165 Democrats voted for a foreign aid package brought to the floor by Republican Speaker Mike Johnson. The measure includes $26 billion more for Israel, $61 billion more for Ukraine and around $10 billion for Taiwan. 151 Republicans voted to support the aid bill.
There is almost $100 billion in total foreign aid and approximately $0 to secure the southern U.S. border. This is a “Republican” bill, that passed with Democrats, not Republicans. The ideological UniParty is very real in Washington DC, and this vote was entirely against the wishes of most Americans.

The House is now slated to vote on the bills early Saturday afternoon, and Johnson will once again need substantial help from Democrats to get them over to the Senate. Majority Leader Steve Scalise said Friday that he plans to support the package, while Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) declined to state his position when asked.
“I’m pleased that we were able to come to a bipartisan agreement,” said House Appropriations Chair Tom Cole (R-Okla.). He added: “It’s working out the way the speaker wanted it to, which is that every member is free to vote their conscience … in a way they usually aren’t.”
The House structured the package so as to ease its consideration in the Senate, requiring less time and procedural votes to pass the upper chamber. While senators are scheduled to be out of Washington next week, there’s ongoing discussion about canceling that recess to take up the House plan if it passes. (read more)
It’s really not just Mike Johnson, the root of the issue is much deeper than just corrupt and detached Republican leadership. The issue extends to every aspect of life and politics in Washington DC. Every member is participating in a process to give money to other countries, regardless of whether the American voter wants that to happen or not.
There is a complete collapse of the governmental structure of the United States as it pertains to representative government. The concept of representative government is completely gone, not even considered any longer amid the professional political class from both wings of the UniParty vulture.

They serve mostly as a release valve so when the Left gets what they want and the policies invariably become unpopular, they tip an election or two towards Republicans lest the natives get restless. That won’t matter very soon when American demographics are completely changed by wave after wave of third-world immigrants with strong socialist tendencies.

But have you noticed how many Americans have spent the last 4 years relearning the basic principles our republic was built on? People are not only awake, people are active, because we feel the pain now.
They already tried a gun grab in CO and NM, and in each state the people faced them down. They are trying more gun control laws in CO (all state branches of government captured not just by Democrats but by leftists.) People are realizing we can’t take seriously “laws” which blatantly violate the Constitution and recent SCOTUS decisions. We can’t hand over our guns while waiting for lawsuits to go through the courts.
It’s not exactly a situation of lawlessness, it’s a situation of people who obey the real law of the land – the Constitution – realizing the “authorities” are lawless and we cannot afford to obey them.
People are coming to the conclusion in the Declaration of Independence: “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
Getting involved with our local politics hasn’t helped at the national level. The collapse is being orchestrated outside of my community and out of reach of our local politics. I don’t want to feel helpless and so DC politics like this I use as motivation to learn new skill sets, to get fit and to ready my home for shortages. There’s really not anything more productive or constructive that I can do.

I appreciate that we wish to hang onto our precious freedoms as we see them slipping away “slowly.. then all at once.” The end times are a test of faith. Either we get with the program or we perish. It is just that simple and just that complex.
We need a convention of the states and we need to update the Constitution to give the power back to the people and states. The Federal government is the biggest threat to the future of our country. Look at the national debt. It’s not even talked about, yet it’s zooming to $50 trillion.
We need a system more like Switzerland, where there are referendum on major issues. With the technology we have today, there’s no reason why the people cannot be allowed to govern without the “representation”
A CoS would be run by these very same people.
A repeal of the 17th Amendment followed by highly focused nullification would have immediate results and begin a return to the intent and letter of the greatest Constitution.
Nothing would change our political landscape more than forcing each state to have an electoral college within their state, where each county has equal power, this would eliminate the blue city’s dominance in our political system.
I’ve noticed that no republican governor or legislature has tried to do this within their state.
This is an outstanding idea, and I’m sure that the Founders would have included it had they predicted the population explosion that would occur in subsequent years. At the time the Constitution was ratified, the entire United States had a population roughly the size of just Oklahoma today. They had the right model, but didn’t anticipate the scale that would be needed. This is a great idea that should be pushed.

My favorite modern philosopher (who, I suspect, would shudder at the term) is legendary science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein, whose career began in 1939 and continued until his passing in 1988. A former Naval officer, he was staunchly patriotic and his love for America was plain to see in his writings. He was also a student of American culture and society, keeping detailed notes throughout his life on trends and events in the 20th century. From these, he made certain generalized assessments on the future of America and her culture. Many turned out to be incorrect, but chillingly some turned out to be accurate. For example, his readers will recognize a common theme he wrote of his future America commonly called “The Crazy Years,” in which I believe he accurately described the general situation in which we now find ourselves. In fact, it can be argued that he did not go far enough in his prediction. In his view, one of the main drivers of this devolution was the degradation of the American education system.
It’s interesting to note that over the course of his career his fictional works reflected the trajectory of this belief. His earlier works depicted an America of vigor and hope, growing ever ascendant as time passed. But most of his later works showed a broken and fractured America, some novels even showing the former nation as an amalgamation of Balkanized principalities, ever at odds with each other.
It saddens me that the Grand Master may have gotten yet another prediction correct.

However, as a fruit inspector, I can say that the fruit he bears is very bitter.
Mike Johnson is just a symptom of the problem. The problem is that the average Republican in Congress has views on a wide range of topics which are dramatically different from those of their constituents. And different from those they say they have when they are on the campaign trail.
Boehner, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Mike Johnson … the House GOP keeps electing these people because these people reflect the views of the majority of the House GOP.
Johnson is a career politician, which means somewhere along the line there was some graft or maybe even worse. The See Aye Anus knew about it and took him into a room, and suddenly his views changed. This is the problem in Washington.

Effectively, they are looters parasitizing the value of the producer’s labor.
