There was always a strong suspicion the woke corporations were holding back negative employment intentions until after the midterm elections.
Well, as expected, the U.S. multinationals are starting to announce advanced downsizing.
(CNBC) – Tens of thousands of tech workers have been laid off within days, as tech giants including Meta, Twitter, Salesforce and others shed headcount going into the final stretch of the year. At least 20,300 U.S. tech workers were let go from their jobs in November, and more than 100,000 since the beginning of the year, according to Layoffs.fyi, which tracks layoffs in the field.
Tech workers reported huge drops in confidence in their job security through the summer, as news of layoffs, hiring freezes and rescinded offers put a damper on what’s so far been a worker-driven Covid pandemic recovery.
But the latest headlines are all converging at once as businesses course-correct on over-hiring and acknowledge how rising interest rates are thwarting their growth plans, says ZipRecruiter chief economist Julia Pollak. (more)
Nov 11 (Reuters) – Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) is planning to freeze hiring and cut some jobs as it strives to move the Disney+ streaming service to profitability against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, according to a memo seen by Reuters on Friday.
Chief Executive Bob Chapek sent the memo to Disney’s leaders, saying the company is instituting a targeted hiring freeze and anticipates “some small staff reductions” as it looks to manage costs. (read more)
As noted by Yahoo News, a “wave of layoffs” has begun that encompasses dozens of medium and large corporations [SEE HERE].
The layoffs, outlined in Yahoo, cover real estate, tech companies, banking, finance, automakers, EV startups, and brick and mortar stores like 7-11 and GAP. It should not come as a surprise, but it is sad to see, nonetheless.
Within the economy, a great pretending can only last so long… then reality hits.
The skilled trades should likely end up in the best employment situation, with the tech sector the worst. Service industries are also one of the first sectors hit when employment becomes an issue.
With rising interest rates, high inflation, excessive inventories, a shrinking production economy, extreme energy costs and diminished disposable income as a result of inflation and gas prices, there was going to come a time when it all starts to congregate. 2023 looks to be the year when economic pretenses collapse under the weight of having to admit a recession exists.
Yes, layoffs in the high-tech and vast group of newly public startups of the past 3yrs which saw demand soar and now ebb. The hidden story is what most are not paying attention to. Industrials, aircraft/vehicle manufacturing and oil/gas industries and related companies are seeing a surge in hiring that continues to drive the overall employment metric with high productivity positions for which they are well compensated.
The news reports are myopically focused on high-tech and misses the rest. Things are better than anyone believes.
I certainly hope you’re wrong. The only way back for this country is a loss of wealth.
Care to elaborate?
People are too comfortable and as such are apathetic. Add to that we are being ruled with no say in our governance. Economic collapse has a way of shaking things up or at least removing the apathy.
That is true.
On-shoring. There is a hidden move on bringing ESSENTIAL manufacturing back to the US. (Not crap stuff like toys or fashion). Examples are commodities like fertilizers, steel, aluminum.
Russia screwed the pooch on globalization that shut down cheap energy and agricultural supplies to much of the world. Texas being a source of NG will be a big benefactor out of this.
Sounds like something Fetterman might try to say. Doubt it.
were you on Halibut?
speaking of halibut, I was at the butcher shop at my local grocery store
and it was 39.95 per lb.
That’s insane
You can order real sustainably harvested halibut and Alaskan salmon from 10th & M seafoods in Anchorage. Even with shipping in nice dry-iced boxes it is cheaper than store bought and the Real Thing. They do not advertise much because they don’t have to. Airline crews and knowledgeable travelers buy all their catch. Worth buying small freezer, ordering once for the year and eating safe delicious food all year …
Lots of huge semiconductor plants going up in Arizona. (Thank you, President Trump.)
Just found out the other day that a Chinese pharmaceutical plant is going up in Delaware. No one I know knew anything about it. Would not have mattered anyway. People come out and demand things not to happen, but our state legislature does what it wants regardless of what people have to say about it. We are just expected to pay our state taxes and shut up.
As messed up as Arizona is on election day, good for the people who live there.
It won’t be for long with the corrupt HOBBS and company running Az. We should be like California in no time.
With financial help ($19M) from Zhou Bai-Den’s state of Delaware. https://delawarebusinesstimes.com/news/delaware-oks-sta-pharma-grant/. STA is already established with a plant and operations in San Diego, CA. since 2016. None of this is done without the planning of the CCP and many cases the PLA. This country is in very serious trouble with at least a third of those claiming the Right to vote unconscious to the degree of which we are. The midterms simply provide more evidence… as if it was needed at all. The Abyss closes.
“Our government” hasn’t listened to the people for YEARS.
The country actually is in a bona fide DEPRESSION! Criminal Biden/Obama caused it, and criminal Biden/Obama are trying to make it worse. Government spending has to stop. We cannot borrow and spend our way out of this gross mismanagement of the economy. The USA now has to bite the bullet and declare BANKRUPTCY. National Debt is clocked at 31 trillion, while the Unfunded Liabilities are now at 172.5 trillion dollars of debt. Unrecoverable. The country is bankrupted. Hang on to your hats and enjoy the ride.
Governments like ours do not declare bankruptcy. They simply create new currencies and pay you 50 cents on the dollar. They get the rest and claim the debt is decreased.
the powers that be in our government planned on using the cryptocurrency, social scoring and other means to redistribute their wealth….instilling fear in the populous seems to be a key in that process.
Presto, and just like that digital currency, artificial intelligence, block chain technology and the disappearance of hard currency of any kind.
What are you worried about? Just like the college loan debt Biden will use a pen and a phone to make all our country’s debt go away. Poof!! Yeah right.
Judge says no.
Sure did. https://studentaid.gov/debt-relief/application. If it’s not important enough for these louts to repay what they borrowed I’ll be damned if I’ll pay it. Our boys didmn’t take a penny and what we couldn’t kick in off the old Texas Tommorow Fund they picked up the rest themselves and owed nothing when they graduated. Each doing great, great wives, and we have two new grandsons too. This won’t clear the judicial circuit. Even for the Morons of Mordor on the Potomac. It flies in the face of executive authority and U.S. Constitution. Notice the “-R”s had very little hand in stopping it. No surprise. I hope the borrowing bastards of Generation Zyklon are MISERABLE over it being blocked.
Nope he wants to cause suffering and is doing a good job of it.
Are you high right now?
I ate a medical brownie a few hours ago, and that dude’s statement makes zero sense to me.
😆 😆
😀 I don’t care who you are that’s funny right there!
And will those positions continue to be well compensated with displaced white collar workers re-training to do them and flooding into the job market?
Which realm are you living in? I’d like to visit.
Oil and gas are “surging “? LMFAO!!
Many things magically happened after election day.
Student Loan Dropped
Covid Emergency extended to Spring 2023
Recession Reality admitted
Migrant boondoggles expanded
You left out gas prices going up again.
Another example of how they do it to themselves.
Lord do they need Christ.
Were those jobs in the Tech sector really jobs at all? Are Zoom meetings about having Zoom meetings considered “work”? What is the actual product that these people produce? There are many who have spent their lives making actual things(or actually making things happen) with their hands who have these same questions. These are the useless eaters.
They figured out how to collect enough ballots, to win elections.
They don’t need all those censors to quash laptop or WuFlu stories any more?
An ignorant comment. The IT job I’m involved with deals with data integrity and protocols surrounding the prevention of data hacking, remote system intrusion, and a whole host of security-related aspects.
And, I hate to break it to you, but these kinds of activities are what make construction jobs, service jobs, really, any job that you can think of, possible.
Again, you really don’t understand IT work at all, as is evident in your comment.
You sound a bit jealous, or insecure, to be honest. I’d work on that, if I were you. It’s never too late.
If you’re an IT professional and good at your job, you’ve probably got nothing to worry about. I consider that a “skilled trade”. Nonetheless, the tech sector is filled with people who talk about technology all day long and produce nothing all day long. Hopefully, the layoffs are cutting the fat off. You know, all those busybody censorers and doxxers with Admin privileges who have no concept of Integrity.
I didn’t think it was an ignorant comment, nor did it sound jealous or insecure. You obviously took it personal, which says more about you than them.
Signed,
Someone with 30 years in IT, who has more degrees and technical certifications that anyone I know.
Thank you, BFAW.
OOH RAA!
Actually. you can be quite skilled and be laid off. The software application, software platform, the operating system and the machine you write code for can all become obsolete within a single career. I have written assembly, C, C++, Basic, Cobol and Fortran code. I wrote assembly for Motorola and IBM chip sets. I wrote code for 3 of 4 mini computers (before PCs) and a behemoth called the IBM 360/50 and Dec’s Vaxes. Finished my career working on Linux boxes. Some people are hired to do programming projects requiring excellent skills, but, after the project is completed there is down-sizing. Whether they let you go is not strictly determined by your skill set or capability or even credentials. If they are paying you a lot and your position is not an essential skill to the business (rarely the case with software people), they let you go. Maintaining software is usually done by less skilled people. That is the story in development.
In computer support functions like data security, system security, database maintenance and system maintenance, those services are needed on an on-going basis. However, in the majority of cases those positions can be farmed out to firms in those businesses. So, if those services are your firms line of business, then, they will keep you if you are a good performer and not earning top dollar. A lot of computer support functions do not require serious technical chops, they just require a basic understanding and the specifics of how the applications the business uses work. Most businesses downsize these people first.
This actually is true in most industries. There are people who do the bulk of what the business is selling. Those who are good at that usually stay. They keep a skeleton crew in the other areas just to keep the doors open when times get hard.
Wow! So, you CAN code lol 😉
Sounds like my career, 42 years in IT.
Well good for you! Must be nice to have ALL the answers!
You actually provide a service, so don’t take it personally. Sundance and crew are a National Treasure. I didn’t say everybody who pushes buttons on a plastic box for a living in the AC is a wanker. The Socialist Media “Companies” folding like origami is a wonderful thing. They didn’t ‘do” anything. A quote from the movie “Stare Into The Lights My Pretties” sticks with me “The Internet was created to make war and sell things.”
I don’t usually get snitty but your comment sounds elitist. Without that construction job, you sir would not have a building to sit in to do the job that you do.
You cannot have sound without hearing. How do you hear typed words?
Each time the telecom company I worked for had cutbacks, IT and Training were the first departments to go.
And just HOW does “the IT job I’m involved with” make my job as an industrial HVAC technician possible, Dildeau?
I think they are referencing all the back office work that happens so you get a paycheck, unless you are working with automated HVAC systems. On the other hand, there IS a lot of code in the new thermostats.
“there IS a lot of code in the new thermostats.”
Right, the internet of things = deep state control.
I’m not interested in any of it and neither should you be.
Two many keys to the back door.
“And, I hate to break it to you, but these kinds of activities are what make construction jobs, service jobs, really, any job that you can think of, possible.”
Not so much actually.
Your job might ease a bit of my burden, much like a calculator, however the show has and will go on without your data, security etc and so forth.
I’m sure that you are good at what you do.
I’d suggest that you learn how to do actual things because in a minute we, the unwashed masses, are not even going to have electricity to power your iPad.

My wife works in the tech industry with a major corporation.
She has worked there for 15 years now. She has worked her way to an executive position.
She is extremely valuable for them. We moved out of Washington state a year after Covid and her company let her. Her sector of the company creates new products and one at the moment is pretty awesome soon to be released. But no, you can’t hold it in your hands. But with this new product many peoples will be able to make other products. She is one of those people “making things happen” as you put it.
Your comments are always on point. Truth is the whole diversity thing is another huge part of the problem. Best person for the is what matters most.
They are so used to us forgetting how/what happened when we all thought that they were being straight with us. With everything they accused President Trump of, Covid, at the time just seemed a little too suspicious for most people. After the 2020 election my heart was literally broken. I knew then there was no way I could ever believe anything “they” said again.
And I knew that there is no way to ever compromise with anyone that doesn’t tell the truth.
And gas has headed higher.
So has food. Turkeys are much more expensive this year.
Got lucky and got turkey for .98 cents a pound.
Excellent!
Butterball at 99 cents today. Everything else is through the roof.
Same for frozen Butterballs at my store BUT they also have a more generic turkey for sale at $0.37/lb. and turkey breasts for $0.99/lb. I’ve seen other stores in my area with the same pricing.
Yes, I did too, a Butterball no less.
.49/lb. at Kroger with digital coupon now. (Kroger brand)
A few years back, you could get them for .19/lb., after Thanksgiving.
Where?
Ma’am, you are correct. It’s almost like they got us to forget all about the Russian Oil Embargo set for Dec.1.
Energy costs will keep going UP.
And Larry is getting larger
Me thinks they have all their manufacturing enterprises in China, big tech also is imbedded there. They don’t need high overhead in Amerika that has unemployment compensation, high healthcare costs, property taxes and the like. Now we are educating the Chinese students who excel at STEM and get degrees and go back to China. Last point our market is small albeit rich. They want everyone poor.
What you are actually saying is that ‘multi-nationals’, even if “American”, do not value Americans or their business.
When target profits are hard to meet, this is one way in which the balance sheet is ‘reconciled’ to cut expenses.
The forgotten men and women of America, are once again, forgotten and disenfranchised.
BINGO!
Clinton’s “Bagboy” before he became the Green Groper Messiah
I apologize that this is off topic, but all this news this week is so depressing and because of your meme, Colkitto, I had to interject something lighter. I’m thinking of the dark days immediately following 9/11/01 when they closed the US borders, and guess who was on the Canadian side of the US border trying to get back in? It was Al Gore and they wouldn’t let him in! According to witnesses he was outraged.”Don’t you realize who I am?!” LOLOLOL. They should have kept him out for good. Too bad we can’t do that with Biden now that he is overseas. Oh if ONLY we could change the locks….
“No controlling legal authority…”
I market for resorts throughout the US.
Think disposable income customers.
I could have told you back in January because biz was way down, across the board.
Fiscal year/budgets are created in October. Every company knows by then what fiscal decisions must be made long before that, it’s just codified in October.
Back in August I attended several annual meetings re creating next year’s budgets – hoping my company wasn’t getting cut, luckily no – but trimming staff was the number one issue for the next fiscal year.
All businesses knew layoffs were coming by mid summer.
About 6-8 weeks ago, Sundance ran an essay about how costs would escalate in the oil, heating, gas, food, housing areas and the items known as discretionary bigger ticket items, would go on big sale.
I’ve been waiting to buy a fire-sale truck for over a year. Licking my chops because I know it’s coming soon.
If you can buy with cash or a good down-payment with just a 2-3 month payment plan, you’re good. That’s what I intend to do when I buy my new stove and dishwasher.
Are you looking at used? If so, there may be a glut.
What about a firetruck on sale?
Beware Ian soaked vehicles.
I’m still waiting for the new refrigerator to go on sale, but I did find a pretty competitive price at the local furniture and appliance store. Family has been in business here for 60 years. I’ll buy from them before anyone else.
FYI, A guy I knew from Karcher told me to never buy an appliance from a Home Deport/Lowe’s because they use cheaper parts so they can sell at a lower price than an appliance store itself. Good of you buying from a family business anyways. Gl with that
Appliance Direct has pretty good prices compared to Lowe’s or Home Depot.
I have bought from Lowe’s multiple times and those appliances were fine.
My 2 year old LG dishwasher needed a new motor in Oct. the day after it was fixed, my 2 year old (moved 2 years ago and got new appliances) Samsung washer needed a new motor. After making us wait 3 weeks for a part from S. Korea, home warranty people gave in and paid for a new one. I remember appliances working 15-20 years.
Only my Maytag did that. Since they all manufacture in China now, none of them last like that these days.
A few days ago, ‘iggyb’ was mentioning boycotts…I threw out there, that they, boycotts, won’t usually work in the short term because business has plans for how to function in economic down turns…I had suggested boycotts have to last longer than business plans. I am not a business person, gave up the MBA studies after the chapter on ethics….(it seems there are none).
I think we are seeing an emerging ‘business plan’ enacted? In your case, it relates to an annual budget.
The only thing with target profits, prices get raised if they are not met.
You have made an EXCELLENT point re boycott success.
However, prices get cut.
You only raise prices when your operating costs increase or market dictates – think supply/demand scenario – otherwise, you cut overhead which means employees.
I haven’t seen any discounts when vacation planning yet.
You will next year.
I hope so, I have a huge airline credit from the covidiocy
Now it’s time for musical chairs….
Gonna be some big losers’
Release the Kraken…..
Are the ballot harvesters/counters off on weekends?
Is it a Union Yes job?
Laxalt has been leading the entire time, and as more ballots come in his lead is shrinking. Where are they going to call the election? When he starts losing?
Slow motion counting is done this way: they get all the red votes counted first—then they have a total to overcome—the margins for red candidate losses are always slim—but enough to declare a blue winner. I think the Supreme Court is going to HAVE to get involved in this steal. (That is why they take so long to count votes in some states.)
I hope these are people who voted Blue.
x
It is disheartening to read what millions of American voters had as top priorities, abortion among them. The quality of the candidates did not seem to matter. Only that they had a D after their name. And, of course, the DEMS have learned to manipulate voters using ballots. One wonders if even the pollsters had a clue about how ballots were going to skew the outcome of the election. Apparently not. The most appalling race among many was the PA Senate race. PA voters had 50! days of early voting and the Oz campaign let Fetterman get away with a debate right before the election. It is just….I don’t know what. One thing for sure is that the REP party better start accepting and understanding the ramifications of early voting by ballot as if their political viability depended on it.
On early voting /mail in voting , ballot collections , etc , several good writers on Real Clear (Zito , Roger Kimball ) have said we can complain all we want , but it is here to stay and Dems have perfected it and unless the Rep. want to keep losing ( which certainly some do) they had better get in that game and up it very quickly. Unfortunately , the term “Election DAY ” which used to be an important event , has totally lost its meaning under this newest methodology. So Bad
They don’t care because they are just the flip side of the uni-party.
Jonathan Turley:
Within 24 hours of the Georgia election officially heading to a December runoff, media outlets ranging from National
Public Radio to Time magazine released stories suggesting that the runoff itself is a racist invention…
https://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/3732205-georgia-puts-democracy-on-the-ballot-why-runoffs-should-be-the-rule-in-every-state/
They’re like rats, everywhere and dirty!
The runoff is between 2 black Americans. Duh! This “racist” crap needs to be called out by every American for what it is; a Dem-led DS mantra that has passed its “sell-by” date.
Has anyone said what they’re going to do with the thousands of H1B workers the tech companies brought in? All I’ve heard & read is that that corporate America and the Indian headhunters that supply them with cheap labor are angry that the rest of us have noticed and are saying “Hey, shouldn’t they be laid off first?”
In the last big implosion, they laid off the Americans first and kept the cheaper labor. We all noticed then. We all complained then. It changed nothing. That’s the root problem with globalism, multi-nationalism, etc. We mean nothing to them.
That’s what corporations always do. They have been doing it to citizens in tech since the 1990s.
Deport them and their carbon footprints and you would be reducing America’s Globull Warming Green House Gases, and pollution, which the Green Nazi’s tell us have to be reduced to save the planet (and local green house gas reduction laws)
Another batch of carefully harvested ballots in AZ just dropped and I sht you not, Hobbits lead stayed exactly the same.
These drops are designed to eliminate the other MAGAs Kari Lake will need as Governor.
When they do decide to count the MAGA vote, the difference will be too much to make up.
I trust Kari will not drop the ball on this farce of election “results.”
I admire her because I think she is one of these types of persons –
“When the going gets tough, the tough get going”
Kari is going to do what she has to do. She is already making plans on her first moves as governor.
I trust she will expose the fraud if the steal comes to fruition.
I really can’t help but smile when I hear Disney or Tech companies are laying people off. Their employees are the wokest of the woke. They are getting exactly what they voted for and should be happy.
Hopefully there are lots of millennials and Gen Z in the lot that now can’t make their student loan payments Biden can’t forgive.
Where the West is going, the traditional forms of profit in Capitalism are insignificant.
Since they hate Heritage America so much, I would enjoy their being dropped off into Central Africa and experience the real diversity they claim to adore & worship.
The scariest part of all the lay-offs is in healthcare and hospitals…not seeing much about that at all. Actually not even on any list I have seen and yet it’s happening everywhere. I don’t believe the WARN Act website has much on there as many are hidden behind major corporations. Hospitals are closing their doors and limiting services, especially the for-profit ones.
Scary times coming in 3…2…1.
Just outside Philthadelphia…
https://www.inquirer.com/business/health/delaware-county-memorial-closed-er-fallout-hospitals-20221111.html
All that covid money went somewhere.
Into already deep dirty pockets
Wow. They’ve been saying hospitals are already short of staff.
If one recalls, Disney was the one who laid off/fired a portion of their IT Dept.
In order to qualify for the severance package, those fired employees had to train
the new employees from India who were working for lower salaries, etc.
in other words, the fired employees had to train their replacements.
To “build back better” requires a demolition and that is exactly what Washington DC intends to do! Your representative politicians are engaged in betrayals and treasons under the belief they will be spared consequences and will simply be spectators. That will not be true. On the other hand, the population of America have betrayed their gift of the United States being a God-fearing and righteous entity, largely protected from the ravages and stains of war. That also will no longer be true. The price for betrayal is uncomprehendable. Prepare!
Before you “remake” something, you have to destroy it first.
“Barack Obama is unlike any other President of the United States in having come from a background of decades of associations and alliances with people who resent this country and its people.”
How Obama Is Changing America
https://thenewamerican.com/how-obama-is-changing-america/
It’s going to be a devastating next 2 years. We The People will win in the end. As long as “We” do not give up, do not give in, and do not bend. America First and MAGA are not slogans; it is what WE believe.
Democrats were lying about the real numbers all along. What a surprise!
Back in the day the great Lou Dobbs used to end his show with all the companies leaving the US thanks to the long list of traitors from both parties, spearheaded by Clinton & Gingrich’s “NAFTA” & “WTO” treason.
Perhaps Lou Dobbs can get on One America News (OAN) and do segments of the companies leaving America again because of the Build Back Bolshevik treason. Start with Electrolux’s massive layoffs, who had expanded operations because of PDJT & MAGA policies, and are now going to constrict and layoff because of Biden & his red diaper baby globalist anti-american policies.
MAGA=more jobs. Globalist Build Back Better (treason)= less jobs
The only problem with companies leaving the US. There are German companies who are shifting operations to a US branch because energy prices here are cheaper than in Germany. There are also companies from China who are opening shop in the US.
He has a great podcast now.
Something I’ve noticed recently. If you send back a return, retailers are processing your refund slower. Like they are low on cash or trying to hold it as long as possible.
Indeed they are.
I had to return a defective part to Advance Auto today. Not something that’s happened often with them but when it has, they happily refunded it in an instant. Today, the clerk tried to tell me I installed it wrong, so I called another over. That one looked at it, saw the problem but said he could not figure out how to refund it because I paid online (pickup in store). I told him to get the manager who came out. He was a patronizing 20’s something geek who told me the corporate policy had changed and refunds for defective parts need to be processed through the manufacturer. Boiling over by this point, I had had to invite him outside to talk it over before he punched in a few keys and refunded the full price.
I received a weird receipt for purchases at Petsmart. Each item showed its price and also its return price, which was lower. For example: buy a dog leash for $12, but if you return it, you receive only $10 back. They really don’t want to deal with returns.
They are also tightening up their return policies – Walmart 30 days with receipt only – Home Depot nothing if purchase older than 6 months. Also, Home Depot has people at their “cashier free” checkout hovering and watching the process.
I hope they all end up
Eating out of dumpsters
70% of da gubmint needs to be let go. 1/2 the senators and 1/2 the representatives to start
Outstanding idea…we can completely eliminate many federal departments like the NEA, FBI, EPA ( ok, maybe just cut it), HUD, IRS…the list could go on. Let these reprobates find real jobs. And oh, yea, no pensions.
I have been around long enough to see John F Kennedy inaugurated this is so embarrassing for this country. So ashamed about what’s going on. We should apologize to every man woman who fought for this country to be seeing the likes of what is going on now with our election system.
“We need a big strong American government with big strong American bureaucracies managing big strong American regulations to have big strong American corporations!”
“Won’t that kill not just American business but American society?”
“No, no, no — NOT having Socialism is what kills a society! Freedom is a serial killer, I tell you!”
What are we going to do about this? It appears we are helpless in face of vast impersonal forces. or very powerful people and institutions. Judging by mid-terms, the economic decline is not a major issue.
If not, then what do we do?
Run yourself for local, county, state, or federal. Join a local Tea party or start one up. And or this:

The obvious (intentional) economic decline will not be noticed by the ‘mainstream media watchers’ until there is no gas at the pumps, store shelves are empty, and all services are interrupted.
Fake Media tells them all what to think and do, and does NOT report on the ugly truths.
Our piggy bank is just about broken. But hey, let’s keep sending billions … to Ukraine.
Maybe the plan of the globullists, in case their minions turn on them, is to escape to Ukraine. Or perhaps Kiev will be the new Brussels.
I don’t feel helpless. Pissed off is more like it. Determined to throw sand in their machinery. Committed to live in Freedom and defend my family against the government where necessary. I accept none of their tomfoolery. I owe no allegiance to the United States Congress of Embeciles. My allegiance is to God first, and then to my family, and then to my country.
Stand Firm. And don’t budge. You will inspire those around you to also stand firm. You will set an example of how to live. The Powers That Be are actually a bunch of cowards who use fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) to manipulate opinion. There are more of us than them. If we are not successful in turning this country around, we can die knowing we did everything in our power to save America. And I don’t mind dying for a good cause. Show them you’re not impressed. Mock them mercilessly. Stare them down. Be taller than them.
I know, seems like just a bunch of words, doesn’t it? It’s actually a lifestyle.
Not to worry. They can learn to mine coal.
Hahahah! You win the internet today!
moved to other thread.
Learn to coal.
One wonders how concerned investors are with CEO’s who postpone layoffs for political reasons?
Just saying…….
Shareholders beware.
Now there is an idea. Shareholder class action lawsuits for corporate officers failing to follow their fiduciary commitments.
The Invaders deserve NO LAND. EVER. Sorry for “yelling’ but that is not, IMHO an option.
Well, nice for you that your favorite cousins are Pappas’ I’m not a Pappas by blood. And almost all the Pappas’s I know are Libs/Lefties. Including Chris Pappas who just got re-elected in NH as a State Representative.
FWIW: I kept the last name of my ex-husband for the sake of my kids, who were pre-teens, in the early 80s when Pappas wanted a divorce. It was for the sake of my kids, living in small town USA.
They do not need to feel “welcome” either. They are taking resources away from American elderly and children. I am at the point I can’t look at them. Louisana was a dump site in the middle of the night because they are so many new ones it is disgusting. All fat and not a care in the world.
The correction in high tech like Meta (FB) and likely others suggest there was likely a bubble that could not be sustained given its real value to society. Nevertheless, the story is these GenZ types were D+28 for recent election cycle. I wonder if they GenZ know how to connect the dots (critical and rational thinking) between Democrats and the policies they advocate for and the end results of these policies? As Sundance has posted previously there are two sides: supply and demand. To help supply a coherent energy policy and supply chain repair. On the demand side will get fixed once the government stops its profligacy and a return to energy dominance and independence.
I doubt they understand that Biden’s policies result in Biden’s miseries. Most do not.
I hope Sundance is right about trades. We need our high schools incentivized to focus on technical education. Our economy needs people trained in the trades and our children need to have options other than college or bagging groceries (since all the barista jobs are taken up by liberal arts and gender studies students)
Learn a trade and perhaps a Associates degree from a inexpensive County College. Some of my classmates went to learn autobody at the Tech school in HS and did pretty good afterwards.
Our school has blessedly brought back vocational Ed with a more modern twist. They still offer auto mechanics and welding, but they also have robotics, medical assistant and vet tech, plus a few others. One of my kiddos will graduate in May and be eligible to sit for the state vet tech exam immediately. If this wasn’t offered in HS, she would need to spend 2 years in community college to be eligible to take the exam.
I’m aware of another school district in Central Texas that has brought back technical Ed, so obviously it’s permitted by Texas law and approved by the TEA. I really hope it makes a comeback nationwide.
Imagine the number of immigrants the multinationals would not need if our high schools taught construction trades. Imagine how many young adults could be contributing to the economy and social security instead of living on the dole and racking up college debt. Imagine how many homeless might never have sunk so low or gotten addicted if they learned to make a living in high school.
Looking at that Layoff.fyi site, I counted 14 out of the most recent 30 companies are in the San Francisco Bay area. From the latest 20 companies, 10 are from SF Bay area.
Going to be a lot of unemployment in San Francisco Bay.

LOL! Great answer!
Or scoop poop off the streets!
You win the internet for the day! LOL
I think he got a little ahead of himself here. He forgot about the Fraud Factor. At least for Blake Masters.
Incompetent implies their actions are not intended.
David Clements:
DeSantis is for all the “conservatives” still plugged into the matrix that psychologically cannot handle how broken our election system and government institutions truly are.
These weak minded conservatives need to believe the world still more or less functions.
Trump, on the other hand, unplugged Americans from the matrix.
We found ourselves covered in swamp slime, and disgusted by our swamp surroundings.
We can’t unsee what we’ve seen.
There is no alternative to 45.

President Trump on the possibility of a challenge from Ron DeSantis:
“I don’t know that he’s running,” Mr. Trump said of the 2024 presidential race. “I think if he runs he could hurt himself very badly.”
“I think he would be making a mistake… I think the base would not like it.”
“If he runs, he runs,” Mr. Trump said. But he added: “If he did run, I will tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him than anybody other than perhaps his wife, who is really running his campaign.”

“Election Night in America” – wish they would make up their minds, is the election over or what?
On second thought, WHO cares what CNN says!
Sorry, meant to post these election related posts in the Presidential politics section.
I hope they all voted democrat.
just desserts are best served cold.
Another post-election surprise for leftists. . .
Had a nice coffee-conversation with a senior guy at my (outstanding) local plumbing outfit. Opposite of 3 years ago when they had trouble finding one youngster to reliably show up to work, they now have full journeyman staff, and are buying 3 additional trucks because they have 3 solid apprentices in various stages now and are going to bring on 2 more before spring.
Even as apprentices, these guys (no gals yet) – on average – literally OWN their ubiquitous F-150 or Toyota Tundra, are making payments on small starter homes and are getting part of their tools expenses paid for and a variety of other things while NOT accruing monstrous debt in search of a degree in “Water Flow Studies.” And the whole shop are busier than a 1-armed paper hanger. (This is non-union country, people just go to work.)
What a contrast from “learn to code.” The folks in tech who’ve made themselves indispensable are that way because they literally know how to fix a company’s core infrastructure. The rest of CS, HR, and the assorted ash & trash aren’t even loss-leaders, or useful ballast. Companies are waking up.
God Bless Mike Rowe who has made it his life’s work to get young Americans into trades. It’s taken decades of lobbying for universities to corrupt our compulsory public education system to the point where one of the primary metrics of the “success” of every high school in America is how close they are to a 100% college acceptance rate. That Mike Rowe has been able to make a small dent in this entrenched stupidity is a testimony to his dedication and fortitude.
…acknowledge how rising interest rates are thwarting their growth plans.
And why are those interest rates so high? Because of the out of control spending they supported. Same story with the rest of the problems they are facing…high inflation, excessive inventories, a shrinking production economy, extreme energy costs and diminished disposable income as a result of inflation and gas prices
Learn to mine coal.
I swear- just a few short months ago- they couldn’t find people to work.
At the same time- many corporations had hiring freezes implemented.
The problem is that many companies haven’t had people actually working. The workers have been home in their PJ’s making Zoom calls and going into work one or two days a month.
Awwww…poor little techie drones got canned. Couldn’t happen to a more lefty loon bunch of morons. Should have voted for Trump instead of censoring the snot out of any contrary speech.
you will own nothing and (not) be happy
McConnell needs to be denied a leadership position. He told me a journalist what Republicans would do if in charge?
“Vote for us and find out.”He said.
Aren’t we all glad that 99% of the corrupt Democrats that got us into this mess just got re-elected. This just goes to show how the STUPID runs deep in this country or Trump was right and the elections are being won by massive cheating.
It sure would be helpful to know which one is correct as it’s almost impossible to fix a problem we can’t define.
Both. And people are selfish. If they think it will benefit their pocket, that is how they vote.
one word to all those suckers…SUCKERS!!!
And by 2024, broke and working for minimum wage somewhere, they will express their outrage by voting blue again. Never Trump!
Check out this man’s Twitter feed. A lot of Twitter contractors were let go today with no notice at all. They just disappeared from the system and their access was cut off.
Suddenly skilled tradesmen may find that newly unemployed techie females discover heretofore unexpressed longings for them that they’ve secretly held back. Hold out guys. Don’t give in to the gold diggers just like that. Make them try harder.
