had them all capped and back in working order in 6 months.
We are a nation that knows how to get shit done.
A few more years pass, and the Northern Chile mine workers were trapped two miles underground. The eyes of the world began to tear as the word spread. Most began to whisper no one could save them. Who did they call for help? A bunch of hick miners from USA coal country who went down there, worked on the fly, engineered the rescue equipment on site, and saved every one of them.
Yup, that’s our America. Ingenuity born from freedom.
Across the pond a half-breed Islamic whack job, armed with an AK-47 and a goal to meet his virgins, began opening fire on a train in France. The scruffneck Americans on board didn’t run to the nearest safe room and hide themselves amid baguettes and brie. They said, “let’s go”, and beat the stuffing out of that little nut with a death wish.
Legion d’Honneur or not, that’s us. WE ARE AMERICANS! That’s just how we roll.
In fact, Lady Liberty can stroll along the Champs-Elysées with a swagger befitting Mae West because without her arrival, they’d be speaking German in the Louvre. Yet, for the better part of the past decade, a group of intellectual leftists have been teaching our children that it’s better to be sitting around a campfire eating sustainable algae cakes and picking parasites off each other; because ‘save the planet’, or something similarly minded. It would appear, they hate the outcomes and inequities from freedom.
Warmest regards,
Americans First!
My BEST advice to @elonmusk @VivekGRamaswamy @DavidSacks and the Silicon Valley tech elites, is to keep talking. Just keep telling Americans how terrible they are and how they need to be replaced. Great Job.

Whatever happened to AI?
If it’s so smart, why can’t it do what these (lower paid) foreign tech workers would do?
Touche’
As an engineer, I agree with Sundance. I have a nephew who has an engineering degree and works at Lowes because he couldn’t get an engineering job. Our people should get first dibs on all jobs…
I know the feeling. Got an electrical engineering degree and applied to a bunch of places for jobs even remotely related to it in Maine after graduating. Only one gave me an interview. Bath Iron Works. Granted, I am a veteran and had other skills, and maybe that was the deciding factor.
I just know that Maine’s job markets have sucked for a long time. H1b visas are no small part of it.
I keep hearing these first-person accounts that put the lie to what Vivek and the other “tech” people are claiming.
Aye.
I was working in IT before. Then I had seen the writing on the wall and went back to school and got my B.S. in electrical engineering technology using what was left of my G.I. bill benefits.
I have an uncle who was laid off in the IT field when he was middle aged. He had a hard time finding employment after that, despite having considerable experience in IT.
Well, as the DOGE does its promised magic with statistics, it (or a spinoff) could do an honest analysis of the need for temporary guest workers. I’m not talking about vague, hand-wavy assertions about work ethic. I’m talking about crunching the actual numbers of US -based supply and demand for qualified people. And by supply, I mean supply among US citizens.
While they are at it, they could look at policies to boost the net reproductive rate of the current population. Considering all the money the US pours into health and medicine, they could figure out how make having a baby less expensive for citizens and their children.
Make America great again for American citizens.
.
I too have a nephew, near top of his class with bachelors and masters in computer programming from an Ivy — which he was lucky to get into given the current admissions practices — who is having a miserable time finding a job. Keeps losing out to, e.g. the Vietnamese woman or foreign Chinese or Indican student.
.
Maybe these young men can teach a new generation of Americans before they get vaccinated.
My son has been looking for an IT job for 4 yrs, needs entry level, added a cyber security license thinking it would help. He voted for Trump because he believed the “America first” thing. Now he doesnt believe. Feels they are all the same. It looks like he might be right.
Correct. My youngest son has a chemistry degree and is in the same position.
It’s DEI and the ethnocentrism shown by the technomandarins.
As a retired PE (Mechanical), 35 yrs in practice, all over the world, I can say that Engineering is one of the last bastions of education that hasn’t been totally corrupted by Leftist nonsense. The EIT and PE do not care about your emotions. That said, there is a serious lack of graduates in EE Power, ME thermo, Petroleum, and ChemE. There is also a lack of common sense in too many graduates. Lots of ME’s graduate with zero practical knowledge and little understanding of how the actual world works in terms of people, money/finance, trades people, etc. If the H1B’s are for programmers, then that’s a different area than Public Works or Manufacturing, Mining, etc. I never had a problem finding or keeping a job, because I was willing to go anywhere and do what was legal and ethical to achieve the objective of my employer, as efficiently, timely, and safely, as possible. I worked 12 hour days, 7 days a week if necessary, to get it done. Things have changed, and not beneficially.
There is also a lack of common sense in too many
graduatespeople. For the most part, Sundance is incorrect. Yes we should hire Americans first but the reality is there are not enough of them with many that are unwilling to work because the government has destroyed their ability to make a living. Millions of them are also addicted to painkillers drawing monthly disability payments.
Truth, brother.
The unusual school I went to taught me to weld when I was 14, mark and cut a rafter at 15, and rebuild an engine at 17.
We were highly sought after in the maintenance world.
But if you went back to school to expand on your talent$… $uddenly you were not a$ de$irable .
These guys lose me when they put anyone ahead of a U.S. citizen.
Focus on making better NOT replacing.
To clarify:
White men built this country, and all western nations.
We don’t need any foreigners unless they’re White.
If you’re so great you should stay in your own damn country rather than following whitey around mooching off of him and raping her.
If you’re so great, why not make your own country great instead of having to come here?
The British say that it’s because Americans cannot do arithmetic. Too busy Rainbow-DEIing to learn arithmetic, I guess.
Plenty of Americans can do arithmetic. Many are avoiding career paths that have no longer have a future for them. The support of Gen Z and all for President Trump is proof that they are fed up with the status quo.
Vivek took over Mommy’s Big Pharma company, which was based on a fraudulent product. He then signed a contract with DARPA to build another fraudulent product: the Nano Lipid Clot Shot, which killed and maimed many Americans.
He then sold his shares to State Street and Vanguard at inflated prices, as if the Deep State were funding him. And then he used the money for his campaign, showing up in the primaries as a younger MAGA alternative to PDT.
I’m not interested in a word he says.
Same sentiment for JD and his lovely wife. Stay away.
rama is a snake and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the Trump administration
his pockets were filled handsomely from a failed scam of a pharma company
whomever sponsored his past is where you’ll find his allegiance
his allegiance most certainly isn’t to Trump or American citizens
Look up the videos that show Vivek copying a bunch of expressions that Obama used.
Bot farms he pays for.
I don’t think we need the Indian caste system here.
American education is designed to produce “worker bees.” The fact that anyone exceptional comes out of the system supports Sundance’s theme. How anyone becomes above average in a system aimed at churning out average says Good truly has blessed America.
Jordan Peterson on the subject. 10 minute vidy
We in the know have been fighting this since our 20s and Ross Perot
I have NEVER completely trusted Vivek, and now I know why. Although I believe his talk points/plans/agenda/opinions are largely due to his ignorance of Americanism, with a dash of arrogance thrown in. Hopefully DJT will clip his wings. As to Musk, I reserve my take until I see more. I think Musk, smart as he is, is just peer grouping. His mind works fast and he has to run to keep up. He also may need his wings clipped by DJT, but then I believe there may be several in President Trump’s cabinet who may need their wings clipped, lest they become runaway trains. But I do not think they are traitors. They have good intentions (yes, ‘intentions’ readily go haywire). Vivek’s worldview and mindset feed his intentions. Looks to me like Sundance understands Vivek very well. Let’s hope Vivek grows up before he grows into a problem.
Since Ramaswamy is talking about American culture, perhaps he can opine on American CORPORATE culture. 🤔
We’re 20 years into the Indian invasion, Are there any American techies left ?
UncleGrumpy: Yes, there are. Many.
India was a resource for NASA from the early 1960’s.
Oh yeah but they are unemployed or under employed.
Eventually one’s true position always comes out. Vivek’s is not “America First” or “Make America Great Again.”
As an old school chemical engineer that used slide rules in college, I’ve had a taste around the world with different cultures and folks from different education systems/backgrounds. I hired Indians in several countries for multibillion dollar industrial engineering and construction projects. I hired them for one purpose: IT system management. Their skill set was excellent. They worked hard because they did not want to return to India. Their salaries were low but much higher than India and they usually lived in a camp with all costs paid by us.
I was fortunate to wit on the Trans Alaska Pipeline in the field starting in 1974. It still operates today and truly is an engineering marvel…American ingenuity at its best.
I’m not impressed with some young engineers who think they deserve everything onna silver plate. But that doesn’t means flood the gates with H1B visas. Au contraire!
Get universities teaching the basics and throttle the DEI BS.
“They worked hard because they did not want to return to India.”
That’s what the employees want, for sure.
And what the employers want? Low Salaries.
This is The Way.
“Their salaries were low” is the only takeaway you need from this tone deaf comment.
Read your response on X and reposted. It is despairing that Musk, Vivek, etc. have probably planned this course all along. I had such high hopes for our future.
Of course they did. They just realized it was easier to ride MAGA than the DNC. After all other billionaires own the DNC.
So do we think DJT is just going to blindly do what they want? I think we all know the answer to that unfortunately. Either he doesn’t see it or doesn’t want to see it….so much for America First
Pay a wage that is proper for this level of education/skill and you will find American programmers all over the place…. that is why we have so many lawyers, the job pays. We would all love to see some of those lawyers converted to programmers. Pay properly and it will happen overnight. Going overseas because you do not want to pay proper wages while still keeping the benefits of being in the US is just #!$@%@$!
These companies are circumventing the US labor market while still keeping all of the advantages of being here. If you want cheap labor, then move your company to the labor source rather than bringing it here.
Pull up a chart of inflation adjusted income versus medium housing prices over time and observe how these companies have been screwing us for decades.
“Going overseas because [they] do not want to pay proper wages”!!!!
Yes, every day!
Hello Treepers, I have spent my entire career in Silicon Valley, began with the company that invented 100Base-T Ethernet (Grand Junction Networks), worked for the company the created the first hardware based router (Foundry Networks), worked at Cisco and worked for Ascend Networks that Lucent purchased for $23 billion dollars. The only reason Silicon Valley companies large and small endorse H1B is because it’s cheap labor. Nothing more and nothing less. They’re paid pennies on the dollar compared to their American peers.
So, it appears the solution is to SEVERELY limit, if not TOTALLY eliminate H1b visas!!!
The “educated class” is getting a dose of what the working class has dealt with for 30+ years. Remember what were were told, “learn to code” when they gave away our jobs to foreigners. We were told to sit down and shut up when all the trades went to Mexicans streaming across the border. We were told to share our cookie with the less fortunate border jumper.
I remember it all well. I was an active participant. Now the shoe is on the other foot and the EC is pissing and moaning. Payback is a bitch. Learn to roof because we’re going to need it.
Everything that has been said about the American culture and how our culture of innovation and “get it done” is right. If there are Americans who are qualified to do the work – they should be preferred.
My only question is this: if we achieve the growth possible with DJT’s policies and leadership – do we have enough Americans to fill the jobs that will open up? In all sectors of the economy?
Ramaswamy wants low wage foreign tech workers to replace Americans.
pagliacci the hated
@Slatzism
What Vivek is actually condemning is that the American working class has the fresh memory of their parents achieving a high standard of living through honest work, and that they hold that as an expectation.
Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, etc do not have that memory or expectation.
American workers have become fully disillusioned with runaway capitalism, and do not want to sacrifice their bodies or minds for a standard of living far below what their parents enjoyed with less education and skills than they have.
They do not want to work 50+ hours per week to barely be able to make ends meet for themselves, let alone for the family they hope to have. They have zero incentive.
So what Vivek means when he speaks of “culture” is the culture of insects.
What Vivek is describing when he refers to “hyper-competitiveness” are Americans being unable to compete with insect culture.
It is an American with the blood memory of a happy family being comfortably provided for on a union mechanic’s salary up against a swarm of roaches content to be packed 20 to a pod, eating slop, shitting in a bucket, and doing it all for nothing more than the occasional headpat from their master.
For their refusal to accept such a slave-like existence, American workers are being mocked by the insects, who cannot even begin to fathom that there is meaning and value to life beyond a few extra dollars in their bank account, a bit of extra shareholder value, being #1 in some bullshit industry that shouldn’t even exist, etc…
https://x.com/Slatzism/status/1872360519635497247
I work in IT. Never trust an Indian. They have no where near our values, they have a racist caste system, and worship cows but live like animals themselves, could care less about pollution, and about 100 other things. Most evil US corps have Indian CEO’s. Most public heath agencies in the US have Indians at the top.
There is no reason to import office workers, they can be hired but stay overseas.
“If the Indian culture is the holy grail breeding ground for software engineers, then why isn’t New Delhi replacing Silicon Valley?”
Because as our real President has always said, no one wants to live in a third world shit hole.
They can hire Indian PhD’s for the same cost of a mickey ds burger flipper…always about the $$$
The Times of India reports that approximately 90,000 illegal India origin “immigrants” were arrested in the USA from 1 Oct 2023 to 30 Sept 2024. 96,000 arrested the year prior.
Want a real hoot? They fly then back to India after arrest on our taxpayer dollars.
India has no problem with illegal immigrants wanting to enter India.
There is good reason for the native born citizen of native born parents requirements for the executive office of the Presidency and VP.
Funny how forward thinking our founders were and not funny how un American thinking first generation citizens can be…..
What I hear as the average, ignorant American they so loathe is: We immigrants have nothing but contempt for you natural born American citizens. Give us your country that you and your ancestors built and died for so we can get richer.
Never liked Musk – still don’t. Why didn’t he stay in his country and make it great if America is so lacking?
They also are guaranteeing that after Trump there will never be another Republican president.
Dear President Trump,
Dance with the ones (the American working men and women) that brought you. Be the working men’s and women’s billionaire, not the billionaires’ billionaire.
Is Elon ejecting himself out of MAGA?
The new Rocket Man !!!
Hmmm? Interesting.
The difference between American workers and foreign workers is that Americans attended American schools.
Therein lies the difference.
Now, homeschoolers are a breed apart, but their numbers are not mainstream as of yet. That demographic is making its mark at the margin, though.
If these guys want to bring in foreigners, then Congress needs to pass a new law and Trump sign it, wherein foreigners can be H1B’ed ONLY if they are compensated above the high end of market rates AND if they have liberty to move among employers with no strings attached. So long as they are employed and not eligible for public assistance, they would be a net benefit to productive society.
However, that is not what is being sold; the purveyors of foreign “superstars” are looking at total cost of employee, not quality with no regard to cost. For any trade that displaces an American, the trade would have to be BETTER than, not BEST VALUE.
That said, adequately educated Americans run circles around just about everyone else. The problem is education being adequate to the demands at hand.
Thank your national schooling system for subpar graduates.
Far too many school districts have been infiltrated by DEI activists who despise Western Civ and so an entire generation has been taught to hate America and not taught much else! Add to that the number of low income students from single family homes who just keep getting passed from grade to grade without learning anything, and you have a massive underclass that ends up in low wage jobs, on welfare, in gangs, or some combination of all of the above….restore American schools to actually doing the job they were intended to do and there will be no need to import qualified workers from anywhere!
Compare that with children in 3rd world countries who are drilled in math and science, all day, every day, from the time they are young, so that they can get hired by an American tech company for less than half of what a similarly educated American would command, which is still far more than they could ever make in their own country! And once they are established, under current laws, they bring over their relatives, many of whom are older, and thus “eligible” for SSI and Medicaid, because they have “no income” and suddenly it is ALL very lucrative, because the company pays a lower wage but we, the taxpayers, pick up the bill for the rest of it. This is what enables them to buy high end house and cars, which then further depresses the earning power of those who were born and raised in an area where they can no longer afford to live!
This is the generation of young men who just voted overwhelmingly for DJT and I hope that he recognizes that they supported him so that he would return family wage jobs back to AMERICANS!
I just listened to Sean O’Brien, the President of the Teamsters, who was interviewed by Tucker Carlson, and while I do not agree with him on everything, he was making this same point! Hard working, law abiding citizens are heartily sick and tired of seeing their country overrun with people who do not care one whit for anyone other than themselves and they are furious at the politicians who have stood by for the past 50 years and let it happen!
Subpar is an understatement.
Here’s the thing…. No work ethic is alot of the problem. It will take years to get us back on track.
Not with homeschoolers! They’re more mainstream than people realize.
Every time I turn around, I hear from another hard-working well-trained American who is being passed over in favor of Indians.
In response to your FPL story , and the oil field story, I give you another, more recent one along those lines:

We also have a lot of workers that don’t want to go in to work. They want to stay home and lounge on the couch and “work”.
Maybe they wanted Trump to win due to less ballot harvesting so they can destroy the MAGA movement.
President Trump has to advocate against this and stop it. If he doesn’t it’s on him.
If their DOGE comes to pass, a whole lot of government workers will be laid off.
Where are they suppose to find jobs in the private sector if those jobs are taken by foreigners ???
DOGE
Dumping On Good Engineers
Maybe they ought to rethink their calculus before they make themselves irreversibly tainted.
I worked in IT/IS most of my life.
Always received exceptional performance reviews and many rewards for a job well done. One supervisor said they would put down that I ‘walked on water at work,’ but knew it was not at all funny to me.
I loved my job — even though it was tough, included many, many, many long hours, never ending calls all hours of the day and night, traveling through horrendous weather when roads were closed to swap out routers, etc. — it was a rewarding job I did as if unto the Lord.
Funny thing, one day all the IT/IS people at a huge corporation learn we are going to get laid off, area by area, person by person.
Then we found out that all our jobs were going to India.
It wasn’t that we did not know how to do the work. We absolutely did.
It was that the company did not want to pay American wages for American workers.
Wages should be equal.
Once parity of salaries is achieved, the problem will resolve. Essentially IT is just “off shoring” labor in place.
So maybe companies hiring from places like India pay a high penalty for not hiring Americans first. Works for me.
I don’t know about tech. But in the non tech work world American under 40’s are WORTHLESS. They believe they are entitled, are owed, and basically don’t want to work. It’s an epidemic. I’m 66 and have owned and managed construction related businesses for over 40 years. This is the way it is. In the industry I’m in now, we are using Mexican s. They show up, do outstanding work quality wise, and are humble and thankful to have a job. Americans ARE NOT in their league. I suspect non construction related probably the same. Like Dennis Prager says “liberalism destroys everything it touches”. Including the under 40’s in America. So STOP whining about “don’t diss the American worker”. It’s deserved…
Are you in the pool business in Florida?
Do you pay the Mexicans a wage sufficient to support a family? Do you offer them benefits or are American taxpayers subsidizing your Mexican workers via Medicaid? Are they legal?
It is possible as a business to fund everything that you mentioned only to have your competitors not do so. That is where the problem is. There is no level playing field. In the construction trades no Americans apply for the job ever none zip zero.
IMO post is mostly accurate. However we know our sons age group very well. ( early thirties)
We are here in British Columbia where we have our share of “ sons and daughters) living off the parents.
However we know numerous entrepreneurial individuals and tradesmen that are doing just fine.
They common denominator is that they are usually children of first generation stock, and sons or daughters of immigrants.
This phenomenon is cross cultural.
Our grocery and fast food stores are 90% staffed by immigrants or kids of.
Cheers!
Stop paying peanuts and you’ll attract better American workers.
Thank you for proving to all of us that you have no clue about what you’re talking about. If you post a job list all of the benefits no Americans will show up to work no matter how high the pay rate as your customers who would fund that job will not pay the price when they can go down the street And get the same product installed on their home for 1/3 or less or more by Mexicans.
“do outstanding work quality wise”, debatable. I have hired way too many contractors. The guy doing the bid speaks English and understands the job. Then the crew shows up, no English, and don’t fully understand the agreed upon job with no supervision,
Contractors I knew in CA were bidding jobs at 1960 square foot price in the 90s. Due to illegal aliens taking over the trades, quality declined but prices to home buyers increased exponentially.
I was getting run out of farm labor jobs as a teenager in the 70s due to alien labor, only a few years after farm labor was “organized” only miles away. People will work, but they won’t work for free. Alien labor is subsidized via public assistance that is denied to native labor. The people using alien labor are NOT paying the full cost, taxpayers are.
You are 100% right. Virtually everyone in the mid 40’s and below does NOT have a good work ethic. Every business owner I’ve talked to over the last couple decades has complained about it, including myself.
What is the end result of AI? Will it really benefit all of humanity? Or will it displace most of Humanity? As I read the article AI is going to be weaponized against a great deal of humanity. I see no good coming from any of this.
Look at how many foreign doctors we have now.
I’m 51 years old. When I was a kid and as a young adult there was barely any foreign doctors.
They come here without student loan debt and make a ton of money out of the gate. We have no knowledge of their actual education or skills but must trust that they are competent.
Many muslim doctors run huge Medicare/Medicaid billing scams and often send the money to fund terrorist groups. Yet we keep importing them.
Outstanding post!
Bad poker players.. they could not wait and showed their hand too soon… gonna be interesting to see our President Trump swat this down.
I’ve worked in hi tech. Dr. Norman Matloff from the University of California, Davis, is a well-known expert on the H1B Visa program, hi tech, programming, etc.
His conclusions on the H1B Visa program:
1. It is defacto age discrimination- they can hire younger coders and pay them far less, along w lower health carde costs.
2. They are indentured servants (my term). They are tied to their employer for 4, 5, 6 years, and can’t move jobs or the green card clock starts over. Whereas an American worker can be offered a $50,000 raise, stock options, and bolt.
3. Our developers are just as talented as Indian or Chinese programmers.
4. Sometimes companies will require a new programming language, say Python, that younger folks know. But an experienced developer can pick it up in a week or two, along with their 20 years of experience.
My additions.
H1B Visa holders aren’t as knowledgeable about their legal rights, so make less of a fuss.
Twenty years ago I went into Silicon Valley companies that were 100% Indian (developers). I worked at a company which was 100% Chinese H1B Visas. They know Tow to the boss.
HR Managers purposefully weed out American applicants. The culture of teams often becomes Indian or Chinese. Fremont, San Jose, and Dublin, CA, have new housing developments which are 99% Indian and Chinese, with the cheapest homes being worth $1.5 Million. The schools, restaurants, voluntary Saturday school, and community events often focus on these two cultures.
Nah nah hey hey
If you want to make this H-1B nonsense to stop, you’re going to have to make it hurt to hire foreigners. Tack on something like a “sponsorship tax,” like 100-150% of each H-1B worker’s wages per annum. If the company doesn’t pay or tries to dodge the tax, then you shut them down and sell-off company holdings until the money is paid, plus fees. Seize CEO assets and garnish those, if needed. The money-grubbers won’t acknowledge anything less.
I remember when the Boeing 737 Max’s started falling out of the sky, and guess who was writing the software for the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System? You guessed it, and that info was scrubbed fairly quickly

“Huge political liability here”
Of course they will. If it wasn’t for abortion, I’d probably vote against the GOP if this is what MAGA is now.
Thank you Sundance for that article. I chocked up reading it—but, it’s all accurate and true!!!
Do you all remember when Disney fired all their US workers and made them train their hired visa foreign workers? I do.
The local hospital system here just this past month off-shored its customer service to India. Then the Vivek and Elon have the nerve to run their mouths off saying there aren’t enough skilled Americans for these jobs and our culture is to blame even though Americans were doing those same jobs just two months ago! The gaslighting is off the charts!
That’s exactly the right word! Gaslighting.
“There are scams all over the world… But the tech scam capitol of the world, that’s in India.”
