By all outward appearances the acquisition of the Twitter social media platform by billionaire Elon Musk looks like it is going through.
According to bank filings and financial transfer documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal {link}, the process to finalize the purchase is taking place. Meanwhile Mr. Musk used the platform to notify Twitter advertiser of his intent in the purchase {link}:
The cleaving of information on social media and information platforms is already well underway. I doubt anything currently undertaken to slow that process will have any effect. In essence, the ideological Big Tech platforms removed half the potential discussion purposefully and with specific intent; that decision has created alternate platforms where a more honest non-woke conversation about issues and events takes place.
Corporate advertising is part of the attack vector controlled by professional activists who use threats, fear and intimidation to target any advertiser who might want to reach an audience on a platform not directly controlled by Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Big Tech in general. Musk’s appeal to advertisers does nothing to stop organized left-wing political activist groups from continuing their onslaught against speech they disagree with. In the modern era few, if any, large advertisers want to enter this mosh pit political brawl.
(Wall Street Journal) […] Mr. Musk describes himself as a “free speech absolutist” and has said Twitter should be more cautious about removing tweets or banning users.
Mr. Musk may have reasons to avoid any drastic changes to Twitter’s ad business. Twitter will take on $13 billion in debt in the deal. The online ad markets already are shaky, amid concerns about the economy, with Snap Inc. and Alphabet Inc. posting lower-than-expected revenue results for the September quarter. (more)
The extreme left-wing mob that occupies space on the internet, along with the corporate media who align with the mob, view the ideological battle as a zero-sum war. Speech that stands in opposition to their efforts is labeled as violence, while violence that supports their efforts is defined as speech. They are not going to stop attacking just because Elon Musk appeals to reason or humanity.
Most modern leftists appear, at least from what is openly visible, to hold extremely unstable dispositions. Their arguments are weak and full of hypocrisy. As a result, when challenged their initial response is an emotional attack -often filled with vitriol and hate- because they have defined themselves by their belief system. The COVID-19 vaccination fiasco highlights for many of us the scale of the number of people who have lost connection to logic and discernment.
A person who willingly took the COVID-19 vaccination was in a no-retreat position. Presenting information that runs counter to their baseline assumptions was futile, they had no way to exit or reverse the decision. The ideological debate on social media is fraught with the same dynamic. When people define themselves, define their purpose, through an ideological belief system, it is almost impossible to establish communication.
The conservative believes man is born free and will be who he is, no matter what arbitrary limitations or rules are put on him. The leftist believes man is perfectible, and by extension, believes a society at large is perfectible, and command and control are justified in the quest to a “perfect” utopian society. (Sound familiar?)
The conservative tends to be more faithful – and not necessarily in God, but in the ability of the individual to find great strength in himself (or from his God) to get what he needs and to be successful. Therefore, the conservative has an outlet for his fear and disappointment – trust and faith in something bigger.
The leftist believes the system must be perfected in order to enable success. Therefore, disappointment is channeled as anger and blame at the system. Voids are left to be filled by faith in the govt, which they surely then want to come in and “fix” things. And therein lies the roots of love and fear respectively.
For the conservative, when life presents great struggles, he knows he has the power to surmount them. Happiness stems from internal strength and perseverance. For the modern leftist, when life presents great struggles, the system failed, therefore they were at the mercy of a faulty system, and they believe that only when the system is fixed can their life improve. Happiness is built on systemic contingencies, which they will then seek to control or expect someone else to.
One holds himself accountable for his/her success in life. The other blames anyone and everyone but him or herself.
And there it is…. There’s where the hate and violence come from.
The leftist ideology causes that person to cast anger at the world when things go wrong or appear “unfair.” He/she constantly chooses only to see the “injustices” – and that makes for a very miserable, mean, blame-casting existence.
I like what he is saying.
I don’t care for his cars.
Same for me….. except his latest public comments on the PRC and future of Taiwan.
No one like Toyota’s Datsuns or Honda when they 1st came out either…They rusted and broke down faster then anything ever seen before…It took 15 years bit by the time the 80’s rolled around…they were everywhere
I had forgotten about the early Hondas. A neighbor bought one and it never got out of his driveway except on the back of a wrecker towing it back to dealership.
I remember when Musk launched a hundred thousand dollar Tesla coupe into space about 4 years ago.
It’s still up there with Starman at the wheel. I thought that was pretty cool, but I’d never buy an electric car.
Sundance your first mistake is granting that the leftists even possess a brain.
Well, they do use something to plot and scheme their evil schemes.
that is not their brain. that is their rotten soul
It is just AbbyNormal
Is that because I posted the Young Frankenstein clip some time ago? 🙂
Abby somebody….
While I realize your comment is tongue and cheek, some make the mistake of underestimating those who seek to destroy our Constitutional Republic. I find nothing about what the marxist democrats are doing to be in the least bit funny.
They’re at war with real Americans.
….or a soul.
I wonder why the Left has trouble multi-tasking. Walking, talking, and chewing gum all at the same time for a Lefty is nigh impossible! They have their view but can’t seem to follow your view at the same time. I see it when I engage my sister. We had the same parents, went to the same school, ate the same food, drank the same koolade and water, yet, I can’t seem to ever get my point across. It’s always wrong and they can’t comprehend being wrong. Maybe it’s in the wine, LOL! I drink beer!
Words are nice and all, but this is one of those times were belief comes after the proof is given. And it will take a lot of proof.
If Musk was our friend the multi national banks would have deplatformed his bank accounts. Not help him pay for the acquisition. Just ask Ye
.
I guess we’ll see… We’ll have to keep an eye on the avenues for data collection that go beyond enticing users to check out this or that furniture store or financial product…
(In the meantime, my overriding thought is that it must be way fun to be the richest man in the world.)
.
And the number one pusher for all this is the propaganda parrot media. Without their megaphone all of this would die on the vine.
The cabal would not have even attempted to push the covid hoax and subsequent 2020 election steal if the MSM was not already completely onboard and complicit..
Imagine….real journalists investigating and questioning all the evidence of fraud? Daily? The narrative wouldnt just die, it would be reversed.
I don’t trust Musk as far as I can throw him. His past exhibits elitism and globalism. He may be a loose cannon, but he’s the left’s loose cannon.
Musk may cause occasional collateral damage to the authoritarians but he’s still their tool.
That doesn’t mean I don’t derive some pleasure in watching God turn their own against them.
The left are upset with Musk for switching parties and joining the GOP.
I don’t expect a whole lot of change and I’ll still never go on Twitter, but it’ll be interesting to watch.
David Frum claims to be a republican, and he says the gubmint should seize and nationalize Starlink Satellites.
Musk is not GOP either. He is an opportunist.
As are the majority of politicians and govt. bureaucrats, including Republicans. Ambitious idea people avoid being part of that group, imo.
Their HR department at the 4th Branch needs to be gutted first and an immediate pause on H1B applicants would help solve the diversity problem. Id love to have a job cleaning that up.
Can anyone spot the straight white male? Ill Zelle you a beer.
Fat guy on right, sports jacket with plaid shirt….he does have a tan but features are Caucasians
Nice try.
This is a trick question, isn’t it?
Its like feeling sick with a cold or flu and then getting a covid test. There is only one right answer.
he’s the janitor
There isn’t one.🤷
Might be the photographer…who, of course we can’t see.
Clean that up? Simple. Invite the lot for a all expenses paid cruise during Shark Week. And let nature take its course.
LOL, I won’t peer into that photo, at risk of damaging brain cells and possibly my retina, looking for a phantom that doesn’t exist, unless and until you Zelle me that beer first!
Have you tried using a jewlers loupe?
I saw this definition the other day…
“Leftism is moral syphilis.”
Who am I to argue?
I read a comment on here the other day.
“People who failed at being human”
I agree with that one as well. I always say there are just some people who are born with pieces missing.
👉 It will be revealing to see what Elon Musk and his consortium of “investors” owe in protection money 💰 or other information control corruption to TPTB(The Powers That Be)👈
👍Hopefully he’ll get a functional distribution center for posting 📫 ideas 💡and information for our MAGA Citizens before being required by TPTB for any special “favors” owed to TPTB👌
Praying 🙏 🤲 that this is an immediate game changer especially for getting ALL sides of the Uniparty exposed with some much needed transparency😉
✅️I’m not expecting TPTB to give up any tracking information nor any corrupt influences on Twitter. Hopefully users can at least post 📫 information that will remain for ALL interested users to see 👀.
I’m glad you’re not expecting TPTB to give up tracking, especially on Twitter, Joel.
Because they won’t. In fact, I fully expect them to double down. It’s what Stalinists do.
I hope they will offer a grace period to reinstate banned accounts. Miss some of the friends I made on Twitter
Elon has great plans for Twitter and we can only hope he is being truthful.
But……always a but…….he might build something which others could use for more control.
That is the concern and I hope he is smart enough to safeguard against this threat.
The same principle that applied to Dr Robert Malone’s development of MRNA messaging, which I’m sure he meant for the benefit of mankind.
It fell into the hands of malevolent eugenicists who have corrupted the purpose of it for their own ends. It was ever thus.
It fell into DARPA’s hands….. which never results in a good outcome for mankind.
No, GB. Dr Malone himself was trusting of his MRNA work. So trusting that he got the beastly jab. It was only after that that he realized all that we know now. I suspect all he has done, written of, spoken of since is a sort of penance. I’m only guessing.
And now that it has been proven that technology changes the substance of what we are, our God given DNA, I suppose the next thing they’ll do is redefine “mankind”.
It is all so evil I can barely endure thinking in depth about it.
Watch this Betsy. It’ a brand new video… .apparently part of a longer event/presentation.
https://rwmalonemd.substack.com/p/mrna-vaccines-the-cia-and-national
Bookmarked…will watch tomorrow. Thank you so much , my friend.
To be the most effective advertising platform, one has to know a LOT about the people using the platform in GREAT detail.
I’m still not joining Twitter or any social network.
Perfectly stated about the different life thought process between the left and the right.
Michael,
Agree, and Sundance also clarifies why Musks attempt can’t be succesful.
Musk is basically saying “Why can’t we all “get along”, and sit down and calmly debate our differences?”
I tried that, with my libtard, leftists sister.
I went over the traditional rules for debate, and we began discussing various ‘issues’.
After 3 such conversations, each over an hour long, she said she “Didn’t want to do this any more, because after ever conversation, she was angry for two days.”
She was angry, because she found herself agreeing with me, ie. she was losing the debate, and finding her core beliefs, grounded on FEELINGS, to be wrong.
Either twitter will constantly be hammered by the equivalent of Antifa, or it will become a conservative conversation only.
Either way, I am pretty sure he will FAIL, because the LAST thing libtards want, is an honest debate.
Notice the nearly universal responce of both RINO and Libtard candidates, to debating MAGA Candidates .
They KNOW their core beliefs, based on feelings, are WRONG. They have no interest in having that pointed out to them.
Well said Dutchman !!
In college, I willingly took the “Devil’s Advocate” position on projects at times to test the strength of my position on different topics and it also gave me the added benefit of insight into how to counter their bullet points in a debate if my original position held true…….you should always consider the counterpoint to your position if it has reasonableness and validity……at the very least it will often refine your position more fully than the course idea you held previously
I was never an official member of an actual debate team but from my understanding, you are ASSIGNED your position on topics without consideration of personal opinion and you have to develop your talking points so that you can give spirited debate as a proper advocate……it kind of reminds me of a practicing attorney in this regard who sometimes disagrees with his client but must do what is best for and within his client’s preferences
until you can get someone WILLING to at least consider there are two sides to look at and maybe theirs is not 100% correct any serious debate on a topic is just time wasted….if there is no possibility of convincing then that person is a lost cause……Bongino however does bring up an interesting point from time to time….. sometimes the debate is not to influence the one you face off with but the audience who are witnessing it….if you can get them to consider your points the debate may prove fruitful
Or as Jonathan Swift observed 300 years ago: “Reasoning will never make a Man correct an ill Opinion, which by Reasoning he never acquired: for in the Course of Things, Men always grow vicious before they become Unbelievers.” [Jonathan Swift: A Letter to a Young Gentleman, Lately Enter’d into Holy Orders, page 27… https://repository.monash.edu/files//original/19e47d339636876376efb8492f11fb2b.pdf ]
When Elon brings in his own leadership team, things are going to go off the rails. The bird perch is toast.
You can trust me. I’m not like the others.
(Said the guy who’s built several companies with the support of big govt contracts and govt research and development platforms).
Elon makes a good speech.
I will wait and see what he does with Twitter once the deal goes through. I’m not going to set myself up with specific expectations from this deal.
Granted, there will be interesting developments in the near term.
<…there will be interesting developments in the near term.>
Musk has already announced his plan to reduce Twitter workforce to only 280 characters 🙂
H/T –> Babylon Bee
This, his actions will speak so loud we won’t be able to hear a word he says – if, big if, those actions are not in line with his words.
I thought his opening communication to advertisers was well put. Now comes the test.
Thank you Sundance for your intent to bring clarity Treepers. One reason I frequent the Treehouse articles is to gain insight as to how things are, and thus how things are likely to be in the future. While I generally take a position of optimism and hope, I thirst for and treasure the truth. I come here to learn how things are, not how I wish them to be. The truth will set us free, whereas lies and deception will lead us to be manipulated and controlled. As is stated here with accurate frequency, the truth has no agenda.
Perhaps Musk believes he can change the discourse by talking about it. If he’s someone people will listen to, then maybe he can be the one who points out the king is naked. He might create a “space” where the rational, logical voices can be heard and not cancelled immediately. IF it succeeds it’s still going to take a long time to bring civility back. Good luck!
I disagree with Sundance on a rather technical but significant detail:
“In essence, the ideological Big Tech platforms removed half the potential discussion purposefully and with specific intent;”
I no longer believe the left represents “half of the country.” There are Democrat voters who believe the false characterization of the right, but in terms of pure ideology, I believe the hard left, the view which dominates the left-side of the issue is a SMALL population. The evidence is EVERYWHERE.
We say “silence = complicity” but that’s not really true. Silence just means not wanting to get involved and most importantly not wanting to be a target. This is why the polls projecting Democrat wins are NEVER accurate.
But there’s more evidence. If they were “half” why do they have to work SO HARD to cheat??? The answer is simply that they know this is the only way they can win. And right now, the projected Republican takeover is very likely still exaggerating Democrat polling.
And this is what Trump has known all along. And this is why he always says “noisy majority! not silent majority!”
We are the majority and that includes Democrats who don’t know what else to do. So (1) we welcome them. And (2) we need to act like the MAJORITY we actually are.
Do Not Back Down any longer. Do not shy away. Just say “No, this is wrong and I’m not going to participate in your game.” Use the right words, not the ones they tell you to say instead of the ones which mean what they say.”Illegal Aliens” for example. When you tell them you see right through their manipulations, they will find they have nothing they can say.
Well said.
The country was non-leftist by a large majority by the time of Barry’s second term.
The people woke up and realized that most republicans in office were paid actors, many with contempt for our values while they feigned agreement during the primaries.
There was a great reset, a real great reset in 2016 and the ruling class would not and could not allow their decades long plans to be defeated.
The cheating that I believe has been going on for decades came out in the open.
Hell, people are under indictment or worse for pointing out the loss of voting rights.
Folks hate when I point out that their unknowable voting system denies voting rights to women and blacks.
Jay six was probably the most important march for voting rights in the history of the USA.
Say that to a lefty and watch a head explode
Very good comment Daniel.
My Grandpa use to say “Tell the truth and shame the Devil”.
I was saying that to my husband the other day and he said ” You have said that for years but I have never really understood what it means?”.
I said that it means when you shine the light of truth on evil people they slink back into the shadow or back into the darkness where they came from, they are shamed into hiding.
Your comment about using the right words is important, like not calling people “migrants” but calling them “illegal aliens”.
Or talking about exactly what the gender reassignment surgeries are.
They are double mastectomies and hysterectomies for ten year old female children and castrations for little boys.
Like you I do not believe the left represents any where near half the country.
The snotty ones who still think of themselves as progressive focus on racial equality and helping the poor.
I like to bring up the pornography that the Dems want in grade school libraries and the horrific mutilation they are pushing for children under their gender reassignment policies.
Cutting off little girls breasts and little boys testicles is not a real popular idea and any one who promotes it is seriously weird.
My whole life I have generally tracked the % of the Dem’s base that are hard ass power types, these include the commies, strong statist socialists (which include big business that really hates competition. And Gov contractors), government employees (Fed, State and Local whos jobs and advancement needs BIG Gov), the “takers”, and the radicals (LGBTQA etc wirdos who want to be normalized and make you as Miserable as they are). Back in the 60’s I felt this represented 10% of the total population, and 15-18 % of the Dems base. Over the years this oscillated, but slowly rose to about 30% until Obama. Since 2008, that number has gone up 50% – half of the Dems base (in other words, about 25% of the voting population). The balance of their base are the long term “my grand father was a Dem, my dad was a Dem etc” because ….? That part has slowly been reducing as some truly wake up to the scam.
I agree, Daniel. I would add that Musk knows this, too. I believe his perceived move to the “middle,” i.e. fleeing California for Texas, buying Twitter to democratize it, are mainly (because I can’t see into his heart) business decisions to attract conservative support ahead of red election waves. Rich liberals have already bought his cars, now he needs rich conservatives to also do so.
And he needs the immanent Republican Congress and a future Republican president to keep the subsidies and good will flowing for Space X.
Sorry “imminent” Republican Congress, not “immanent.” Although some would argue that if enough MAGA Republicans get elected, it will soon be immanent, if not eminent.
Taken at his word, which I am prepared to do, the task he has set for himself and Twitter after he acquires control is both laudable and hugely daunting, a tech virtual town square where no one may be shouted down or hounded out of town. Balancing rules of good behavior against freedom to express both unpopular views as well as oppostion to those views has been the American struggle for two and a half centuries, hasn’t it? Of course, there are many good examples of how it is done. Well moderated yet freewheeling web sites and blogs such as the Treehouse are some. So are most Thanksgiving dinners.
I would presume to give Mr. Musk only one bit of advice, well, a reminder really. That is to remember how you eat an elephant: one bite at a time. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be REALLY BIG bites. I expect return flights to India are already beginning to fill up.
I can’t wait for Elon to reinstate Trump and the rest of us conservatives that were kicked off Twitter with him! “My fellow Americans……….” It will be biblical!
Elon does not support Trump..at all.
My company does marketing on both movie platforms and social media.
Targeting your customer base while avoiding non customer base is a “win-win” for producers and consumers.
Musk: “Low relevancy ads are spam, while high relevancy ads are content!”
Whoever does this best will attract billions in revenue because Facebook, which was the best at this, has slipped significantly in the last two years and the other platforms haven’t gotten close.
A more balanced platform; so using a legitimate market force, to initiate that process.
This is great news!
No one under 50 goes to facebook anymore
–
Sundance wrote everything and much more that I was thinking while reading Musk’s comments.
Let the platforms and choices de-centralize like cable TV. When has centralization of anything worked out well?
A centralized digital town square is a sitting duck for a pre-emptive strike by the tyrants.
How’s that government/university conglomerate healthcare centralization working out for everyone?
One call from the state board or the health plan to threaten your doc and the doc is lying to you about how safe that gene therapy will be for your kid.
Radio host Michael Savage said, “Liberalism is a mental disorder”. Sums it up perfectly.
Say what you will, but I think Elon gets it.
Summit News has a post on Twitter Employees fleeing to Google + Meta.
This highlights a core problem that needs as much attention – and all need far, far more – as Average People going to School Board Meetings:
Twitter will have some trouble for a time finding replacements with the same level knowledge + especially experience —- because since even before the end of the Cold War, Non-Progressives stopped fighting that war in our core institutions.
Is Big Tech overwhelmingly Progressive because Non-Progressives aren’t interested in Tech or not as good at it…?
No, they’ve been systematically weeded out for decades. It’s like being the token black person in company where the board of directors are all members of the KK-K…
Do you want to major in a field in which you will be despised + hated + shunned for the rest of your working-life?
It had been going on for a few decades before the official end of the Cold War around 1992 when the Agenda 21 power conference in Rio handed out the next version of communism… 2.0.
We need people + organization + especially funding to expand the efforts across the country to put pressure on School Boards to let the community know what is going on in the classroom + if it represents the community or corporate interests supported by a sliver of the population…
We need the same pressure on local universities + news orgs + more. Places like LA + NYC need organized, funded groups trying to bring pressure on Entertainment Producers by mobilizing the power of the Consumers.
For example, in the 1980s, there was a ground-breaking TV show called Soap. It had one of the first openly gay characters (played by Billy Crystal) + had a arch where a slut daughter who had affairs with all the prominent men of the town gave birth to the Anti-Christ or a demon, I forget which. (This was when the success of the movie The Exorcist was still influencing industry trends.)
Small organizations began a Boycott campaign of Advertisers – particularly targeting Procter + Gamble.
I was young at the time + had little clue. I liked the show. It was an outrageous comedy. But I was also easily snowed by the collusion between Big Business + the MSM —- and dismissed the Boycott Campaign because I was told it was far more dangerous than the show —- because those White Christian Fanatics are —- extremely dangerous.
Sound familiar?
This was a time in which the label “Satanic Panic” was as strong as “Conspiracy Theory” for shutting down the minds of the masses.
But, it wasn’t effective enough to prevent the show from being cancelled.
— I just wish the Internet had been available back then + I could have read about the history of Big Pharma + corporations like Procter + Gamble…
Right now – we are seeing the push by Fascism (the Corporate World + Government merged into one) to take us back to a time when there were no Info Wars or Conservative Treehouses or what PayPal calls Fake News cites that users need to be penalized for sharing.
https://summit.news/2022/10/27/report-woke-twitter-employees-are-running-to-google-and-meta-as-musk-takeover-nears-completion/
https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/procter-gamble-satan-conspiracy-theory
Billy was pushing the envelope back then but ironically wouldn’t be able to play that character today as he is straight 😉
True.
As I was writing the comment, it occurred to me — look what is going on today with Men can Get Pregnant + Children must be Sexualized + Pedophiles are just Real People too…
I liked Soap + still watch it — but I can now see + understand + internalize how the same Mega $$$ that pushed the New Age Movement (+ pushed “Socialism” + Eugenics decades earlier) — put Soap out there —– so we would arrive at 2020 + the kickoff of The Great Reset.
Yes, “they” have been nudging us for a very long time…
All good except Summit News assertion that Twatter employees are running to Meta /Facebook seems to ignore the fact they are laying off workers.
Good point but a Brain Drain is not reflected in the overall numbers.
You can shrink a workforce while taking in Talent freshly available (and even use “downsizing” as a reason for getting rid of some higher-salaried individuals who are not as good as any Former Twitter Stars you sneak in the back door…
Good essay.
Using a football analogy, the change with Musk’s takeover is more like getting a first down on fourth and one than scoring a game winning touchdown.
Incremental advancement, but the game is yet to be decided. However, keeping the ball means there is opportunity for more advancement. As well as the risk of turnovers.
And at least on paper as Musk writes and in theory, this could be a game changer.
It’s getting a turnover when the refs are crooked and your opponents sit on a lead and are running out the clock.
It’s dire.
I don’t look at Twitter, nor have I ever had a Twitter account, and I don’t see that as ever changing.
I read the Tweets that someone references here or other conservative news sites
Twitter is a storefront. They were the only store in town so they were able to get away with their own set of rules.
Truth social is a new storefront that moved into town right next door to Twitter.
After Twitter was completely exposed, they were losing customers to the competition next door.
Like any company involved in scandal they needed to shakeup leadership to give the “appearance” of a change in the company.
Elon’s magic coffee shop will be exactly the same as Jack’s magic coffee shop. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Question,
The intelligence community uses shell companies all over the world to carry out their operations to maintain secrecy, obviously.
And, knowing what we know about what Sundance has highlighted; Jack’s Coffee Shop, Bots etc. exposing I.C. cooperation…
How is it that Musk could buy Twitter without I.C. approval? Is he simply the new owner of the “shell company”?
Sorry, I still don’t trust him or any of this.
No one talks about the massive leverage the Ktulu has over Musk…
All his biz is government contracts, subsidized, or some how dependent on Ktulu.
His fortune is dependent on Ktulu.
He’s going to make free speech great for all though!!!
Maybe
What is that word, Ktulu?
It can also be spelled as Cthuluu, Cthulu, or sometimes Leviathan . It’s the demon.
Early on it was mentioned that Musk needed a platform like Twitter to integrate into his Starlink system in order to take it to the next level.
I don’t know the tech industry, it’s not my field but there’s a lot out there that has taken place that when we first hear of it, it’s spoken as a conspiracy theory. I’ve learned that today’s conspiracy theory is tomorrows reality.
I don’t know what the implications would be if Starlink and Twitter became integrated and how the tech would be used, both beneficially and nefariously.
IF. IF he went whole hog he could, with his Starlink/Twitter combo, unwind the entire woke empire in minutes including MSM. The potential here is mind boggling – the IC may let it happen and then try to swoop in – in any event it is a sideshow to the bankers and govt nexus that will have us eating bugs soon enough.
Does Starlink + Twitter = Skynet?
Short Version — Musk + any like minded Big Tech Wealthy People – like has been rumored about Jack Dorsey at the start — need to do recruiting + expertise seeding like Major League Baseball does (which is like the $$$ running this regime change operation against Western Civilization have for many decades).
Reach out to the young kids + get them interested in tech careers + know — you don’t have to be a Leftist Nut to make it a worthwhile, successful future career… Fund + organize a variety of ways to encourage people with a non-Leftist mindset to be interested in the field + know they will be allowed to succeed based on their merits.
I follow a few people on Twitter who provide long threads to explain and educate on various topics.
I am hoping that this ”X” application that Musk intends on building is an alternative to Fakebook.
I hate Fakebook and need a replacement application to keep up with old girlfriends.
If you trust a quirky Billionaire who takes money from our Govt. To prop up a failing co. Then you just might not be a Redneck
good one. hahahaha
It is written:
“If you continue in my word you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
Not much else matters.
We’ll see what happens in the future if he follows freedom. Elon Musk is owned by the Chinese makes all his money from government contracts and believes in having chips planted in human brains for starters. I don’t really trust him myself but we will see.
As an advertiser on social media platforms the threats from the mob are not the problem – the made up rules by the woke managers to change our ad content is the problem. Conform to the woke rules or you can’t advertise at all. The rules are inane and really mind boggling in their pettiness. If some company looks woke in its advertising, it may not be its choice. If Musk can change that he will own social media in a heartbeat. Which is how fast we would leave Meta.
That was a “thoughty” post by the rag tag bunch. I’ll need to think this one through. So many low information citizens that are influenced by the MSM. So much easier to watch the alphabets & listen to NPR than doing your own research. There’s a spiritual battle for the hearts & would of America & the world for that matter. Just watched the Emerald Robinson interview with Lara Logan. The many ways we’re abusing children should be the line in the sand for all of us. Also read Michelle Malkin’s latest article as she no longer writes a weekly column. The MSM including Fox has mistreated her & family in a vicious and demonic way. The LGBTQ issue was spawned in the pits of hell. We must battle for truth in the media, saving our constitution, continue to fight against immorality, & protect our children. Was it Russia’s Mendeved that referred to the West as the great apostasy? It’s certainly questionable.
Looking forward to the next chapter. She has always been one to be trusted.
I’m not going back to twitter, even if Musk cleans house.
It’s a global platform, lots of “reach”, lots of users, most of the good guys were kicked off.
I just don’t see the point of twitter any more. There are other options.
Re: Musk and his “love for humanity”, no one is that altruistic. He’s free to do whatever he wants to do with whatever resources he has. I would just ask that he and his human/robotic dreams steer clear of the rest of us. If he wants to send robots to Mars, I could care less. If he wants to legitimize “transhumanism”, I want nothing to do with him. Twitter could/would/possibly provide him that mouthpiece for his WEF inspired dreams, in my opinion. I would keep Musk at a distance.
What exactly is a “common digital town square”? I’ve not read anywhere what that is or if Musk intends to move Twitter to open source and open standards. To understand this consider…….
Would you use free phone service from Verizon if you had to agree to
place and receive calls only with other Verizon customerslet Verizon record all of your phone conversations, retain all of your voicemail and contactslet Verizon record other conversations and location even when you are not using your phone?allow Verizon to digitize, analyse, scan/seach and sell anything that you or the persons you talk with, saylet Verizon deny you access to anyone/everyoneallow Verison to exclusively retain all of those conversations, contacts and voicemail when you leave Verizonlet Verizon tcensor your callsallow Verizon to restrict what you can say to who and in what contextlet Verizon disconnect your phone service and keep your number, solely at its discretionchange any or all of these terms and conditions without you ever agreeing to accept those changesYet that is the model of Twitter and pretty much every other social media application.
There really is a litmus test for Musk’s stated intention to transform Twitter into “common digital town square”. It’s a model used for decades internationally in the software industry (most industries ) to avoid/bust-up monopolies and proprietary lock-in. It is Open Source and Open Standards.
It is important to keep in mind that social media apps are not priced and sold to users based on features and price. Social media companies have to make money advertising, surveilling, and selling user data and other private information.
I have mentioned here many times that if an open or “common digital town square” is indeed Musk’s sincere objective he will have to, as rapidly as possible, reverse the monopolistic damage Twitter and world governments have done to the industry. At least….
1) Opensource common software components need to accelerate open market competition and integration by/with other messaging applications.
2) Initiate open standards for messaging data interchange) (e.g enable Twitter users to seamlessly subscribe to a Telegram, TS or any other messaging app user)
3) Ensure that customers can get the Twitter application without being forced through Google, Apple or Microsoft app stores.
4) Develop open industry user data security privacy and data protection. Ensure users can see exactly who/how Twitter shares their data with, support import export their data to any server or other vendor, user can opt out of all data collection and surveillance, etc
5) Remove requirements for proof-of-identity to use the apps.
All of the above must be open license and royalty free. (e.g. OASIS, Eclipse)
Twitter could leverage its global monopoly position to ensure an open and level playing field for social media. Anything short of this is simply building a more benevolent monopoly.
IF IT IS “FREE” – IT’S NOT
If it’s free…You’re the product.
CONSERVATIVE: I may not like what you say, but I will defend your right to say it.
LEFTIST: I do not like what you say, and I’ll destroy you for saying it.
Sorry, but I don’t see any room for healthy debate given these circumstances.
‘Ol Elon is a billionaire…and did not get that way by wasting money or spending frivolously…my favorite mantra as all y’all know:
“Business is in business to make money”.
Time will tell, am guessing. I don’t tweet or pay attention to twitter, so I am only peripherally aware of his rationale.
“As a result, when challenged their initial response is an emotional attack -often filled with vitriol and hate- because they have defined themselves by their belief system.”
Leftists’ second response, in my experience, is silence. My young liberal relatives now refuse to discuss political issues with me, not because I am brilliant, but because their inadequate college educations provided them with only a limited perspective on life’s complications. They couldn’t handle even my simple arguments so they shut up. We see this also on the political front, with Dem candidates refusing to debate Republicans. They have no answers so they refuse to debate.
Musk & Twitter?
Give it a chance.
His next problem is going to be layoff’s and the endless court battles he will face trying to prove he is not firing people because of their political beliefs
this is going to be very costly and time consuming for him
He could turn Twitter into a ice cream manufacture and say that all these employees dont have the skills for this new venture.
Have you ever noticed that he always appears alone? When comments are made about decisions are going to be costly and time consuming for him, this doesn’t seem to be a problem.
I believe that Elon Musk has a very loyal support base of friends and competent advisors and lawyers that work behind the scenes.
Our real President never really had the support that he should have while in office. He had four years of opposition and carried that burden basically alone. His advisors on the economy were good.
The Goberment blob tried to frame Trump, his family, friends and associates, all based on lies and had no shame doing it.
Yes Musk does, starting with David Sacks. Musk has never run or managed a Goberment office. Trump was too trusting, thinking as the new CEO everyone would be loyal to him, it was a big mistake.
“A person who willingly took the COVID-19 vaccination was in a no-retreat position. Presenting information that runs counter to their baseline assumptions was futile, they had no way to exit or reverse the decision. The ideological debate on social media is fraught with the same dynamic. When people define themselves, define their purpose, through an ideological belief system, it is almost impossible to establish communication.”
Substitute “had an abortion” for “took the COVID-19 vaccination” here and the results are exactly the same!
The moral consequences of admitting to themselves what that abortion really did are too great for them to ever accept, so they must therefore spend the rest of their lives claiming “a lump of cells,” and arguing the procedure is a basic human right, despite the advancement of medical technology and science which tell us that choice directly affects another human being.
Good post Sundance.
Never used twitty bird and never will. But, it will be interesting to watch what happens now!
What is Twitter? Asking for all my friends! Nonsense I’m guessing.
I wish some one would buy Bookface
I do not use bookface but somehow my former instagram acct was connected to Bookface
So about a year ago, I got a stern letter from BF for posting something they did not approve of, they thought was offensive. They NEVER told me what that content was. My account was suspended.
Well, I did not care, never use BF but then I saw my beloved instagram account was summarily deleted!!
These cancel beasts are horrible people with dark souls
That was the only account I had and it was all sewing and quilting shenanigans
whatever happened with the issue of bots and fake accounts? Was there a resolution because I don’t recall any information being released on the subject matter. Something doesn’t pass the smell test. 🤷♀️
Yeah, I’ve been skeptical all along, considering how many deals Musk is in bed with the government, including Branch 4, on. It seems too convenient.
However, I’ve never been a Twitter user, or a social media user, so am not way into the weeds on that stuff like some are, so will defer to those more knowledgeable about social media machinations.
spoiler: delaware chancery (sp?), performed as instructed by tech corporations EVERYWHERE! (not just twitter).
bots and spam and fake accounts are unlikely to ever be “discovered” in a legal courtroom where the conditions and limits are set in place to make it impossible to force a company to open up its books and read out loud what actually happens..by design.
Elon was never going to win the court case. What HE DID WIN however is an awareness that is growing among shareholders that the castle is built on a wall of sand that is fraud.
Imagine what happens when that levy breaks…what happens when MORE INSIDERS who have intimate first hand knowledge of spam, bots and fake accounts begin to leak?
that is coming.
all lies fail. Eventually. Elon will not be the first or the last to seriously question how the sausage is made.
Which is ironic, because his own companies do not rely on ad and marketing revenue…at all!
think about that for a moment.
God Bless America
I think Musk realized it is a useless/endless debate until he has access to the machinery behind twiddle and can verify real accounts versus fake ones. My guess is that Musk will bring some very savvy techs on board who will uncover the hidden algorithms and bot accounts and not try to protect any of the built-in fraud. How much control he actually has compared to government deep state hacker control, remains to be seen.
Which is why he’s going to reduce the actual workforce down to a manageable size.
His biggest issue is going to be eliminating all the backdoors that are very likely already exist and there’s always the possibility of some sabotage as well. I can see some of the employees doing just that in order to “stick it to the man” before they’re sent on their merry way.
Oh yes. Sabotage attempts are highly likely. I’m sure Elon is aware of that.
It would be ideal to take these saboteurs and instead of firing them, give them the task of “finding and removing the sabotage” in a very defined and short period of time. The consequence of their failure to succeed is firing for lack of ability and incompetence. They can pick their poison.
I don’t trust Musk
The intel community is Twitter’s biggest paying customer
