During a CNN segment Deese is challenged by the 85% disapproval and he ignores the opposition from the American people by saying the White House needs to “remind people as we go through this period” where energy costs are skyrocketing because climate change goals are unsustainable, during this economic “transition” they have made other progress. Proposing amendments to the Constitution at a Convention of the States is the only option to fix things, since the Senate, being the root of all corruption and protector of the deep state, will never approve an amendment repealing the 17th amendment. The founders of the republic gave the states this option because they new the day would arrive when the federal government, including the Congress, became corrupted and abusive and would need to be reformed. It’s preferable to civil war and it’s high time for the states to take back what is theirs.
Even then it will take 38 states to ratify any new amendments. It is vital that everyone get involved in the local and state politics. The current crop of politicians aren’t going to cooperate until many are removed by the voters.
I have thought long and hard about this. A Constitution convention is a bad ideal. It give the ruling elite a chance to really f# things up even worst. Just enforce the current Constitution and eliminate 80% of government regulation.
I wish people would quit calling the amendment process in Article V a Constitutional Convention. It is not and gives the impression that the convention of states will rewite the whole constitution. We have a structural problem in our govt, we have gotten away from federalism. The recent SCOTUS rulings give me hope that we may have turned an important corner. We have a Constitution that will fit into you pocket, but judicial interpretation has given us a 3000+ page of rulings. Talk to the Hands is correct, congress will never offer appropriate amendments, but yet they and SCOTUS change the Constitution any time they delberate. We the people need to excercise the right of Article V.
Right…The Constitution we have is magnificent. It needs to be honored and enforced. And as long as Roe vs Wade has been turned back, there are other cases which can be reviewed, and this also will damage the terrible doctrine of stare decisis.
We need PROACTIVE reps, to propose several constitutional Amendments, to get the argument out in the open.
