Keep this list handy. These are the twenty Republicans who are stealth Democrats and voted against Jim Jordan. Yes, there are some surprises, including John James of Michigan.
The 20 who voted against Jordan are: Tony Gonzales (TX), Kay Granger (TX), Mario Diaz Balart (FL), Mike Kelly (PA), John Rutherford (FL), Mike Simpson (Idaho) Steve Womack (Arkansas), Lori Chavez DeRemer (OR), Don Bacon (NE), Carlos Gimenez (FL), Jennifer Kiggans (VA), Mike Lawler (NY), Doug LaMalfa (CA), Anthony D’Espositio (NY), Andrew Garbarino (NY), Nick LaLota (NY), Jake Ellzey (TX), Ken Buck (CO), John James (MI), Victoria Spartz (IN).
Accept things as they are, not as we would pretend them to be.
(Via Politico) – The Ohio Republican failed to get the 217 votes he needed to clinch the gavel during Tuesday’s first ballot, with 20 GOP votes against him. The House recessed immediately after the vote concluded, and it’s unclear when a second ballot will occur.
Some lawmakers aren’t optimistic it will happen anytime soon, with Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) saying confidently to reporters as he exited the floor: “Have a good evening everyone.”
The pause will allow Jordan to meet with some of the 20 Republican holdouts to try and bring them into his camp before voting again. Recessing before continuing on to a second ballot will allow sorely divided Republicans to regroup in private away from the House floor and potentially consider their strategy.
Many Jordan allies had predicted it could take multiple ballots, but it’s unclear if they’ll be able to flip enough holdouts in subsequent votes. (read more)
It is absolutely critical that we know who will align against President Trump in 2024. This list of 20 House “Republicans” should serve as a generally good outline to remember.

Thank you for exposing the list of the “America Last” Traitors within the GOP. These are people who would rather destroy America rather than give up an inch of their grift or opportunity to empower the Democrat Marxist/Jihadist Party.
These players are no longer clandestine. They are now fully exposed for all to see. I hope everyone in those states will soon send these back stabbers packing.
UPDATE! Greg missed one. Laurie Chavez DeRemer, freshman from the very blue populace of Portland, Oregon, who is MOST DEFINITELY a RINO, and who consistently votes against any & all conservative or right leaning bills. She surely doesn’t need a second term. Although I don’t live in her district I’ll be giving her office – again – a call to let her know she’s a fake and a fraud and if it weren’t for Oregon’s mail-in ballots bs she would never be there.

The other argument is that at least some of these 20 feel McCarthy has been back-dealing with Jordan. Jordan, endorsed by Trump, is the best offering put forth to date. Maybe that is enough. But I strongly suspect we get McCarthy-lite with Jordan, and while we need to move our team down field pronto, I hope everyone is going into this with eyes-wide-open: Jordan is NOT the Jordan when he founded the conservative caucus. I still support Spartz for now, and I’m hoping she can win some assurances that we aren’t looking at just another version of Washington-as-usual. She doesn’t oppose Jordan outright, but rather the McCarthy influence on Jordan. Jordan may have made some deals with McCarthy on spending bills, Ukraine support, etc. that some of these 20 reps know about and are simply unwilling to go along with. I also suspect many of the 20 simply don’t want Jordan under any circumstances. I’m hopeful that sunlight will prevail on Jordan, and we have a speaker soon. WTF is Matt Gaetz on all this? He got quiet all of a sudden.

OMG. These 20 Repubs are only the start. The rest are hiding among the “yea, Jorden”. This is the game that they’ve played for years. Just enough to help the Dems, just enough to scuttle the Repub “agenda”, the rest hiding safely behind their inconsequential vote.
Called Deremer’s office with a vote Jordan or get primaried message. 5th district will bounce her right out if she doesn’t shape up.

90% of our country’s problems can be blamed on our inept Congress for the past 30 years of their unwillingness to assume the conditions of their over-sight oaths. This has led us to where we are. now and what allowed people as rotten as Obama and Biden to become our leaders. Now that we have squandered our votes on cowards we are reaping our rewards.
