“Thank you for coming to stand up with us in our generation’s defining moment. And we know the president will do right by the working class,” Fain said. “And when we do right by the working class, you can leave the rest to us because we’re going to take care of this business.”
Reporters later asked the president if he supported a 40 percent wage increase for the auto workers. The union members surrounding him shouted “yes,” and after waiting a moment, Biden, too, said yes. (read more)

A 40% raise will be the end of the auto industry in the US. Cars and Trucks will continue to be made in Japan, Korea, and China. Some non-union plants will also continue to run in places like Mexico. Even in those place robotics will replace workers. The industry executives are NOT giving up their money, so the prices will become to high for the average car buyer. The Union workers will put themselves right out of a job.
They are facing the loss of 24% of their wages due to inflation. When Trump explains that 1/2 the cost of everything is energy, and batteries are an insane way to replace liquid fuel, they will come over to him in droves.

Hmmm, 40% wage increase and the auto makers will eat this cost increase by not increasing the cost of new automobiles. There will not be a car manufacturer left in America if this occurs. The UAW should tell their rank and file the ripple effect of such demands.

They will choose the Communist with a better chance to win, and it will be someone from California, since the VP candidate cannot be from the same State as the Presidential candidate.
