Whenever we begin to evaluate how the U.S. government may respond to Elon Musk buying out Twitter and changing the dynamic behind Jack’s Magic Coffee Shop, it is always worth remembering a key point. Elon Musk is not in an adversarial relationship with the U.S. government. Indeed, almost every Musk venture is tied into the matrix of multiple government institutions.
That said, only Elon Musk knows the full intent of his objective to utilize Twitter and his larger aspirations to open information systems to all people (Iran example).
Having listened to a lot of Musk’s explanations for his endeavors, I’ve yet to nail down how his statements mesh with the public-private partnership that forms the baseline of revenue for his various engagements.
The Washington Post is reporting that Musk may RIF (reduction in force) to 75% of Twitter employees. “Elon Musk told prospective investors in his deal to buy the company that he planned to get rid of nearly 75 percent of Twitter’s 7,500 workers, whittling the company down to a skeleton staff of just over 2,000.” {link}
(WaPo) […] On Thursday evening, Twitter’s top lawyer Sean Edgett sent out a note to all employees saying the company did not have any confirmation from Musk about his plans. Twitter’s own, smaller-scale “cost savings discussions” were put on hold once the merger agreement was signed, Edgett said, according to an email viewed by The Post.
In internal Slack groups, Twitter employees reacted to the news with anger and resignation, supporting each other and making jokes about the turmoil of the past few months, according to people familiar with the conversations.
Twitter and Musk are expected to close the purchase by Oct. 28. Planning for the closing is moving forward in apparent good faith after months of legal battles, say people familiar with the negotiations who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. If the deal closes, Musk would immediately become Twitter’s new owner. (read more)
Meanwhile Bloomberg was reporting yesterday the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS), a Treasury Dept agency, was considering a national security review of the purchase due to foreign nationals investing and participating in the funding mechanisms for the buyout. However, Bloomberg updated that angle today noting any CFIUS review would be unlikely:
(Bloomberg) Alarm over Elon Musk’s recent Russia-friendly tweets is driving Biden administration officials to explore using a secretive review panel to assess the national-security risks of his business interests.
Yet experts say that deploying the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US to investigate Musk’s dealings — including his pending $44 billion purchase of Twitter — is unlikely to work and would face legal challenges.
There may be an argument for some sort of CFIUS review, but it’s thin, according to Emily Kilcrease, a senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security. The panel would only get involved if foreign investors were taking a controlling stake in the new company, she said, something Musk doesn’t appear ready to allow.
CFIUS has the right to look at foreign investors, not Musk, Kilcrease said. “So if there’s concerns around Musk, CFIUS is a really messy, imperfect tool to try to deal with that — and I suspect would be subject to legal challenge,” she said. (read more)
Two things about Twitter and the U.S. government are true, and that makes predicting where this ends up quite challenging to game out.
♦First, the U.S. intelligence apparatus is actively involved in the background operations of Twitter. The extent of the IC involvement may be debatable, but the IC being involved in Twitter is fundamentally true.
♦Second, if the U.S. government wanted to stop Elon Musk from purchasing Twitter, they could – very easily. As noted, Musks network of business operations is heavily dependent on a partnership with the U.S. government (SpaceX, Starlink, Tesla, etc.) The State Dept, Pentagon, NASA, FAA, and various intelligence agencies are all parts of a deep network of relationships with Musk’s organizations.
The fact that the U.S. government does not intervene in any Musk effort, including Twitter, is not evidence of Musk being outside the system. Factually, it would be challenging to find another company with tentacles as wide, far reaching and connected to the U.S. government.
Musk is purchasing Twitter because the U.S. government wants to allow Musk to purchase Twitter. Musk may be ‘dirty dancing‘ with the government while trying to retain the patina of an outsider, but the network of his company attachments to the U.S. government run counter to that outlook.
Again, I don’t know what Musk’s intent is, and hopefully the Twitter outcome is something much more open and transparent than currently exists. However, that said, we should not assign too much weight to any media outline of the dynamic until we have actual reference points to any possible change.
Biden Administration To Block Musk Twitter Deal on “National Security Grounds”
The Biden administration has vowed to block the Musk Twitter deal on “national security grounds” amid complaints by the mainstream media that non-mainstream views will be allowed to proliferate on the platform following the deal.
https://newspunch.com/biden-administration-to-block-musk-twitter-deal-on-national-security-grounds/
So….Truth is what They….are fearful of…verdad!!
TRUTH is EXACTLY what they fear most , Twitter does not report any truth it’s a government propaganda outlet where they censor ALL TRUTH and push and promote 100% lies .
So if Twitter is not private, how can Musk buy it, and if it’s not governmental how can Biden stop it? How can it’s shareholders force Musk to buy it? Why take him to court? Geez!
For looks?
Public perception??
We shall see.
The patriot act opens an entire black hole of government powers that in their own right, are outlandishly illegal and unconstitutionally problematic.
The Patriot Acs is effectively a “skeleton key” for the absolute power of the federal government on every and any issue they choose to invoke “National Security” with.
This allows them into every American’s home, despite the 4th amendment protection against baseless search and seizures within the homes of citizens.
This allows them to restrict, or eliminate the first amendment guarantee of freedoms of speech, assembly, and religion.
This allows them to “red flag law” any and every American who is illegally spied on “see 4th amendment” by their doctors, nurse, relative, or neighbor for as little as being prescribed “anti anxiety” medications short term or long term, including postpartum depression in women.
This also allows blanket ignoring of the 10th amendment.
This isn’t comprehensive. It simply outlines the most common ways the Federal Government and Lawfare intrude into your home, career, medical, and other aspects of ordinary citizens lives.
Never forget who set this up. One of the greatest betrayals of American History. I’d call it more notorious and wantonly traitorous than Benedict Arnold. One Former President George W Bush. The “compassionate conservative.”
Now look at what the Obama people have done with what George W Bush provided them. A great many atrocities that have been committed, could not have been had not “W” betrayed the nation.
We The People need an Article V Convention of States. We need to repeal the Patriot Act, forbid indiscriminate money-printing, and repeal the Federal Income Tax. Unless we defang and defund the Feds, this country will be bankrupt and all of our freedoms will be destroyed.
Have to be extremely careful and extremely confident in the desired outcome of an Article 5 Convention. While the intent would be to remove, add or clarify specific items, I believe an A5 Con opens the whole doc for review and change, not just a few targeted points. That could go sideways pretty quick.
it takes THIRTY-EIGHT states to ratify any changes to the US Constitution so CAREFUL is a built-in feature
Incorrect. Most states are bought off and indebted to the feds.
Any Catholic out there knows all to well what you mean. Think Vatican II and you know where the phrase “Off the rails” comes from.
16th and 17th Amendments were NEVER legally ratified…research them
I seem to recall the prior Senate leader declaring “We killed the Patriot Act!” Back then to oppose TPA was to oppose Bush.
If only.
A “Convention of States” is too little too late at this point.
There is no political solution to tyranny.
It’s all Kabuki theatre… another distraction for the voters before November 8th
If they hate Truth so much, and if Musk is Truth, again I ask, why is he already so DEEPLY into “joint ventures” with the Govt?
And we KNOW they hate TRUTH more than anything ELSE on the Planet!
May, instead, this time of Taking them where they WANT to go, he is pushing them further than where they wanted to go????
Some of the ventures in which Musk is involved certainly entangle him with the federal government, but the truth is that anyone involved in such ventures–which are private–would ultimately be unable to avoid these entanglements. To what extent Musk is governed by these relationships, I suppose only he and the government know. Sadly, the U.S. finds itself in an era of crony capitalism. Some corporations embrace it enthusiastically; some may try to limit it. But government has become so intrusive (at all levels, frankly) that it is now pretty much impossible to avoid it for most businesses.
It’s not the Truth they are afraid of coming out because it will be revealed how many 4th branch agencies operate twatter
And/OR of someone who MIGHT turn out to be smarter than they are!
Si? N’est ce pas?
Population replacement is bad enough but don’t help it along with that foreign language infiltration
In my news feed had this… “JOINN Laboratories, a subsidiary of a Chinese firm, has purchased land worth $5.5 million in Florida to build a lab monkey breeding facility. The firm will control more than 1,400 acres of land, and it marks one of the largest Chinese acquisitions of U.S. land. The founders of JOINN Laboratories graduated from China’s Academy of Military Medical Sciences, which is the same school that was added to a U.S. trade blacklist last year for supplying biotechnology to the Chinese military.”
Where was CFIUS?
Pretty sure DeSantis handled that for them.
CFIUS is just as corrupt as every other government agency , you didn’t think parts of the U.S government has yet to be infiltrated I hope.
CFIUS is just as much pro China as Biden is .
Where was that purchase of American land a few months ago, near a military base??? one of the Dakotas or some place? HUMONGOUS amount of ranch land or farmland.
They bought up TONS of land in TEXAS at least a couple DECADES ago. How much of our SOVEREIGN LAND does China now lay claim to??? Much of it FORCED as they were trying to do with the Bundy’s and others – through EPA, back when they murdered LaVoy Finicum, I remember the two still-sitting Senators who spoke up for that and roundly condemned the Ranchers for not surrendering their Heritage Lands peacefully to be handed over to China for the Mineral rights by our Govt.
PRC wanted the Bundy grazing land in NV to build a huge solar facility….it was actually “federally held land” (I dispute the constitutionality of this) that they had leased for grazing for 3 generations which is typical in the west and it was Sen. Reid behind the attempted hand over
Where? At the cash laundromat in the basement of the US Capitol building.
That was the CFIUS conversation.
Yeah , I missed that earlier .
Twitter is already non mainstream!!!!
National continuation of propaganda and spy platform.
If they “proliferate” doesn’t that mean they are the REAL mainstream views?
Well, I hope Sundance updates this.
I agree Sundance its a game of wait and see what happens.
I’d love to see Musk acquire and make it a world town hall that promotes free speech, no censorship, no bots. That’s a Big ask! Dreams do come true.
I want Musk to fall on his tranhuminist face. He’s a rotten person and he wants to dominate the planet .
I think democrats have already done that!!!!
Well Said.
When the J6 committee finishes with Trump, if they ever do, they should probably form back up and investigate Musk for trying to rule the world.
Hey my friend – you might find this interesting. It is 3 hours long, done in segments so you can watch one at a time. The guy who did the video owns an electric car so he is not anti-green. But it is full of information about how Elon Musk has punked everyone Take a listen if you can sometime:
If that **is** what happens, and that’s a big “IF”, then we can safely assume the Deep State will merely add the new and reinstated users to its covert, 4th Amendment-violating “profile collection” operations to further define its list of “MAGA enemies.”
IMHO that’s what Twitter, Fakebook, etc. were all originally designed to do. That they decided to suddenly start cancelling opposing political viewpoints seems to indicate the Deep State thought they were closer to taking complete totalitarian control of this nation than they actually turned out to be. IMHO President Trump is responsible for the interruption.
I think there is lots of evidence that THEY either miscalciulated, believing they had more control than they actually HAD, ..
Or, as you say G.B. SOMETHING caused them to ‘jump the gun’ and go ‘all in’ before they were ready.
And, they have been stumbling, mumbling and fumbling, ever since.
Who knows where this Musk deal will lead? I’m just happy the little leftist nazis who have been riding high as Twitter employees will be getting wacked. I’d volunteer and pay my own expenses to be the one who hands out the severance packages to these pink haired eunuchs.
Don’t bet it all on that one throw.
Yes to all your premises. 45 was the monkey wrench to their twit plan of one big worldwide profile database. This went up in smoke when he short circuited their plan, which I now can be seen without issue: one world gubmint via the climate change crap to reset everything. Bond markets went into free fall, sovereign debt can’t be undergirded, endless. Twit is the one big global reach to control. Elon fits into the picture nicely, adding to his exiting reach: satellite communication system, EV cars, space. He’s as much of a bona fide philanthropist as Gates or Soros, in my opinion. Their basis character does not reside goodness. Elon gives the impression of being conflicted: one foot in darkness, the other in light, but that light is surface/superficial. The dark side is deep. Just my gut thoughts.
Ad Rem – typo in my name & used incorrect email address so waiting approval. Oops. More coffee needed.
musk will do what oBaMa allows him to do.
Hahahahahahahahahah.
We are not living such a Utopian lifestyle on this Entire Planet as yet that would make THAT a SAFE proposition for like 95% of all Human Beings, and all other “assets”, as well.
Imagine for a moment.
What would Elon Musk do if he were to happen upon the One Ring?
Destroy it? Keep it? Wield it? Such a thing is not without a cost.
He would have the One Ring copied, sell the copy to another (telling them it was real), keep the real one and wield it in secret.
I think he already owns it BTW.
He has failed the test.
Brilliant!
The One Ring could escape its bearer.
Who wears the other rings?
How about a quasi-government institution that is effectively Republican?
Leftism has failed in every way, shape and form.
Need we be so negative as to assume that government is always the enemy of conservatism?
Perhaps the fascists of the FBI and the DOJ will become an island of negativism.
At present, the monolith of government is surely our enemy, but perhaps we can chip away at this evil rock?
The government already is effectively Republican… It’s the party cheerleaders that simply keep denying what’s right in front of them.
The country may be Republican but the government sure isn’t!
Its NOT a matter of it “being Republican”; what does that even MEAN in a Uniparty World?
It needs to be MAGA A1 Republican, THATS the only thing that will make a difference; just as PDJT is the ONLY one to be POTUS.
Just as everybody will want to live in MAGA States, NOT Uniparty States.
“Something in the air tonite, oh Lord!
Can you FEEL it in theair tonite, OH LORD?”
I know I Do!
I’d argue that both are mutually progressive. One creates non stop progressive law, the other begs for more progressive law…
The only dispute is generally over how and who the progressive policies should be pointed at.
For clarification, I do not accept the attempted new age political redefining of words like progressive or conservative. Lofty moralistic arguments do not replace principles.
you must enjoy what what you see cause thats what you have got.
Government is never your friend. It is like fire: a necessary servant that will destroy you if possible.
“…almost every Musk venture is tied into the matrix of multiple government institutions.”
Thank you. Musk is a very bright grifter.
This description fits the cabal.
You could say that about just every business enterprise in the country – as well as individuals.
After everything we are seeing out of the US gov’t, I sure wouldn’t trust them. If they are involved in all this, then it has a swamp smell to it and it is not to our benefit. I’d guess it’s more for surveillance of us. I want to say “it’s a trap” – sort of like the old aliens movie where the book says “to serve man” and it turns out it’s a cookbook.
Good to see more people pointing to the fact that Musk has built his massive fortune on TAXPAYER SUBSIDIES.
As the country dives deeper into insanity, the guy most real conservatives considered a billionaire welfare queen polished up government contractor, is now allegedly by the left and the reincarnation of Ayn Rand to the right.
You cannot reform a corrupt system by participating in it. True about whatever “democracy” means these days. True about Elon Musk and the brown shirts at Twitter.
“…Twitter employees reacted to the news with anger and resignation, supporting each other and making jokes about the turmoil of the past few months…”
These clown pajama kids have no idea what turmoil is compared to what small businesses have been subjected to because of Covid lockdowns and Bidenflation.
i trust musk as much as i trust mcCONnell, Romney, rubio, Collins, Fauci, Birx, the CDC, FDA, DHS and IRS. don’t forget the rest.
i hope he proves me wrong.
that much money and influence in the hands of someone who tries to do good instead of PREYING on his fellow humans can possibly do some good instead of evil.
Project Veritas caught a Twitter employee on hidden camera admitting that they only work 8 hours a week.
How is that cost effective? Tear the entire platform down for all I care. What a bunch of crybabies. 🥹
…it is cost effective if t w I t pays for 4 hours
and ?
unaccountable
g u b mt ( taxpayers ) pays for 36 ?
I do not know
PV provided an inside tip from a t w I t insider. That transparency helps. Yet the internal cash flow / coffee shop remains secretive as does the number of b o t s
( fake user names pushing c c p agendas, mass psychosis formations… resulting in wide misinformation
and for instance, taxpayer funded b a d j a b $ for kids…? etc.)
Imho
I do not know
[ some one does – there is proof in the pudding. Watch out for the tentacles of wooden – nickels …]
Musk knows this. He said months ago that he only would keep people who have true technical skills which was a clear warning shot directed at the cat ladies and Karen’s who infest the company.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the IC is behind Musk’s purchase because the costs of the government subsidies has exploded under the bloat of the welfare funding stream.
Never forget hubris, (over)confidence, and the arrogance of moneyed people at the top!
It is quite possible that Mr. Musk thinks his billions (albeit government-dependent) give him leverage and that he can be the one to tell the bureaucrats in any agency what to do.
Money talks, BIG Money talks even more loudly! Possibly he thinks his money impresses the bureaucrats, even those in the “Fourth Branch,” or could buy them off.
It is impossible to know the man’s mind, of course: one must deduce what he thinks from what he does, as this is true for anyone in the public eye.
Contradictory actions make things difficult, but who among us is always consistent? Human beings contradict themselves and behave irrationally constantly.
Always possible is that his public statements are insincere, or downright lies. The status quo would remain unchanged.
What is certain: the FedGov hates change and will resist change of any kind, unless the change fits their agenda!
If Mr. Musk is not part of the agenda, he will be stopped or worse. And if he suffers from hubris, a 21st-century Sophocles will be telling his story.
i don’t think the feds would sell musk their ‘platform’ for control, no matter the guise it would be framed in
“national SUCKurity” don’cha know 😉
You’re assuming they’re not behind it.
Get rid of 75% of existing “censors” and then monetize the “new” 75% censors by Bid. No harm, no foul. It’s Business.
Project Veratas had a undercover video of twatter employees several yrs ago and most of them are HB visa holder and they should be removed from this country as soon as they are fired.
Musk is a government funded leech, pocketing cash from government subsidies. I wonder how taxpayers would feel if they knew they were subsidizing a billionaire, while struggling to pay their monthly bills.
Plus I don’t like his beady eyes.
That sounds like a ban hammer I can appreciate!
Besides the one wielded so unusually judiciously and fairly here of course.
So he’s firing all the land whales with 57 genders in favor of keeping just the spies?
I know one thing is for sure, the Lunatics aren’t freaking out for nothing. Seeing Musk jerk that, ‘What are you going to do about it’ smugness out from under their feet, when they never saw it coming, happens to be immensely personnal for me to see and bear witness to.
Maybe the IC gang has figured that Twitter propaganda isn’t as effective and worth as much as Twitter uncensored so they can more easily identify, and gin up evidence against, ‘dissidents’.
I dunno. Just spitballing.
.
The issue for the government/Deep State is that Elon Musk has purchased himself some hard bargaining leverage in connection with his various deal-makings with the government of multifarious kinds. They are backing into a corner in a sense, but it is wise to not presume that the people are third party beneficiaries.
.
Musk is not free to deliver free speech………………..he is beholden to US,Chinese………………………………
The sweet taste of far left Twitter employee tears.
Free twitter for Ukrainians!
MUSK: One step forward, one step back, and on and on it goes. He’ll acquire it but all Kabuki.
I’m confused.
Which is it?
Is the Deep State worried of a Musk takeover of Twitter?
Or is Musk worried about the Deep State operation of Twitter?
So much to analyze and think about causes my brain to hurt.
Please explain before I suffer an aneurysm.
>>Musk may be ‘dirty dancing‘ with the government while trying to retain the patina of an outsider…
Someone get on Stable Diffusion or Midjourney.
Prompt “Elon Musk dancing the Lambada with Uncle Sam”
Last week Elon Musk said he was going to cut off Ukraine from using his communication satellites because it was costing him over $60 million a year. The DoD said they would not pay it, then Musk said it would continue. Today I read that Musk got over $100 million in new government contracts. Just connecting a few dots.
Technocracy
Twitty bird is not worth 46 billion. I’ve read where it may be worth 10/15 billion.
Could be yes, the government wants Musk to buy Twitty as a bailout to save it and all we see about the government investigating deceit, why investigate when they already know who what and how much. Can we even imagine the amount paper work that has to be submitted to government agencies on a deal like this!
In my opinion, Musk has been working for government along time. Just like all the NEWS outlets work for government.
“Having listened to a lot of Musk’s explanations for his endeavors, I’ve yet to nail down how his statements mesh with the public-private partnership that forms the baseline of revenue for his various engagements.”
One can use money made from the state against the state. In fact, it can be most delicious.
Been wondering about that.
What if the ‘state’ loses its leverage?
I.e. There are only two ways to get American astronauts to and from the space station.
The Russians or SpaceX. 🤔
That’s what China did.
Believing that the government supplies the servers and bandwidth, which Sundance has suggested, this is not a real transaction but a pretend one. The government is just not going to allow Twitter to become what people hope for.
Twitter has hired a lot of ex spooks
The Federal Bureau of Tweets: Twitter Is Hiring an Alarming Number of FBI Agents
https://www.mintpressnews.com/twitter-hiring-alarming-number-spooks-secret-agents/281114/
How One Spook-Run London College Department Is Training the World’s Social Media Managers
Staffed by NATO military officers and former government ministers and notorious for training the West’s top spies, the Department of War Studies at King’s College London is also providing the workforce for many of the largest social media companies. This includes Facebook, TikTok, Google, and Twitter.A MintPress study of professional databases and employment websites reveals a wide network of War Studies alumni holding many of the most influential jobs in media, constituting a silent army of individuals who influence what the world sees (and does not see) in its social media feeds.
Spy SchoolSet in an imposing building near the banks of the River Thames in Central London, the Department of War Studies is at the heart of the British establishment. Current staff includes the former Secretary General of NATO, former U.K. Minister of Defense, and a host of military officers from NATO and NATO-aligned countries.
It is also a favored training ground for the secret services. A 2009 report published by the CIA described how beneficial it is to “use universities as a means of intelligence training,” writing that “exposure to an academic environment, such as the Department of War Studies at King’s College London, can add several elements that may be harder to provide within the government system,” also mentioning that the department’s faculty have “extensive and well-rounded intelligence experience.”
https://www.mintpressnews.com/kings-college-london0training-social-media-managers/281787/
The proof will be in the pudding. If Musk manages to take control of Twitter it should be obvious fairly soon if he is committed to free speech or is just acting as a cover for the intelligence community.
As for the deep state and Biden regime using SpaceX as leverage against Musk this would be a difficult thing to do. SpaceX is a privately funded company. It has binding contracts with NASA and the Pentagon for delivering payloads and astronauts into space. So far SpaceX has performed magnificently in providing these services to NASA and the Pentagon. SpaceX broke the monopoly that United Launch Alliance (ULA) had in delivering payloads into space.
The Biden regime can’t just cancel these binding multi-year contracts just because they don’t like Musk’s politics.
Musk is facing the battle of his lifetime. For at least half a century a relatively small elite group of people have had near total control over the flow of information. They have been the gatekeepers who decide what you can or can’t read or watch. Having control over the flow of information made them very powerful and very wealthy not just in media but in other centers of power .
And now Elon Musk who is not from their ranks is about to take control of the most powerful portal for information in the world. Whatever you think about twitter as a profitable business model there can be no question it is the most powerful conduit of information in the world today. Nothing comes close.
It must be noted that the same powerful elite who have had a stranglehold on the flow of information up till now also control Joe Biden’s White House. Take a look at the organization chart for Biden’s White House and you see this elite group occupies every cabinet position of importance. Every single one!
And so, Janet Yellen will use her Treasury Department to go after Musk and Merrick Garland will use his DOJ to go after Musk (with the same vigor he goes after white Christians) and they will both be ruthless in trying to protect the interests of their tribe! The American people be damned!
The ones who stand to lose in the Twit Freedom Buyout are DT and Truth. Getting censored gave DT the motivation to start his own. Once the Twit censorship is removed, Truth will have less reason to exist.
Musk ain’t buying Shite. It’s a headfake to allow Twit to pivot back to allowing those they really want to track back onto the platform. And probably a nice way to launder a bunch of “someones” money.
If the Cabal wants to block Musk from TWITTER, then why are they so entwined with him on lots of other ginormous Projects????
“You know, he’s kind of a peculiar person”, as some MIGHT say.
One thing is certain.
Bloomberg (price data real, news not so much) coming out with the CFIUA story provided signal of US involvement behind to scenes at Twitter.
Think this was major event for people who are unaware of US IC partnerships with Big Tech.
Hmmm….if what Sundance says is true, that Twitte must be using US government servers, then I immediately question Musk’s statement about ‘transparency’. I wonder whether this is just not some kind of theatre, that will precipitate the introduction of the destruction of ‘anonymity’ on Twitter (and eventually the internet)…..
Everyone knows that the DeepState/USG will do everything in it’s power to stop free speech on Twit.
Reading through the thread, no one has thought that perhaps Musk was asked to purchase Twitter. Bail it out? All the world is a stage to be seen and heard.
Honestly, Christ followers are called to be peacemakers. No greater time in America to be in prayer for this country. For the very souls of mankind. To practice forgiveness and show mercy and love. Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be as wary as serpents, and as innocent as doves.“ (NASB)
Put on the full armor of God. We do not war against flesh but the principalities of darkness. Let it be.
CFIUS review??? Two words: Hunter Biden.
My own opinion is that he was upset that other car companies were getting subsidies that he was not. He knows what twitter is, and is using it as leverage.
I don’t think it is necessarily an adversarial relationship, I think he just doesn’t kick back as much money as our fully corrupt government would like. They were punishing Tesla for it, so he is kicking them where it hurts. It’s a dance, a game, and Elon seems to be the better player at it.
This is why they are resorting to threatening force against one of his other companies. They are not smart enough to beat him in the game of politics.
CFIUS is a joke, an empty store front. CFIUS has said and done nothing to stop CCP purchases of large plots of American real estate, including plots that have US military bases as neighbors. Suspicious Cat senses that CFIUS’ role is to put a smiley face on financial alliances between members of the CCP and their US government progressive thugtard partners.
It is important to remember that the US government is not a single, unified organization. Musk has long-standing relationships with NASA, the intelligence community (IC) and DoD, but his relationship with the current administration is strained. The democrats pointedly excluded Tesla from tax rebates for electric vehicles in the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act.” NASA, DoD and the IC and Ukraine!) rely on capabilities delivered by SpaceX, but Biden (and democrats in power) have fallen out of love with Musk. It will be interesting to see how much the government messes with Musk, given this underlying dynamic.
Just a couple of questions to clarify what we are seeing.
Do you trust Twitter?
Does Twitter reflect accurately what most people believe and think about any issue?
If you were a behind the scenes operative using Twitter to shape public opinion and realized that what you did to Trump and others has created a giant credibility problem that could make your infrastructure useless, how would you go about restoring trust in your platform?
It is a fact of life that trust lost by deeds cannot be restored by words. What actions are necessary to make people believe that Twitter is trustworthy?
There is no business case for twitter. A massive cut in employees is warranted but will that be enough to increase productivity and create profit? I doubt it.
So what’s the real center of gravity here?
Corporations like Twitter? Or,
Twisted cultural and political forces that subvert reasoned, argued pursuit of truth?
Seems to me the Twitters of the world are the replaceable instruments – but not the cause. The battle runs much deeper. Risking some vulgarity, it appears to end at the same starting point – realizing power to change the course of events. What are the objectives of this battle, what are the sources of power and how will it be conducted?
As soon as someone starts with the “Truth” & Transparency, it might as well be Transparenting. Both are lies.
“Indeed, almost every Musk venture is tied into the matrix of multiple government institutions.”
And that’s all you really need to know about Elon Musk. Why some people revere him as a cavalier fighting the system is beyond me. He wants “free speech” on Twitter? So what.
For me, all of Elon’s supposed good intentions go right the window just by owning Tesla. In the larger scheme of things, all the Cloud People that want you to go green, eat bugs, and “own nothing and be happy” are the same that promote and support electric vehicles as a stepping stone away from traditional fuels. Never mind the true environmental cost of mining the materials for batteries. Who cares about the exploitation of child labor in countries where these minerals are mined? Forget that an electric vehicle costs just as much, if not more, than a gas powered vehicle. Or that a replacement battery is $30k. Then there’s charging time and lack of hauling power in electronic trucks. And the biggest bullet point is the grid; how it’s not structured for all these electric vehicles, that your tax money is paying for grid upkeep and charging stations, and that the grid still needs traditional fuels for power.
As SD points out, it’s not enough that Mr. Musk buys Twitter and things change for the better. This is a partnership with black hats. It’s about monitoring what people say and who they interact with. Elon Musk is a Trojan Horse.
