Former Fox News pundit and current podcaster Dan Bongino has a suggestion for the team around Donald Trump that is rather remarkable.
According to media reports and seemingly affirmed the Truth Social account of President Trump, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis is demanding a $200,000 bond for President Trump due to his being a flight risk. Bongino is suggesting President Trump call their bluff tomorrow and not post the bond. Here’s his reasoning. WATCH:

His Secret Service detail does have the authority under Title 18 of the U.S. Code to arrest anyone who attempts to lay hands on their protectee. The sheriff, his deputies, even Fani Willis herself.

That wouldn’t happen. Basically, the Secret Service’s charter is to protect the President from all threats, so if Trump were to be imprisoned, they’d need to post at least a couple of agents inside the cell with him.
Everyone here is saying that Bongino’s idea is dumb. I actually don’t think it’s that dumb. Call their bluff. There’s no way they would allow Secret Service members, who have committed no crime, to be imprisoned alongside Trump, and allowing the Secret Service to perform their duties in protecting the President while he’s incarcerated would be a complete and utter logistical nightmare. Bongino used to be SS, I think, so he knows this very well
Bottom line, they can’t do jack to him if he flat out refuses to pay his bond
Bongino spent 12 years in the Secret Service which includes 5 years on the Presidential Protection detail.
Most troublesome to me is Bongino stating that there were some good candidates before mentioning that he personally liked meatball- right after suggesting that our President Trump refuse to post bond. I don’t trust either of these guy’s- Bongino or meatball.

the few people that I met that were actively in that agency were a complete mixed bag – one extremely professional, the other 2 one an outright opportunist, the other so arrogant he would not listen to actual information that could have been of assistance in the thing that he was working on.
It was a real eye-opener that when dealing with the various agencies it really is the luck of the draw which type a person would be dealing with.
SS agents are no different than your average FBI agent or other fed. They are average people with an inflated opinion of themselves. I’ve never been impressed with ones I’ve interacted with over the years.

Pay attention to what is said about who knew of the dirty voter rolls, when they knew it, and to whom they openly confirmed their knowledge. I have worked in many jails throughout my career and mental health. I don’t know where they would be able to logistically house him along with secret service agents. Cells are rather small. I don’t know how many Secret Service agents he would require I assume more than one and I have never seen a cell that would be large enough. The facilities just aren’t set up like that. How close do the Secret Service agents need to be to President Trump? Would they need to be inside of his self or would they be able to stand outside of his cell? They would disrupt everything in the prison. It would be an absolute nightmare for everyone making it kind of a fun idea. In fact, it would be so disruptive that I’m sure they would have to give him a trial immediately to stop the madness. I can’t stand the thought of my hero being in a prison cell however, I don’t know how it would last for 24 hours where would they actually put him and his Secret Service
