A contracted mercenary has no legal recognition or protection as a prisoner of war. Two American mercenary soldiers have been captured by Russian forces and now present a rather unique issue for the Biden administration. The traditional end result for captured mercenaries is execution; however, Russian President Vladimir Putin may not want to hang these two State Dept. conscripts.
(Via Telegraph) – Two former US servicemen have been captured during fighting with Russian forces in Ukraine, The Telegraph has been told. The pair were taken prisoner during a fierce battle outside the north-east city of Kharkiv last week, according to comrades who were fighting alongside them.
Alexander Drueke, 39, and Andy Huynh, 27, had been serving as volunteers with a regular Ukrainian army unit. They are believed to be the first US servicemen to end up as Russian prisoners of war. They join a growing number of Western military volunteers captured by Russian forces, including at least two Britons.
Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner have already been told they face the death penalty as “mercenaries”. The capture of the two Americans will be diplomatically sensitive as the Kremlin may seek to use it as proof that America is becoming directly involved in the war. Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, is likely to demand significant concessions to release them. (read more)

Let’s offer to trade Biden/Obama for them, and the Russians can do what they want.
I’ll up the antenna, how about Hillary and Bill plus all of the congress critters and our dear dear senators.
Why stop there?
ha!
your spell-correction bit you in the antenna
spell-correct don’t play poker, apparently
Now that wordman has gone AWOL, you are heir to his throne.
I will up the “antenna” several times myself to add to Patrick’s swap list.
In for a panty — in for a pond.
Whoops I misspoke!
In for a penny— in for a pound!
Aren’t words fun?
They sure can get us in treble— oh, there I go again!
They can get us in trouble!
My goodness!
I didnt catch that nimrod man. 🤣🤣
Not much of a bargaining chip when you go into negotiations and all you can offer is trash.
That trash you can take your revenge on
How about they keep the mercenaries and we just give them FJB and hussain for free.
One big happy warmongering family.
Since we’re giving our crap away, we should also get rid of scrotum face Soros.
Now that is a great idea for a somewhat pornographic, but appropriate meme image.
kapo Soros
Capo di tutti i capi
You caused a laugh burst here: “scrotum face Soros”!
And Bill Gates
Throw in the Bush’s and you’ve got a deal.
Jeb, W and the casket of H
This is high bid. 🤣
We could throw in a few others to sweeten the pot.
I am now picturing an old wooden prison ship with these miscreant criminals aboard…on their way to a Russian port.
Yep. Russians can run a train on Biden/Obama. I mean, the Russians can train to run with Biden/Obama.
Throw in the entire Uniparty CONGRESS along with Ovomit, Val J., Killary and certainly the Bushinistas and we have a deal.
Please confirm via DNA testing that they were properly executed.
Yours truly, MAGA AMERICA.
Throw in all the FISA criminals. FREE!
+ $40 Billion
Putin would refuse. He likes such awful inept losers in charge of his enemy forces.
Throw in Hillary as a sweetener.
Cankles can bring her reset button.
Please trade Pelosi and McConnell!! They have trampled the constitution for 50 years!! Absolute traitors of America!
While they may be Americans, there is no lower creature than a “mercenary”. Curse their existence and give them no sympathy
That is a complete falsehood by someone who lacks historical knowledge. There have been plenty of decent soldiers throughout history from classical times up through the modern era who have hit the ground as mercenaries. Try central Africa for some enlightenment.
Now the two guy’s here either wanted a pay-check or fell for the MSM BS about the poor Ukraine, either way I doubt that they pay with their lives. Most likely a deal will be struck through the State Department for their eventual release.
There is no reason for any American to be a mercenary in this Russia v Ukraine war. They remind me of the US and Brit traitors who decided to fight on behalf of ISIS. They obviously are not America First guys.
While agree and am against mercenaries…
They are still Americans and that is what the focus should be.
Greedy? Misguided? Ukrainian family? Crazy? Who knows, but at the end of the day, they are Americans.
We can deprogram them when they get home. But get home they must. We cannot use the lives of Americans, for whatever political reasons, to be pawns.
i disagree…they put the country in a bad position(much like the ngo
s who knew months in advance afghanistan was a done deal yet hung around till the last minute)...they do it of their own volition....because they
re americans doesnt give them the right to put others in jeopardy or affect policy decisions....
nobody conscripted them...nobody forced them...i hate Shuffles and his reprobate administration with every fiber but they have no right to put any american administration in "a spot' if things go south for them(unless theyre clandestine american gov`t contractors)….and i doubt the biden administration would ever admit that publicly..
unh unh…
So true “uncouth jay marks”.
It really makes a mess when you get mercenaries from America fighting on both sides.
We would have a big problem on our side if American’s are caught fighting for Russia by the Ukrainian’s
There are many wars going on out in the world at any given time and when American’s decide to fight in them for money or for whatever reason they put our County in a very difficult position.
AFAIC they made their beds…
The world doesn’t run on unicorn farts. If they wanna play war there are consequences.
It was their decision.
They knew the risks.
Time for them to “man up” and accept the consequences of their decisions.
The ISIS pawns should never be let back into the country. Once you voluntarily give aid and comfort to our nations enemies and take up arms against your own countrymen (in our enemies own territory no less), your citizenship should be immdiately and irrevocably revoked.
These guys a little different, they are not fighting our own military and misguided though they may be they are on our government’s payroll. That said, the laws governing the treatment of mercenaries is pretty clear.
…a replacement for the Russian ship
( attacked via missiles using u.s. gps markers )…?
…long negotiation…
( unlike the peace / truce negotiations that reportedly were going on months ago…
while supplies were being sent to prolong the u.s. created issue ( labs etc )
)
Love thy neighbors…
p.s.
do not be surprised if someone untold tries to capture a Russian or 2…. ?
.
They’re not getting paid. They are just dopes.
.
My ancestors knew how to deal with mercenaries. Stab them in their sleep on Christmas Day. A firing squad or a noose would be acceptable as well.
I agree. State dept and CIA would have a harder time recruiting these guys were they to just hang them out to dry.
One man’s “mercenary” is another man’s “volunteer”.
Were they captured in a Ukrainian military uniform and formally enlisted into the services of the Ukrainian army laid for BY the Ukrainian government?
I suspect not. And if they were captured out of uniform, they are irregulars and subject to no Geneva protections.
“Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.” as they say.
They are being paid, probably with our tax dollars.
Safe bet.
And Putin knows who is paying the US mercenaries.
Same for the two Brit mercenaries.
UK and US are the two biggest players in this big scheme.
Yes, the CIA has unlimited cash flow from somewhere……
Well said. “It’s just a matter of terminology.”
Throughout history, there have always been people who are willing to fight somebody else’s war in exchange for currency-units or shiny coins.
they’re gonna be REAL disappointed if they agreed to be paid in crypto
American soldiers are sadly that. There was never any reason for us to be in the Middle East or Afghanistan. Instead of protecting our own country and border we are left defenseless with our military doing the bidding of the elite. Anyone ever listen to general Wesley Clark speech? None of the countries we were going to invade adhered to the central banking system.
Bingo!
War is murky.
A cursory look makes “mercenary” seem cold and hard. But my husband had a gut reaction (way in the beginning before we realized all the implications) to go “help” over there. (Don’t worry, he wouldn’t have gotten out of the house!) So a cursory glance at the Telegraph article mentions that one had wanted to “help” and that doesn’t seem so terrible in that light. If they were still in the U.S. Military and were sent over, they could help. But the only other way is the way they did it. But–thanks to Sundance–we understand the truth behind all of this. Context is everything and without it, we will fail.
There’s about a 0.0001% chance they were there to help. They’re embedded US contractors, most likely, and part of the shadow military that exists precisely so Biden/Obama can claim there are “no boots on the ground”.
American contractors paid by the DOS to advise Ukrainian soldiers on use of our high-tech weaponry!
Yep “the Secretary will disavow…”
American contractors paid by the DOS to advise Ukrainian soldiers on use of our high-tech weaponry
yep – I’ve heard yammering on TV and internet news that some of that rocketry that’s being sent requires – ahem – “training”
Just as the Ukrainians demanded, that the weapons come with ‘customer service’.
Probably.
And probably why the Russians did not just shoot them outright if they were just lowly hired losers.
Russia knows exactly who they are and why they are there.
And Americans training Ukraine Azov battalions on German soil.
They were there to kill Russians regardless. I assume they knew the risks and the consequences. Well?…
I don’t have any sympathy for them. I do hope they throw our government under the bus.
First you need to know just who it is you are helping. Ukraine is not a good side to be on.
Yes, well, we all found that out, didn’t we?
yes, found out years ago
Neither is putins. Only losers are the Ukrainian people.
I disagree. Ukranian people in the Western part of that country have been attacked and slaughtered by n a z i Ukranian troops for years. These troops still attack civilians, in the midst of this war. They have been shelling civilian targets in Donetsk this week.
Putin is not aiming for civilians. He is aiming at Ukr. military, and n a z i murderers.
Western media tells us that Putin is bad. Do not believe the Western media.
Mercenaries are like our politicians—There for the money.
Battle of Britain had foreign pilots including Americans.
Flying Tigers were mercenaries flying for China against Japan.
Mercenaries are from the warrior class…some folks have opinions….others step into the arena.
And some just step in it.
French and other European mercenaries made considerable contributions to the American Revolution. In fact, one of the most notable “mercenaries” was French General Marquis de Lafayette, who fought for American Independence.
I think you’re throwing the proverbial baby out with the bathwater with your comment.
I hope the Blackwater money was good!
blackwater, or blackrock?
Black Face…
Eric would never allow any of his employees to enter the Ukrainian fiasco.
This was a point I kept bringing up at the start of the Afghan War + Gitmo… People kept talking about the Geneva Conventions — but as far as I understand it — + the point people kept refusing to believe is — the Geneva Conventions clearly define — what is a Soldier + what is a Civilian + what is a lawful government agent…
….and those who chose to participate in the fighting outside of those clearly defined categories were — fair game.
That was the way it always was before…
There were plenty of roles commonly used in Warfare that fell outside those legally defined categories — but you always understood the risks if you accepted those roles…
Why characterize them as “mercenaries”? A more accurate term would be “volunteers.”
I would say it depends on how much they were paid, or thought they were going to be paid.
If they were getting $100,000 a year, or thought they were going to get $100,000 a year, then I would say they were mercenaries. If they got no more than “room and board”, and knew that was all they would get, then I would say volunteers.
Tax free!
This seems like a fair distinction.
A better description would be “out of luck”. Their problem. Not mine
It could become our problem, anything can ignite the fire storm the gummint is itching for.
Agent provocateurs.
But I can’t play the high and mighty song. My own family is descended from mercenaries.
We thank God they had an America to escape to.
throw in Kinzinger
“Do stupid things, win stupid prizes”
The Brandon administration will pretend not to know anything.
It’s not a pretense; it’s real.
Shouldn’t be hard for them
Someone turned on the Fog of War Machine® again. I think it might have been CNN.
It is standard for leftists to try to have things both ways. Have your cake and eat it, too.
At present, we have the sad spectacle of Democrat fascists who still play at globalism.
Sooner or later, patriotism and nationalism will carry the day.
Globalism remains the belief system of radical leftists and limousine liberals. Normal Americans cannot make sense of what these phonies claim to believe.
Marx had his worldwide brotherhood of the proletariat – how many people can define what the hell that means?
Mussolini recognized the obvious – men will die for their literal brothers, they will not die for abstract concepts.
Fascism is therefore pounding at our door, once again. Socialism is constantly on life support.
I finally arrive at my point: before the 2024 election, maybe long before, Biden or his replacement will be screaming that their critics or dissenters are unAmerican, or unpatriotic. Take it to the bank.
They’re already doing it, but yes, they will do it even louder.
This war is not a war started by “leftists.” Sending $50bn was approved by nearly every member of congress. Lindsey Graham and his pals were the cheerleaders. If you need it, take the clue about who is behind the destruction of our country.
Are they CIA?
Who was paying them?
Did we just get a push closer to nuclear war?
Well, since they are mercenaries in the Ukrainian Army, sounds like a Zelensky problem.
Let em eat cake.
If z see’s it as his problem
guess whom
he would call for more money?
( or, already did…? )
( hint, there is a pattern… )
[ at the costs of taxpayers and national debt$]
Imho
Putting my conspiracy theory hat on – what if Zelensky arranged for American advisors (or whatever) to be captured?
He might believe that he could have some leverage to get some more $ from the deep state.
From ISIS brides, Blackwater, little green men, war has an attraction which draws “outsiders” to the conflict. They know the game, they know the rules and they know what might happen if captured: The fork in the road is either death or trade me for something of value. What are their lives worth? Maybe Putin wants to find out…hopefully for these guys he will.
Biden’s moves have made Russia more money than they have spent fighting the Ukrainians…that is my present hunch.
America is going crazy as the crazies run our national government. Wait till Hillary jumps in this game big time…Putin will be just another stand in for her cheating husband, Bill as Trump takes a break from that role.
For the RINOs we must wait till their man, Pence, comes out to give his grand thoughts. At least Willie’s willie can still smile knowing that soon Kamala may be back in California.
I bought a 20 pound bag of pinto beans today at Costco…I’ve never cooked beans, but I believe they will come in handy, except for those who want to tax cow farts may be coming for me down the line…good god, is this ever going to end?
You sound like Joe!
“I bought a 20 pound bag of pinto beans today at Costco…I’ve never cooked beans,..”
Unfortunately, all that is about to change.
Too bad – so sad.
On their own, they chose a path to follow.
The country (meaning what’s left of OURS) owes them nothing – save for sympathy and perhaps a prayer.
We have our own problems at home.
Can we trade Graham and McConnell for them? If so, in a NY minute!
Oo! Oo!
Send Graham and McConnell!
Siberia has ports, right?
Are we being gaslit to drum up more $$$ for Ukraine?
That seems unlikely. Instead, I am beginning to suspect that Joltin’ Joe is getting ready to “ throw the fight”.
Did they not know about the Minsk agreement and how Ukraine never lived up to their end of it?
Did they know that Ukrainonazis have been shelling civilians since 2014?
Have they not understood that the Maidan was a US 3 letter coup?
How could they not know they were serving the nazis after being in country?
1 got baptized to go and kill other baptized people?
Stupid is as stupid does, sir.
Short and sweet. Thank you.
You have it all exactly right, Mark.
If these two were helping the AZOV units they deserve everything coming their way.
I think the mercenaries should be disavowed and have their citizenship revoked. I’m kind of inclined to have the attitude of “why should I care about these two idiots”?
Serving your country is one thing, but getting involved in two other countries war is stupid.
Hemingway fought in the Spanish Civil War. Would you have revoked his citizenship, too?
yes
I would seriously consider it.
Bigshots and little people alike cause a lot of problems for their own countries when they fight in wars their country has no stake in.
It creates a huge mess if they are captured, our government has been cleaning these messes up quietly for over a 150 years.
We were once a strong proud nation with a lot of mojo around the world.
We are now a weaker country with many internal problems and this mercenary fighting is just one more thing that causes much international trouble we do not have the strength and power to handle that we once did.
Maybe some old realist will volunteer to take their place?
Lol, nicely done:)
Calm down. War is a young man’s endeavor.
Not when the war comes to your doorstep, as is seeming more and more likely here in the USA and is already the case in Ukraine.
Saw what you did there.
And, to be quite frank, “if I were Vladimir Putin, I would do the same.” I would make it a very big deal that the USA is “secretly” providing fighters. (Just as I made a very big deal of the fact that Western Ukraine is using Real Nazis.)
And, if they really want to do that, I would tell the USA, the EU, NATO, etc.: “the next required formal step is a Declaration of War.” You cannot have it both ways. “Put up or shut up.” Either you’re all-in or you’re all-out. You cannot straddle the fence.
“ You cannot straddle the fence.”
You can if you have no cajones.
Andy looks gay.
Like ANTIFA mercenaries. They represent the left – not the majority of American interest.
They’re there hustling a dollar. U.S. taxpayer’s dollar.
No quarter…
No dime or nickel, either.
Speaking of hustling, somebody is dealing the Javelins on the dark web…
Just a matter of time before one of those Javelins is used to bring down a civilian airliner in a terror attack.
(Yes, I know that they are designed as anti-tank weapons).
“The hell with them fellas. Buzzards gotta eat, same as the worms” J. Wales
Excellent
CIA?!?
Maybe Chris Wray and AG Merrick Garland will prosecute both of these two clowns for violation of federal law:
18 U.S. Code § 960 – Expedition against friendly nation.
Whoever, within the United States, knowingly begins or sets on foot or provides or prepares a means for or furnishes the money for, or takes part in, any military or naval expedition or enterprise to be carried on from thence against the territory or dominion of any foreign prince or state, or of any colony, district, or people with whom the United States is at peace, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 745; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(J), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147.)
“…against the territory or dominion of any foreign prince or state,..”
The mercs are fighting against Kharkiv?!
Did you earn your law degree from an online program?
You should write the entire description:
“against the territory or dominion of any foreign prince or state, or of any colony, district, or people with whom the United States is at peace.”
I think that any one of either dominion, state, territory or people covers Russia!
If they saw that video of the Ukrainian president in high heels & leather, butch dancing his way over to a piano where he hits the keys with his junk & STILL decided to go & fight for him?
-Than sorry, I got nothin.
What Putin should do is have all the captured mercenaries dress the same way & have them do some burlesque
riverdance number on worldwide live TV.
Than send they home.
So will any of that 44 billion pay for their freedom? Asking for fleeced American taxpayers.
On second thought, did any of that 44 billion pay for them to be there in the first place?
…that is maybe assuming that there is accounting of the miss spending…?
…hmmm..
I do not know
Have no idea what to think about these two, and any others who go to a foreign land to take up arms for a foreign nation.
For their families, though, am sorry that they will now have to endure not knowing how their loved ones are. May they find solace and peace during this time of unknowing and waiting.
How long will it be until we read about an Air Force C-137 stuffed with cash and gold making a midnight flight over the Vlad’s place in a genuflection of appeasement and submission?
This is unlikely. All available troop transports are being deployed to the southern border in an effort to distribute alien invaders to their new homes in blue states.
I do not think that Putin will ask for money to get them back.
I agree.
Putin does not need money, much less devalued American dollars.
They aren’t worth much to Vladdie Poo as corpses.
They will have much greater value as talking points.
I would call your attention to the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war, Part 1, Article 4, section A (2)a.
If they are out of uniform they aren’t considered POWs. They might be considered spies?
Part 1, Article 4, section A (2)(b) that of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;
There is no requirement for a uniform.
.
Mercenaries? Nnnnnnnnnnnnnn… Not getting paid.
I don’t get this. If they want to be soldiers they should have stayed in the U.S. military.
.
Maybe they didn’t want the Covid 19 vax?
Maybe… but if they were smart enough to refuse the vax they should have been smart enough to know better than going to Ukraine…
outhouse counsel: If the Telegraph story is true (who knows?), sounds more like volunteers than mercs. From what I have read, Ukraine is neither an attractive, nor lucrative market for professional American mercs, due to the the lack of an official US presence (as there was in Iraq and A-stan), to provide an “umbrella” of diplomatic cover and Geneva Convention safeguards.
Lucrative for Ex-MIL?There’s plenty of black market opportunities with the unaccounted for flow of US weapons.
Maybe they wanted to avoid sensitivity training.
Let’s hope the Russians don’t do to them what some of the Ukrainians did to Russian POWs … shoot them in the knees.
These ridiculous games the left play. They’ve been directly involved since the beginning. Putin is not an idiot.
Hopefully that retard from MSNBC who posts selfies of himself in combat gear inside Ukraine gets captured next
Matthew ,
I saw a picture of Malcolm Nance in all his gear and somebody commented that he was probably standing in his Back Yard 😄
That was a while ago but it cracked me up 😁
Should’ve been home.
Their American families probably needed them more than a foreign country that doesn’t deserve their valor.
A couple of thoughts. If I were them, after Afghanistan I wouldn’t trust this administration to do anything to get Americans out of a bad situation. Second, Putin will make sure Biden can’t bury or lie his way out of this.
The stupid. It burns!!
Putin should announce he will release them if Biden agrees to stop sniffing children’s hair.
That’s the winner reply of the night.
“We were out on a mission and the whole thing went absolutely crazy, with bad intel,..”
How very convenient for Mr Pootie to have captured two US soldiers in the Oblast where Russians have suffered their most stinging defeat since Kiev.
Ukrainian surveillance drones have good coverage of this area. Is it even remotely plausible that they would be acting on “ bad intel” when T-72s have been their preferred target?
Huh? “… stinging defeat since Kiev.”
Must suck when reality comes crashing down on your head. Winners don’t beg for funding and weapons the way Zelensky does. Winners don’t ambush citizens with summons of conscription at gas lines and beaches. Winners don’t rely on foreign soldiers to fight their wars. Etc.. etc…
I doubt they will let them go. Russia knows that no matter how well these people are treated in captivity, the USA will spread what it wants upon their return.
“First acknowledged” captured mercenaries.
Anybody seen Lt. Gen Roger Cloutier or retired Adm. Eric Thor Olson lately?
Last seen in the Azovstal neighborhood perhaps?
Yes, think beyond these headlines people!
How many more are there that are blown to pieces? How many others have NOT been acknowledged?
Putin is trolling lol!
Why being publicized today?
Lots more to contemplate besides the headline.
They’ll probably have to send in tier one , front line war fighting man Malcom “ stand by” Nance to rescue these chaps .
😄😄😄
Dumboldredneck ,
I was just commenting Above that somewhere I saw a picture of Malcolm Nance all Suited Up in his Gear and one of the comments stated , “He is probably standing in his back yard” 😄 That made me laugh out loud 😁
Oh well. You can’t fix stupid.
Idiots!
Bought into a fake war, fake cause, and fake NATO.
As Clint Eastwood told Tuco in The good, the Bad, and the Ugly, “God doesn’t like idiots”.
The people behind Senile Joe are deciding the fate of the two American Mercenaries right now. … Will two new martyrs help the Democrats win more voters? … Can they blame Trump for any death? … (After all many Americans are still convinced, Trump and Putin are in Cahoots!)
The two men lives depend on the ruthless people behind Senile Joe. … ~The two men need our prayers to a God in Heaven.~ …… The people behind Senile Joe need to know, that to allow the killing of more Americans will cause the Democrats to lose more voters. … For the UniParty ~everything is politics. = as politics is their religion. (The acquisition of money and power for many.)
Trade them for pardoning Julien Asange. Otherwise keep them.
suckers.. they deserve whatever happens to them
It’s unlikely there will be a deal.
Many more will be caught, as exfill routes are cut.
They are not going to Russia, but staying in the breakaway republics.
The intent is clear.
Some heinous atrocities have been committed in Eastern Ukraine over the last eight years, and they(victims) will be in no mood to be reconciliatory.
Thousands of people from all over the world are currently fighting in the east.
What message will a swap deal send to other foreign combatants?
The Minsk agreements were repeatedly violated by Ukraine.
These combatants may sign docs stating they wont return to Ukraine, in the event of their exchange.
What reason does Putin have, to believe any attached agreement the “West” signs, will be worth the paper its written on?
The civilian population will be braying for blood.
How much legitimacy will these new governments have amongst the local population in these territories, if foreign militants are whisked away in the midst of a brutal war?
If hostilities were drawing to a close, I would have more reasons to be optimistic.
As things stand, they are SOOL
Most realistic take on this. It’s too bad these two had CNN on once too often.
And the Telegraph refers to them as U.S. servicemen…
They are not. They are mercs. Big difference. F them and FJB.
If Biden could do it there would be actual USA soldiers there in the Ukraine, as he wants a full blown war with Russia. There are American soldiers in Poland, but at the exact same level as years before this Ukraine War started, and no more added.
All sorts of BS about F-35’s being there in large numbers on YT, maybe some but not large numbers, and no F-22’s, no B2’s. Also no reports of F-15e’s being used.
There was a rumor a while back that Biden was ordering (or trying to) 2,000 of the 82nd Airbourne to go close to the Ukraine, but their commander said, “No.” There were a few sent later to Poland, but an exact replacement for some troops leaving.
Even in a full scale “proxy war” Biden would use USA jets to prevent total air superiority by Russia… If He Could.
Is he really the Commander in Chief? That is the question.
FJB commands his toady servants and acolytes. That’s about it.
Deep State Mercs
WEF mercs.
BINGO! President SCHWAB is in control, not nanny Biden….
They are not American servicemen, but Ukraine is certainly paying them with American monies, and probably far better than actual servicemen.
As soon as I saw this news I remembered how nonexistent was the Divider-in- Chief’s concern for agent Levinson, captured and kept for years by Iran – even as he illegally gave them BILLIONS – and let him die in custody.
He didn’t lift a finger for the truck driver who made a wrong turn and ended up in Mexico (Tamoorisi?) and let him rot in a Mexican jail for months.
Private Citizen Donald Trump was incensed! He worked for his release and gave him $25000 of his own money just to try to get started in life again.
Just one more little piece of “I didn’t really want to do this, I have a good life,” but he finally felt forced into it, no one stepped up.
The Divider-in-Chief’s VP cares no more for America/Americans than he did.
It will be a while before they are executed….but executed they will be………
If they execute them now then US public sympathy will be on their side……. and more will needlessly die………
Its probably best to milk it for all its worth then invite cameras to the event ………….
my sympathies are with Putin. fsck globohomo
Mine too……. and all because the USA would not keep their word eh?
Mine are with Putin as well. The meddling of the U.S. government in those affairs not of our concern, once again, has completely caused this. U.S. government is truly the great satan.
How would we react if Russia installed a Russian-puppet government in Canada after causing a coup and then had set up many bioweapon labs near that border, and began bombing the U.S. friendly population?
Public hangings will be what the people will call for.
The US armed forces have foreign nationals serving in their ranks. I believe the US Navy used to have recruiting stations in the Philippines. I enlisted years ago with a buddy who was a British citizen with agreen card. He never got his citizenship until after serving in a war.
Did these American volunteers enlist in the Ukrainian Army or are they private contractors? They are not mercenaries if they enlisted, wear the uniform, and are paid by the Ukraine army the same as any other Ukrainian soldier. I believe that makes a big difference. They should be protected by the Geneva Convention.
Good point but you omitted one major point … if they are indeed Foreign Volunteers who joined the Ukraine Military and took the oath to the Ukraine then they are no longer (technically) US Citizens by US Law.
There have been instances where US Citizens were “allowed” to volunteer to join another nations armed forces and the US Government tacitly allowed them to keep their citizenship (e.g. The American Eagle Squadron in WW II and Americans who held dual Israeli Citizenship). Yet, even the RAF was hesitant to commit the US Eagle squadron over the European Continent to save the Germans capturing them. So, it remains to be seen how this question is answered as it has been a murky Gray Area for a very long time. [Note: The US Volunteer Group aka the Flying Tigers were mercenaries.]
If these volunteers were in fact “unincorporated” mercenaries or worse: US CIA employees or US DoD Employees of some form… then they are SOL.
The response of the US Government will speak volumes to answer this question.
Not really. The US GOvt is, at this time, so dismally unhinged that any response will be based on some sort of internal mental soup rather than any kind of objective reality.
They were virtue signalling dupes that thought they could be heroes. All they’ve done is proven themselves fools and wasted their lives for the wrong cause.
You actually think this is a real war?
By the very definition of the word, yes.
I”m familiar with the prosecution thereof
Am I misconstruing your statement, or are you in actual fact labouring under the misapprehension that it’s not a real war?
