The goal of gaining public acceptance for eating insects instead of meat is now part of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) effort. The larger climate change objective is to “transition” the global food supply away from cows, pigs and chickens, and toward a more sustainable lifestyle of eating insects and bugs. Farmers in North American and Europe are facing massive regulatory changes as part of the Build Back Better or Green New Deal initiatives.
In the U.S. Joe Biden has pledged his entire administration effort toward the goal of reducing U.S. carbon emissions and protecting the planet. Part of that initiative includes the need to change the diet of Americans away from traditional farm proteins, and toward sustainable alternatives via bugs and/or insects like cockroaches, crickets and grasshoppers.
A comprehensive marketing, branding and image campaign is underway to change the public perception toward an acceptance of sustainable algae and bugs as food sources. Public Broadcasting (PBS) is part of that imitative:

Several U.S. food manufacturers now include insects and bugs as part of their ingredient list. It would be worthwhile checking the labels on the latest snack foods to identify the percentages of worms and bugs that may be included in your favorite salted snack.
Additionally, a significant investment has taken place in Canada where they are now generating 9,000 metric tons of crickets to replace traditional protein sources (link). The public/private partnership in London, Ontario, is now shipping crickets for use by North American food manufacturers. There has been minimal public pushback against the effort and the government appears to be fast-tracking insects as food alternatives for global shortages of grain and meats.
In the United Kingdom, the government is now taking public feedback on the use of insects in the food supply. According to a recent public notification from the U.K. Food Standards Agency, they are working toward an acceptable standard across the industry for insects and worms in the food supply.
From the notification: “A consultation on a proposed legislated transitional period under the novel food regulations for edible insects in England, Scotland and Wales. The proposal has been developed with input from Food Standards Scotland (FSS).” (more)

As farmland across Europe and North America increasingly comes under enhanced “climate change” regulation from government, we can expect the speed of food supply transitioning to insects to increase exponentially.
There are a lot of government resources [EXAMPLE HERE] now dedicated to changing public perception. The western government alliance wants people to start eating bugs, and, more importantly, want people comfortable doing so as the energy and climate regulations increasingly limit food options.

With PBS now joining the chorus of insect food promotion; and with the increasingly discussed pending global food shortage now looming; it would appear that western leaders are following the advice from the World Economic Forum and preparing their citizens in Europe and North America to accept insects as food.
As noted earlier, you may already be eating the insects and just not be aware of it. Apparently, people who are allergic to shellfish should be more concerned and diligent about the ingredients of the food they consume, as insects may generate the same allergic reaction.
.
I’m not sure how everyone feels about this new effort to make bugs into food for humans, but everything about it seems weird. I will not be eating the bugs, worms, slugs, crickets, or any other creepy crawling critter regardless of “protein transfer efficiency.” Nope. Not happening.
Conduct your informed affairs accordingly.
The issue for me is not actually the bugs…….I read about the nutritious value of bugs many years ago.
My issue is that there will be cows and pigs….its just that YOU wont be able to have them……..well unless you are the top 1%….
THEY tell YOU…….. YOU must obey!
That is a very big issue for me.
Dittos. I don’t see the DC elites cowing down on bugs. It’s a big issue with me, too.
“Let them eat Bugs.
‘Bugs and Circus’s”
I ate a withchity Grum in Alice Springs. It was the size of my thumb cvhased with a big shot of Tobasco. I must admit in all honesty. It sucked. The Indigenous folks thought I was the only gringo on the tour with Bollo’s! It was woth the photo op. No more insects for me unless it’s bait.
Only the globalist pigs will be eating animal protein.
I believe that these alternative sources of protein need to be the on the main menu of every government cafeteria and in the vending machines in government buildings in America. It will a great stimulus effort to encourage people to support local fast food restaurants. In fact, let’s give government workers comps on a percentage or ratio basis based upon the percentage of bugs, worms and insects eaten during meal breaks. If you eat 100% bugs, worms and insects in your lunch or break, you get 100% comp. 50% gets you 50% comp. I bet it it will reduce the public employee workforce even more efficiently than budget cuts and reductions! And, all public employees, especially federal, must possess a consumption scorecard, signed by a witness, in order to remain employed. In fact, a great incentive program would be to have merit pay based on the weighed volume of bugs, worms and insects consumed on a quarterly basis, based upon a weigh in/weigh out monitoring program.
That my friend is an excellent idea… If only
While I like where your head is at, government workers would stuff their faces with crap burgers if office policy told them to.
Now I’m getting the picture of why there are so few sparrows working the bugs anymore! Now if only I could find a way to use my fly tying hobby to make more money!
Bug farms present their own bio safety problems and it does not appear anyone has even begun to consider them.
The bacteria and viruses associated with both the insect gut and that grow on processed insects are different from those associated with other food sources. I can find no specific FDA regulations or standards for raising, processing, or storing either live or processed bugs for food.
We are constantly exposed to all sorts of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites that are all around us, and our immune systems are designed to cope with those small amounts of exposure. However, what happens if a processed bug product exposes a large part of our population to a huge viral or bacterial load that our immune systems are not designed to deal with?
The idea of simply shifting the human diet to a new food source without fully studying its potential dangers is breathtakingly irresponsible and outright dangerous. The people currently in charge are crackpots, and it is only a matter of time before they trigger a massive disaster.
But then, these are the same crew who outsourced their deeply irresponsible Gain of Function covid virus research to a sloppily run bio lab in Wuhan, and then lied about it when their Frankenstein viruses escaped and disaster struck. What could possibly go wrong with FORCING everyone to eat bugs?
Luckily for them, they also happen to want to dramatically reduce the world population.
Exactly
One just has to look at China
They will have Climate Emergency and all of this will have an EUA… probably starts next week.
Is it time yet for non-compliance?
Hemmmm, Nothing to worry about. They’ll have a vaccine for any of that Lickety Split. Now roll up your sleeve and eat your Bugs!
I am not so sure the escape of Covid 19 in China was accidental. While they did go to extremes to contain it their, they put it on every plane leaving China, especially those headed to the US.
That last part makes the first part moot.
China ‘weaponized’ the virus.
They made sure there were a lot of Wuhan Wu’s and sent them out to spread the disease.
Baric and Fauci weaponized it. China did the wet work and then released it.
Not accidental.
Stunningly, our bureaucratic government was funding it.
It is not a flaw or oversight. I am sure it is by design.
They’re also the same ones who said the answer to going bankrupt was “print more money.”
ZERO concept of cause and effect.
Once you have actually seen, up close, the parasites that live and thrive in insects, you can never UNSEE them. Your comment is an excellent one.
“…breathtakingly irresponsible and outright dangerous…” and exactly what they want.
Lungworm in snails/slugs is passed on to many animals, including cats and dogs.
knowing how and what insects you can eat can save your life.
but it’s a survival thing, not a full time thing.
John the baptist lived on a diet of locust and honey. First of all, locust are kosher and honey is a natutal antibiotic. As for me, pass the chicken wings! And tater salad, bbq pork, and grilled burgers.
I thought bugs were not kosher – but maybe locusts don’t fit under the definition of whatever the exact wording is for bugs in the Torah ???
Locust is the only insect which is considered kosher. Specific extracts in the Torah state that four types of desert locust – the red, the yellow, the spotted grey, and the white – can be eaten.Mar 21, 2013

My dad learned how to survive off bugs during his training for deployment to Da Nang.
He didn’t like it at all. He showed me some of the books until he tossed them all and instead focused his attention to the BBQ and my mom’s fine dry rubbed meats and Hawai’ian style chicken teriyaki ( we were living in Pearl at the time).
I agree with him. The BBQ at our home was always the best, IMHO.
OK. he also BBQ’d oysters… yum!
Aint happening cat daddy. I will stick with my pork, chicken, beef, fish, shrimp. YOU eat the bugs Mufasa
They will see to it that there’s nothing to buy at the grocery store–no pork, no chicken, no beef, no shrimp. You’ll learn to eat bugs, or you’ll have to survive on Hostess Twinkies.
These goons mean business. And Woke Capital will back them up to the max. Produce your own veggies or learn to eat the bugs or the Twinkies.
Saw that problem coming. Solved it by buying poultry and small livestock and making friends with cattle farmers.
I will eat the bugs…if my fillet ate them first.
You will eat them in your Twinkies.
WEF/WHO New product: Peanut Bugger.
.
I wouldn’t have a problem with a few fried crickets as a side dish along with my steak.
.
A platter of blooming crickets w/chipotle sauce. Eyeballs optional.
I had a pet chameleon when I was in elementary school. I fed him live crickets. I didn’t like doing it, but he would have died if I hadn’t.
I can’t believe a few decades later the government wants me to eat the same thing I fed my chameleon. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.
Now think. You kept your chameleon in a cage and crickets were the only option to keep from starving.
What are the going to do to people to make it OUR only option?
I doubt Soros eats bugs.
Do they serve bugs at the cafeteria when the Davos Cabal gets together? The EU Parliament in Brussels? The IMF HQ?
The catering should refuse them steaks etc and give them bugs as the only option. Or maybe someone should do a swap in the supply chain, before the food arrives at Davos…??
It can be arranged. No need to tell them…yet.
There’s going to be a new movie and a new French dish. Instead of ratatouille they are going to have Cricketouille. They are bringing back Jiminy Cricket from Disney
Look at him, who knows what that MF’er eats!
.
On a more serious note, as someone above mentioned, bugs don’t have fat. We need good sources of fat. Essential in the diet (and the “low fat” that has been pushed in recent decades is arguably a major reason for a lot of the population’s overweight and ill health). Very difficult to get good saturated fats without eating animals.
.
Grubs
.
You’re right… I suppressed my gag reflex and “googled” : are grubs a good source of fat.
Never mind the answer (yes) but the results that were returned… Oh yeah, the push is on… and all about how delicious etc.
.
That made me nauseous.
Avocadoes
Guacamockroach
I seem to recall a
revolution started somewhere and lots of people lost their heads just because some hoity toity celebrity said, “Let them eat cake”.
When I was a kid, my pet tarantula Jane Fonda ate crickets. I never joined her for dinner. That will not change.
I’ll eat bugs as soon as I see those in the Imperial Capital give up their foie gras and eat the bugs. Can Joe Biden eat ‘ice cream’ made from bugs?
They want us to eat bugs. I say F you and kiss my azz.
But there must be “bug-free” snacks on planes for the safety of bug allergy travelers.
Cream of Wheat will have to change its anti-bug advertising campaign:
http://www.jumpingfrog.com/images/magazineads6/mgd8303.jpg
I am NOT eating bugs.
Not Now. Not Ever.
FJB
Interestingly, there is very little to no more discussion on the science behind claims that increased CO2 levels precede historical increases in global temps. The idea that this is settled science has been won by the Green ideology regardless of what historical ice core samples prove as opposite.
Let them eat bugs!
You can bet that the “Build Back Burglar” won’t be eating bugs. Sniffy was called that by a writer on American Thinker.
Id prefer the bugs eat these Communist psychos.
God forgive me, but I do really, really hate these people. With passion.
Good idea!
Jiminy Cricket! It really bugs me how these do-gooders worm their way into EVERYTHING!
We ought to compost ’em.
NOT HAPPENING I WILL NEVER EAT BUGS OF ANY KIND
I LOVE MY BEEF FISH AND CHICKEN
And when there’s a bug shortage then what? Aren’t they critical to all eco systems?
Make sure the people at PBS are eating the insects first
PBS ought to do a live cooking show where the Chefs demonstrate with living crickets how to make a scrumptious meal and then eat it on live camera.
I literally gag at the thought of eating bugs! Nope Nada!!
Here’s my favorite bug recipe.
Step one: Feed the bugs to chickens.
Step two: Eat the chickens.
Yum.
Something few folks realize. Chickens are omnivores. Chickens hunt. I’ve watched my girls wait patiently at a mole run for the little bugger to reappear, then snatch him up and peck him to death before chowing down. I’ve watched them gang up on a mouse and play it to death before devouring it. They have ganged up on snakes and pecked and scratched them until the snake had enough and left, bloody and tattered. Chickens will also kill and eat their own if they have a diseased, strange looking, or runty flock member. That’s not a pretty sight, but it happens (I’ve had it happen three times in 21 years.)
So what happens when we consume so many insects, they become extinct?
Well the tastiest and most nutritious of bugs will be off limits to us and forbidden. Anyone caught harvesting, eating those bugs will be immediately thrown in a gulag. You will eat dirt.
No one has thought that far ahead. There is already a move to rid us of CO2. That little number only costs us one of the important components of photosynthesis, which ALL growing plants need. End of farming and the beginning of worldwide famine.
This was all planned by the WEF socialists who learned this drivel at the knee of liberal commie profs at our institutes of higher learning.
No plants – then what are the bugs supposed to eat?
Yeah, why do greenhouses have CO2 generators if it’s bad for plants and the planet? These axholes think we are so stupid.
When you’re really hungry, you’re not picky. That’s the idea. You must be poor, dark, cold and hungry. That’s the goal and has been for decades.
WEF’s plan to humiliate the rest of humanity into submission in order to dominate them.
Just like the jab. NO
The faster they can derail the food and energy sectors the better.
Hunger is the ultimate motivator!
Maybe people will get off their fat arses and learn that these things are only fixed by us.
I think they can piss off. I am not going to eat bugs.
How ironic. Sinclair’s “The Jungle” exposed the lethally unsanitary and unhealthful state of the meat-packing industry, which led to a public outcry and the making of the FDA. 120 years later, we have a shill for the US government pushing the notion that we should (and will) be eating insects to “save the planet.”
What unadulterated horse manure and grotesquely conceited inflation of human self-importance.
There are a lot of liberal democrats who will eat bugs just because a liberal democrat told them to. I highly doubt that Bill Gates and Klaus Schwab will be eating bugs.
Nope!
Viva 🇲🇽 Mexico!!!
CUT THE CORD!!
FMX! Fentanylico expedites the invasion of my country and permits the cartels to operate with carte blanche dealing death to my countrymen. FMX! The cord has been cut.
This Administration is relentless in destroying the American way of life.
The only good thing this administration has done for me is make me glad I’m old.
The coming food shortages are designed to transition us to eating bugs. The WEF Moto is “if they are hungry enough they will eat bugs”.
If they are hungry enough there might just be a full blown rebellion.
I agree. I’m certain that TPTB will repeat their mantra: Bugs for thee but not for me. Their greed and deception knows no bounds.
And soon the gub’mint will remove the requirement for food labels, so as to ‘hide the bugs’.
We will be eating bug twinkies and we won’t even know it.
“Gub’mint” should read “Grub’mint.”
I am starting to think that this Klaus Schwab guy is the German version of Jim Jones.
Bingo! These people are suicidal lunatics.
Our government has gone full Pol Pot.
The killing fields comes next. They control the media so the public will never even see it. I see the writing on the wall. These lunatics will not take their foot off the gas pedal. At some point we will have to fight for our lives. They think Earth belongs to them. We are just in the way.
They are coordinating this push with the fertilizer and resulting corn shortage, and drought. The ranchers are depleting their herds now due to those things, and it would be years before herds could be brought back to those levels. The government has avoided the need to copy Holland so far, by forbidding the breeding of animals, and seizure of farms, but it’s coming.
We had better form militias before we reach that point. Gov goons only understand one thing. The gov cowards will have to face desperate armed people protecting their lives instead of soccer moms protesting CRT.
Maybe insects will be the next thing that supposedly tastes like chicken. 🤷♂️ That’s not really a departure farther from “you’ll own nothing and be happy”.
Looking at the ingredients list, end of second line, it looks like they used bugs as flour.
Organic Cricket Flour
You know, that might help me swear off organic foods too.
But it is listed as the 5th ingredient of the puff. Last. <20%. Corn, lentil, fava bean and rice flours all precede it.
Does it have any utility as a flour, or is it just a way to hide that they stuck in crickets?
What if they stop listing it? Could you ever figure out if they put ground crickets in anything? It is not just pretend meat you have to worry about, but the bun you put it in. Will it be used as a thickener like in a roux?
PB&J, grilled cheese, … Always check the bread.
Soups, stews, cheese sauces, check the noodles and the thickeners.
Even Roast beef often has flour on it.
If it has to be put as an allergen, it will be easier to check, but still painful.
We are going to start seeing it everywhere. In all sorts of odd places. Used in many more ways than just crunchy bugs.
People buy any store-made bread. For years we’ve read labels fastidiously. DATEM is one of the ingredients that we have avoided like the plague:
FTA: ‘Here’s where DATEM gets interesting: it is considered “safe” by the FDA (like all of the other ingredients above) however a study has come out that challenges that finding. A study in 2002 done on rats showed that DATEM caused “heart muscle fibrosis and adrenal overgrowth.”‘

Make your own, folks. It’s time consuming and, heaven knows we don’t have enough time in the day, but health is wealth.
The amount of parasites in bugs is actually worse than raw sushi.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6613697/
I see “UK Premier” on the PBS picture.
In fact, Wales is already using school children as the canaries in the coal mine, putting bugs on the school menus to see if they will be “receptive “.
I don’t know about the children, but I can tell you their parents in Mid Wales, where these particular schools are will not be.
This experiment was announced and introduced a few months back. Had it been a roaring success, I guarantee we would have heard all about it. But we have heard nothing. Not a peep.
In other words, crickets.
“it tastes like”
is always a warning flag to me to just stick with the original and take a hard pass on “tastes like”.
turkey bacon
chocolate flavored syrup
oat milk
imitation crab meat
“white” fish
come on man. just pass the 10 hour slo and lo brisket and nobody gets hurt
No Repubs ever get rid of PBS–or transform it into a conservative media. The reason the Left keeps winning is because they’re stronger, smarter, and more determined than we are. So no reason to claim that things don’t make sense. In fact, it’s hard to find anything that doesn’t make sense.
“Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” Mao Zedong.
Who watches or listens to PBS? Only people from the same tribe.
They are slightly better than CNN and MSNBC.
But YOU get the bill. That is the problem.
Yes, the vast majority of folks who watch PBS, CNN, NBC, et al are from the demo-commie tribe and live in la la land. However, even the core zealots and brain dead need to have their beliefs sustained.
Plus, as Alligator Gar states … the galling part is that it is done via our tax dollars.
“Pandering TO and shilling FOR the Left grows out of a barrel of stinking ideologies.” FIFY
They (the leftards) have unlimited financial resources and have the backing of LE and Gov. They are not stronger or smarter. You’re telling me the purple haired butch queen with a ring in her nose like a pig and a degree in black studies is stronger and smarter than the average conservative? How did you come up with this pile of manure?
Counterstrike:
God didn’t make all these different animals for us to not eat them as a normal diet. No mask. No jab. No bugs. Would rather be taken up into heaven.
I WILL NOT EAT BUGS!
They think the Edible Insect is us.
Sorry, satan. Not today–or ever.
You haven’t tried my bug-loaf…. it’s to die for!
Needs more RAID!
Or my meal worm burger…it’s a bit bland, so needs dousing with bug leg- and rodent hair-laden ketchup.
Got the burger recipe from a restaurant in Geneva, where they serve them.
Since we can’t trust the federal government to do anything wholesome for the country, we need to work at the state level, take a page from the California Nanny State playbook, and require any processed food made with insect or worm protein be identified as such in big letters on the label next to the product name, and also on restaurant menus that use such ingredients.
Let’s see how they do in the marketplace with a label “Contains Insect or Worm Protein”.
