Speaker Johnson is correct in that if the House GOP fractures and gives control of the House of Representatives to the democrats, the primary purpose of the dems will be to eliminate Trump. Keep in mind the Supreme Court reinstated President Trump on the ballots of several states by ruling that only congress could remove a candidate from a federal ballot. If democrats take control of the House, they will create legislation to do exactly that.

I know of about five who are true constitutional conservatives. Andy Biggs, Eli Crane, Matt Rosendale, Clay Higgins and Senator Ron Johnson.

I get that, but… if we also believe that the GOP is in on this, and has been since 2015/2016, what are the chances of two more GOPe representatives suddenly retiring ahead of November? Wouldn’t that scenario lead to a Democrat Speaker of the House?

Most of the government services are paid for during a shutown. Only “non-critical” services are shut down and in most cases, the pay “lost” would be paid retroactively. Nothing under DHS would go unfunded or unpaid under a government shutdown unless they were determined to be non-critical.
As for MTGs statement, it was clear that the basis for the question was “you agreed that NO other legislation would be voted on until the Senate votes on the border bill submitted to the senate. Johnson stated that the senate is sitting on it. THAT is reason not to pass anything from the senate AS AGREED. So his statement about “what she doesn’t see/say” is complete garbage. He acknowledged the agreement and he clearly broke the agreement and even acknowledged the facts which show the agreement was broken.
The pretense on warrants cited by Johnson is BS. We all know how it works including the 3+hop rule. Once that first hop is made to pure citizen/domestic communications is searched without a proper warrant, constitutional rights are violated.
“Federal elections.” Yes. Sure. In any state or local municipality, if the election cycle includes federal elections, do they create a separate ballot for the federal elections and if they did, do they even have the ABILITY to deny or to check if the illegals are voting on them? The answer is NO. Any such bill should include criminal penalties for violating such requirements. What’s more, any such violations should INVALIDATE their regional results.
Of course SCOTUS states that the federal government has to right (no standing) to dictate to the states how to run their elections. HOWEVER, if the LEFT were writing this legislation, they would write it as a CIVIL RIGHTS matter, not as a voting legislation matter. The civil rights of the people to vote in elections and for their votes to count (be weighed) correctly, no non-citizen votes should be allowed.
This is not what toothless Republicans do, however, and so you can guarantee they are setting up a law that would fail in SCOTUS if passed.
