Keep this list handy. These are the twenty Republicans who are stealth Democrats and voted against Jim Jordan. Yes, there are some surprises, including John James of Michigan.
The 20 who voted against Jordan are: Tony Gonzales (TX), Kay Granger (TX), Mario Diaz Balart (FL), Mike Kelly (PA), John Rutherford (FL), Mike Simpson (Idaho) Steve Womack (Arkansas), Lori Chavez DeRemer (OR), Don Bacon (NE), Carlos Gimenez (FL), Jennifer Kiggans (VA), Mike Lawler (NY), Doug LaMalfa (CA), Anthony D’Espositio (NY), Andrew Garbarino (NY), Nick LaLota (NY), Jake Ellzey (TX), Ken Buck (CO), John James (MI), Victoria Spartz (IN).
Accept things as they are, not as we would pretend them to be.
(Via Politico) – The Ohio Republican failed to get the 217 votes he needed to clinch the gavel during Tuesday’s first ballot, with 20 GOP votes against him. The House recessed immediately after the vote concluded, and it’s unclear when a second ballot will occur.
Some lawmakers aren’t optimistic it will happen anytime soon, with Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) saying confidently to reporters as he exited the floor: “Have a good evening everyone.”
The pause will allow Jordan to meet with some of the 20 Republican holdouts to try and bring them into his camp before voting again. Recessing before continuing on to a second ballot will allow sorely divided Republicans to regroup in private away from the House floor and potentially consider their strategy.
Many Jordan allies had predicted it could take multiple ballots, but it’s unclear if they’ll be able to flip enough holdouts in subsequent votes. (read more)
It is absolutely critical that we know who will align against President Trump in 2024. This list of 20 House “Republicans” should serve as a generally good outline to remember.
Boy we’re sure convincing those independent voters, who are part of the nearly 80% who believe we’re headed in the wrong direction, very open for change, who WE WILL NEED in 2024, reasons to hand over the reins to the GOP, aren’t we?
Well, yes, they need to BE part of the change – obviously if out of 220 Repubs, it’s 200-20 RINO vs MAGA, then we’re outvoted and outgunned 10:1 in our own conference, and we NEED their help. To get the RINOs out. We can’t lie to them, and just hope some fake optics will convince them. Go out and court them, tell them to join us, help root out the corrupt Repubs. Then someday maybe someone will root out the corrupt Dems too. Which is more than 10:1, probably 100% of them.
If you watched the voting today, you saw Nanccy Pelosi laughing as each of the 20 Republicans snubbed Jordan. These were no heroes. They are Pelosi stooges doing just what she wants.
Her dancing monkeys in the wizard of oz. Fly my pretties.
i would still like to see the visitor logs to Epstein’s Island, as well as transactions to off shore accounts. Did nanzi look sober at that time?

Tell them, the “principled obstructionists” what they fear the most. That you’ll do your best to have him primaried and defend himself to the people. Primaries almost NEVER make the incumbent look good. Particularly in so called “safe’ seats. At best, embarrassing and costly.
Hmmm….
John James (MI)
Is this the John James who was promoted almost daily here by one of our most prolific posters as a “True Maga Patriot” and one of the “many black supporters” of PDJT??
Just askin’
It wasn’t me but I supported both his senate & CONgressional runs.
He talked the talk & there was no way to know that he wouldn’t walk the walk.
I knew.
He talked down Trump on multiple occasions. He wanted his endorsement, but he always kept one foot in McConnell’s camp, as the $$$ flowed from there. I think he’s a weasel, and definitely Uniparty.
James could have contested his 2020 Senate election loss, and exposed the Uniparty corruption in Michigan, but he turtledove, and the Uniparty rewarded him with a 2022 laugher into Congress in an easy district 10. He’d been planning on running in Slotkin’s district 11, but she’s CIA and the Uniparty waved him over to 10.
James is not MAGA. Believe it.
Appreciate the inside baseball. Good to know.
Yes… excellent comment…. Is that the John James that keep asking for donations to his campaign first for Senator and then for Rep???
I supported John James and now have learned my lesson!!
Shame on him! What a bastard.
Anyone know when the next vote is going to be ?
Tomorrow
RSBN ‘s page on Youtube says a vote will be held a 6pm but none has started.
Tomorrow at 11
Gaveled in to adjourn until tomorrow, as mentioned above. Here’s the link for tomorrow’s coverage on C-Span…

I wouldn’t be surprised if the vote is delayed.
Tough to flip votes when representatives are paid to vote a certain way; pray that they would repent and change their ways.
Well apparently, even among those who have a vote directly in the issue, he doesn’t have 93.4%. As I posted before, If and when Jordan gets elected, and if and when that is accomplished, what has been gained.? Will the American First agenda be further accomplished with a demshevik senate and POTUS? A pyrrhic “victory” at best. You can’t take the incremental wins present them to the American people and combined with the total ineptitude of Slojo and company move towards a 2024 sweep. With more AF seats and votes Mc Carthy would have been gone. No with an impossible task, you’re going to implement the America First Agenda with barely control of 1/3 of the government in the process demonstrating to the people, you are going have to convince ,in order to win to do it; they are open and ready to be convinced. And you wonder why even with the better ideas by far, we lose.
If you stop the 💰💵 & you fail to pass the Senate’s garbage you win in the only ways that matter.
You paralyze the leviathan.
They could accomplish a lot, if there weren’t so many UniParty. Starve the beast!
Part of Rep. Rutherford district includes the (consolidated) City of Jacksonville / Duval County FL where he served as Sheriff until 2015. It’s the largest city in FL, geographically. They just, this year, flipped the mayor’s office from Republican to Democrat. Rutherford’s actions are setting the stage to flip a Congressional seat as well.
His district now (it was redrawn within the past few years) represents probably the more conservative parts of Jacksonville; even traditionally liberal St Augustine has flipped more voters to Republican. He is NOT representing HIS Republican constituents.
To my knowledge, he has never voted NO to a budget and never voted NO to fund a war. He seldom stands up for ANYTHING, yet he stands up to fight his FL congressional peer in Florida, Matt Gaetz? (IMO, the root cause of his actions/inactions) Gaetz is the one w/ “the NO Corporate PAC money” pledge? I’m pretty sure Rutherford has made no such commitment
Sounds very much like he is owned by special interests.
Spot on, Robin. I always thought Rutherford was a milktoast from his emails. The photos of himself would be standing next to a fireman or kindergarten teacher. He never addressed the important issues.
What really stood out was when he called Matt Gaetz “rogue”. That did it. Loud and clear and he proved it today.
Rutherford was the Duval County Sheriff at the same time that:
HIS OWN, HIGHLY RANKING OFFICERS, ALONG WITH THE OFFICERS OF THE “POLICE UNION”, WERE RUNNING AN ILLEGAL “COUNTY-WIDE GAMBLING OPERATION.”Did Rutherford STOP THE FRAUD ?
or
ARREST HIS EMPLOYEES ?
NO
If memory serves, according to the media at the time:
Rutherford was ordered to “step back” and the Governor ordered the “independent” – “FDLE Florida Department of Law Enforcement” to handle the case, and ARREST THE POLICE & UNION OFFICERS INVOLVED.
Everyone expected Rutherford to be arrested too, but NO, he wasn’t. WHY ?
He would have had to have been totally stupid, or blind to not know what his employees were doing !
Not arrested, but instead rewarded with a seat in Congress. It’s too typical and is an example of why too many of our ‘elected ones’ are corrupt, controlled and/or compromised.
I vaguely remember this story, and have never heard ‘the rest of it’. Thanks for sharing. The governor at the time would have been Rick Scott, I think.
Add Mike Rogers from my great state of Alabama to the list of traitors. He is not in the 20, it he was and caved knowing his electorate are watching. I’ll add Jerry Carl (AL R- Mobile) to that list. They need to be primaried. Alabama has some uniparty reps
I live in AL 3 and I have voted every time that I can for his primary opponent. Sadly, whatever Democrat comes along, is worse.
I am not surprised that my former congressman Mike Kelly (PA-Decepticon)voted against Jordan. He’s a fake conservative they drag out as window dressing when they need to soothe the conservative base.
I wish President Trump would wise up to this fraud.
I may still have a copy Mike’s WSJ opinion letter supporting the Trans Pacific Partnership and how it would help the American economy. They had him do it because the Uniparty considered his seat safe.
John James….another useless DUD RINO … he ran for senator in ’20 and got taken out by the same Rif-Raf train that took out Pres DJT. He never questioned anything !
It reminds one of those Tea Party frauds.
Thank you 20 for stepping forward. Now let’s remove them this spring and fall, just like those who voted to impeach. Jordan better not give their campaigns a penny
Let the phones ring!
202-225-3121
Everyone can use that number to call the U.S. House of Representatives.
You’ll be asked what state or congressional district you want to contact, and can leave a message once you get through.
Citizen Free Press published each congressman/woman’s tel. I called each one today and let them know that they were expected to come together and vote for Jordan. No questions. We are the ones that VOTE (not the lobbyists), not to mention contributing to campaigns, volunteering in elections etc.
Not that I think they care, but they do (reputedly) fear the phones.
Everyone here reading that is a constituent of one of those 20 House members needs to be calling and emailing daily until they change their tune. Bombard them!!! Do not let them rest! Picket their offices. Picket their homes.
Let me encourage those who are willing to call Scalise’s office. (202) 225-3015 – and tell him we expect him to give a nominating speech for Jordan. We’ve been hearing rumors that he’s not fully supportive, and that’s not acceptable.
Jordan needs to get some up these punk RINO’s on the mat . Hit them with a cross face, make them cry
Kay Granger is another one of those totally engaged in the “fleece the taxpayer for family enrichment” program.. She, like John Cornyn, will get really old and decrepit never doing the right thing for constituents.. We will never be able to remove them they will die in office.. Both are so deep in the UniParty even the the party of the ass fields no challenger to their seats
Too bad. Fort Worth should be able to do better.
So now we are seeing with clear vision. The clouds of deception are lifting and the enemy has been defined.
Even when he is not in office, President Trump is still draining the swamp.
There are no moderate Democrats. They all moved into the Establishment Republican camp years ago. Let them have their tantrum as there is no alternative at this point. Even in a worst case scenario and we end up with no speaker no business will get done and that is win so to speak….lol….
My representative from Idaho has been there one day too long. But for some reason we cannot get rid of him. Mormons in Idaho keep Simpson and crap-o in office.
This is good. Like I always say, there is a % of Republicans in the party whose primary purpose is to block us on behalf of Democrats. This is the controlled opposition. It’s by no means all of them. Like the Senate, they pick and choose so as not to divulge their true numbers.
But make no mistake, the GOP is allowed to exist as a means to protect the Government Party from voters.
Paraphrasing Cankles Clinton, Democrats need to do a better job selecting their opposition leaders to ensure those leaders can be controlled.
If I was Trump, I’d pick a person off that list and make a campaign stop in their district. Invite everyone except the House member, give them 70 seconds to speak, and tell the locals to call their rep. The ones in FL and ID would make good targets.
Surprise? Total shock! John James you fooled most of us. TO THE REST-the gravy train will be over very soon. Choose the USA over your checking accounts! Primaries are a fairy unsettling thing for the receiver. Right FL delegation?
Of course Texas has the most loser Republicans
Pay attention Texas! Kay Granger and Jake Ellzey are RINOS! Primary them. Granger has been around too long anyway. I am sure she is voting Bush directions!
My Rep Ken Buck is a flat NO. Im so embarrassed and ashamed. I should know but i dont think hes running again so he doesnt lose anything. They should have to resign. Its one thing to disagree on a couple issues but how can they truly be Conservative all these yrs and want to give Speakership back to the Dems? I cannot believe what we are watching at this time in our lives on many issues
Thank you Sundance
Once the Uniparty is finished with thire magic show and chose some dink as Speaker they then will turn thire attention to the traitorous task of finishing off the American people. $100 billion for Ukraine and Isreal and open immigration for Palestinians. Oh no? Just watch.
It’s very easy to say “Let’s primary them” without defining who ‘us’ is.
FL Rep John Rutherford had two Republican/primary opponents in 2022. Both were newcomers to the dance .. which, these days, I consider a positive. Both were knowledgeable and articulate, but new to the arena and with little funding. It is difficult to compete with all of the PAC and collected campaign funds when you are running as a relative unknown. ADD to this… less than 30% of registered voters showed up to vote in the primary. Let this sink in.. **70%+** did not care enough to even vote in the primary. Too often, most of those who do, vote for the ‘most signs’ or the ‘most ads’ or the name recognition.
My point is, we ALL need to get involved at local levels and identify, support and put in the sweat equity to make the change happen. Most everybody can do something. How many of us do NOTHING?
Whose decision was it to recess, Jordan or the pro tempore? I thought the point of the floor vote was to publicly apply pressure on the hold-outs, so why recess? Shows you how strong they think those 20 really are.
My friend in DC is equally frustrated and confounded by the cabal that succeeded in derailing Jordan’s victory. While multiple of the rebels voted in “protest” for one reason or another and will support Jordan in round 2, more than enough needed to scuttle future votes appear sufficiently hard core in their opposition to Jordan’s conservative ideology to continue indefinitely the House’s hiatus.
Worse, they (I have no specific names, only the number range of 6-8), have no viable alternative to offer as a compromise candidate. It’s like they are on a mission both to damage the House Republican caucus and to stall indefinitely the business of the House and the entire government.
The faction that is firmly committed to defeating a conservative agenda at any cost has, indeed, outed themselves, and I anticipate that the next vote will shine the spotlight of truth upon the core group responsible. It is openly rumored, without legitimate substantiation, that the rogues’ strategy is to defeat Jordan a second time and then claim he cannot win, forcing a renewed selection battle.
IMO, something heinous is going on here, and my strong suspicion is that the GOPe is the root cause of the problem. I could be completely wrong. However, good faith and honorable intentions appear to be stowed in the trunk of this clown car, and the image of SD’s “suspicious cat” vividly comes to my mind.
Perhaps if everyone voted harder something might change in Washington?? Naw… I don’t thing so. As for me I’m finished with the whole mess. Ain’t voting anymore (’til the election process is fixed) and ain’t paying attention to those liars and thieves in Washington, DC. We no longer live in a Constitutional Republic and if anyone wants to believe otherwise….good luck to you!!!
Now that you’ve rolled over on your back will the Democrats rub your belly?

🌙 IT’S NOT LOOKING GOOD FOR JORDAN.
NEWS: Most of the 20 who voted against JORDAN met after the vote. And most of them are sticking with their opposition to the Ohio Republican.
ALSO: Jordan has made little headway. Vote tomorrow 11a

Bring in Trump for Speaker, then show me who votes against him

Why would Republicans let democrats pick their speaker? Party of stupid. They are truly angering their base….

Reject Liz Cheney-Adam Kinzinger-style governing with Democrats. It’s a bright red line and akin to a party switch. All can expect successful primary challenges. Don’t touch the stove. As long as it takes.

As Jordan warns against “coalition government” with Ds, Jeffries says informal bipartisan talks have “accelerated” and suggests openness to empowering Rep. McHenry.

If Hakeem has no respect for Jim Jordon then that confirms Jim Jordon is the best choice for speaker.
Are they anxious to vote against Jirdan…or anxious to change their vote to Jordan because of grassroots pressure?…

Go join John McCain in Hades! You have all sold your souls to the devil, already.
Someone should nominate Zelenskyy with a straight face.
Jen Kiggans (R-VA-2) is in a 50-50 District. Local political conditions, rather than ideology or MAGA support dictate local candidates’ votes.
There has been a lot of redistricting going on in Virginia over the past 3 years, partly as a result of the 2020 Census, and partly Court-supervised, as a result of the two Parties’ inability to work things out politically between them. The overall result has been to make most Federal and State Districts more competitive.
Republicans are usually outspent here. The Dems have been pouring money into elections in the State over recent election cycles: ZuckBucks, BloombergBucks, and the usual array of LeftLiberal Dem money machines. Additionally, in the 2020 elections, the Dems (mostly) racked up an astounding 60% of the total vote in Virginia as write-ins. Given the nature of this District — heavily military, with high turnover of the electorate — both Parties tend to run Navy Veterans, so neither gets a particular electoral advantage. Finally, having worked as an election official in Virginia Beach, I can say from personal experience that 50-50 is the name of the game here, no matter how much we might wish it otherwise. Is the election of Jim Jordan as Speaker a life or death issue for Kiggans’ Constituents? I doubt it, no matter how much I might wish it otherwise.
Nevertheless, I plan on calling Kiggans office tomorrow to ask for an explanation of her vote.

Does anyone know why Newt Gingrich was ousted as Speaker after the Republican Revolution?
It’s was b/c he failed to deliver on his Commitment to America.
McCarthy paid Newt $30-40K to develop a stale “Contract with America” and then, like Newt, delivered on nothing.

Costa and Boehner, and sadly, Gingrich, are RINOs of the first order.
Ignore them.
Well, at least now we know with 100% certainty that’s not the right course of action.
Hakeem agrees with you. He likes McHenry also. Wow these people are really outing themselves.
Rep. Clay Higgins

I’m fighting for the man who fights for America. As long as he’s willing to endure the attacks against us, Jim Jordan has my vote for Speaker. No matter how long it takes.
Start voting them OUT!
The Calvin Coolidge Project
@TheCalvinCooli1
Riddle me this back in January it was ok for McCarthy and his allies (K Street) to put pressure on those that were opposed to him but when Jordan and his allies (grassroots) put pressure on that are opposed to him that somehow crosses the line. Give me a break.
8:23 PM · Oct 17, 2023
So many RINOs, so little time.
Ken Buck has always been a RINO…the bassturd will get a piece of my mind (in no uncertain terms) shortly.
John James outed himself as Nancy Pelosi’s butt boy as soon as he rolled over after his Senate election was stolen.
These are some of those Republicans that had conniptions over the Conservative coalition standing firm on McCarthy.
“There are 5 GOP reps who have endorsed Trump for President but didn’t vote for Jordan who was endorsed by President Trump”….
Has Jorden made promises to return to regular order, the Hastert rule and the release of the j6 tapes? That’s what it takes for me to support him.
Republicans need to put their personal feelings aside and bring the party in the country together.
Their personal feelings are to remain true RINOS.
Yep…it’s easier that way.
Republicans need to realize that the Republican party is Trump’s party and everyone should shut up and get into line.
The Whigs refuse to yield.
No, President Trumps party is MAGA, and the Republican Rinos are afraid of his return. have you seen any of them showing up at his trials and standing up for him? MTG maybe but she leaves as fast as the cameras do.
They “need to” yes, but don’t put any money on them doing it. The Republican contingent in D.C. is truly and totally dysfunctional.
The captured elite UniParty want the status quo and no part of ‘“bringing the party together” How many were bought off at the Capital Grill last night by the K Street Lobbyusts?…
