The Big Ugly battle over control of the Republican Party in Congress was always going to be big and ugly. We are witnessing the professional Republican apparatus fight hard to retain the UniParty business model that affords them all the affluence and indulgence they are accustomed to.
By now we well understand the nature of the DC political system as a business model. Factually, that’s why congressional candidates spend millions to take a job earning a few hundred thousand. The business of DC political life is filled with background payments to politicians, family and friends. The business of DC politics provides a life of affluence that is disconnected from most understanding.
Jim Jordan lost his third effort to secure the House Speaker role in a floor vote earlier today. Following the floor vote, the Republican Caucus held a closed-door meeting and another secret ballot to determine if Jordan should continue. When they didn’t have to put their names in front of the public for scrutiny, 122 professional members of the Republican Party voted against Jordan, with only 86 votes in support of Jordan continuing. Jim Jordan from Ohio is done.
Within the voting and the turmoil, we see the axiom bell ring true. Democrats want power, Republicans want money. Democrats use money to get power, Republicans use power to get money. Democrat donors support ideology. Republican politicians chase donor money. This is the essential difference in the two wings of the UniParty apparatus.
♦ What becomes visible…. Threaten the power of Democrats, and you receive the weaponization of government. Threaten the money of Republicans, and you get this Big Ugly outcome. That’s what we are witnessing.
On the positive side, with each passing example more American voters are starting to understand the nature of the UniParty apparatus. Within this painful understanding you find the reason why support for Donald J. Trump grows. Trump threatens the Democrat power structure; so, they weaponize the full weight of government against him (Main Justice, FBI, IC, FISA, the works). However, Trump also threatens the Republican structure of affluence; so, we see them step aside and willfully watch the weaponization of government against their common enemy. That’s also what we are witnessing.
WASHINGTON DC – In a shocking turn, Jim Jordan on Friday lost an internal GOP vote that was intended to show confidence in him remaining as his party’s speaker designee.
The Ohio Republican is now no longer his party’s pick to lead the House, a demise sealed by a GOP secret ballot just after his third failed floor vote as a speaker hopeful.
It was an unexpectedly fast end to the Ohio conservative’s candidacy to lead the chaos-ridden Republican conference — and a sign that the flailing party is fed up on its 17th day without a speaker. Lawmakers now plan to leave Washington for the weekend as the next round of ambitious Republicans decide whether to mount their own speaker bids.
But most Republicans acknowledge that even with new faces to consider, they still have no clear path to uniting their splintered conference. They have already rejected two speaker candidates — Jordan and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise — as well as former Speaker Kevin McCarthy during this month alone.
McCarthy gave voice to a sentiment that’s growing within the GOP: The party’s inability to run the half of Congress that it narrowly won doesn’t bode well for its broader future.
“I’m concerned about where we go from here,” said McCarthy, who had been backing Jordan. “It’s astonishing to me, and we are in a very bad position as a party.”
Jordan’s loss of the speaker nod from his party came as something of a surprise, since he had sought the internal vote with allies preparing to cite it as a show of continued support for his candidacy. Instead, the secret ballot revealed that while Jordan’s public opposition never topped 25 votes, scores more House Republicans wanted to see him out of the race.
[…] In all, 122 Republicans voted to boot Jordan as their party’s nominee, while 86 said he should remain their choice, according to two people familiar with the private discussions. Five members voted present. (read more)
Wall Street, the multinational corporations, the billionaire donors, the people who control the ‘illusion of choice’ mechanisms within the Republican Party apparatus, are all smiling. Meanwhile, Main Street USA is once again furious. But remember, the Wall Street group just doesn’t care. As long as they retain full control over the puppets in DC, including at least 122 Republicans in the House, the multinationals are happy.
The Big Ugly battle continues.
It’s a BIG CLUB, and we ain’t in it…. YET!
Damn, is it going to take FRENCH REVOLUTION punishment to resolve this!!! How many damn RINO HEADS GET LOPPED OFF BY THE GUILLOTINE!!! IT SHOULDNT NEVER EVER, EVER COME TO THIS BUT BEING A FORMER INFANTRY MEMBER IT COMES DOWN SOMETIMES TO ELIMINATING AN ENEMY!🤨
As a kid learning world history, I would reflect on the difference between our own revolution and the French revolution.
I couldn’t wrap my head around the brutality or why the Bastille was the origin of the revolt.
It’s making much more sense to me as an adult, living through our brethren being persecuted for their political beliefs and religious beliefs.
Should this kick off, maybe the DC gulag will be the first point of contact.
Madam DeFarge. She was power behind Mr. Guillotine’s blade…or so the story goes in A Tale Of Two Cities
Should this kick off, maybe the DC gulag will be the first point of contact.
I’ve felt the same as well.
Where are those a revolution would first free? In the modern gulags.
Where are those a revolution would put down first? In the organs the system uses to disseminate lies.
Furthermore, I consider that the Derp State must be destroyed.
I daily wonder about what it’s going to take before We the People (civil war I guess), decide that enough is enough.
Cooler heads, perhaps. I hope he stays the course and the coalition holds together. Anything less gives the Uniparty a win; so don’t give them a win.
Let The Uniparty be the one that dies on this hill. Gaetz, Jordan et al will prevail.
I can think of no greater loss or humiliation for The Uniparty racketeers and Syndicate Democrats than to lose this one. They are all in. They cannot stay there forever. Ultimately, they will lose this one unless the Republicans cower and fail to walk their talk. That is only way the opposition prevails.
So, cooler heads. Stay the course. The MAGA weaselectomy of the Congress is a long march.
Trump understands this. The optics clearly show who the weasels are. This may be exactly what the Republican provincials need to get their sh*t together and put the country first. The RINO scum will still need to be purged and they are doing great damage to themselves at home. It’s not a good look. Their state’s party machine might like it but Trump’s popularity shows the preponderance of the American people really do not agree with the party machine insiders or share the vision of the GOPe. Their era is dying before our eyes. For them to die on this hill is profoundly consequential and very much worth the wait.
In this endeavor, patience is a very good thing.
And the MSM — both the organizations and specific individuals — are whistling past the graveyard right about now. Sometimes they’ll hint at the possibility of a civil war / revolution, but they try to convince themselves that they’ll just be COVERING it. When in reality, they will be major participants, EARLY participants… and they won’t like how it turns out for them.
Hey Jello, same goes for those draped in black robes. I truly believe they think they are safe. In their minds, they believe they are “fair and impartial”.
https://fredericksburg.com/news/nation-world/maryland-judge-killed-person-of-interest/article_1df47792-94fe-5982-b339-265edc9baa21.html
These judges may think that they are safe, but it’s a false sense of security with this defund the police mindset. The perpetrator in this crime was probably an illegal or a “dreamer”, but he didn’t want to pay child support.
I too shared that sentiment of not really understanding the wanton cruelty of the French Revolution until I realized that Washington D.C. had become Versailles-on-the-Potomac. The political nobility live high on the hog while consolidating unprecedented power. The only difference is that the denizens pretend to be egalitarian while looting the countryside and crushing opposition under the full weight of the state.
Not just DC, but the universities too; the big uni poobahs are raping the students financial future to pay themselves massive salaries and bonuses. I don’t have the numbers on the current UPenn prez, but the prior one was paid an shamelessly vulgar and mostly unearned salary:
“Penn paid former President Amy Gutmann nearly $23 million in 2021, according to recent University tax filings.”
https://www.thedp.com/article/2023/06/penn-amy-gutmann-university-president-salary#:~:text=The%20University%27s%20most%20recent%20tax,%E2%80%9CDr.
And this looks to be business as usual for the aspiring robber barons controlling the institutions and coffers of the larger university industry engaged in this modern form of human trafficking. These are but undetermined crime syndicates run by slicker-than-Boss-Hawg tyrants that arguably need to be made subject to basic consumer protection and racketeering statutes. This species of officers and fiduciaries deserve nothing less for creating tens of thousands of tuition slaves over the last decade.
A more cretinous and vulgar breed of rent seekers would be hard to find.
Unprecedented power and, with the insane flow of cash through Ukraine’s money laundering operation, unimaginable wealth.
When there’s wrong it can’t be fixed by doing it the same way Gaetz is the best for standing up and listening to the people we need change at the Capitol but the norm. I hope Jordan stands strong. If you’re on truth social I posted the 25 names and their direct DC lines to call and tell them stop their crap and vote Jordan
MQGA
How many of the 122 have the testicular fortitude to identify themselves publicly? I seriously doubt there will be any (those who will identify and those who have TESTICULAR fortitude).
I remember back when the republicans took a secret vote to oust Liz Cheney or kick her off a committee or something. I called my congressman (a VERY conservative district) to see how he voted. The guy who answered the phone said he thought the congressman would be putting out a statement about that soon. I never did see that statement.
It really p*sses me off when our “representatives” hide their votes from us.
They should not be allowed to hide any vote, ever, even their cloistered factional caucuses conducted in secret should be immediately published.
👍
Exactly, this is the 21st century, all votes should be recorded, no voice votes or secret votes.
I am glad she is gone. Hopefully, never to return.
That should be illegal. Let’s make it so when we rein in this mess.
Let’s get the 86 to identify themselves.
Clever idea. I wonder if they’re bound by rules to keep secret ballots secret. I’ll bet we’d get about 196 members claiming they were one of the 86. They know what their base wants. They just don’t care.
My Congress RINO Neocon Vern Buchanan has gratefully accepted President Trumps support at MAGA rallies in Sarasota Florida. He has an F rating as as a conservative. His last primary challenger lost at a 6 ballot to 1 ratio. I hope Donald will introduce us us to a MAGA candidate that will flush Buchanan down the sewer. The only reason I voted for for this sewer rat in the general election was because the democrat was worse. Vern had total support from our local republican establishment. Pitiful situation. I’m sure others are forced to vote the same way’s hoping for a better outcome. I won’t ever vote for Vern again nor his democrat challenger in the general. If he has a primary opponent I will donate the max.
He was having a good ol’ time last night having played his spoiler part.
OMG he is such a slimy POS–I was just reading his WIKI Bio . Many sleazy deals and he owns offshore “re-insurance” companies in Turks and Caicos–those sleazy extended car warranty things. Dick Cheney, W, Jeb and Mitt Romney all campaigned for him. WHAT A CRETIN
I think CTH can play a role here, if they wanted to. You know how Underwriters Laboratories has that “UL” stamp on appliances that they’ve safety tested? What if CTH had kind of a “Certified MAGA” stamp. List out several core MAGA principles and you lose your stamp if you get sideways with us. Not % either. If you vote for Ukraine money, you lose your “Certified MAGA” stamp…and every one of our voters knows they don’t vote for a candidate who doesn’t have one on this website.
Trump can do something similar, but Trump isn’t going to be around forever. This needs to be something lasting and incorruptible.
Trump has made his endorsement of a candidate a ‘certified’ event that candidates without it (but then claim to have it) will be called out and legally…monetarily…’fined’ for misuse of it. Trump has essentially monetized his endorsement—he has legally made it his property that cannot be stolen.
Wonderful idea.
Absolutely. If Sundance doesn’t already have someone on his team working on the graphics seal of Treeper approval, I would be asking why. It could be something of Treeper approval, instead of CTH or Sundance’s personally, ie “Treeper Approved.” As with any of those they’d have to be vetted every week, as you may or may not know how the saying goes: “You’re only as good as your last five minutes.”
Sorry, I saw a squirrel and away I went…
MAGA has to be recruiting and backing candidates for every position from dog-catcher on up.
In large measure this means taking over your state’s Republican leadership, ultimately to own those damned 168 positions that install and sustain parasites like Ronna McDaniels.
Greedy Old Possums gotta go!
A similar situation here in OK. Tom Cole (R-OK) has voted 47% of the time with Republican party concerns and the remaining 53% he’s sided with the Democrats. Why call him Republican?
Tried calling local and DC offices today. Lines were busy.
He has been a worthless representative and I will also vote for his opposition in the primary.
Thank you for this, Jro. Our home is near the district line in Riverview.
This morning around 10:00 AM, I announced to my wife that we will be attending every breakfast, luncheon, dinner, rally , meeting, church service, bike ride, yard sale, and grip/grin fellowship hosted by Vern’s primary opponent. We’re retired, but we will support him/her as much as we can. We see Vern’s name every two years before the elections and that’s it.
Getting brave, aren’t they? Sort of feel like its the ‘shut up and sit down’ slap. When voters are needed and they’re grandeur is secured, why listen to the peasants.
Edit: When voters aren’t needed and they grandeur is secured, why listen to the peasants.
Yep. They defeated Tea Party, they sabotaged Trump, now they put down the latest rebellion. Back in charge, so they expect the serfs to sit back down and shut up. I can’t wait to vote against Jen Kiggins and I won’t care if the Democrat wins.
Sundance … I have a question. I have no idea what the pluses or minuses would be.
What if the REAL conservatives quit the GOP and declared themselves independents? Couldn’t they then caucus with the RINOs, still giving the RINOs the majority? Isn’t that what Bernie does in the Senate?
This is a sincere question.
It’ a good idea. Who wants to be associated with the sleaze that is the Republicon Party.
Let them eat cake! Them being us.
I did not see Elise Stefanik’s name mentioned in the Politico article?? She had said said that she would vote for Jim
Jordan.
The sundance final sentence, ‘It’s a BIG CLUB, and we ain’t in it…. YET! ‘
is looking very interesting to me (or am I a Pollyanna???)
She did.
Leak their names “accidentally”, just like JoeBama “inadvertently” posted that video of the special forces deploying to Gaza. oopsy
I wish all Republican voters would vote for Constitution Party candidates en mass.
who are / is the constitution party?
Ilhan, stop it. He’s married.
Never stopped her before.
you can’t reason with a turban head
it is difficult
Lol.
Can’t help but wonder what was in that envelope that ilham Omar delivered to that congress person?
Reminds me of the time Sheila Jackson ( i don’t have her name quite correct, the democrat black person that wears her hair like a crown)was passing around an “envelope” during the Kavanaugh struggle sessions otherwise known as a hearing. Is this passing of envelopes normal? Seems weird for ilmam to make it so obvious and then to sit there and leer at Matt Gaetz afterwards.
Shelia Jackson Lee the dumbA$$ Houston Rep. Her IQ is probably 37 and yet they can’t seem to get her voted out down there.
SheJack is leaving congress to run for mayor of Houston.
Not kidding.
The same thing Karen Bass did to Los Angeles.
Tony Buzbee is running for Houston city council. If they both get in, city council meetings should get interesting. I hope his wife doesn’t hold back his mouth in any way.
He lives in River Oaks. I understand that he used to have a tank as a lawn ornament. If he and SheJack knock heads, it may be time to get another.
Bravo Mass Psychosis !!!!
One of the best memes I’ve seen posted ! LoL !
CONFIRMED PPL RUNNING FOR SPEAKER:
—Tom Emmer, Majority Whip
—Kevin Hern, RSC chair
—Byron Donalds, Freedom Caucus member
—Mike Johnson, vice conference chair & Judiciary member
—Jack Bergman, a former general
—Austin Scott, challenged Jordan last time
Donalds is the only viable candidate for all the right reasons on both sides of the aisle.
.
When he speaks, people listen.
He has ZERO chance of being selected speaker….ZERO
It’ll be HERN or the 120+ congressman RINO speaker de jour …….Emmer, who is eGOP slimeball from hell………
excuse me while I continue complete my inventory of present guns and ammo on hand
Have a great night…I know I am…. 🙂
Just raising a glass to your candor & clarity. Salud.
Right back at you! Salud!
McCarthy endorsed Emmer. Another corrupt RINO….I am so disgusted.
I’ve already called McCarthy’s Bakersfield office and his DC office. This is the first time I’ve called his DC office that I didn’t get a “This mailbox is full” message.
Don’t get mad , get even. Rule #6 never let the poor performance of your representative make you pay an adverse price, deal it back to them in spades at every opportunity…….I visited one Don Bacon’s chief of staff office here in Omaha and had words with him, he wasn’t comfortable in the least…..really fun too!
Emmer will NOT become the speaker, not happening.
Breitbart agrees with you. Emmer has no chance.
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/10/20/exclusive-at-least-a-dozen-republicans-band-together-in-growing-movement-to-stop-tom-emmer-from-taking-speakership/
Byron Donalds is my choice for Governor of Florida, but I’ll take him as speaker any day.
I’m sure the eGOP will be calling us for our input…..yep I’m holding my breath…. LOL…. :}
He is very impressive in his public commentaries. His conservatism and lack of tenure in the House will be tall hurdles to clear.
I don’t see anyone that’s a MAGA person on this list.
Byron Donalds has a 100% Conservative Review Liberty Score – A rating.
Donalds is MAGA.
Donalds is the only one who is worth more than 2 cents.
Mike Johnson is awesome.
Daniel’s would be better than MCCarthy, and there is the added benefit of Dems voting against a black man.
Donalds?
I’m waiting to see the repugnant vote against a black man.
Makes you wonder if Trump stands a chance
He doesn’t. It’ll be a win for him if he doesn’t go to prison. Forget the White House.
Your crystal ball was made in China. Toss it.
And the downvote Rs will sweep both houses.
A very long shot for him. The Deep State is working overtime to make sure Trump does not win again. And more often than not, the Deep State wins.
From Jordan’s statement today following this “secret ballot” vote, he isn’t/wasn’t the fighter many talked him to being. I would have thought what they put him through in this process would have opened his eyes to just how underhanded his “colleagues” truly are. Fat chance of that. Move Jordan to the Trey Gowdy room where the big talkers, small doers reside.
The Gaetz 7 (I’m not including Buck, who has not been consistent) need to hold the line. Take this to its inevitable conclusion: The RINO GOPe teaming with the Democrats to get their Uni-Party “go along to get along” Speaker in place so they can spend billions more we don’t have. As I have traveled through many “conservative” comment sections today, there are still far too many who can’t see what is going on. It needs to be taken to the place where only the delusional will actually believe any of these 535 (give or take a handful or two) these “representatives” represent anything other than their own enrichment.
Don’t forget about Jordan’s troubles back in Ohio. That seems to have taken some of his original steam. The OH GOP was actually trying to take him out in the primaries or redistrict him out of a job, if I recall correctly. Apparently John Boener didn’t like him and John Boener runs the OH GOP.
I’m not pimping Jordan either. He sounded good 3 years ago, but Paul Ryan was fabulous at one point many years ago too.
They all get quickly corrupted. The wickedness in DC is beyond description.
Thought Ryan was a wimp
The Great Realignment continues. I hope you all like my name for it, been using it for years. This is the inevitable cleaving and defining of new political lines within the country. The post Civil War status quo is in full collapse.
There is now a Government Party and, effectively, a MAGA Party. The Government Party is globalist and militaristic, and its public-private partnerships are a reimagining of 1930’s fascism. It is largely financed through foreign wars, “foreign aid” NGOs, and globalist economic policies. The Government Party’s color is not blue. It is brown. The MAGA Party is nationalist and defense-oriented. Its economic nationalism combines with a pragmatic foreign policy that eschews military adventurism and nation-building in favor of economic soft power and bilateral relationships. The MAGA Party’s color is red because we don’t wanna have to change the hats.
I think the next step here is to take a look at the ballot requirements for 2024. Do they split off from the GOP now, or do they run as a dual-party nominee both Republican and MAGA? I think some states require you to get a certain % of the vote to be able to be considered a “major party” or a “minor party”. For example, based on the source I read, in Colorado, you party needed to get 10% of the vote in the last general election for a given office to qualify as a “major party”. So that means we would want to use 2024 to run dual-party candidates who are MAGA-Republican. At least in Colorado, the petition requirements are small (1000 in a congressional district, for example) which would make a petition to nominate a Republican as also a MAGA Party nominee pretty easy, actually.
My guess is that in order to get the new party going, the 2024 election becomes the baseline year. You wouldn’t want MAGA’s in Congress just dropping out of the GOP. They just operate as their own caucus and block whatever the GOP is trying to do by making the Republicans work with Democrats. That erases the carefully constructed “two party” illusion.
Pres. Trump, for his part, should start thinking about a MAGA Party nominating convention to solidify who our dual party candidates will be.
The problems we see in the GOP exist for the Democrats as well. They are every bit as fractured and angry at their party as we are. But just like black kids looting stores in Philly that get reported as “youth” or “a group”, the crime is a crime of noticing. The reality is in plain view. Democrats also suffer from the uniparty cancer because the status quo means the hard core Leftists (think “the squad”) get beat up by the power centers of the party. In the short run, they might see sticking with the Democrats as beneficial. But more likely they’re looking at what the Republicans are doing and thinking to themselves, “Why aren’t WE doing that?”
The opportunity here is to break the back of the two-party fraud. That actually makes voter fraud harder because instead of one big party and “selecting all Democrats” on the ballot, you have to build coalitions more like a parliamentary system. It is much harder to execute successful fraud because the coalitions can shift.
Anyway, I think we need to start going state by state and figuring out the ballot requirements and whether we can run somebody as the nominee of more than one political party. That would allow MAGA-Republicans in Congress to use 2024 to break the 10% threshold of a major party which puts them up higher on future ballots and opens the doors to other campaign financing advantages.
Between now and 2024 though, I think those 89 simply vote their own way. If Biden wants $60B for Ukraine, make the remaining Repubs pass it with Democrats via a Democrat Speaker of the House. And we pick our spots on that list of 122 for who we’re going to remove next year in the primaries. It’ll take some time, but giving people candidates and a party OTHER THAN (D) or (R) – MAGA – allows lot of what we used to call Reagan Republicans to leave the GOP and vote MAGA like industrial workers in the upper midwest. People for whom voting for a Republican is akin to swallowing somebody else’s vomit. We have to give them another path. A patriot’s path.
The divorce is upon us. Time to deliver the papers.
If the party divides now that’s it! fair elections again will not occur , even if it does not that very well could happen . This looks really really bad . The bad guys would rather nuke the whole earth than pay the piper. And they have the means to do so. I’m a Christian so I’ ll not fear , but I am praying that Jesus Christ receive the rewards of his sufferings If these times were not cut short no flesh would be saved alive , but for the sake of the elect these times will be cut short in righteousness . Keep praying ,standing up for that which is true and brings forth the Kingdom of God in the earth.
It’s already over. I’m thinking about the dissident movement that follows.
Please keep contributing your ideas! Keep on with this kind of thinking. You have thought out many good solutions. Keep refining and explaining your ideas. You’re onto something and we sure do need problem solvers like you! Thank you!
There are currently 8 Socialist Democrats in Congress.
Are you suggesting MAGA Republicans?
An excellent comment, but I don’t agree that the far Left are just as frustrated with the Dems as we are with the Republicans. While it is true that the Democrats, too, are really part of the Government Party–which as you say is globalist, warmongering, corporatist and fascistic–the far Left still gets far more thrown their way than conservatives do. They make real progress in furthering their ideology, whereas Republicans never achieve anything for their right wing. Now this might be because the aims of the Dems and the Government Party coincide on anything related to suppressing all kinds of freedom. But I really think the Government Party allows the GOP to continue to exist solely for window dressing.
Trust me, the white geezers in charge of the party and “the squad” type members hate each other.
Politics are local…only way it changes is we attack the local stuff and make headway into the state houses to further the conservative agenda. That way, eventually there will be numerous conservative state houses standing tall against a corrupt government. Something will have to give at this point….as for me, Ill give them something they won’t like one bit, but they’ll understand they deserve it. I’m aging every day, got nothing to lose at this point.
Byron Donalds put his name in the hat. I say yeah!
I would back that man, though he needs to happily accept a list of provisions and guarantees such as McCarthy was forced to.
I would love Donalds, or even Herd. Just can’t be EMMER, but I am afraid it will be.
Rich men north of Richmond have chosen.
They chose poorly.
How can these so called representatives not think about these terrorist coming here and not act according ….like my family is in jeopardy. Unbelievable.
We are winning with the stalemate in Congress. All this weeping and wailing is not necessary.
We are achieving our goals. Just keep it going on and on. Let them take their little vacations etc.
The important thing is none of our money is being spent. No money for Ukraine. None for Israeli. None for pet projects. Isn’t that what we want? We are getting a de facto government shutdown.
Be at peace and smile like the Mona Lisa. Nothing bad can happen if they can’t do anything.
While Congress is not in session it cannot be a menace to our liberties.
Nor can their ridiculous bills get anywhere with a stalemate in Congress.
More sand in the machine, truckloads more!
I can live with less of their influence in my life. Can all those Congress critters manage to get by without the lavish spending for a time? Greed says no.
But Biden is escaping all the evidence I want shoved in Democrat faces, evidence of his perfidy and his greed.
Agreed, the ‘hateful’ eight need to continue ‘hating’ the STATUS QUO….. lobbyist shuffle dancing ….and support NO ONE unless their guy is in…….
LOVE IT!!
How long before foreign aid becomes an executive order for national security you know?
This was meant to be a response to R F Burns.
Probably already have done it.
They all have made such a mockery of the Constitution, and their oaths to it.
These gutless republicans are disgusting. Secret ballot is for pussy hat republicans. At least we have 25 names to primary. Would love the names of the 122 pussy republicans. Gutless pukes
Problem is we have an immediate shortage of true MAGA candidates. Hope some stand for the next election.
The part about politicians spending millions of dollars to gain a job that pays a couple hundred thousand is a real eye opener. It would take them a decade or better to break even, if they were actually honest people – which they obviously are not.
Term limits might ruin their incentives to live the lives of criminal career politicians. They could stick their finger in the taxpayer funded pie but wouldn’t be there long enough to take a whole piece of it. And to save money, since they wouldn’t be staying there that long, they could all live in dormitories and eat cheap jail food in a cafeteria. Any empty bunks could be filled by illegals they coax across the open borders.
They wouldn’t need any more than, say, $50.ooo per year. And that would better be paid only if they showed up and did actual work for 40 full hours per week, just like the people they swore an oath to serve. Perhaps if they ran out of work they could invite the public they are paid to serve to stop by and have their shoes shined or their vehicles washed and waxed for free. Talk about good PR. …..
I am so angry about this i have screamed all day. I want a list of those 122 who voted against Jordan, or tell me who the 82 are who supported him and i can know the traitors! How do we get this information? Who do these cretins think they are to keep the people who put them there in the dark?
I’m done voting for Congress at this point. Why bother?
In answer to your question – imagine the Senate and House controlled by the Democrats with super majorities…
The answer is never to give up – it’s to fix what is wrong. In this case, it means voting out those who prove they aren’t for the nation and her people – and finding better candidates. They currently do what they want because there are no consequences. You want them to change – ensure there are consequences, such as not being re-elected for anything ever again.
If this nation falls, there is no place to go – no one that will come to its rescue – in fact they will instead stomp on its remains. If you think fighting within the current system to retain freedom is hard, wait until you are in a system where freedom is lost and you realize what it would take to regain it again.
Don Bacon will never get my vote…..period. I’ll vote in Donald Duck, just don’t care at this point…..if it’s a scuffle they want, there are plenty out there ready to deal the Bacon’s of the world their just desserts……sorry, it’s getting to that point…..this cannot continue.
Especially in the House with 2 year terms, I think it’s better to let a Democrat win and get rid of a weaselly RINO. You can then try and expel the Democrat with someone new two years later.
Primary his a$$ out! Find someone who is worthy, who can run against him and get him OUT!
Anyone still believe there is a “Republican Party”??
Kevin Herns from Oklahoma actually doesn’t look like a bad choice. He was just on Eric Bollin Newsmax.and he actually has an honest face and a great business mind.Sounds okay to me.
Business wise, he was very successful, it may take a bit of research but I believe he was a state senator or equivalent at one point or another.
He is heavy invested in military stocks –I saw a graph from Unusual Whales showing him to be the top beneficiary from stocks with Ukraine funding. So maybe he not so good.
Taking your data provided on it’s face, I would agree, he may not be so good. Another ‘whale’ enriching themselves on war…… very very disgusting. Miss Lindsey I am sure will be contacting this guy much sooner than later….. 🙂
At this point, one needs a good reason to vote for a Republican incumbent – they’re all on probation with bad behavior assumed.
The ones who couldn’t bring themselves to put their constitutional masks back on and at least go through the motions, when the spotlight is on them and the uni party glare is still fresh, are lost causes.
Take notes, take names, and remember.
Jim Bennett is running in the GOP primary against Drew Ferguson who voted against Jordan. Ferguson is a RINO with a lousy voting record.
I can find no reason to vote for Don Bacon, he’s made a spectacle of himself, and has dishonored his congressional oath…. very disgusting person. He’s toast!
It was a strategic mistake for Jordan and his allies to allow the secret vote.
Excellent article CT, but only one bone of contention. Since the Clintons, many Democrats motives include not just power, they want it all: power, money, status, sex, etc. while Republicans settle for peanuts.
YET?
MAGA HAS ARRIVED!
Tick tock
The number of consevatives in Congress has been growing since the tea party grass roots movement. More are needed. Maybe Byron Donalds can break through? Donalds would give the identity politics obsessed Democrats fits and further support the shift of conservative values “black” voters to Trump.
Why They Fear Jim Jordan as House Speaker
By Jeffrey A. Tucker

https://www.theepochtimes.com/opinion/why-they-fear-jim-jordan-as-house-speaker-5513984
How in the world would President Trump ever be allowed to be Speaker?
This is confirmation that it was a huge mistake for Trump not to start a MAGA party in January, 2021, to replace a hopelessly corrupt GOP. The argument against it was that, in the meantime, before the MAGA Party is able to field candidates in state and local elections, we’ll lose the house and Senate, and the state legislatures.
Well, where are we now? We did not regain the senate because Mitch McConnell worked hard against the conservative candidates and the corrupt Republican establishments in Arizona and Georgia killed off Republican senate candidates they did not like. Sundance has said many times that McConnell would rather be in the minority than have more conservatives in the senate, and we saw how true that was in 2022.
Where are we in the House? We don’t control it; the Democrats control it, because the Republican leadership in the House will vote with the Dems every time it really matters, like in the debt limit vote and the latest CR vote, where McCarthy rammed through what the GOPe wanted with many more Democratic votes than Republicans. Yes, Republicans have the committees, but those are all performative; they don’t plan on doing the Left or the “Biden Administration” any real harm.
So we don’t have the House or the Senate. What about state legislatures? Did anyone just witness what happened in Texas? The Republican Party in Texas, which are mostly Bushies, despises Trump and just tried to get rid of the most conservative state-wide office holder, Ken Paxton. Paxton is the only really strong supporter of Donald Trump in the state government, and the only real threat to the Left.
The reason why we needed a new party, and still need one, is that the Republican Party is not a conservative party. It is organized around corruption, not ideology. Most of the elected Republicans aren’t very liberal, but I want a party in which everyone is very conservative, which would be the true counterpart of the Democratic Party, in which every member is to the Left of Stalin.
The republican party needs a 100% enema…….nothing more or less…..ALL MUST be show the door or thrown out a window……no other way to correct this adverse condition.
Good rant David, Needs to be sent.
Totally agree. Trump wasted 4 years trying to work with Republicans, when nearly every one of them was actively working against him. One of Trump’s flaws is his loyalty to the wrong people.
Agreed, no reason to work with anyone who attempts to knee-cap you at every turn……best find a good work around and isolate them on an island.
Trump’s purpose, IMO, was to show up the bad apples – of which most of the members of Congress (House AND Senate) are! He accomplished that – now it’s up to us to get better people into those seats. He cannot do it alone – HE NEEDS US! And We the People must step up.
It’s now 5:30 pm Pacific time and it’s making the rounds that the hold out for Jordan were out for PORK/ earmarks for their district.
Spread the word.
They’re for pork, all right – they want their own pockets fully lined. They could care less about their constituents – if they did, they would act according to OUR wishes, not THEIR pockets!
I like the two wings of the UniParty apparatus analogy, but…
I think a much better analogy is the WWE.
Close the House. Zero appropriations. Send them all home.
The good news is there is no more additional spending since there is no Speaker of the House.
The bad news is that it appears to me some members of the House do not want regular order. Debating spending bills and then having to vote on each individual appropriation bill would expose them.
I think a speaker will be finally be installed when the continuing resolution expires.
We ain’t in it because we stand for truth, justice and the American way. They don’t. There’s no way to compromise the truth. We have to break them. God help us!
We are so screwed.
Vote them out
That means finding new and principled replacements! Are you ready to run for Congress?
Yep. The Gutless Old Party or the Grifters Old Party just gave a huge middle finger to the Republican voters.
Love that ‘gutless’ and ‘grifters’ definition of the acronym GOP……it’s like a soap opera , the bold and the beautiful…..instead……the ‘gutless’ and the ‘grifters’ ! Yep, works for me!.

🚨New: President Trump has told his allies he won’t back Tom Emmer’s bid to become Speaker of the House.
Who else remembers the “cornhusker kickback?”
Senator Ben Nelson, who could forget !
Holding back his vote on Obamacare for the right price.
Yep, and he was out after that! I’m thinking Bacon better pay attention, he’ll be standing port and starboard retirement watches with Nelson next November…. 🙂
Rinos are salivating for that 106 billion dollars. Need to primaried all these rinos.
(story below) Yet all eyes are focused on the house.
These RINO’s are helping the democrats in so many ways. How many votes do you think this has cost re-election campaigns and have viable alternatives been offered for MAGA base voters from the RNC. Can’t have TRUMP allied with a friendly Republican house.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/10/biden-tells-whopper-lie-claims-he-once-awarded/
Joe Biden on Friday welcomed President Charles Michel of the European Council and President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission to the White House for the US-EU Summit in the Cabinet Room.
Biden just couldn’t help himself. He just had to tell one of his favorite lies about the time he awarded his uncle Frank a Purple Heart for his actions during the Battle of the Bulge.
This time Biden claimed he was a US Senator when he awarded his uncle with a Purple Heart.
This never happened. There is no record of this ever happening. Biden is a pathological liar.

My thoughts on the Speaker Race. Emmer won’t have the votes needed. I am thrilled
@ByronDonalds
is running. I don’t know if he will have the votes needed. Donalds is better than Jordan. I think Hern would be a solid choice. I don’t think Bergman, Scott, or Sessions have a chance.
You are right, IMO, about Donalds. He’s about the only one on the list I could ever support.
Can someone explain this outburst of support for Byron Donalds that seemingly came out of nowhere? It just does not make sense to me since we have access to many years of Jim Jordan’s voting record in the House yet Byron Donalds’ voting record in the House is a measly 3 years in comparison.
McCarthy gave voice to a sentiment that’s growing within the GOP: The party’s inability to run the half of Congress that it narrowly won doesn’t bode well for its broader future.
FJB, F the RNC, F the UniParty, F Republicons, F Demonrats, F RINOs. The way they’re pissing away our hard earned money and borrowing on top of that, F them all.
I apologize for my indecorous way of voicing my growing frustration. Washington is the circus, where’s our bread?
They are more or less clowns, nearly all of them. I’m guessing they could not balance a checkbook if you held a loaded .45 to their temple, just amazingly adverse characteristics overall. You have to wonder, just how did someone vote for them, even one vote? Incredibly ridiculous. I’m am in awe of the stupidity of the ‘squad’… immensely stupid people.

❗️ There are currently SIX confirmed GOP candidates for speaker:
—Tom Emmer, Majority Whip
—Kevin Hern, RSC chair
—Byron Donalds, Freedom Caucus member
—Mike Johnson, vice conference chair & Judiciary member
—Jack Bergman, a former general
—Austin Scott, challenged Jordan last time
😐

Mike Johnson is also a Freedom Caucus member.
Mike Johnson chose poorly. It’s outrageous that Trump boosted this guy with his endorsement, and then he turned out to be such a disappointment – stabbing his constituents AND TRUMP in the back by not voting for Jordan. Sorry, but these people are sick.
I like them both. FYI….
Conservative Brief Liberty Scorecard:
Mike Johnson C 74%
Byron Donalds A 100%
thank you for that data….we need a monthly report on ALL OF THEM (Republicans that is)……I am going to take a look at that website and ascertain their basis for grades….conservative in california is totally different than conservative in Nebraska.
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable.”
-John F. Kennedy
We’re NOT ‘voting our way’ out of THIS. 😡
St. Chrysostom accurately said, “Hell is paved with priest’s skulls.” I would add politicians to that list, including if not especially the Republicans because they claim to be different from the Dems but in essence still take the country off the cliff, just at a slightly slower rate of speed, whilst they personally profit off of it all the while.
Not gonna fret about this. I don’t trust Jordan any more than the rest of them. They all are compromised and corrupted by the current $ystem in place. They’re all Rino, whether they went into office that way, whether they got their sitdown the 2nd day on the job from the powers that be, or whether they were a DeceptiCon whose cover has blown.
They are not the main problem. They are an inevitable, perpetual bad symptom of all the deeper corrupting systemic problems which creates them like weeds and/or attracts them to political office. This whole “We just need to get rid of the Rinos” strategy is futile, misplaced. The current system itself is the main problem, as Sundance has shown us so thoroughly, e.g., 17th Amendment, and just the fact that politics and policies are all money-driven. The current system needs to be pruned down until the simple Constitutional Republic is all that remains. (Pipedream, I know. But still a good dream.)
I am an #OnlyTrumper but aside from him, I cannot in good conscience vote for any other Republican. Sorry. I’m done. Beyond fed up. I want that Patriot party, provided the addressment of all the corrupting demon$ in the current political system are frontline and center at the top of their published policy agenda initiatives.
““I’m concerned about where we go from here,” said McCarthy, who had been backing Jordan. “It’s astonishing to me, and we are in a very bad position as a party.””
He means it, but not in the way we’d hope. He fears the exposure this exercise is giving to the corrupt system might result in fundamental change (excuse the Obama phrasing).
The secrete ballot results show how effective forcing public votes is. Only 20 congressmen felt secure enough to show their public support for the continuation of the corrupt system, but many more want it protected.
I rejected the calls for Trump as a temporary speaker, but it’s clear he’s the only one capable of striking real fear into the Republican-half of the UniParty. It might be time for Speaker Trump.
Might Be that time….to pull a rabbit out of the collective hat. The ‘Uniparty’ needs to be dealt with, with extreme prejudice, and malice. They are the root cause of our ills at this juncture in time.
Truest words ever written about these mutts.
“Within the voting and the turmoil, we see the axiom bell ring true. Democrats want power, Republicans want money. Democrats use money to get power, Republicans use power to get money. Democrat donors support ideology. Republican politicians chase donor money. This is the essential difference in the two wings of the UniParty apparatus.
The arrogance is so obvious. Eventually the great unwashed will get so disgusted that anyone with a 6 month diagnosis may decide to do something productive but highly undemocratic with their time left.
Interesting. Diaz-Balart was a Jordan holdout who voted for Scalise twice. She is endorsing Byron Donalds now…
*****
Mario Diaz-Balart
@MarioDB
.
@ByronDonalds is an honorable leader and respected by the entire conference. That is why it is a privilege to endorse Byron for speaker.
4:30 PM · Oct 20, 2023
Byron Donalds has only been in Congress for 3 years so why the sudden support for him rather than a veteran member of Congress like Jim Jordan? These Jordan holdouts would not vote for Matt Gaetz partly because he lacks seniority yet will vote for Byron Donalds, who has an even shorter career in Congress than Matt Gaetz?
Stauber had been voting for Westerman. He supports Emmer now.
