During a CNN segment Deese is challenged by the 85% disapproval and he ignores the opposition from the American people by saying the White House needs to “remind people as we go through this period” where energy costs are skyrocketing because climate change goals are unsustainable, during this economic “transition” they have made other progress. The Biden policymakers have a fantasy that green energy systems, which cannot cover costs even in a booming economy without massive taxpayer subsidy, will somehow become viable (without subsidy) as high fossil energy prices cause our economy to collapse.
This is so contrary to economic principles that it really is astounding that this Deese character can be chairman of the National Economic Council. It is fantasists all the way down and all the way up.
A good starting point for grasping basic economic principles is to look at each living creature is an economic unit. If it isn’t profitable in the sense of bringing in at least as much as much sustenance as it consumes then it withers and dies. If it brings in more than it expends then it grows.
Individual people and businesses are economic units in this same basic way. If they don’t bring in more than they spend, they wither and die.
The total size of an economy is analogous the total size of a planet’s biosphere. It is sum of all of those individual living units that have found a way to live at a particular point in time.
In the biosphere there is an explosion of life forms that get their sustenance directly from the sun (flora), or indirectly from the sun (fauna), plus there seem to be a few forms of bacteria that are able to survive by converting heat from undersea vents into cellular energy.
Thinking that our economy can survive the removal of fossil fuels by switching to “green energy” is akin to thinking that earth’s biosphere could survive the removal of our sun by switching to undersea vent energy.
Some people and businesses will survive, just as a few strains of bacteria might still be able to live around ocean vents, but the vast majority of existing economic units (people and businesses) would have no way to live going forward (no way to bring in more than they need to expend to survive) and would die off, just as would happen with planetary life forms without the sun.
We could use nuclear. That’s a plenty efficient energy source that could easily power and even double or quadruple our entire electric grid in fairly short order, but like fossil fuels nuclear energy is also unacceptable to the green religionists who have usurped our government, and the reason is very simple.
Green religion sees people as the problem. They WANT the vast majority of people to die.
We didn’t ask for it, we don’t want it, we’re against it, and they’re going to shove it down our throats anyway, because that’s how things are done now.
