A solid dive by Law.Com and Daily Business Review into the background of who is financing Donald Trump versus who is financing Ron DeSantis should help to clarify the nature of the difference between them.
President Trump is funded primarily from massive amounts of small contributions from small donors, the MAGA base.
Governor Ron DeSantis is funded primarily by a small group of exclusive Wall Street corporations, billionaires and hedge fund managers, and almost no small donors.
Essentially, if you are thinking about MAGA populism -vs- corporate republicanism; well, there’s the issue in easiest to understand data form.
Additionally, the new managers of DeSantis have recently noticed the vulnerability and hired firms to try and stimulate small donor amounts in an effort to avoid the jaw dropping difference in average donation. A strategy deployed by Jeb Bush in 2015. Pay attention to the names giving large donations to DeSantis and you will see: (a) where the economic policy distinction comes from; and (b) where the RDS branding and consulting image is coming from.
Business Daily Review – Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has raised more money than Donald Trump since the former president left office, relying on deep-pocketed donors rather than the small-dollar contributors he’ll need if he seeks the White House in 2024.
DeSantis … has amassed $142 million from the start of 2021 through Aug. 5 this year from donors such as the hedge fund billionaires Ken Griffin and Paul Tudor Jones. That tops the $136 million Trump collected over a slightly shorter period.
Unlike Trump, who relies largely on a network of small-dollar donors to fund his postpresidential political operations, DeSantis has raised the bulk of his money from a small number of wealthy donors writing him giant checks. That gives him plenty of money for his reelection effort in Florida, where laws allow unlimited contributions.
But it also raises doubts about the level of grassroots support for DeSantis and suggests he’ll have to widen his fundraising base for any presidential bid because federal rules limit direct contributions to candidates to just $2,900 per donor.
About 500 donors have given $50,000 or more to Friends of Ron DeSantis, his political action committee which under Florida law can accept donations in unlimited amounts, accounting for $88 million of his fundraising haul. His big donors come from finance and real estate, health care and construction and a wide range of other businesses, a Bloomberg analysis of Florida campaign finance filings shows.
By contrast, donors who made contributions of less than $200 accounted for $8 million, or just 6%, of his haul. Unlike Trump, who’s raised $74 million or 54% of his total from January 2021 through June 30 from small-dollar donors, DeSantis doesn’t send multiple, daily fundraising pitches to supporters. Recently his campaign went a month without sending a text message to potential donors who signed up to receive them.
His top 500 donors include 10 billionaires, including Citadel’s Griffin, who moved his hedge fund’s headquarters to Miami from Chicago 14 months after giving $5 million. Other contributors include Tudor Jones, the chief executive officer of Tudor Investment Corp., Home Depot Inc. co-founder Bernard Marcus and Thomas Peterffy, the chairman of Interactive Brokers Inc. Ron DeSantis has done a great job in Florida, mostly on social impact issues. However, on a national policy level, specifically on a presidential level for 2024, the donor influence becomes troubling.
Issues around school choice, school boards, woke policy and social issues in general are easier to handle for voters at a local level. City, county and state representatives, and the elections they come from, are the people and places where voters can make a substantive difference in their own outcome.
As a parent or individual you have the ability to fight back against social and ideological issues at a city, county and state level. However, when it comes to issues of national economics, international trade policy and national energy policy, those battles happen at the federal level. That’s where the President of the United States has a major influence.
As examples, the price of gasoline and energy are influenced by the president through regulatory policy. Similarly, international trade agreements, economic policy and monetary policy, have consequences for domestic investment, economic growth, jobs, employment, wage growth and expanded domestic wealth.
Simply put, the president has a strong impact on the nation, and the people within it, from an economic perspective.
All modern republicans are incapable of executing a policy that is pro-U.S. worker, because every modern republican is a beneficiary of Wall Street, hedge funds and multinational corporate contributions; exactly like those outlined for Ron DeSantis. As a consequence, economic policy adverse to the interests of Wall Street, Banks, hedge funds and multinational corporations do not come from modern republican politicians.
This dynamic reflects the distinction that made Donald Trump unique.
Unlike traditional republicans, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders both agreed on the problem. Where they disagreed was the solution.
Donald Trump used domestic economic policy tools like trade tariffs and countervailing duties to change the corporate behavior of the multinationals. Bernie Sander’s approach is to regulate the corporations and force a behavior change.
Put another way, Bernie wants to change the economic referees, while Trump’s approach is to change the economic rules of the game and let the teams play it.
You might remember a large percentage of Bernie Sanders voters joined team Trump in 2016. That’s because both teams agreed on the problem within our national economic situation. The result was MAGA, a massive coalition of working-class voters, based on economics, that cuts through every social distinction of race, color, sex, orientation, etc. The issue that binds the MAGA voters together is economic policy.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a good governor for Florida, and he should be reelected easily. However, do not fool yourself into believing the massive coalition of MAGA voters would ever transfer to a corporate republican. It will not. EVER.
When people ask me who should come in after Trump, my answer is simple…. Show me the economic nationalist.
If there isn’t another one,… well, what does that tell you about the Republican party?
Last point. Florida republicans have a major blind spot they keep ignoring and DeSantis is very lucky Charlie Crist doesn’t have the resources to exploit it.
Housing costs, rents and homeowners’ insurance in Florida have skyrocketed. In some places home insurance has tripled just this year; yes, tripled. Energy costs also increased massively in Florida, in many areas electricity rates have doubled. Water utility costs in Florida have consistently been the highest in the nation due to the nature of the infrastructure and rapid expansion of the population. Additionally, property tax costs -even with homestead protections- are a serious issue for lots of voters.
Put those economic issues, all being ignored by the governor’s office – as he campaigns around the country to raise his national profile, on top of high gasoline and food prices and DeSantis is very vulnerable on the way Floridians feel about their economic security.
Focusing on wokeism and social issues is an option when economic issues are not in crisis. However, focusing on social issues while ignoring the economic pain and crisis, and you find yourself looking detached. aloof and vulnerable to political attack….. Then again, a typical republican.
.
DeSantis is popular in Florida, Trump is popular though out the United States. When the time comes the 2024 election will belong to Trump if we can stop the election fraud.
The will of the people is far greater than the power of money.
“,…if WE can stop the election fraud.”
THANK YOU for that, and,…dare I say it?
YES, we CAN.
We KNOW how to DO it, we just need to get busy and DO it.
I’ve been down on DeSantis lately, as I have in the past.
But I did see a glimmer of hope with his comment regarding Fauci, something to the effect of “I wish they would throw that little elf into the Potomac.”
That was not scripted, that came from his heart. I just hope he can find it in himself to break away from the GOPe, he doesn’t need them to be successful.
Give credit where credit is due …
Was he openly disparaging the Vaxx before?
There’s a bandwagon for that now, as curiously timed as his nationwide debut . . .
Didn’t think I’d ever say anything good about DeSantis, but yes, he was always, openly, disparaging the Vax.
He was consistent about that from day one.
Well we surely have a lot of his commentary to revisit in the coming days, but I find his recent noisiness on the subject disconcerting in light of the unmistakable massive narrative shift blaming PDJT for the Vaxx and all it’s ills which only just now the media noticed.
Wonder when it will become common knowledge that his oft touted monoclonal antibodies are not quite the safe alternative they were made out to be?
I believe you are on the right track with both of your thoughts.
What is the problem with the monoclonal antibodies?
I can’t recall where to find the video I saw on the matter which is what I’d prefer to share if I could.
It was quite disturbing, from a very experienced medical professional, the kind that doesn’t get airplay during plandemics.
The mental images I have from it are so graphic and disturbing that I honestly don’t want to share my recollections of it. Like most things, I’m more than certain that some digging will bring it up.
When I caught covid last year the Mayo offered me the monoclonal antibodies but after reading up about them I declined. I continued with Dr. Z”s protocol but used quercitin instead of hydrocxychloroquine. I will say it was the sickest I have ever been and took me months to feel better, but I never took to bed I just kept moving . I live in Florida and I will say I can’t work out in heat like I used to.
I’m glad you didn’t take them.
I’d love Florida but due to Brain Stem Fever am already pretty limited heat-wise.
.
The first and biggest problem is that they are not ivermection. They are not hydroxycholorquine. They are not zinc. They are not IV infusions of vitamin C. They are not cheap, safe treatments that could have and should have been made widely available.
.
My Governor invested in Monoclonal Antibodies.. Is HCQ/ivermectin OTC in our State? No.
I live in Illinois and they were confiscating Ivermectin
shipments at customs/O’Hare. When I purchased it
at a pharmacy in India, they sent it with a fake return
address, but it was all in Farsi. Hilarious!
It is still in my safe; luckily no one in our family has
had to use it.
Mouse DNA.
You are correct. Both DeSantis and Abbott of Texas touted the monoclonal antibodies as a viable solution to the virus, in the early stages of the outbreak.
Problem was, they ran out, it was only a temporary solution.
Now, none of that even matters now.
They blame PDJT for the vaccine, yet they still mandate the PDJT vaccine for foreigners coming into the country, even to this day, total bullshit.
All the side effects associated with the vaccine were well known waaaaayyyyy before now, that information was available everywhere and they chose to ignore it, all conspiracy theory they said, yet my wife, a Sr. nurse, has told me horror stories of those that took the mRNA vaccine.
She mentioned just last week a guy came in for surgery due to ‘abdominal bloating’, another foreigner that wanted the ‘great’ vaccines the West produced and he got it.
They went in to investigate and had to cut into him and he basically exploded all over everyone.
That’s your mRNA vaccine at work.
Not mine.
I knew it would be suicide.
Incidentally, your anecdote sounds an awful lot like what I saw about MCA’s.
Organs grown together . . . the stuff of nightmares.
What a trial this world is enduring in our own days.
Oh Maquis, not at all saying “you”, meant that in general, c’mon man ! You know me.
Both my wife and me got “The Jab”, like I mentioned before, she’s a Sr. nurse at the hospital here, I have no idea what was in the syringe she injected me with, she knew I was anti-vax but she said “Get to the vax site now, Im on duty !!!”
I got partitioned off from everyone else, she came by and injected me with something, that’s all I will say.
Now I have a certificate that clears me for International travel.
Lucky you!
I meant the sane smart wife part.
You sure about that? There is zero foreigner Covid checking going on at the Southern border.
I live in Thailand.
So? Point being get the details correct. Your point is that legal immigration is policed. No argument.
Been to Thailand more than once. Nice people.
It depends…
Novak Djokovic, unvaxxxxed…denied entry in the US to play into the US Open.
5 million plus foreign invaders, carrying who knows what diseases and malevolent intentions…not a problem.
Yes, No-vax Djokovic, needs the DJT vaccine to enter the country to play in Ohio and the US Open in New York, but yet the D’s are getting ready to tar and feather DJT for the vaccine.
He didn’t have the vaccine for the Australian Open, because he just recovered from it. The Aussie govt. could have done the civil thing, and deny him entry to the tournament, but no, the “canceled” his visa, put him in detention and deported him.
Now he is barred from coming into Australia for 3 years, and he’s won there I think 7 times.
That is the world we live in now. The Aussies here in Thailand get no respect since so many of pedo’s arrested are Aussie, followed in a close second by the UK.
Gabriel, I have a friend of my heart in Australia who has made it his life’s work to expose those paedophiles there, many in government. Many. He is an ordinary man of no means who has the goods. We’ve lost touch through an unfortunate slip on his part. But it seems you’ve just confirmed what for a long time he has fought. God bless my friend there in Australia. He has not given up.
And yes. The Commonwealth has rotted from the inside. Djokovic by standing his ground simply showcases their illiberality, their insanity, their authoritarianism, their psychopathy. I am a fan of his stance and resolve.
Funny story, ( kind of ).
We had either an Aussie or a Brit across the street from us that rented the house from Taiwanese/Chinese owner.
The guy would strut around the village we live in with his trophy 13 year old “girlfriend” and her kid ( maybe 2 years old ).
I never talked to the guy, he was only one of two other foreigners living where we are, the other guy was an American that kept to himself, had a Thai wife, when we passed each other, neither of us would say anything. Some people come here to escape “whatever” and don’t have contact with anyone.
But the Aussie was an ***, he took his little girlfriend around like he was something special, wife said he looked like a pig, never washed his hair and he was about 60+ years old.
One day, I was sitting on the patio, drinking a beer and smoking a couple of cigarettes, and suddenly the family rolled up, all of them.
I don’t know exactly what happened because I couldn’t see it, but I could hear it. They left the door to the kitchen open and I’m only like 60′ away. The Grandmother came by, picked up the child, he was crying, saw them go by on a motorbike.
Then all I heard was crashing dishes, him hitting the floor, and him begging for his life, someone turned up the radio that was playing ‘Hail to the Chief’, and you could hear a few screams and then nothing.
I don’t know what happened to him but I heard the truck being loaded, and saw the Thai family drive away in his truck with the other from the family truck following him.
Told my wife about it, didn’t call the police, and she said the guy got what he deserved.
Another Aussie that we talked to on a couple of occasions, never visited with him, came into the operating room at the hospital one day and my wife said he died during surgery.
I said, “Oh my, how awful !”, she told me not to feel that way, he was a pedo with an 11 year old “girlfriend” and died during a simple procedure. That’s all she would say.
Sometimes silence is the best answer, especially in cases like this. One can only imagine, with extreme heartbreak, what so many little children go through. I plead with God that He would save those bless-ed children.
If those two were cases of “Clean Up on Aisles 4 and 5!”? So be it. May there be more of it. Amen🙏
Yeah, it happens quite often here. It’s not the police or military your need to worry about, it’s the family.
Wife said the Aussie was abusing the 2 year old boy, that’s why the family came by.
She just said: “Shut the @#$% up and tone your mouth down, you’re not in the United States.”
All she said after that was:
#1 – Don’t piss off your neighbors.
#2 – Don’t EVER call the police.
Crazy b****, then she said, “I bought you a few beers ! Let’s go play tennis tonight and we come back and have nice dinner !”, Like it’s nothing.
Maybe that’s why I love her.
You live in a very different world with its different rules and norms. I think the key to successful living abroad, which I have done, is too stand back and observe, a very difficult thing for Americans to do (I have noticed). You are, essentially, a guest in someone else’s home. I never lost sight of that, and I was happy. It sounds as if your philosophy might be similar.
When in Rome…others in Not America take care of their “problems”. Best always to let them get on with it. Good luck to them.
Blessings, Gabriel, and to your wife.
Why do you call it the DJT vaccine when they refused to release it until AFTER he was cheated out of office?
Do you really believe they told DJT anything TRUTHFULL while they were plotting so effusively against him? Remember that they did so by COUNTERMANDING his orders without his knowledge just as they claimed they did with troop deployments and any other issue they could.
WHO pre-paid and played the Wuhan Institute and BIOWEAPONS? We know 0bama stymied every front, rear, and in between he could before he was officially out of the White House and giving orders from “retirement”.
Two words, “Warp Speed”.
“Do you really believe they told DJT anything TRUTHFULL”
No.
Trump thought he was doing the right thing, he left his department store manequin son-in-law in charge of the vaccine, and like everything else he touched, it turned to @#$%.
WHO pre-paid and played the Wuhan Institute and BIOWEAPONS?
The French built Wuhan, then turned it over to the Chinese, and the United States by way of the NIC and NIHR as well as another agency, funded the reasearch.
So is it the China virus or the US virus ? And what about all those level 3-4 US funded bio-labs Russia has now occupied in Ukraine, almost 200 of them. Are those China’s problem ?
since Ozero “commands” from afar what makes you think HE had any intimate knowledge on the workings or content of the “vaccine?”
Exactly!
The Governors have no power to mandate foreign travel into the US. That is federal.
Once those foreigners exit the airport, I’ll use DFW for example since I use to live there, they are in state territory.
Abbott hasn’t done jack @#$% about ANY foreigner entering Texas, either through a port of entry, or illegally across the Rio Grande.
I’m in that area. You are correct. But then he has a page on the WEF website somewhere, which is pretty indicative to me of where his intentions actually are. And he is a Bushie. My emails to Abbott about this issue have gone unacknowledged, even a courteous “thank you”. No…we all know what Abbott is, but the alternative? Heaven forfend.
SAME with the savior of the republic everyone is lauding in FL DeSantis….OH, he has JAWED about it….do anything?….NAW
Yes and no. Don’t doubt for a second that TX has established a network of law enforcement capabilities that can monitor and/or stop the movement of illegals throughout the state. It’s a capability that has other applications (think civil unrest).
If you want to focus on TX, how about the Federal level military exercises in the San Antonio area that started with the Bush admin (continued by Obama) for DOMESTIC urban environment response – contra the Posse Comitatus Act.
Sounds like a scene from ‘Alien’.
1819news.com Embalmer Discovers Over 100 Cases of Strange Clots In People Since The Release of Covid 19 vaccinations: “I took and looked at the substance with a biochemist here in Birmingham. We analyzed multiple vaccine vials of J&J and Moderna vaccine,” Triantos said. “We looked under a dark field microscope with 1200X power, and we saw so much debris in it, and things that looked like metallic flecks. Looking at these postmortem fibrous tissues, it kinda looks like what I was looking at in the microscope of the dang vaccine.” Many disturbing pictures. These clots look like fiber. I have seen pictures of clots removed by embalmers that look like huge BLOOD clots, some the size of your hand/fist. First saw mention of this last Spring.
Please look up the videos of John O’Looney, British funeral home owner. His latest confirms what has been known for a LONG time about these non blood clots. This remarkable and outspoken man has testified for Dr Fuellmich and others.
My view is that the true horror is about to become manifest. And nothing will be able to stop it.
not just ignore it but FAILED to include it as instructions when they administered the experimental gene therapy approved under EUA required by LAW for “informed consent”
Yes and no.
There is no escaping – none, zero, zip, nada – the basics of Operation Warp Speed. Responsibility will be measured out no matter how much rationalizing.
The flip side, however, is that the high intensity, global aspect of the jabs with associated indirect pressures (e.g., no shot? lose your job) all happened under Biden and Dem leadership. They took the tools (just as they have for some aspects of trade policy, btw) and expanded upon them by orders of magnitude. That responsibility cannot be escaped. The narrative, and the politics, became ten times worse under their leadership.
Somehow no long able to edit. So…a different path.
Yes and no.
There is no escaping – none, zero, zip, nada – the basics of Operation Warp Speed. Responsibility will be measured out no matter how much the rationalizing.
The flip side, however, is that the high intensity, global aspect of the jabs with associated indirect pressures (e.g., no shot? lose your job) all happened under Biden and Dem leadership. They took the tools (just as they have for some aspects of trade policy, btw) and expanded upon them by orders of magnitude; they transitioned into full bore mandatory implementations in the federal sector. That responsibility cannot be escaped. The narrative, and the politics, became ten times worse under their leadership. They can go after DJT vis Covid but it will backfire badly.
Expressed another way: DJT did not use Covid as a pretext for exacerbating existing class frictions and controlling behavior at the individual, family and small business end of things as a matter national health policy. However, his approach, established key components of the toolset later exploited by the Dems. As others have noted, statistical and epidemiological details on mRNA existed well before 2020; outlier events/aberrant results were not statistically insignificant. The rest is history: big pharma’s suspect testing/statistical procedures, CDC weaponization, EUA bastardization, big media censorship and cheerleading, financial incentivizing of false Covid reporting, upper and political classes keeping to a different set of standards during lockdowns, forced firings, personal assaults, etc.
I’m with you.
I spent the last couple years praying PDJT was prepared to defend himself against this, it was always coming.
I’m not convinced he can’t, but this will be ugly, very ugly.
I saw it as well, Maquis, and I’ve been waiting for what is coming. But we are not alone. Here is Gonzalo Lira’s tweet from August 24…
“I told you guys months ago –when they started blaming Trump for the vaccine, that’s when you would know that the Narrative is about to change, and the effects/dangers of the shot were becoming too big to hide or ignore.”
One more thing…let’s not forget who Mr Trump put in charge of the Task Force…Mike Pence.
Pence,,,well, same issue. Trumps judgement, those he listened to and those he trusted. I said for some time Trump just can’t go on after the steal and the lockdowns like he doesn’t have to change some serious direction. What I mean by that is he needs to acknowledge his MISTAKES of repeatedly bowing to Mitch and allowing non-maga to his inner circle. I don’t care if he couldn’t get anyone confirmed. Use the next in line while waiting and keep firing them, going down the line until a non swamper is found.
Basically he has to explain how the same thing would not happen again? If he were to be elected. I loved Trump but I can’t square with him shilling for big pharma.
……………….Trump……….no I’m not for mandatory shots but you should take them, I did, they work, they save lives. NO THANKS
Yup.
Gonzalo gets a lots of hackles up around here for some reason, but frankly he’s been pretty solid with his observations and most prognostications and the parts where he castigates the US I can only now agree, or at least have a dang good idea where he’s coming from.
Truth has no agenda even if the guy pisses you off or hates your flag, or something. 😁
This all has the air of planning. Megan Kelly dropping the F-bomb, really? How many times has she castigated Fauci the last two years? Heck, I’m not convinced that Fauci’s retirement announcement wasn’t arranged in order to create a faux organic focus for the new narratives and the new weapon against PDJT.
Nevertheless, the Vaxx toll is indeed mounting, and it’s going to get so much worse.
I believe you are correct about Fauci’s strangely timed “resignation”. The dominoes are being lined up…same with the Birx book, same with the CDC’s public 180 on their policies.
As for Gonzalo? I listen and find myself agreeing with him. But as the dirty covers are now off what this country has been involved in for decades, how can I not? Jigsaw pieces are being fitted, and the hideous picture which appears is almost more than I can stand to look at.
Agree.
I have always preferred knowing all the facts whether favorable to the cause or not – as a matter of personal ethics and to facilitate informed decisions.
The Internet/information age has not realized the triumph of truth/facts as an outcome of critical mass reviews as originally thought by the first generation of technologists/social commenters. They assumed free speech. They assumed personal integrity on the part of most individuals, organizations and governments.
They were wrong.
Sure he did not…….but surely you can see how he teed it up for the Dems? He was duped by Fauci and co. hook line and sinker. After that they ran the show, and still do.
When you’re in charge you shoulder the responsibility. End of story.
It was well known that Fauci botched much of the Federal level HIV response. Preliminary data on mRNA secondary effects was already known prior to 2020. I forget the man’s name (Mr Bright?), but the person placed in charge of the business end of implementing OWS ended up resigning prior to implementation of policy because he openly questioned the secondary effects.
I am very concerned about the efforts by the Demo-Commies to now BLAME our President Trump for the vaccines.
Tucker had a really good opening on that topic last night and he brilliantly used it to show that now it will be okay to talk about all the deaths and illnesses that are a direct result of the injections.
As long as it’s “Trump’s Fault” you can say just about anything now about how awful the fake vaccines are and how Op Warp Speed was this huge mistake. Truly amazing how fast the Left manages to get out their spin.
I always noted since they came to power that the one program instituted by President Trump that the Bidenistas never criticized or unraveled was Op Warp Speed and the vaccines.
Now they will turn things around for the elections.
As far as DeSantis- we have to stop this BS of tearing our own people apart. DeSantis is NOT THE ENEMY for God’s sake!!
Please let’s keep our eyes on the target. We are in a war for our survival.
without Warp Speed you can BET the “Medical Emergency” and LOCKDOWN would still be in place because they would still be thrashing around acting as if they were looking for a solution when they were just tightening the thumbscrews some more
Not true. See above.
Yikes how did that happen? 🤭 See below.
Not at all. He was promoting it to adults, just not children. He himself is apparently vaxxed.
Hmmm, could of swore he was always anti-vax publicly, even though he received it, as did Joe Rogan.
If DeSantis took the real vax, then why in God’s name are we discussing his presidential opportunites?
Are we expecting that he will not have ANY detrimental side effects?
Are we not expecting him to develop heart problems or Sudden Adult Death Syndrome?
Are the vaccine injuries and projected early deaths from it something that doesn’t effect a politician?
If you are a regular citizen and took the vax but want to live – just become a politician to ensure a long and healthy life??
I submit that our paradigm on this needs adjustment.
It’s not a binary solution space. There’s a probability curve for secondary vaccine effects.
‘Always, openly, disparaging the vax’???
Sounds like revisionist history.
I would say desantis ( and many others ) moreso disparaged the Biden vax
‘mandate’,
not the vax option.
In the interest of vax or other medical choices,
he ( and many others ) helped with the providing the alternative of monoclonal antibody treatment
to Florida
[ until the biden feds, pretending to be balanced, squeezed antibody distribution availability from Florida – and other red states.]
For instance:
https://www.flgov.com/20
21/08/20/governor-ron-desantis-opens-two-new-monoclonal-antibody-treatment-state-sites-in-northwest-florida/
That was not the only state that did so. It’s the state that that the media mostly covered. ( Trump resides in Florida]
The vax ( gene therapy treatment ) was also widely available in Fl.
Imho
I stand corrected, yes, he was always against the mandate, not the necessarily the vax itself.
Monoclonal antibody treatment is not the same as the vax.
So what? Far as I am concerned that was the key sticking point all along. Wanna take the vax? Go for it. Don’t want to? It’s a free country and you will suffer no consequences for taking ownership of your health in a heavily politicized context, covered by a never ending get out of jail free card without any long-term trend analysis.
Never locked down Florida. No mandates. Made sure the Dems could not cheat in 2020. Took on Disney and kicked their rear end. Fired and frog-marched a left-wing prosecutor off the premises.
.
Stop it! He absolutely did do the equivalent of lockdowns. Here are his 2020 executive orders. See, e.g. 3/17/2020.
https://www.flgov.com/2020-executive-orders/
He just wasn’t as bad and as prolonged as the blue state tyrants.
We need to guard against adopting reflexive all-good, all-bad positions. It’s not helpful for facilitating thoughtful decision-making.
.
Neither is playing on the semantics of “lockdown”. Much less ignoring what actually happened on the ground.
He did too close us down! 2 weeks to slow the spread! get it together!
Oh my God! Lock up that motherless cretin now!
Are you SURE the Dimm/commies did not cheat in 2020?….I am not…..still DOMINION machines there…..still had MAIL-IN ballots there…what was the margin with Gillum the crackhead like 20k?…..even with THIS he STILL has done NOTHING about it in nearly 2 years since
How many other R Govs also were silent about the 2020 election?
After he and the wife “took” the vakks, then the wife comes down with cancer out of the blue..
How does that compare with what Trump has told the people about the vaccine?
No, DeSantis wasn’t always against the vax.The only possible good point of “blame Trump for the vax” is that people will wake up to possible side effects of the vax and realize ir does not work, imo.
The blame lies with CDC, Fauci Birx and the Big Pharma effort to mandate and brainwash the world. Dr. Malone and others were sounding the alarm soon enough, but were ignored by many.
But DeSantis was on board at first as well.
https://floridapolitics.com/archives/442685-ron-desantis-urges-vaccinations-blames-mainstream-messaging-for-skeptics/
DeSantis got the J&J vax and encouraged everyone to get vaccinated.
“If you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chance of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero … These vaccines are saving lives,” he said during a press conference.”
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/ron-desantis-floridians-vaccinated-lockdowns-b1888203.html
Thank you!
I was certain that an Anti-Vaxx Warrior as described would not have escaped my notice.
Again, total BS.
The ones dying around me are the ones with the mRNA vaccine.
Um, Trump has been consistently pro-vaxx. In fact, all politicians have been pro-vaxx even if they are against coercion of the decision to take it or not. At best, they say “I think everyone should be vaxxed but I think everyone should make that choice themselves and not be coerced.”
I’m all too aware of that, can’t imagine how many times I’ve cringed at each and every one of those instances.
.
Ohforpetessake. Trump was in the middle of bogus impeachment hearings timed to coincide with the release of the Covid nonsense. While he was in the freaking defense phase of the Senate trial, Fauci, Pharma and co. were feeding him lies about their already-underway “vaccines”. He was blindsided.
Immediately — immediately — afterward, the propaganda about people dying in the streets of NYC, screaming about lack of supplies and overwhelmed hospitals, etc. etc. etc. All of which he handled, e.g. the manufacture of ventilators they didn’t use, the military preparing temporary hospitals they didn’t use. And the freaking lockdowns and hysteria.
And all the while, Fauci, Birx, Pharma et al. fomenting more crazies, putting out media pile-ons against any suggestions Trump made of potential treatments.
He was — and still is — in a “no-win” position. NOW, with the facts starting to trickle out into the mainstream about how poisonous these “vaccines” really are, the propaganda pivot is to blame Trump.
(How many minutes do you have in YOUR day?)
.
The vax came out to the public as Trump was leaving office.
The Biden Administration pushed it, tried to get companies to mandate it and kept the country closed. Biden forced the military to take the vaccine as well.
Trump’s Administration also pushed Ivermectin and hydroxychloriquine and was ridiculed for it. He tried to give people a choice.
Monoclonal antibodies work and Biden stopped producing and distributing them. Perhaps election fever will bring that product back into production so the vaxxed and non vaxxed can benefit from it when they get sick.
TPTB FREAKED when he brought up Ivermectin…they quickly banned it saying it had indetermined side effects….LOL as if the experimental gene therapy they were pushing did not
Yea! You know I designed and approved mass distribution of this really cool car that had a faulty transmission which ended up killing a lotta people. But, ya know, even though I was in charge, I acted on the advice of people I trusted and my wife was threatening me with divorce at the time. You can’t hold me accountable. Due diligence has always been a screwed up concept anyway – I agree!
Due diligence by the FDA and CDC because they are the medical experts charged to make sure medicines are safe?
No. Everyone.
I am so weary of the rationalizing for DJT and Covid.
He eff’d up. When the ship runs aground the skipper is held accountable – whether a direct product of his rudder orders/navigation or not.
Agree.
The dividing line has been the mandatory (i.e., anti freedom of choice) aspect of governance.
Exactly.
Has Trump ever disparaged the vaccine?
Trump never
‘mandated’ the gene therapy treatment.
Biden ‘lost his patience’ and
‘mandated’
the vaccine or lose your job / not fly ( need vax proof ) etc.
The media supported the coercions…
Sept 10 2021, speech, fact:
Regarding the curiously timed debut: There are no coincidences in politics.
Governor DeSantis purposefully solicited the wisdom of Dr. Scott atlas early on. He was one of the few governors may be the only one to call on Dr. Scott Atlas. He took a lot of heat going against “the science” yet stuck to his guns. Yes, got to give credit where credit is due. This information comes from the book “the real Anthony Fauci” by Robert Kennedy Jr. A must read!
it was completely manufactured, Designed to get headlines in order to hook and reel in MAGA voters.
we gotta learn to see the traps if we are going to falling for them.
Yes, he is saying the right things. He has made many strong decisions at the state level.
However, other Republicans who ran for (and some who were elected) president in the last 5-presidential elections (Trump being the exception) were financed by Wall Street and large corporate interests. Many of them mouthed appeasing platitudes. Not one of them was “for the people.” It was ultimately all neocon, global corporate bullshit. Money. Money. Money.
De Santis university background and his donor affiliations are troubling. I don’t want conservative voters to be set up and lulled into voting for another politician who owes their soul to corporate masters.
Follow the money.
“You load 16 tons, what do ya get? Another year older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don’t ya call me ’cause I can’t go. I owe my soul to the company store.” Tennessee Ernie Ford. Sounds like our Republicans owe their soul to the corporate store!
Why isn’t he getting rid of the dominion machines?
I’m not in Florida, but honestly I don’t believe we’ve heard a word from him about them.
My Governor has ignored millions of Emails and calls from Floridians on this, and many other subjects. I was soured on DeSantis in 2019. The people surrounding him do not give a “F” about real Floridians.
DJT won FL – Domnion machines notwithstanding.
“Real” Floridians? From this Floridian to you – you’re good for a laugh.
The integrity of Dominion voting machines is a viable concern. Note that CISA has pointed out software vulnerabilities in that technology. But before posting your own emotional blather, how about presenting a detailed analysis on the actual problems and supporting data.
I also questioned the integrity of Dominion machines at the ID verification desk, at the polling place, when I voted in the 2020 Presidential election in a state other than FL. Within a couple minutes the techie guy magically appeared with a “Sir, I understand you voiced concerns about the voting machines.” So we engaged in a short conversation the net outcome of which was I learned quickly the guy did not have a comprehensive understanding of the complete complex of software/firmware/hardware in any machine and that he was reliant on diagnostic software provided to him. I believe there was corruption. But proving it is a different matter.
Buddy, I highly recommend you look into Laurel Lee, his “handpicked” SOE during ’20 who took more than $250,000 in Zuckerborg Bucks to insure a “free and fair” election. She also gave a closed door presentation to Vote Tabulator execs against Florida Sunshine Law at the last SOE Conference. She was FIRED after Our Governor was embarrassed by grass roots canvassing that turned up voters on the rolls in ’20 that were born in 1850. Now laurel Lee just won the nomination in Florida’s 15th Congressional District. See how that works?? BTW were you born here and how many years have you been a resident? Are you a BiCoastal Commifronian? or a Yankee Carpetbagger Transplant?
You and a few of the others here remind me of the good old days when I used to listen to the excellent callers calling in to C-Span on politics.
When I was a kid I would watch “Crossfire” on CNN with Pops in the 80’s and early 90’s…
Good times. Crossfire & McLaughlin Group. Sometimes my very knowledgable older brother who got me into Buchananism/MAFA would call into C-Span. I use to call into my local “Con-Cast” and learned about how the media censors us. They did it to me.
Slainte friend
Cheers.
Jeez people, I have been more critical of DeSantis on this board more than anyone and got tarred and feathured for it. Wtf.
All I said was ‘I saw a glimmer of hope’ in his comments about Fauci.
I feel like I’m stuck in one of those ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situations …
I hear you Brother!
Honestly, seeing Ron Deification Syndrome making those remarks in the same window as Megan Kelly eff-bombing Fauci and memesters posting dwarf-tossing vids of him and the general feel of an artificial zeitgeist being pumped out across the board, to include the sudden media recognition of Vaxx injuries but only in conjunction with blaming Trump, it felt scripted.
So it would be honest to say that I am pretty damn suspicious right now and whiskers are aquiver.
I hate being played.
far too many people here get easily distracted by the bright light…..I call it the flavor of the month club…they will shift allegiance to the latest, bestest fad knowing little and thinking less on the long-term consequences of what they propose
Relax.
Highly charged emotional environment.
Wait till next year and on into 2024 when the Ruling Class/Uniparty truly go full scale rogue as the detrimental aspects of their policies become entrenched. Holy ****! My suspicion is that we look back on today as the halycon times!
The DeSantis spitballing has distracted folks from what is going on behind the scenes in Ukraine. Perhaps it has also distracted folks from long-term US strategy by the Ruling Class for Taiwan as well.
Nothing is what it seems.
I don’t want MAGA to be taken over by the “Big Club” just like the Tea Party. DeSantis could be used in this way. He may think he will not fall for it, but he has had a Republican Legislature in a red state at his back in Florida. DeSantis thinks he is golden.
Governing the whole country, with so many in the deep state against his agenda, as Trump did, is different.
Let’s put aside the inherent comedy in the unexpressed inference here (that the best candidates are billionaires cuz they aren’t beholden to the Soros of the world; i.e., billionaires are what we need as candidates!) and wonder, how did they get to be billionaires in the first place? There is obviously a gradient on this one. The evidence is that very few to none of these people are pure as the driven snow.
Well Phillip.
Trump is pretty darn clean .The FBI would not have to make up the “Russian hoax” to try and take him out, if they had real dirt on him. They were certainly illegally spying on his campaign long enough.
Trump , the billionaire business man from New York City , has been more investigated than any President, with no finding of illegal behavior. We would have heard about it years ago if there was something on him.
I am sure the Swamp cannot believe it possible that this man, without a hook for them to pull, is their opponent.
Plus, Trump fights and calls these criminal politicians out for what they are doing to our country.
The raid on Mar a Lago is the latest attempt to get Trump and once again reveals the putrid lack of professionalism in the DOJ and FBI, their willingness to break the law.
Trump is one in a million and we are so fortunate he stepped up to the plate for us
What a very “Trump” thing to say … proving, again, that DeSantis is doing his very best to COPY Trump. Except for all those populist, America FIRST business things
You bet! DeSantis should be mouthing ideas totally orthogonal to DJT!
Can’t make this stuff up!
I doubt he can…the three links above from Sundance, give me the thoughts that he might already be bought and paid for. I hope not.
As a tax payer, I was outraged that it took him so long to come up with a weakly stated, reminiscent of Romney type twit.
I was screaming within 2 hours of the reports of the raid on MAL.
His comment about the elf…I think it is just a statement to “show” he is in alignment with most of us, regarding the scamdemic fluster cluck.
Right now, he is under my microscope and anything he says is subject to micro-dissection.
you’ve been down on the Sandus lately – is it because we don’t have mask mandates, or is it because we don’t have travel restrictions, explain yourself
No, I don’t think I will, I already have. If you can’t distinguish between ‘a glimmer of hope’ versus ‘DeSantis 2024 all the way !’, then that’s your problem jim, not mine.
fauci is so unpopular that being down on him automatically has millions of people agreeing with you which in turn gets you noticed. And that is what politicians want. De Santis is a politician, President Trump is a businessman trying to save his country and its citizens.
oh, you can bet your sweet a$$, it was scripted.
Yes, this was the case for Kari Lake in Az. Also, if DS doesn’t do something about dominion in the state of FL. he may be in for a surprise. The 2020 election should have been a wakeup call for him. Just like biden , Crist said he doesn’t need MAGA votes.
too late in BOTH states for 2022…if something were to be done it would have had to have been done already….the traitor AZAG delayed out there to make sure of it and RDS did not even propose any serious changes to tighten election security in FL
We can’t allow economic nationalism to die. It’s been dead since, I don’t know….Taft? It’ll be sad if the republicans just go back to bringing up wedge issues every now and then, all the while forgetting about bringing jobs and real economic prosperity back home. They don’t know how vulnerable they are. I mean, to get all bothered about measly stimulus checks while subsidizing the salaries of the corrupt basketcase of country known as Ukraine — makes one look almost hypocritical.
I’ve been hearing about those housing issues in Florida as well. I expect that if Florida gets hit with a hurricane (cause you know it’s coming), the dems will probably pounce on that issue.
The FL housing narrative is incomplete. First of all, the housing market in FL has always been volatile. The huge influx of Blue state citizens into FL coupled to nationally applied monetary/fiscal policies that fueled huge liquidity excesses and sustained negative interest rates drove housing dynamics just like it has in every other state.
National housing stats show that 5-6% mortgage rates have had a severe impact on housing purchases at the $450K level and below- unaffordable for young millennials. Data now shows successive drops in listing prices, increased inventory coming to market (apparently many folks bought a second home but held on to them – gambled – on increasing housing prices; those chickens are now coming home to roost), etc. The housing market, in waves, is crashing. It’s even worse in many large metropolitan areas for commercial property.
FL is interesting. I live there. About six weeks ago the pattern of properties selling in a day or less abated. More importantly, selling/offer prices have begun to drop significantly. The supply side constraints to new development – which were significant leading to upwards of two years for a new home to be built – have also abated. There have been huge development projects driven by the New York/New Jersey/PA emigration to FL that have yet to complete (at least in Northern FL). I am less familiar with the stats at the high end/super rich housing sector. But I am aware anecdotally of folks in the 1-2 million dollar range who have either begun dropping their list prices or taken their properties off the market.
FL housing is not immune to basic economics -anymore than, say San Francisco or San Diego – where housing prices have also turned downward.
Is this your first Floridian Housing Bubble? Buckle up. Some-damn-body in charge had better slow development North of Tampa. The land up here is so sinkhole prone it’s a miracle we all haven’t collapsed under our own weight.
That’s what I meant by “has always been volatile”. Yes. I have looked at the data.
The point I have tried to introduce is that the housing market in FL in the last three years has been heavily influenced by national fiscal/monetary policy and blue state economic/political conditions.
Yup. I looked at Tampa – it is a fun place to live – but had concerns about sinkholes.
We love it here (further North). Though, I will confess, I’m looking for someplace else to go June through early Sept. Is it ever un-godly hot and humid during those mos!
I believe that many conservatives are willing to accept any crumb they can get from a politician. The bar is very low.
President Trump raised that bar high and brought hope.
But prior to President Trump when a republican took ANY action steps towards something that seemed good it brought encouragement and even rounds of praise.
But now we know we don’t have to settle. We have gone from being mostly frustrated with Republican politicians – to simply being unwilling to tolerate them.
NO MORE TYPICAL REPUBLICANS
When the slithering begins – learn from the past.
.
Exactly. Republicans have skated for years by being “pro-life” and to some degree pro-Second Amendment and giving lipservice to their Christianity. And for far too many people, that’s all they needed to hear.
.
Words. Words. Words. No true conviction or passion about anything. The term “public servant” has become a sad joke.
Case in point – look at the anemic response from McConnell and McCarthy to Biden’s illegal and unfunded $500B vote buying scheme. It should be a slam dunk for Republicans to stuff it, but so far only ‘strongly worded’ utterances.
“‘Strongly worded’ utterances.” Meaningless. Empty. ACTING.
Excellent comparison of the campaign coffers of both of these Top Tier Republican politicians.
President Trump proved during his 4 WH years that he genuinely cares about his mostly middle class voters and the American people and will do whatever he can to make their lives and futures better or “greater.” (MAGA but unfortunately also with COVID issues including harmful “experts” like Fauci)
Gov. DeSantis has also proven himself in a similar way to his Republican and Independent Floridian voters. So, neither of their political pasts discredits them. The disparities in their campaign fund raising is however striking and revealing if the math and donor source info is accurate. (No reason to doubt it)
It indicates that DeSantis has more billionaires and GOPe operatives supporting him and once again trying to buy a candidate that they can control and will dutifully deviate from the Trump populist MAGA campaign. But is DeSantis a fake devious politician that can be easily bought? While the math indicates some deep pocketed special interests are hoping that he can be bought there isn’t yet any proof to confirm it.
In Florida, he seems to be a devoted and sincere family man and a politician that wouldn’t enjoy ever selling out his voters or the USA just so he can become POTUS. But sundance is keeping a close and focused eye on him which is a good thing considering the serious decline that Biden has set into motion in the USA. If P Trump or DeSantis is elected in 2024, the USA’s deficit and debt will be so onerous that they will have a very tough time reversing the decline. That is the Democrat plan in case they lose.
What Sundance pointed out loud and clear is that while DeSantis is good on the social issues we care about, he has done little on the economic issues that are hurting Floridians. Other than Disney’s special tax district I don’t recall a single economic issue DeSantis has addressed in the last year.
Big red flag. It’s the abusive Republican dance of decades. Distract them with the social issues while plucking pockets.
At least get your propaganda lined up correctly. I don’t care who the source is – gross/universal generalizations are almost always dead on arrival.
Do you or do you not believe that DeSantis’ Covid policies had a net positive economic impact on small businesses (relative to other states)?
Did DeSantis operate to inhibit or promote tourism (a major revenue source) to FL?
Did DeSantis sign the Florida Freedom budget or not? Look it up.
Have FL state finances sunk into the debt abyss under DeSantis or has the state achieved a surplus? Look it up.
Have major corporations been relocating their HQs and infrastructure to FL or not?
Has the Republican mayor in Miami improved the economics and social metrics of that city or not? Doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
Plenty other stats to cross check. Do your homework first.
What, Florida legislators couldn’t bother to at least give their residents a pause on collecting food tax. Tennessee, the whole month of August, has had no tax on food, exception of prepared food. Why has Florida not done this? Why did Gov. DeSantis not push for this?
Well let’s see, electricity costs skyrocketing, pretty sure that’s a national phenomenon see Biden energy policies. I’m pretty sure the last time I checked the Governor of Florida doesn’t control national energy policies. I have heard the Governor criticize Biden’s energy policies, state we need to open up domestic drilling and mock the green new deal, but alas as noted those are just words. No policies, but I’m at a loss as to what policy Florida could implement
High rent prices, well again this is a national phenomenon. Rising housing prices too, except they are starting to fall but not as fast in Florida because more people are attracted to Florida lately for some odd reason.
Policies Governor DeSantis could implement. Let’s see, rent assistance? Hmm, that doesn’t seem very republican 🤔 Low interest loans to buy houses, hmmm🤔 I know a chicken in every pot🤔 scratch that.
Homeowners insurance rising in Florida, a tale as old as time. What is the Govenor to do??? Well that’s an issue the legislature has to deal with. What power does the Govenor have? He can call a special session and force the legislature to deal with a specific issue
WAIT? WHAT? Governor DeSantis already did that? What? No way I thought he only flew around the country promoting himself.
The outcome of that special session was not 100% what we the people wanted, but it was far away from what the insurance companies wanted so they are now putting the squeeze on us to force outcry from us to then push the legislature to pass bills more favorable to them. We’ve seen this movie before in Florida.
I agree this state should figure out a way to stop this abuse cycle.
I’m not too convinced that Charlie Crist wants to make an issue out of any of these subjects. He’s already stated he thinks Biden is doing a great job. DeSantis would love to force Crist to defend Biden’s policies. DeSantis would love to hear Crist complain about so many people moving to Florida. If Crist wants to bring up homeowners insurance he best check his own track record.
The Real Male Lion readying to soar.
I love that last photo. But let’s ready ourselves for what is about to happen in the 2024 Repub Primary which will be DeSantis vs Trump.
It took quite some time, I would say recent, for DeSantis to show his claws.
Does anyone here really think that Trump is going to be the Republican nominee after he is indicted by the Biden AG for crimes handed down by a DC grand jury?
“I’ve always believed that no officer’s life, regardless of rank, is of such great value to his country that he should seek safety in the rear…officers should be forward with their men at the point of impact.”
“All right, they’re on our left, they’re on our right, they’re in front of us, they’re behind us…they can’t get away this time”
“We’ve been looking for the enemy for some time now. We’ve finally found him. We’re surrounded. That simplifies the problem.”
“Hit hard, hit fast, hit often.” Just like the Dems do to us.
https://www.operationmilitarykids.org/best-chesty-puller-quotes-of-all-time/
Oorah! Take note of the first quote.
How’s that working out for the Russians?
Trump is not going to be indicted .
He may be indicted, but I would bet a lot of money he will never be convicted. They will make something up just to be able to use the word indicted in campaign ads.
This comment has nothing to do with Sundances’s post.
Thank you, Sundance!
It’s very revealing.
The real isue here, for me, is the fact that the Uniparty is not interested in electing DeSantis. What they really want is to divide us.
IMO, they’ve picked their next President, Gavin Newsome.
“DeSantis doesn’t send multiple, daily fundraising pitches to supporters. Recently his campaign went a month without sending a text message to potential donors who signed up to receive them.”
Pure BS ! I receive DeSantis Fundraising emails EVERY DAY month after month ad nauseum twice today
I get them all the time and I have never donated.
I haven’t seen one on the opposite corner of the country, but if, strike that, when, I do, my response will reference the Panty Raid and will net no funds for his ambitions.
I’ve donated to Trump, DeSantis, and Palin, and ever since I’m flooded with text messages from them, as well as, other candidates from outside the state in SC, TX, GA, etc. I reply STOP on all those and had to for Trump because at the end of the month my bill says over 200 text messages were received. I use a Flip Phone so it’s annoying.
One thing I’ll say is that the DeSantis texts are the most clever, especially those that were about the school boards who swept out leftists last Tuesday.
Just twice? You’re lucky! Since the “rebrand” I have been inundated with multiple texts and emails every day from DeSantis.
Look at the time i posted that comment.
I received a DeSantis text message a few days ago, out of the blue. My son did not. I’m registered Republican, he is registered non affiliated. I’ve never donated, so that tells me someone is going thru voter rolls.
Yep!
That is nothing, I receive 15-20 fundraising emails from Trump every day. It is so bad that every other day I have to search “Trump” and do a mass deletion just to unclutter my inbox. I have not donated anything to him in almost a year because I suspect every time you donate to him, you get one more daily email.
“I have not donated anything to him in almost a year because I suspect every time you donate to him, you get one more daily email.”
That is very funny 😀…you made me literally laugh out loud.
I think we can all relate. I get a lot from him too, but they mostly go to my junk email due to my evil email provider.
Are all Wall Street corporations, billionaires, and hedge fund managers the same?
Are they a monolithic bloc in their personal views, tastes, ambitions, backgrounds, and so forth?
Yes. They all know that all politicians can be bought, Dems are cheaper.
They are united in their desire to sell out America.
It may well be that another strategy to squeeze VSGPDJT out of ’24 is inflation: Using inflation to crush everyone but the uber-wealthy financially, since the small donors overwhelmingly donate to Trump.
Also more difficult to communicate, coordinate and effectively protest major societal issues at the grass roots level where ‘protesting’ isn’t being funded by deep pocket donors. Watching the daily protests in D.C. while TPC/1776 were there this year was an eye-opener.
Then, to combat inflation, those small donors work harder, buying the enemy more bombs and bullets and bioweapons to kill us with. Work harder, earn more incremental dollars, pay more taxes. Taxes = weapons used against us at all levels; social, legal, criminal, political, corporate. That’s what America is.
We have choices.
The American Dream becomes the American Nightmare!
When prez Trump announces his run- he will make others fundraising look like a pittance
Not if we are all broke and hungry.
A $5 donation from each of 200 million people is…a lot of money.
No 200 million would donate.
I remember in 2016 PDJT bragged, truthfully IMO, about how little his POTUS campaign cost and how the media, in their battles against him, gave him free advertising money would be hard-pressed to buy.
He showed a different path. In these harsh economic times creativity is imperative. Adapt and overcome.
He got genuine bang for his buck. He played them
President Trump will be running the show for a long time. With a single truth tweet he could hammer DeSantis into Cheneyland if he chooses, just like he did with Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush. He is many times more powerful now than he was in 2016, so don’t worry.
.
After he wins reelection as governor of Florida, where he’s needed. 😉
.
Ron who??
This guy reeks of establishment and deep state $$…one of McConnell’s “acceptable” candidates.
Well, we can take the trite saying you often see on “The Turnpike”
“Arrive Alive”.
And this is what we need to do…
We, “the forgotten men and women”….!!!
DeSantis is an unknown national product. He has proven himself for Florida, so in these times, he needs to stay in his lane, follow the speed limit and out of the service areas….he has also subtly shown us that we need to monitor him, closely.
Mr. Trump is a proven product and shows us that in this case, ‘ past performance is indicative of future results’.
“In basic terms, marketing is the process of identifying customer needs and determining how best to meet those needs. In contrast, advertising is the exercise of promoting a company and its products or services through paid channels. In other words, advertising is a component of marketing.”
Man, if we could just combine these two guys somehow…
Yeah, like, a MAGA Governor confronting the economic issues now bearing down on his state backing a MAGA President pissed and ready for payback and a no apologies war to rectify a hundred years of Communist damage.
Ron Deification Syndrome has already disqualified himself to be Trump’s VP after all.
I’m just a dumb hick who is thick as a brick, I don’t get ya
Okay, let’s try this:
The best possible synergy of these two men is for one to remain Governor of Florida and the other to return to the White House.
I get it now. Thank you for your patience
No worries!
DeSantis is the Corporate Republican Approved Version of Trump: vetted ahead of time by Mitch & Mitt.
If he ever gets to Washington he will Sell Us Down the River.
Indeed.
For in getting there he would have participated in ensuring there would be no Trump Term Two.
He would already be Brutus.
An apt description — “He would already be Brutus.” I’ve been thinking a lot about the Fall of the Roman Empire. Michael Walsh has a fantastic column about how “Our Democracy” needs a reset. He brings in the history and then queries everyone to think about what we can do.
“Roman democracy in the days of the Republic was a horse-trading racket which gradually broke down during the civil war between Sulla and Marius into a street thugocracy. Caesar’s attempt to yank the Republic back from the brink went down in a hail of knife thrusts on the Ides of March in 44 B.C. ”
Lots of similarities. Food for thought. Here: https://the-pipeline.org/the-column-our-democracy-needs-a-great-reset/
I was hooked with the first paragraph:
You know the American Republic is on its last legs when those trying to destroy it consistently refer to it as “our democracy,” which is exactly what it is not and what it was never intended to be.
I read the referenced Harvard Law Review article in full, terrifying.
So now I have a lot more reading to do! Thanks? 🙃
My young adult kids are struggling in these hard financial times.
I pointed out to them, that the commercial world of ‘consumerism’ is going to attack them via marketing and advertising and the rest of society, as ‘business’ is now heavily competing for a limited commodity…:
Their limited dollars to spend, with “discretion”. The competition for those dollars will be fierce.
My favorite go to is Apple, and they actually advertise very little as they have successfully marketed their product, the iphone brand, as one we need and it brings value to life…’we can’t live without it’. (Uh, yes we can…)…Apple advertises very little…they don’t have to.
Neither does Mr. Trump POTUS 45. Only Mr. Trump knows…as all, and I mean all successful big companies do research into buyer attitudes and trends, so they know how to shape their product and have it accepted by the consumer…
Transfer this business model to politics and the RINO’s, GOPe, etc…who let Mr. Trump do the heavy lifting of seriously identify the ‘customer needs’ of”We the People”, the forgotten men and women…they have essentially stolen his strong model and are tweaking on it?
I think these three directive articles show the delicately smooth transition towards advertising from marketing, the new unknown product….
Simply put, the three links, with over 1000’s responses…..
1.) shape shifting…
2.) what they want us to see…and believe
3.) trying to sell it to us.
Business is in business to make money. Am really wishing I pursued that MBA, but the lecture on ‘ethics in business’ (if its not illegal, do it, and if it is, do it if you think you can get away with it)….turned me off.
Buyer Beware. Or, keep it simple. Apologies for my frequent redundancies, but it is very basic…
Live your best life, as Sundance says….sand in the machinery or sandcastles…the choice is ours…
Wolverine Pancakes, anyone?
FYI: Be careful with Apple surveillance – they are at least monitoring if not watching. It all goes back to Big Brother for endless AI analysis.
I hope Sundance is wrong about money being used to manipulate DeSantis. I do, however, believe that money is very often a major problem in political elections and may often be “legalized bribes.” All big donors should be banned from contributions including self funding campaigns of millionaires and billionaires. Unpaid volunteers going from door to door should be the way to communicate the political stance of candidates.
The Book of Proverbs issued this warning three thousand years ago:
The wicked accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the ways of justice.
So, in other words, only wealthy people who can survive on small donors should run for office? Anyone who can’t do that is automatically suspect?
No. It shows you, however, that DeSantis has almost no grassroots support. It also shows you who is pulling his strings.
Whether he gets if if or when he announces for ‘24 is another question.
When Trump came down the escalator he had almost no grassroots support either, all he had was name recognition. However, via his America First policies, the grassroots grabbed ahold.
So far DeSantis has shown no populist economic tendencies.
Time will tell, but best to keep a sharp eye.
SunnyDance, I don’t really doubt you are right again, this time about RDS. But one in our position has to hope that after Trump someone will be standing for us, even if they got there by taking a few golden tickets along the way. Can we not have a ‘decepticon’ into our side. Can they never align with MAGA, even after playing the game to get inserted into the game by GOPe. RDS, it seems to me, might be that rare gem. But alas, maybe Trump can get hold of the reigns long enough to clean things up and make it possible for an RDS to turn full MAGA. Thanks for the consideration.
.
DeSantis cannot do MAGA except in Trump’s wake. 2028. Meanwhile, he needs to be reelected Florida governor, and we have to concentrate on bigger things.
.
I want no decepticons in the MAGA camp…that’s exactly what the problem is. You’re sent to the polls with a clothesline clip to your nose and a blinder on one eye; “Here, vote for me ‘cause I’m not as bad as the other guy.” NO DECEPTICONS allowed.
Bernard Marcus is hardly a problem. He is an outspoken conservative who supported President Trump.
Griffin… well, him I don’t like.
Maybe trump needs to get rid of Larry Fink as his campaign chair. The Champion of The People doesn’t look good in that Fink fur coat and it as cutting into the campaign fund raising with DeSantis actually walking the talk.
That is disturbing.
And they say it like it’s a bad thing …. or something …
Trump White House Pressured FDA to Reauthorize Hydroxychloroquine: Congressional Report
If MAGA doesn’t pull a rabbit out of the hat, in the election of 2022, the right side of the UniParty, will be on every mic stating Trump Maga can’t win. They did this to Goldwater. They told everyone grassroots can’t get people elected, we need to let the experts decide. Karl Rove with the “I told you so” b.s. MAGA has already proven we don’t need much money, but MAGA does need volunteers at every level. Watching all places of voting, helping campaigns, donating.
A straight, Republican, white guy with an Italian last name cannot be elected president. It’s possible (and unlikely) he may get the R nomination. And not win the general election. The Dims and their media allies would savage him…I can hear the claims of Mafia connections now…and his RC allegiance to Rome.
Ken Griffin is the guy who put up millions for Richard Irvin in Illinois to stop Darren Bailey, then pulled the plug when it was certain that Irvin was going to lose. I’m sure he’ll be just as loyal to DeSantis if he gets behind.
Trump 2024,
Thanks for this, Sundance, you win. The facts have changed my mind. Removing the Deep State is the #1 issue at the national level, and it’s the takeover of the three branches by the fourth branch that is the primary problem. Trump gets closest to disrupting the takeover. DeSantis is better than most as the Florida governor, but is far behind Trump on the main national issue: the Deep State has completely taken over the Federal Government as you’ve pointed out time and again. The fourth branch is the source of the problem, and Trump has taken on the correct enemies. Thanks for the reminder, and apologies if I doubted Trump’s efficacy.
Brilliant! Thank you!
This article was very helpful to me to put words and explanation to objective differences between the men, and policy they project. Thank you!
Ever since that tacky “Top Gov” DeSantis commercial came out earlier this week, a certain individual who resides in Florida has not mentioned it nor talked about it at all on his podcast or radio show. That person is Dan Bongino.
.
I’m not sure this necessarily says anything. I’m not a huge fan of Bongino (I think he was more talented as a cop and secret service agent than pundit), but sometimes ignoring is a good way to diminish what’s seeking publicity.
.
Maybe, maybe not.
Trump had his biggest day of fundraising, ever, after the raid and he’s not even officially running yet. Besides, did all that money help Jeb!? Please clap.
!Jeb! only paid $50M an electoral vote……a bargain for a modern Bush
Three convention delegates, that is what $100 million bought John Ellis Bush.
Kenneth C. Griffin was the biggest RINO in Chicago and him moving from Chicago to Maimi is bad news for MAGA voters in Florida.
For example. Kenneth C. Griffin never donated to Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and he currently has donated $1.5 million to Lisa Murkowski through Alaskans for L.I.S.A. (Leadership in a Strong Alaska).
It is troubling to learn Kenneth C. Griffin has already donated millions of dollars to DeSantis considering Griffin’s consistent donations to RINOs in his entire life so far.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_C._Griffin
We don’t need to get into a “circular firing squad” over President Trump and what Gov. DeSantis did or didn’t do in regards to the Mara Lago Gestapo raid. Or whether or not the Governor is a company man or RNC acolyte, there should be no doubt about it, he is, at least for now.
One of loudest cries on these boards; “do you want see Crist win the governor’s race? NO!” If Gov. DeSantis is worried about Crist and he’d like to slam Crist into liberal uniparty oblivion become MAGA and have President Trump working on your behalf, his problem would be solved. You want to guarantee it, get rid of Dominion. Sadly, none of the Red State governors have gotten rid the cheat system, I wonder why?
But for whatever reason (McConnell whispering in his ear for the RNC “toe the company line son”) Gov. DeSantis is playing it cagey, because he’s not his own man, yet. A three term congressman you can bet your bottom dollar the swamp rats have their claws in him, some way somehow and he will do what he is told.
If he does step on the field with President Trump he will be bowled over like the 17 that flailed against our VSGDJT in 2016 and at 43 years old, ruin your future as a politician. Just like in 2016 he will have the entire enemy MSM will have assembled panels going 24/7 in his corner. Karl Rove will be doing white boards feverously, telling us what the latest BS poll says.
A little free advice for Gov. DeSantis. Do as your masters tell you, for optics, but understand President Trump will finish his course, because he is not done, and son, you don’t have a chance against President Trump. Once he clears the way perhaps in 2028 you can be your own man, speak clearly against the corrupt club in DC aka the swamp and stop with the mealy mouth swamp double speak. But, I know you’re just doing what you’re told.
We’ll see.
Note: Jeb another FL. Gov. had amassed the biggest war chest in 2016 and we were told that the 17 geldings were best field of Republican candidates ever assembled. Don’t be Jeb.
And all of it got Jeb 3 delegates – epic fail.
I’m old enough to remember low energy Jeb being touted as the greatest force for conservatism as guv of FLA. As a non Floridian, I bought into the hype to an extent, and thought low energy Jeb was the answer during those early years. Jeb’s true colors were masked by seeming successes on state issues and the loud voices on the Left excoriating him. I learned to be very diligent after this experience with low energy Jeb.
Griffin only in the last few months announced his move from Chicago to the Miami area, and has spent close to a $1B to acquire property to relocate, so a donation now to DeSantis is good business. DeSantis did a great job with the Covid tyranny pushed by Biden. But DeSantis biggest weakness is economic policy, or the lack thereof. Foreign policy also. If DeSantis does NOT denounce TPP and all things like it, and proclaim America First he is toast as far as MAGA. I’m not interested in voting for an updated version of Dubya or Jeb Bush. Of course, the standard GOPe plan will be to make DeSantis the better of two evils and force people to vote for DeSantis. Hence the UniParty effort to eliminate PDJT.
Then I’ll write in “Trump” or leave it blank. And people go around saying, “You can’t do that; do you want the Demoncrats to keep the White House?” Fix things on a State level first, and make the Fugs irrelevant.
Get a Republican majority in the House, boot McCarthy out, put in a MAGA Speaker, and impeach the Demons that occupy the President and VP seats currently
The more DeSantis vs Trump talk, the more effective the “Bad Guys” wedge intention of divide and conquer. Anyway, by the time 2024 comes around there will be others joining the Republican Presidential spot-light such as Kari Lake etc.
The one and only critical issue is election fraud and getting the only one with the experience, competence, leadership to save America for the American people. Right now, it is either Donald Trump or this whole thing continues down the shitter.
I don’t think DeSantis/Trump discussion is at all productive and in fact damaging serving no purpose but to hinder the process, and progress required for MAGA. There is a lot of “dumb” out there and DeSantis vs Trump being one of them.
Ok here we go for Ron any clearer ? – talks like Ted and funded like JeB – 2016 2.0 – I agree with analysis , he will follow JeB on Gope/ / national corporate policies without batting an eye – but will be marketed as “Rock Ribbed MAGA” and his team / advisors waiting/hoping (?) for the other Mara Lago events to drop -perhaps ….I fully agree also -stay as good Governor, get re-elected for Florida – but his eyes are on the prize and Top Gov is locked in on that target ~ Remember he has run or tried to run ( Rubio Senate seat abortive attempt 2015 -) for 3 offices in less than 10 years – fast tracked and ambitious , the old saying “you can’t keep a good politician down on the farm when he smells the roses ….” Or something like that…
DeSantis isn’t MAGA.
so we have WEF Wall street money vs MAGA Main street money
its too easy to identify which side each one plays for !
maybe this will wake up more people !
Interesting that WEF, Wall Street, and woke CEOs and tech are the ones DeSantis just recently called out as trying to take over…

DeSantis stance, or lack of, foreign policy is a big one. One of the reasons Liz Cheney and the NeoCons fought so hard for Hillary is she promised endless interventions for the military industrial complex to feed off of. Trump ruined that party by bringing peace everywhere for 4 years, which made him an ‘existential threat’ to the war mongers of the UniParty.
oh man… enough already. As of now neither PDJT nor Desantis is running for President. They have much more to gain as allies then enemies. To date Desantis hasn’t done anything wrong. Was it not PDJT who signed those omnibus packages? So lets stop saying Desantis is not good for Florida’s economy. Nobody would be moving there if the economy was horrendous. Feel maybe someone running this site got rejected by Desantis and is now just throwing shade.
Ooohhh ‘ throwing shade ‘ such a trendy term …enough said …
Like Dana Loesch with “Sus”(suspect) and “Legit”.. I can’t stand it.
DeSantis, as a Congressman, voted to fast track TPP -That is the antithesis of being America First.
That vote, as well as his GOPe donors, tell a tale. The current economy of Florida is irrelevant.
More proof that DeSantis supporters choose to remain in denial.
Another TPP supporter was Ted Cruz.
Yes, 2016 Cruzbots are Sanibots.
The 2016 election was all about there is no more R vs D just UniParty Wall Street vs Main Street.
It is still true today.
How’s that Battered Conservative Syndrome working out for Conservatives ?
Sundance does it again. Analysis and facts. Sundance leads us to water. All you have to do is drink. You Decepticon RINO commenters can give it a rest for awhile and concentrate on Wall Street.
Sundance also gave thumbs up to Pence back in the day when PDJT chose him as a running mate.. So while I enjoy reading and learning from his articles I do not just take everything written as 100%. Until PDJT or Desantis actually show their true colors for one another or Desantis governs like a RINO or lefty i’ll consider them both outstanding individuals for their roles.
With the tons of people fleeing democrat states and going to Florida it will be blue before too long. Their politics are just like their furniture, they bring it with them.
So da-n true unfortunately, but it depends entirely on the specific demographics of movement – if many fleeing Dem cities – they can afford to move – that is most likely a Dem voting preference and it is still in the top draw of their bureau wherever that bureau happens to be .
Nope.
Not true. I left WA last year and seriously considered moving to Florida but opted to move to a red state with a huge RINO Governor to be close to family. As an aside, life is incredibly better and I am beyond thankful for Sundance’s reminder to “live my best life” which was the last push I needed to go.
But I digress…my long winded point is there are thousands like me who fled to places like Florida for sanity and safety. We are all voting MAGA. If you looked at my license plates or all of my past addresses you would erroneously think I was some nut job liberal. Instead, I am the complete opposite.
You make my point , I think , demographics the key – you TOOK your voting preference WITH you , didn’t change because of which State you moved to for whatever reason ….BTW Go up to New Canaan CT , the whole of West Side / Tribeca etc have moved up there -NY plates – Dem city voters – Makes Ct bluer but affects local races too …
My point, though, is there are many “red” voters in “blue” cities and states…So you can’t tell how someone votes just by looking at where they came from.
My mom is from NYC but has never voted D in her entire life. I grew up in MA, went to school in the DC area and lived in DC, MD and VA, moved back to MA, then Seattle. I have never voted D either. My dad is from a liberal, urban area in MA, never voted D. I also am lucky that I could afford to move but that doesn’t make me a liberal Democrat.
She was a rare species in NYC -5×1 Dem to Rep …red state people are not moving to blue cities , by choice , and if do they are just are a trickle …will not affect blue states …there are still people that believe they can turn a blue state red – never happen
Still missing point you didn’t change your religion because you moved and you didn’t change voting preference , that goes for 99.900% of people that move somewhere else …
The best that could be said about this –
At least DeSantis’ big donors do not object to DeSantis’ tough stands on
-child predation by Disney (a really big powerful corporation)
-Fauci and the establishment agency, big hospital and big pharma-corporation centered pandemic response.
-illegals and human trafficking
-schools, school boards, etc.
and a host of other hot issues.
–
sure doesnt sound like GOPe
they are not objecting to this fluff
to gain our confidence and support.
its too obvious
Couldnt disagree more Sundance. The wokeness is driving people over the edge, it reflects the breakdown of society and craziness of the Dems. DeSantis knows the groundswell of anger at having our right to free movement taken away and being forced to take jab. He was fighting for us while Trump was pushing HIS jab. Trump is one of those fellows that can not admit he made a collosal mistake. If he still thinks the jabs are the greatest then I have to question where he gets his info from? Surely not fake news?
Not too many people don’t have a family member who was killed by the lack of readily available treatments, being forced to go back home and spread covid until they were so bad had to be put on ventilators, “death sentence”……. DeSantis doesn’t talk in circles, just calmly goes for the source. DeSantis doesn’t seem to have a problem surrounding himself with loyal people who aren’t carrying a brief case of knives.
Remember all your RdS love when independents abandon your candidate in droves.
Reality Check : There is no more R vs D.
There is ONLY UniParty Wall Street vs Main Street.
Like it or not DeSantis is UniParty Wall Street.
As you experience the 5 stages of grief eventually you will arrive at acceptance.
Trump MUST admit he failed to remove Fauci when involvement in Wuhan lab was discovered and MUST admit his faith in the clot shot was a mistake.
Otherwise, even if elected, he will fail again because he hasn’t learned.
And why do you think Trump had any control over removing the USA’s foremost expert on pandemics? Exactly what legal grounds would you use if it was you in charge?
Fauci direct involvement in the wuhan lab made him at mininum, suspect of conflict of interest in accurately determining origin of wuflu. That was enough by itself. Fauci’s effort to stop use of HCQ/Zn in order to justifyemergency use authorization of clot shot is manslaughter at the least. All this was clear by July 2020.
The best defense for PDJT is for Fauci to be put on the witness stand.
When Trump urges people to get vaccinated = Orange Man Bad among the “MAGA” crowd.
But when DeSantis does the same thing = DeSantis is a fighter for the little man!!
DeSantis urges public to get vaccinated: These shots are ‘saving lives’
https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/564249-desantis-urges-public-to-get-vaccinated-these-shots-are-saving-lives/
The only thing that explains this hypocrisy is lots of people drinking the MSM koolaid.
“corporate republicanism”
That’s an oxymoron.
