The debate is scheduled to begin at 9:00pm ET and run until 10:30pm ET. The debate will be in Studio 45 at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York. There will be 4 breaks for commercials. TW was given a 3rd/final response on pretty much every question so the last voice/position you heard was TW… and Vance never mentioned it. I think he should have or started a response. Reagan said: “I paid for this mike” and Americans liked Reagan standing up for himself.
I think Vance should have had a better response re: 1/6 and the serious problems with election integrity.
Hopefully, Trump and Vance have a PLAN to deal with a lot of expected election fraud immediately after or during the election.
Vance’s answer made it sound like PDJT lied to the American people when he said he won the 2020 election b/c that’s what TW accused Trump of doing and Vance did not defend PDT.
I agree re: the tariffs too. Increased corporate taxes absolutely get passed onto Americans. Tariffs do not necessarily get passed on… and we need the tariffs to level trade imbalances and to use as “sticks.” We need to keep corp jobs in our country and bring back our manufacturing to the US. We need to be capable of providing for our own needs.

I managed to miss that because not everyone in this house can sit still for as long as this debate was so need to rewatch. Inability to accept a critique is dangerous. Though I think he did overall a terrific job, I’m disappointed that Vance didn’t counter Walz’s accusations about J6 showing President Trump being a threat to Democracy. I wanted to at least hear Vance mention DJT’s offer of 10K National Guardsmen to keep the peace. Stupid naysayers need to hear that.

Debates are about creating compare-and-contrast IMPRESSIONS.
Most of the data people use to form an IMPRESSION; at least 70%, is non verbal.

I thought he should have known more details about the Border Bill that KH uses to explain how she will control the border. TW accused Trump of deliberately stopping the bill to retain the talking point. Vance did not really defend PDT. Why not list what’s wrong with the bill, ie, it would permit 4k-4k/day of foreigners to illegally enter the US. There were other problems w/that bill. Vance didn’t address any of them.
The abortion question wasn’t answered that well either by Vance.

Vance totally blew the most important part of the debate when he let the moderators and Walz expound on how the 2020 election was fair and honest and Trump was a threat to Democracy because of January 6th.
Vance didn’t say anything to point out that the Democrats kept manufacturing ballots and counting mail-in ballot for days and days after the election in order to steal the election from Trump. And that the Democrats plan to steal the 2024 election by registering hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to vote.

No. We care a lot, but ordinary voters don’t care. It’s best to just move on, rather than to fight that battle.
We “Treepers” know the truth on that, but depending on the “polling”data on that topic and how a typical ‘undecided’ voter may react to it, it is possible that Vance was coached / advised to tread gently there.
It’s an unwinnable debate unfortunately. I think Vance did good by pointing out Trump left on January 20 just like every president before him……and that’s why we’re in the mess.
A few minutes isn’t long enough to explain that an emergency was needed to suspend the constitutional duty of the congress to challenge electors or how every case was dismissed before being heard on the merits. People either believe there was fraud in 2020 or they believe there wasn’t. If it’s an issue they’ll vote based on their mind is made up.
Yep. In order to explain all the relevant details, a person would need a LOT of time, including tons of detailed graphs, videos, pictures, etc. Not a chance Vance or anyone else could bring people up to speed in just a few minutes during a debate.

Vance did an excellent job tonight of appearing out of the four people running for president, because, in theory, a VP could become president less than a week after inauguration if the president has a stroke or something, as the most mature, reasonable, and likable person. He can build on this. Then when he speaks about the obvious problems beginning 3am the day after the 2020 election people will be more likely to listen.

My wife is hard core Trump, hardly votes though (we live in an area without a Dem challenger on most positions, even our congressional rep. She put the debate on, I had no intention of watching. She liked Vance’s presentation. She doesn’t get into the nuances of politics and doesn’t have the depth of knowledge most of us who follow Sundance have, she liked what he said.

JD looked and sounded normal and intelligent. Walz could not have come off very believable if he talked and looked like he did in the clip for the whole debate.

Putz Walz and all who he represents are POSERS. Walz is NOT speaking what the dimokrat party stands for. And Vance is being entirely too polite and “nice” in the face of Walz’s “solutions” for the problems that the DIMOKRATS CAUSED in the first place. Not to mention that the “moderators” are once again campaigning for the leftists.
I don’t know how much more I can stand to watch.
Remember: Vance is debating to change the minds of INDEPENDENT, UNDECIDED voters.
His aim is to look and be NORMAL, THOUGHTFUL, CARING about the lives of Americans.
If he had started on angry rants about J6, election theft, abortion particulars, etc. he would have lost the debate in the minds of undecided voters.
Even one or 2 angry or sarcastic sentences would doom him.
So he did well under those objectives.
I just watched the whole VP debate. Vance pitched a no-hitter and Walz was left, like Casey at the bat, swinging for the fences but finding only thin air. Vance’s command of the facts and extemperaneous talents are awesome!
When the New York Times has a headline tonight saying Walz was blowing smoke about being in China during the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989, that has got to be the worst moment in an inauspicious debate performance for Kamala’s running mate.
