Yes, I agree, I should read more history. The more you read, the less passive you feel. I’ve been reading Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago. These are not new issues.
During the 70 years to which you refer, people were organizing and uprising in opposition to communism if unsuccessfully – from the Hungarian Uprising of 1956 to the Warsaw Uprising in Poland in which Polish freedom fighters in 1944 sought to remove the Soviet Army as well as the Germans, and the during the breakup of Yugoslavia and the other Soviet bloc countries people were organizing and trying.
And that’s what we must do.
I have found that if a viper comes into your home, you only have two options. The first is to kill it outright before it bites you or someone you love. Democrats believe that others don’t have the right to speak because what they say is counter to what the Dems say and want to happen or believe is happening and that they have a right to suppress it. Nay a duty to suppress.
Understand that the left believes this. They are the righteous and anything they say or do is justified while anything anyone else says is evil and should be suppressed. To the point of incarceration of those who wrong speak.
Make not mistake we are in a fight for our lives. Much more of these attitudes and actions and it will become hardened and unlikely to be changed.

These kids write every single day in my class.
Many left the paper blank.
Most said, “I don’t know anything about our government.” A few mentioned who the president is.

Ten years ago, I had students yammering their opinions on all sorts of political topics. I realize that usually they were parroting what they hear from family members.

I ask because each of those answers is caused by different things, yes, with some overlap. But each of those things require different solutions. The latter reason- not giving two f’s…well, that’s the going norm unless it’s a 20 second Tik Tok video where another kid is eating Tide Pods.
They trust me. They know I really care about them. Some of them were actually concerned that I would be disappointed because they didn’t know the answer. Several apologized! I assured them that they were fine. These are great kids, good students. It breaks my heart. I just was curious about what they know. They know nothing (about the country they live in).

Yes, my husband was “released” as a sub in a conservative, supposed classical charter school when he asked the students an”inappropriate” question of AP US gov students who had just finished reading Federalist Papers on the executive branch. This tells me they are not hearing it at home. Their parents are not talking about it. Nor are others around them. Then they spend hours upon hours on their phones on social media.

Sad to confirm Paul but everything you say is true and has swallowed up my 20 yo daughter. The self isolation and 100% reliance on her phone for information is beyond disturbing to me. I pay for her phone because it helps her keep her job. I’m seriously thinking of pulling the plug and forcing her to pay phone expenses. I speak with her regularly regarding current events, Gaza, Biden, etc. but have a hard time staying calm. She doesn’t read anything other than what’s spoon fed her through her iphone. She has zero historical context or background for any of her communist inspired rhetoric. She is completely manipulated. Her two brothers are complete MAGA and know what’s happening. Her older sister is Lib and will not change due to peer pressure among the elite crowd in NYC that she works and socializes with. Obviously, my experience has been much tougher with my two daughters. I used to believe that a liberal is a future conservative once they age, pay taxes and are mugged by reality. My daughter in NYC has been mugged once by herself visiting DC and again in DC with her hyper lib, former college roommate (all within the last 18 months) and they both are still Lib. I will never give up on them. I constantly send them conservative, logical articles (VDH is a favorite) and I always try to lead by example.
I think you just described the majority of our young people.

I feel it, too. Younger (of two) daughters has been this way since she graduated college. Worse after she got her Masters’ to be a teacher. Just turned 40, has three kids, and nothing’s changed.

Although, two of my three sons are pure MAGA: 26 and 20 years old. The youngest still in college, upstate NY school- but more of a conservative school due to whom attends. The oldest is a culinary director who constantly informs us of the ingrates that has to fire or deal with at work. Lots of good help he says but there are more deadbeats who think working in a kitchen means standing around- on your phone.
My 23 year old isn’t liberal but he also isn’t conservative. He is the one who self isolates in his room- we convinced him it was good to live at home after college, get his career started, and pay down his student loans before moving out. Thankfully, after hemming and hawing, and seeing his friends struggle to pay for an apartment with four people….he saw the light. Regardless he isolates and all of his information: streamed right to his phone. Instagram and Tik Tok seem to be his go to propaganda sites.
However….my wife’s side of the family- cousins, nieces, in-laws (MIL, BIL, & SIL)….all suck at the teet of liberalism. Interestingly enough, when they speak policy- it sounds very MAGA but you they still vote Dem.

Generally speaking, males are much more conservative and self-reliant by nature, while females are much more liberal and socialistic. I think what is going on with your daughter is in part due to where they are NYC and DC. I am from NYC and lived in DC for a few years before moving west. Everyone I knew in NYC and DC is 100% Lib and progressive and everyone they know is. I learned there was no talking to them and it has gotten much worse. They live in a bubble and truly believe they are better than people who support Trump.

Can’t go by poll #’s, or registrations, or election results, and observations can be very distorted, because all we see and hear are the “squeeky wheels” we don’t hear the ‘silent majority’ and this applies to the younger generation, as well.
We know there are some like Amjeans grandkids, certainly. The Kyle Rittenhouse types. No way to know how many of US their are, or how many of THEM.

But there’s a difference in the 18-26 crowd. My sons even say so. Again, this is not a broad brush because that’s a fool’s errand. But in my experience and the anecdotes from my son- many in that generation are lazy, entitled, and want everything put on a platter. Again not all….but look around.

Fortunately, my sons are hard workers- my wife and I focused on that moral ground- being the hardest worker. Don’t focus on being the best. We told them if you aim to always be the hardest worker, you may be the best, but most importantly, you will never depend on someone else to take care of you….that’s freedom.
I wouldn’t be surprised at the number of conservative kids- I’m around them a lot when my youngest and oldest are home. My middle son, who lives with us currently- his friends are 75/25 conservative. But they are very hesitant to speak out.
My experience is similar. My kids are great workers. But what they tell me about their peer group is not encouraging. Range of ages from 22 to 36.
It’s what we taught them, and they now are making the decision to be around like-minded people, with similar mores and values. Makes me proud.
My 8 grandchildren are the same way. One came out of college liberal, but working quickly changed him back to conservative. I have two more that I’m not allowed to see because their parents are so freaking liberal so I can only assume those two are like their parents. But eight out of 10 is pretty good.
I notice it all the time. I looked at some photo of a family gathering of my offspring recently and they all had their phones in hand, and most were looking down at them. Including the children. A review of one of my grandson’s social media is mind numbing. Post after post of shared crap.

It is what they worry about. I have spoken to them about it. The two liberals of the group are slowly being swayed- now that they have graduated and are trying to start careers. I find it funny….especially when they complain about inflation. Since my son lives at home and they watch soccer and football on our back porch- enjoying their beer- I hear a lot, especially since they are now adults and I have known all of them for at least ten or more years.
They hear it at home all the time and they despise us for saying it. They want cesnorship – OF US. That’s what they’ve been programmed to think. So it’s not about them not knowing – not at the high school level. They’re all woke but they’re trained to not even engage us. It looks like they’re ignorant but they’re not.
I remember political discussions in homeroom as early as 6th grade. And yes, usually parroting parents’ opinions but there was real passion. This was early 70s. And there was Schoolhouse Rock. And we learned more in 4-H and FFA. Of course, I know now that we were learning ideals that had already been circumvented and I grew up in the rural south but our ideals were real. I tried to pass these along to my children who I homeschooled in the 90’s and 00’s. While they got my passion, I did so well exposing them to differing viewpoints and teaching them to think critically that they actually realized before I did that our country’s government was not as I thought it was. They love and respect me so I didn’t realize this until they were young adults. They helped me through my horribly rude awakening this past decade. And have been patient with my very real grief and incredulation. It is sad for me that as millenials and GenZ, they pragmatically accept that their opportunities are not what mine were at their age. It breaks my heart. With four grown responsible working adult children, I have no grandchildren as they are super cautious and have purposed to wait for partners who are peers.
I guess I went down a rabbit hole. But it is a life frustration that no matter how hard I worked or how much love and teaching and gentle discipline I poured into my children, I was blindsided by the degradation of our culture. And betrayed by leaders – religious and political -who kept pointing to “issues” that were mere symptoms of the real underlying problems. And I did sense that at the time but had no resources like CTH to help figure it out.
You did great! My husband and I regret not homeschooling out child. We could have done it; we just thought we couldn’t because of our jobs and busyness. We even bought a curriculum for 4th grade and 7th grade and took him through it as a supplement but we weren’t self confident enough to make the break from school.
We would have avoided many of the problems he has had. With hindsight we see we could have done it but we didn’t have our priorities straight.

Imo, this is the culmination of a decades long effort in education leaders.
First, they got rid of civics, then American government.
Those subjects were once required in both high school and as required base courses during the first two years of college.
‘They’ don’t want the children to know.
American history was also taught in the grade schools in my neck of the woods in NY. Maybe because we saw a lot of action during the Revolutionary War but I always thought it was required.
American history and Ohio history were taught to be in-depth in the 80’s, early 90’s in Ohio. And yes, not only was U.S. History but Government was a required course (as BK alludes).

I grew up in NY and remember well taking a whole year of New York State History in the 7th grade (late 1950s). There was a lot to learn! Some of the material would qualify as “woke” today: Sojourner Truth and the Underground Railroad; lots of American Indian tribes were studied as they were very much a part of history there; immigration; industrial development; American Revolutionary battles, like Ticonderoga and Saratoga; Benedict Arnold’s treason; War of 1812 and Canadian invasions, Wall Street crash — on and on I could go! We had a tough teacher and there was a lot to cover. Not at all boring, either.
We were taught Pennsylvania history, which was a YUGE piece of our Founding, as well as American history and civics…phonics, too at the slapping end of the nuns’ rulers. Wouldn’t trade it for the world!
I found this all when I discovered that in my kids HS, they taught ‘World History’ before American History (not til Seniors. One sub teacher played Obamas inagural address..) . I read the History textbook.. No lie: ONE paragraph about A. Lincoln. This was a small, rural town foothills of CA. In elementary school, FIFTH GRADE they had them writing the tenents of Islam.. Wen I went ballistic: ” Its the CA curriculum”..Elem school? Chinese NYear.. same.. Its the CA Curriculum”.(a Catholic school!.. I was there to AVOID the CA CURRICULUM. boy was I awakened then – around 2000.. this destruction of America is insidiously well planned for MANY decades. …:( Parents.. get out, or get involved ..read kids’ books, homework.. be the gatekeeper!
My granddaughter graduated high school two years ago. She took Civics and their final exam was the citizenship exam. She learned a lot. Granted we do live in the south in a conservative county. Just don’t lose hope. There are some fine young people out there. They’re just being quiet and keeping their powder dry.

Late to this conversation, but for those teaching youngsters, Prager University has a lot of really great five minute videos, and by a huge variety of personalities, on different aspects of our government, as well as views on how we got here.
Highly recommend. Even those of us who struggle with attention problems can handle five minutes.

Check into the 917 organization which gives out pocket US Constitutions to 8th graders who receive these after a two-week classroom session with an exam on the Constitution. There is no charge for this program, just needs the teachers to ask for the booklets. Each student’s name is entered in their booklet as well as the teacher’s in a kind of graduation ceremony. It’s been found that 8th grade, i.e. right before entrance into high school, makes the deepest impression on the students. BTW 917 stands for September 17th, the day that a draft constitution was signed by Congress in 1787 and sent to the states for ratification.

What Bannon and Tucker don’t get is that the US is not a country. It is a geographic space inhabited by mutually hostile tribes. There is a tendency in conservative circles to blame everything on our useless political class. Useless they are but the big problem is the division in the culture.
That has always been the case. The change is the amplification of division, by the political class, intentionally, thus setting themselves up as the saviors. It’s an emergency so they grab emergency powers. Except, the emergency is a fraud and their actions are a power grab. Bannon and Carlson understand this, you don’t.

The big question is who are all the people behind the why we have these off the wall problems? The time is now to expose and discredit all of these people as we find out who they unmistakable are. Conservative historian and professor Victor Davis Hanson has released a new video and it is basically a warning for America.
The essence of Hanson’s message is a reminder of how far the left went to stop Trump last time and that people should be prepared for them to do anything this time.
It’s an ominous warning but it’s important to think ahead and be mentally prepared for anything, because that’s what is on the table.

Actually, the integrity of elections was not discussed in the interview. Bannon did, however, mention that none of the main political parties in the Western world really oppose open borders.
It is part and parcel of hate speech. If one can squelch speech (which is what the poll watchers did to the other poll watchers in 2020) and nothing is done then you’ve now lost most of your liberties or they can be taken without fear of anyone being counted as responsible and punished.
As long as vote fraud/manipulation goes unacknowledged/unpunished we no longer have a free country. This major loss to our freedom lies with the media and all those who say and do nothing about it.
Every minute, every day that passes that those fake votes go unchallenged puts us further away from regaining our freedom and our country.

Case in point: Back in Oct ’22 SCOTUS overturned a lower court ruling from PA that went against the states election laws by allowing undated/misdated ballots to be counted. SCOTUS reasoning was simple, the state legislature creates the rules and only the state legislature can make changes…if the law states that all ballots must be properly dated, then they must be properly dated. Accepting the ballots was ruled Unconstitutional.
Today in PA the Board of Elections voted to allow undated/misdated ballots to be counted after the Western District of PA court ruled last week that discarding misdated ballots went against the VRA.
The Board of Electors and the Western District Court blatantly ignored the SCOTUS ruling from just last year.
Once the Communists are installed in power you will never get rid of them by voting. They will not allow themselves to be voted out of power. Like Stalin said, “It’s not who votes, it’s who counts the votes that matter”. Mark Zuckerberg understands this. His $400 million bought a lot of people working in the vote tabulation centers in Atlanta, Detroit, and Philadelphia.
When a portion of the people are illiterate, lazy and driven by their passions..When a portion is made up of non citizens receiving entitlements bought and paid for with taxpayer monies…When cheap talk and no action is witnessed by evil men and women with their hands on the levers power continue unabated but with cheap threats, your country is about to fall.
Democrats have STOLEN and DESTROYED the foundation of our Republic by taking away the VOTING RIGHTS of every American citizen.
