For very obvious reasons I don’t believe them. However, that said, take an elevated position on the issue for a moment and ask yourself, ‘what are the implications if the United States Pentagon are fabricating claims about North Korean troops on the ground in Kursk, Russia?’
The United States Defense Department asserted today that DPRK troops are on the ground in the Kursk region. Actual North Korean troops on the battlefield fighting against Ukraine. Has anyone seen any single physical attributable example, a picture, a photograph, a video, a satellite image, a drone video, a declassified field report; heck, anything – anything at all – to support such a claim?
.
This claim, and the total lack of evidence for it, is really nuts if you think about it.
Where are the journalists who look at these officials and say, “prove it.” I mean, the path we are traveling ends in a very dark place for the U.S-NATO and Russia. Shouldn’t someone, anyone, ask some very pointed questions? Where the heck is Biden?
New York Times – Early this morning, Ukraine’s military launched a volley of American-made ballistic missiles into Russia for the first time. The attack came on the 1,000th day of the war and less than a week after President Biden gave the Ukrainians permission to do so in a major shift of American policy.
The strike targeted an ammunition depot in the Bryansk region of southwestern Russia, causing explosions, Ukrainian officials said. Russian officials claimed to have shot down five of the six missiles. The use of long-range American weapons was a show of force that demonstrated how continued Western support could help Ukraine more easily degrade Russian forces.
The pre-dawn attack struck an ammunition depot in the Bryansk region of southwestern Russia, Ukrainian officials said. Russia’s Ministry of Defense said that Kyiv used six ballistic missiles known as ATACMS, for Army Tactical Missile System. A senior American official and a senior Ukrainian official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss ongoing operations, confirmed that ATACMS were used.
The strike represented a demonstration of force for Ukraine as it tries to show Western allies that providing more powerful and sophisticated weapons will pay off — by degrading Russia’s combat capabilities and relieving pressure on Kyiv’s overstretched forces.
The attack came on the same day President Vladimir Putin lowered Russia’s threshold for the use of nuclear weapons. He declared that Russia could use nuclear weapons if its sovereignty is threatened, even against a nonnuclear state so long as that state is backed by a nuclear power — similar to the situation in Ukraine. The timing of the long-planned move was clearly meant to send a message to Europe and the U.S.
The White House said it had observed “no changes to Russia’s nuclear posture” and played down Putin’s new doctrine. The reaction was telling, my colleague David Sanger wrote. Over nearly three years, the war in Ukraine has inured Washington and the world to the renewed use of nuclear weapons as the ultimate bargaining chip. (read more)
Comrade Suspicious Cat remains, well, suspicious.

Russia and N. Korea have had good relations for approximately 80 years now.
It is well within Russia’s right to bring in or accept support from N. Korea.
Whether they have or not is irrelevant.
After all, Ukraine has US troops on the ground.
And it could very well be “cross-training exercises.”
I live near a military training range in Britain. ‘Sources’ tell me that Britain has trained over 50,000 Ukrainians over the last 3 years – mainly in Britain.
In addition to American and other NATO ‘advisers’ being in Ukraine, Britain has hundreds in not thousands over there. Who do you think is capable of firing those weapons and using other ‘smart’ equipment – hardly Ukrainian farmers.
You can read this in any Ukrainian newspaper. Ukrainians have never tried to hide this and in fact are loudly and publicly grateful for the training. You are also apparently ignorant of the state of Ukrainian technology and the capabilities of Ukraine’s scientists and IT specialists. Their innovations in drone warfare and resourcefulness in adapting western weapons to old Mig 29s are being studied by other militaries as we speak.
So are you saying that the American war in Ukraine is being conducted without any foreign army presence?
Well good on them for their competence but I am told there are many foreign missile experts in Ukraine.
Just now it is reported that British missiles are being fired into Russia – not in my name. Strange that our Marxist leaders are attacking their fatherland.
Mr. Healy, I’ve been following the situation in Ukraine since 2013, reading American, Ukrainian, Russian and any other source that I can find. While there is certainly bitterness among some Ukrainians who feel used by the West, the vast majority of Ukrainian Telegram posts, tweets, articles and other sources, from all segments of society, refer to this as a Ukrainian war, a war for national survival. This is how Ukrainians see it, and I believe them.
There are some foreign nationals, including some Americans, fighting as individuals in Ukrainian units, yes. The largest contingents of foreigners fighting for Ukraine are in fact Russian, fighting to liberate their country from Putin.
Good relations are one thing; bringing foreign troops into one’s country to help destroy a neighboring country is a massively different thing. As well as a sign of Putin’s desperation, it is, in fact, an escalation.
NK troops have been in Russia on training exercises for decades this is nothing new or desperate … I very much doubt they are engaged with Ukes in comabt …
Russia and N. Korea have a strategic agreement. They are each obligated to assist the other if attacked by another country. Russia does not need that extra support. Putin is showing marvelous restraint.
The escalation is that Ukraine and the NATO clowns are employing S. Korea fighter jets and pilots as well. Since Ukraine doesn’t have trained jet pilots.
This “strategic agreement” was signed only last month. It is obviously a result of Putin’s desperation, brought about by the fact that he can’t dislodge the Ukrainians from the Kursk region and can’t risk a mobilization. Ukraine had many Mig pilots and they have been receiving F-16 training for over a year in several countries. The first 6 fully trained F-16 pilots are operational in Ukraine now, using planes donated by the Dutch, not Korea.
Signed in June.
You are being lied to:
If I’m being “lied to” I’ll take the lies of Ukrainians, both Ukrainian and Russian speaking, who are on the ground, under Russian attack, over the lies of an embittered American who is not even taken seriously by the former spec-ops and intelligence officers at this site (this is one of the kinder discussions of Macgregor): https://turcopolier.com/the-tulsi-gabbard-douglas-macgregor-russian-propaganda-festival/
LOL Macgregor has been predicting Ukraine’s collapse since the beginning of Russia’s invasion. He’s not even taken seriously on this site, consisting of former spec-ops and intelligence people, a site that has been highly critical of American overseas deployments: https://turcopolier.com/the-tulsi-gabbard-douglas-macgregor-russian-propaganda-festival/
Seems like the Turkish brigade that was attached to the 25th Inf Div in the Korean War. Not really a game-changer in any way but probably helped establish Turkey’s bona fides as part of the “west”.
Talk about finding anything. ANYTHING to remain employed and justify those stars. The mass dishonorable discharges could not come soon enough.
Proof? none…….fear porn to push more involvement highly likely. WWIII w nukes on the horizon? Very possible.
Yes, indeed. 100!
With approval for (ATACMS) to strike Russia, the current resident violated the U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 8, which provides that only Congress can declare war, an impeachable offense.
Any member of congress can, ask for immediate consideration of a joint resolution which invokes Article I, Section 8, and then cuts off all funding for personnel, coordination, and deployment of ATACMS missile systems in Ukraine.
Will anyone in congress do it?

“Let us vainly hope that ‘very soon, these things also shall pass.’” Even though our more than four hundred(!) four(!!)-star generals, none of whom have ever commanded real forces in real combat, have no more idea than anyone else involved in this crazy move …
Let us simply assume(!) that the opposing party still does. The present supreme commander still has a “ghost regiment” member to display at the annual “Victory Day” memorial. Surely he understands that he is dealing with many Fools.
“They know not what they do.”
The only good news from this is, whichever generals and staff that created this plan, approved this plan and implemented this plan will be visible. It’ll be easy to be located and fire. This is a big FU to the incoming administration and to make it harder to stop the war—they think. They think this will make 47 appear as a Russian appeaser, when he stops the war. In reality, it just exposed more Americans that need to go. It’s the war hawks last chance to try to increase and continue the war. What it does do is the exact opposite. Russia will stress their doctrine and say they showed restraint in using it—and want to use this as additional leverage in negotiating the end of the war.
Are ‘they’ not sending another 200 odd million Dollars over there, so Big Guy can get his 10% before he goes into the care home.
I am actually quite confident, now, that “the World War will not take place.”
In just a few weeks, those in the USA who are champions of such a reckless move will lose power forever. Meanwhile, every single “European Ally” will finally begin to digest that “they have all been betrayed, indeed for many decades.” The Ukranian people (never mind “Z”), finally realize it too.
“‘IKE’ WAS RIGHT!” Only he would never conceive just how(!) “right” he was …
“May you live in interesting times.” Pray that it is not actually a curse.
Another astute observation.
Baiting President Trump. Trying to get him to do something, say anything that could be used against him. Not surprising they’re using NK and Russia. Always was the go to for our deep state.
What many people seem to miss is that this is a very yuge opportunity for military troops to train in the real world.
There is nothing like a real shooting war to train men in the ways of battle.
It is invaluable. Of course NK would be happy to take advantage of that.
The experience Russia is getting right now is going to serve them well if any near future engagements are fought with NATO or anyone else.
well our equipment has gotten a good testing … turns out tanks are pretty useless when everyone has drones swarming all over the battlefield … and we now know that the Partriot missle isn’t really capable of stopping hypersonic weapons … we don’t need dead Americans to learn from the tactics employed in Ukraine by either side …
I would point out the the Ukranian troops have mostly learned how to die … don’t think American troops need the same lesson …
Be careful when you write about “the” Patriot missile. There are several variants built over the years and the latest is PAC3-MSE. There isn’t much reporting other than generic “Patriot” so we don’t really know.
If they are called to prove it, they’ll just use AI to produce the evidence. We’ve reached the Twilight Zone
The north Korean troops fighting in Kursk is total b.s. It just makes no sense at all . There are North Koreans in Russia doing manual labour but not fighting.
Don’t know your basis for the “b.s.”. They might or might not be on the line. I don’t see that it makes some sort of earth-shaking difference.
It’s b.s because there is zero proof of it. It just fits into the main stream narrative of the Russians taking massive casualties and running out of ammo.
The White House said it had observed “no changes to Russia’s nuclear posture” and played down Putin’s new doctrine.
Be interesting to know who at the White House gave that quote and on whose authority. Certainly wasn’t Biden who observed anything about Russia’s nuclear posture.
