Dominion voting systems had sued Fox News for $1.6 billion, claiming defamation about statements surrounding the 2020 election outcome and Dominion voting systems. Today Dominion and Fox settled the lawsuit for $787 million.
The lawsuit itself is odd in that both the plaintiff and the defendant carried the same political motivation within it. As an outcome of ideology, Fox News wanted to cement the 2020 election as clear Biden victory, the same position as Dominion. The settlement provides that narrative to U.S. MSM corporate news. The same corporate news who pushed the fraudulent Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy theory, without accountability.

It was not immediately clear where this admission took place, beyond Fox’s statement that “We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false” — or whether Fox News had agreed to a more formal acknowledgement in a public way. Fox News Says: “We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems,” Fox News officials said in a statement after an agreement had been reached. “We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false. “We are hopeful that our decision to resolve this dispute with Dominion amicably, instead of the acrimony of a divisive trial, allows the country to move forward from these issues,” the statement said.

I thought this lawsuit was going to force dominion to come clean about their alleged electronic vote manipulation in ’20 and ’22. That didn’t happen I guess.
Most likely its why Dominion settled…because they didnt want it to happen. You don’t settle for half of your original damage amount if you have a rock solid case. You do it to take what you can get and not have to testify.

This lawsuit is to discourage anyone outside of the Big Club from questioning fraudulent elections. Instead of claiming that Dominion helped steal the election, all people have to do is demand transparent elections and a transparent audit of equipment and ballots after every election regardless of which party wins. Who would be against that?
This is like suing a person for stealing a pound of cocaine from your home and you win the settlement.

There is obviously the narrative maintenance that happens with an $800 million “settlement”. Fox News has to account for the call in AZ if they fight Dominion. It just a maintenance fee. But internally, they have just placed an $800 million anvil over the head of every broadcaster at Fox.
Possibly its just funny money in the transfers back and forth between the “interested parties”, but the settlement amount is big enough internally to threaten the on air talent from crossing any narrative lines.

I’ve been a information security professional for almost 30 years. I have worked with multiple Isaacs and spent a good part of my career doing cyber security risk assessments. All IT professionals must keep up with new tech so I have spent more than 100 hours a year in training most years. In any conference I attended prior to 2020 whenever academics or cyber professionals talked about attack vectors they always excluded nation state threat actors. The reason being, you can not prevent a nation state from compromising your electronic systems if you are a target. Since 2020, nothing has changed to make this false. I know of no cyber pro that believes personally that electronic voting can be secured, given the multiple controls needed that do not exist. They of course will not say this publicl. In short electronic voting can not be secured from state threat actors.
There was no question the Murdochs were only going to mount a token defense.
