The constant and strategic pressure by Russian military in eastern Ukraine is slowly and methodically taking more ground each day. Russian troops have now encircled and captured the city of Severodonetsk, which will join Lysychansk under full Russian control within days, according to the Washington Post.
Ukraine forces are running out of supplies as the U.S. State Dept. tries to organize the battle formations on behalf of U.S. interests in the country. The Russian advances are slow, methodical and very deliberate. The Ukraine military is losing ground and Zelenskyy is calling for more western help urgently.
LVIV, Ukraine—The leaders of France, Germany and Italy plan to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv this week, officials said, as reports showed Russia making gains in the country’s east and Ukrainian officials urgently sought arms from Western nations to hold Russian forces at bay.
French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi were planning to visit the Ukrainian capital on Thursday, said two European officials, who cautioned that plans could yet change. The trip would be the first to Ukraine since the beginning of the war for the three Western leaders.
News of the planned meeting came as Ukrainian officials said Russia had made fresh gains in its efforts to encircle and capture the city of Severodonetsk, which would bring Moscow significantly closer to its goal of controlling the Donbas area in the country’s east, its foremost target recently in the war.
Serhiy Haidai, the Ukrainian governor of the Luhansk region, which includes Severodonetsk, said on Sunday that Russians had destroyed a second bridge connecting Severodonetsk to Lysychansk, a Ukrainian stronghold just across the Siverskyi Donets river. Russian forces also shelled a chemical plant in the city’s industrial section, where civilians had taken shelter in bunkers, Mr. Haidai said.
The battlefield advances were the latest evidence that Russia is outgunning Ukrainian forces, using its superior artillery power to steadily take territory. Its gains have thrown added focus onto Ukraine’s pleas for more powerful and longer-range artillery and other weaponry from the West, as well as on Ukraine’s lack of capacity to manufacture ammunition for the Soviet-era heavy weapons in its arsenal. The West will keep waging a propaganda war.
While the Russians will keep waging a military one.
All rational thinkers know the outcome.
20th century thinkers beating the 21st century thinkers.
The 21st century idea that the side with the best narrative wins the war… Is an idiotic belief that stems from the Obama administration. It was during Obama’s first term …when he gave a speech the Media trumpeted the event as an action. So….simply giving a speech was the action. The Media presented to the people that words were action. This of course is in direct conflict with reality. It’s fantasy.
Nowhere does the clash between fantasy and reality become more evident than on a battlefield.
The Russians deal in reality while the Biden administration deals in pink unicorns and fairy tales. The Russians have been playing multi-level chess since the beginning of this conflict while the Biden administration plays checkers while wearing Halloween costumes.
Completely true, moreover the Brandon regime is toiling in fantasy on ALL fronts. Everything is phony! Every damn thing is a lie. Transism, inflation, global warming, gas prices, crime, the boarder…… you know the thing. They are running the country like a video game, the tough part is that the majority see it, hate it, want it to stop and yet every day a new outrage. It’s crazy making.
“Video game”: says it all for me. It’s my gut’s opinion that very young people are making everyday policy.
it’s what happens when the old in positions of authority become senile but hold onto those positions.
Someone at work showed me a video of the Texas school shooter.
I don’t know if anyone else was unfortunate enough to view it, but
the movements, cadences, stops were EXACTLY like in my kid’s video games.
Yes !!!
The LORD said even looking on a woman to lust is adultery –
So, is imagining to kill, murder ???
Then I am a major sinner, because this doesn’t end short of death, and I don’t intend for it to be mine.
Videogame simulate reality, not reality simulates videogames.
You got it backwards.
It’s also a group of people that think being un-friended on FaceBook is something serious.
LOL I was unfriended by a woman who had married my nephew. LOL LOL LOL She preached trans LBGTQ as a silly-one-note 24/7. My nephew finally left her. Pray for divorce.
And some universities want to make gaming a major field of study. Good grief.
border and don’t forget covid, one of the most damaging fantasies that ever occurred. just the suppression of ivermectin destroyed millions of lives.
Corruption makes one STUPID. For someone like BiteMe, the good life is just one bribe away. He has no knowledge (or did he in his more lucid days) of nuance, diplomacy, or anything of depth and wisdom.
We sorely need wisdom, experience, and honor these days, and there’s little to be f I understand in the political realm.
I would love to see Gen Robert Spalding throw his hat in the ring.
…’that words were action’
Spot on. Surely we all remember how fantastically successful Zero was at solving the world’s most pressing problems by issuing twitter hashtags! My personal favorite was #BringBackOurGirls!
Yeah…. what disgusts me about it the most is that they completely inverted the meaning of words and called themselves ‘adults back in charge’. Makes me wanna throw up every time I hear that.
The flip side of the same Obama-minted coin is of course this marvelous piece of oratorical excrement: ‘words are violence’.
There are no 21st century ideas. It’s actually a replay of the standard communist agenda which ushered in communist rule in the Soviet Union and also in China. The use of identity politics and “victimhood” were also used to motivate division and ultimately the destruction of prior government. What did the USSR and Communist China do to the “diversity victims” once their power was cemented? That’s right… they were murdered.
I keep looking for some recent articles by Gen Robert Spalding. I greatly respect his opinion. The fact that he is out of view makes me a little uneasy.
You mean 21st Century stinkers.
Thinking is really not their forte.
Never forget that Putin announced what he was doing. Since that time, we have learned there ARE genuine descendants of the WW2 era NAZIs in Ukraine and that the US government is in full support of of Ukraine NAZIs and are actively arming them in violation of law passed previously by congress which expressly forbid support for those groups.
Putin said what he was there to do in very clear terms. This is precisely what is is and has been doing.
As it relates to the globalist vs nationalist struggle, it seems even China is in favor of the nationalist line. The globalists and China are competing communists who disagree on who should be in charge of the world. This is the exact struggle which emerged between the socialists of NAZI Germany and the communists of the Soviet Union.
I don’t believe Putin has any designs on expansion but we know for certain China does.
Russia for one does not have the manpower to administer hostile populations. The Donbass and Crimea have pro Russian populations. In fact, the nationalist and ethnic Ukrainians are hated in these regions. The Russians are also rebuilding and repairing the damages in their occupation areas and offering citizenship. Why would Russia invade further west when it can simply sell energy and reap the rewards, and not the problems of these countries ? The Russian Bear has more influence holding the energy Ace card in his paws. The Uniparty has done all it can to strengthen the Bears position, not weaken him.
I don’t believe they will stop, until either the eastern half of Ukraine has been overrun (with the Dnieper as the boundary), or even overrun the entire country. Clearly, the current regime in place in Ukraine is violently hostile to Russia, and it would be mind boggling if they left that illegitimate regime in place, right on their border. And each day that goes by, Ukraine gets substantially weaker, while Russia is able to make good on their losses (i.e. like they did during WWII).
So, would it make sense for the potted plant to force Zelensky and Putin to come together and stop this bs? In other words, what is the administration doing to end this besides sending American taxpayer dollars to Ukraine? Or, is that (sending cash) the only option?
Yes, our government has strengthened Russia position. Again, I do not think this is incompetence. Is this “war” an excuse to sap the USA of more riches as a final cashout before our downfall? Destroy our currency and transfer wealth to the east? Meanwhile, they get to rid themselves of the nationalists in Ukraine, supposedly NAZI’s. Russia has this crazy obsessed thing about triumph over National Socialist Germany. They have weird degenerate parades and all kinds of propaganda. I believe all of this NAZI talk is more propaganda from Russia to get their own people behind war. Yes I have seen the pics of soldiers with the patches. Biden will probably do this to the US soon. Remember, there can be no nationalism anywhere ever or you are a NAZI.
I’m not sure what’s degenerate about having a parade to celebrate the defeat of Nazi Germany in WWII. While living in the USA in the 21st century, I’ve seen some truly degenerate parades, and one of the last things I would place in that category would be a mostly traditional society coming together once a year on the anniversary of what’s widely regarded as the greatest military victory of the last century to honor veterans and remember a historical triumph over evil.
The fact that any sort of nationalism is conflated with Nazism by left-wing extremists in the West is unfortunate, but it’s not relevant to the situation in Ukraine. Russia is not calling people Nazis because of any sort of “woke” leftist movement. Russians aren’t easily offended by off-color jokes or worried about the exact terminology used to refer to race or sexuality; there’s no equivalent to cancel culture over there and people will often say things quite publicly that would wreck most people’s careers in the USA. When Russians say somebody is a Nazi, they mean it literally.
Biden’s idea that winning the social likability war is more important than winning the kinetic war is as effective as his energy strategy.
According to ACE Brandon is begging ‘Big Oil’ to turn on the taps but they’re telling him it doesn’t work that way.
Even if it did work that way, why would they trust that serial liar?
U.S. war-mongering kleptocrats enlisting their lapdogs in Europe in order to keep lining their own pockets from the diminishing account of the American taxpayer.
Does any single one of them have perspective, have the capacity to see past their own noses?
Ukraine and Russia could have found a begrudging diplomatic solution. But the dirty bowels of Washington, District of Corruption, saw their source of stolen American Taxpayer money, in jeopardy. And there is no stopping their fear of being found out.
There is something very criminal and immoral to have the likes of Lindsey Graham bleating about assassinating the Russian leader.
“There is something very criminal and immoral to have the likes of Lindsey Graham bleating about assassinating the Russian leader.” -kam
In the US we may have a law against sanctioned assassination of foreign officials. At the very least there is an unwritten rule for politicians that they don’t talk about it in public. Thus, if anything happened to Putin, public officials who called for his demise would have a big target on their backs.
Senator Graham is an idiot blowhard.
Personally, I wouldn’t bait and double cross Putin too many times –
I really prefer my tea without trace Polonium…
If Russia was waging a real military war there would be no more Ukraine.
Deep State people real believe they can talk and wish reality into being. You’ve all seen that facts don’t ever matter to them. In areas they completely control, they can overcome facts with MSM narrative. Not this time.
Hmmm, the NY Post published an article describing the Brandon Administration complaint that Zalinsky wasn’t heeding their advise (https://nypost.com/2022/06/11/live-updates-bidenvolodymyr-zelensky-didnt-want-to-hear-us-info/). So, now it’s Zalinsky’s fault all this happened?
Biden’s lost ANOTHER one, hasn’t he?
this one was lost from the 2014. vicky nuland should lose one of her mossad general’s stars for letting it go this far.
Much truth there!!
And the little buddy she was working with.
Apparently, that phone call has been scrubbed from YouTube.
They are starting the -“blame game”
It will be Zelensky saying he didn’t get supplies.
Intelligence saying Zelensky didn’t share intelligence.
White House saying bad intelligence.
Zelensky will be the scapegoat.
It certainly wont be Brandon.
Does anybody wonder why China Joe just doesn’t send in the military? You know the D RATS want a war with Russia. Is he REALLY in charge of the military? Is he really the Commander in Chief?
I hope the reason is because they aren’t quite 100% insane
No, they are cowards, even in the USA they won’t even engage in the battle of ideas, because they know they will be beat, they hide, they obfuscate, they lie, and they never stand up and admit anything, this is not leadership, this is kids playing games!!!!
The Empire of Lies…..quite apropos….even if was first said by Putin.
that too, for sure. but there are a significant number of people in authority, apparently, who do not want to find where an actual u.s. russia war goes. seeing those carriers go down in an hour to hypersonic missiles would be disheartening and bad business for the military industrial complex.
How true. I have a friend who retired from the Navy as an intelligence officer. He said that in the current age if a carrier was ever lost that would at least be the end of an administration.
“if a carrier was ever lost that would be the end of an administrstion.”
Hold that thought. This admin still has plenty of time to lose one.
They have no problems with the massive death and destruction of the people in this country. I don’t think the military is answering to Biden.
We murdered 500,000 Iraqi civilians and 500,000 civilians in Libya plus thousands more in Kosovo all for nothing! None of these countries posed any danger to the United States.
Actually it’s more correctly referred to as “Commander N Thief”
The illegal occupant has sent in the military under the guise of “training”. Any expansion on that will require a declaration of war and he doesn’t have the votes for that.
That goes through the US State Department, not through the DoD.
Biden* would have to go before Congress and request a declaration of war. Congress then votes. Biden* probably doesn’t have enough votes to begin with; certainly not in an election year.
But, but, his puppeteers can have him use a phone and a pen!
A few of the brighter commies know they would lose.
Perhaps because to the Biden puppet masters it is not about a war or victory or even about Ukraine. It is ALL about the money that can be made making weapons and having them expended over seas. It’s the Jay Leno Doritos commercial. Shoot all you want, we’ll make more.
He isnt in charge of anything.
He isnt even in charge of himself.
It would be,but that wouldn’t stop them if it happened.
As far as treason is concerned, they believe they above that and untouchable.
The sooner Ukraine collapses and makes a deal, the safer and better for the world
The sooner Russia captures the rats and put them on trial, to show their complicity with the left, then the world will be safer!!!!
What’s taking so long? You’d think that Ukraine and Zelensky, left to their own accord, would have worked out an agreement with Putin to end the war!
Looks like Russia is blocking off Ukraine from all their seaports which would require them to ship their grain by rail. THAT will raise the price of already expensive wheat higher. Ukraine never had a chance to win against the Russians despite what all the propaganda declared and this was was futile from the beginning. Hubris and Globalist politics are very expensive.
And make no mistake, the Deep State via their Ukrainian puppets provoked this war.
This jumped immediately into my head when I saw who
Zelensky went to over this.
“They’re in on the scam. Just like Biden. Zelensky is seeking them
out because he knows who else is in on the money laundering/ human
smuggling.”
I’m glad that the Russians have destroyed the biolabs.
I just hope that the elite left some papers, email exchanges, receipts,
texts behind that ties them to what’s been going on.
That’s when the fun would begin.
And whooeee do these unbelievable bastards deserve it.
An old guy can always dream.
You don’t really believe the BS about the grain, do you?? It’s a lie!!! The USA can produce the little bit of grain they produce with just a little twitch of removing the bureaucrats and regulations (Government) out of the famers (Capitalist) way!!! Hell, just shut down the ethanol stills, which is all government regulated, and this would cover the grain lost!!! But when you lose the grain sales to stills(ethanol plants), the left loses talking points, ethanol contributes nothing for our fuel crises!!! Conclusion: All of our problems stems from Lefties(Government), elect Conservatives(not Republicans) and most problems will dissolved!!
The West screwed Ukraine by antagonizing Russia into war.
Wrong. Ukraine set floating mines around Odesa. Russia has offered to remove them and provide safe passage for grain exports. Zelenski refused, finding it better to blame the Rooskies.
Thank you!
I read the same reports!
And the mines were old…many broke away and are floating around the black Sea.
A little over a week ago, here, there was a lengthy informative video interview of Putin that was posted here at the Treehouse, along with a transcript. Putin said clearly and in no uncertain terms that the Ukraine would be allowed to ship grain from ports under Russian control with absolutely no problems. No tariffs, taxes or fees of any sorts. He called the West on their BS. The only way grain would have to be shipped by rail would be to enable the West and it’s attendant MSM drama queens to utilize the videos to garner sympathy from low info types.
I guess our media isn’t reporting that. 😕
Chuckle.
Black Sea is a floating land mine around Ukraine right now. Literally.
Rumor has it Ukraine was thinking Russia would be attacking by Sea.
So the Ukrainian military put really old land mines in water.
The chains were really old and.. .. many broke. And they are just floating out there!
That’s some reports I have seen. Going to take a long time to clear those mines.
What exactly are America’s real interest there as opposed to the interests of politicians who use it to launder money? They are two different interests.
we have no interest there whatsoever. none. zero.
same goes for vietnam, afghanistan, iraq, libya, and syria.
the latter four were yinon wars for israel, part of seven countries in five years.
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=yinon+wars+seven+countries+in+five+years&t=osx&ia=web
A ti semite much
Forty-six biolabs!
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK542569/#_NBK542569_pubdet_
The list is in spreadsheet format, attached. Clandestine had it on his Substack.
Only Joe and others had “interests”, including NIH and others. It’s where the political classes worst scandals go to be buried.
Agricultural exports that help keep the world wide costs down.
Biden, Pelosi, Kerry and Romney all have sons that were on the boards of Ukrainian gas companies. That is the interest. We are paying for their corruption.
Add to that Lanny Davis, a longtime Clinton loyalist who owns the chemical plant at Severodonetsk. So is the 40B going to bail out our American opportunists in Ukraine?
He’s a real sleaze.
Bio and other military research. Setting up in a foreign country allows for secrecy and getting around any laws and treaties.
Ukraine signed on to the 1972 bioweapon non-proliferation treaty when they were still part of the USSR. Does that commitment carry over?
Not likely. It’s a different country now.
Where the hell did $70 billion of our tax dollars go?
A little transfer of funds to ease the pain of losing part of your country. I think everyone who said/alluded to it is right: the outcome is a foregone conclusion and the western leaders are just throwing money around make-up for the Trump Era Industrial/Military Complex Depression – they weren’t OK with the new normal under Trump, they needed their perpetual conflict to keep one flowing.
LOL well said (Industrial/Military depression”!!!!
One huge grift, all on the taxpayer dime. They should be publicly drawn and quartered.
Yes…as SD reports UK is running out of supplies…guess over $50B doesn’t buy what it used to?
DC pols and lefty groups all over the world have taken most of it and it is being laundered as we speculate.
Question is when will Z take off… to probably South America with all his cash? He can always work a few comedy clubs down there.
When he knows, he will be captured, then he’ll run like the cheap hooker!!!!! My question is not when, it is where???
Washington DC
Ahhh…. This is why Putin caused Bidenflation. Putin ran Z out of our money. Pure genius! /s
10% to the big guy.
to pay off people who have secrets
Some of it must have gone to these people:

Zelensky AND Putin have been playing the United States like a fine tuned fiddle and Congress is tone deaf.
Tone deaf stupidity would be preferable to the corrupt pay off system of globalist grifters and hatemongers.
well worded!
Deliberate deafness! Going according to their plan.

Interesting – Will African and Asian Countries be eligible to join the EU?
Is it time make a name change to NWO with the USA being named the New World Order’s ATM and Department of Defense?
the russian sanctions and particularly the seizing of russian dollar and euro assets have put a ticking time bomb in that atm.
the petrodollar is starting to sweat, slur, and stumble. the petroruble and the goldyuan are practicing scales in the wings.
Quick send another 40 billion to the Zelensky scam. Any day now, the interloper will be sending American troops to confront the Russia Russia Russians whilst Zelensky hobnobs back and forth with the beautiful people.
Did you see Daily Mail’s article about Kiev this past weekend? People lounging around in the warm weather, going to the beach and to parks, living as if everything is perfectly normal.
The ever so classy Ukraine Military last week shelled the civilian population of Donetsk. It is said they are still shelling the area. There is no longer any military value in shelling that area. It only hurts civilians. It is just vengeance and blood lust by a defeated and retreating army. Of course this has been going on since 2014, why wouldn’t they keep doing it?
There are no good wars but, IMHO, this one is close.
Oh yeah, the UA and a lot of their regular citizens are just all about love and light.. /s
But…but…but…..
There are no Nazis in Ukraine!!!! SARCASM
And those Nazi Ukrainians are not the skin heads and Aryan Brotherhood of US type.
They are the continuation of WWII Nazi. The actual bona-fide original deal.
On one of the sites it shows pics of some of the Maripoul Nazi troops who surrendered. Part of the processing -they were made to show tattoos which were photographed.
Lots..and lots of Swastika tattoos.
we can only hope that putin can restrain his taste for vengeance against the discredited, debased u.s. hegemon no more.
Jobama is preparing us for a communist totalitarian failed state; Putin doesn’t need to do a damn thing to bring that on.
Putin will follow the adage “vengeance is a dish best served cold” by doing nothing.
“[Russian] gains have thrown added focus onto Ukraine’s pleas for more powerful and longer-range artillery and other weaponry from the West, as well as on Ukraine’s lack of capacity to manufacture ammunition for the Soviet-era heavy weapons in its arsenal.”
NATO’s 155mm howitzer ammunition is on-site in greater numbers than that of prewar stockpiles of AFU’s 152mm shells.
So while Ukraine has Soviet era artillery, its 152mm ammunition is being drawn low. As the article noted, Ukraine’s manufacturing capacity is inadequate to replenish its exhausted warstock.
And while Ukraine has a goodly amount of 155mm ammo, the supply of NATO M777 howitzers that fire it have been slow to arrive in theater.
Given the AFU’s logistical constraints, they will have to delay the surrender of Severodonetsk until Lysychansk can be reinforced with M777s howitzers and M270 MLRS.
It is bloody for both sides now but each day the Russian advance can be blunted at Severodonetsk, the AFU gains time to reinforce the high ground around Lysychansk.
From that point, additional Russian advances westward will prove to be too costly.
I don’t agree with you analysis, let’s just say, they received all the howitzers and ammo they needed, they will still lose, howitzers are just sitting ducks the Russians to just take out with ease??? Ukraine has no money to pay for the soldiers(mercenaries) and they don’t work for nothing, when the loyal fighting citizens lose their will to fight, the Russians will take over,(which is not very far off). It has taken the Russians some time to become battlefield harden and the higher echelons have corrected some big mistakes and they will make less mistakes going forward, you can see it in the progress they are making, but now even the propaganda rags touting the Ukrainians can’t keep telling their exaggerated stories!!!!
There is quite a bit of drone footage of M777 and crews get blown up. I saw one couple of days ago where 4 were being deployed in a field and a huge artillery strike came in and killed the crews and destroyed the weapons.
Looks like one possible strategy is that Russia just surrounds and waits them out.
Sitrep incoming…
There is whole squadron of Ukrainian heavy-lift birds incoming, each slinging a M777…
They are closely followed by five Magical Pink Unicorn battalions bearing brand new gun tractors to tow them around the AO.
Each truck comes with an “all you can shoot” unlimited supply of projectiles, a 5% discount on all propellant packs, and the best crash-course trained, inept 8-man crew, that Big Club money can buy..
Additionally, the Russians also agreed to drop their weapons, flee Severodonetsk, reconnect lost Ukrainian supply routes, and write apology letters.
Hang in there Chris, it’s real if you believe it.😉
would you care to wager some silver coins on that prediction?
Don’t give up your day job.
Who is training them in the use of this equipment?
Their war of Uktainian conquest has exposed the Russian military as overwhelmingly incompetent. Though all decent people hope the Ukrainians prevail, that’s an unlikely scenario given the massive advantages in manpower and materiel enjoyed by Russia. The next best alternative would be to ensure that the war is as costly as possible for Russia, ideally to the point that Putin is overthrown and democratic government returns to Russia.
Russia has never had a democratic government. And probably never will not in the way we in the West pretend we have. Russians are not Americans or British or Canadian or French they are Russian.
It is none of our business how they run their country. They seem to be doing better in picking leaders than we do with our fake elections.
The Russian military is not incompetent – they chose not to mass strike civilians and civilian infrastructure like we do – apparently they did not want to kill a million Ukrainians like we enjoy doing to Iraqis etc. But even if they were not competent in conventional warfare, they are far more advance than we are in nuclear weapons.
Russia had a brief moment of democratic government in the Yeltsin era, which was effectively snuffed out by Putin and his cronies. As for the Russian military, they’ve proven themselves to be incompetent through their actions in Ukraine. Moreover, the Russian military has NEVER refrained from murdering innocents. In fact, innocents have been their favorite targets for CENTURIES. Genocide has been their preferred strategy of conquest.
Your narrative/fake news comes from where?
he’s from Langley- just dropping by to watch the Treepers
keep thinking just that way: russia in odessa by labor day.
That might happen, but it’s no more to be wished for than was Odessa’s conquest by NAZI Germany in October 1941.
Don’t believe all the propaganda, the rags, here in the USA publishes!!! The Russian military is not overwhelmingly incompetent, you are believing the propaganda. They have made mistakes, just like the USA going into Vietnam, and as a young man, (young, dumb and full of you know what), I believed the lies told!!!! The war will be costly, but to whom?? It is already way to costly to the USA, which is money out of the taxpayers pocket(mine and yours’s)!!! Putin being overthrown?? Their you go believing the propaganda again, most the Russian citizen likes Putin, they see a strong leader, a man that will stand up for what he thinks, but if you believe in the propaganda Putin is soooo unpopular, just like Trump, but check the real figures and you find they are quite popular!!!
The Russian military has done a splendid job exterminating the CIA/Saudi terrorists maiming and murdering Syrian Christians and other innocent Syrians in secular Syria. Some of those CIA/Saudi backed terrorists are from the same terrorist group we were told did 9/11. As an American I thank the Russian military for exterminating the terrorists in Syria & Iraq
Russians have a reputation — well earned — for exterminating those who resist their tyranny, especially women, children, and the elderly.
The Russian military has performed so poorly in Ukraine, it is today the laughing stock of the First World, at least in terms of their conventional forces. As for Putin grip on power, who can say? He might hold on, but he’s sick, and if the war continues to drag with exceptionally high costs, he could very well be overthrown by the military high command and others in his government, backed by Russian oligarchs fed up with his blundering. Is Putin popular with the Russian people? Perhaps, but Adolf Hitler was popular in Germany. Popularity, then, isn’t everything, especially in societies — like NAZI Germany and Russia today — that are totalitarian in nature and subject to stifling propaganda. Putin is a vicious, mass-murdering tyrant who stands up only for HIMSELF, others be damned. He deserves NO support.
Do you read Sundance’s posts? Or, do you just come to this site to comment. You also need to read comments other than your own. The posters on this site are very informed. Educate yourself before you post here. Sundance has explained, in full detail, what the Russian objective was/is and that is what is happening.
The use of the term “Democracy “……
It’s a “tell”.
Same with Democratic Party vs Democrat Party.
And seems they are not aware we are pretty well informed here at the Treehouse.
I loathe the Democrat Party, almost as much as I loathe Putin.
I’ve read the articles. With respect to Russia and Putin, Sundance gets a lot wrong, I’m sorry to say. Putin is a vicious, mass-murdering megalomaniac who richly deserves opprobrium.
I’m a “decent” person, and I hope the Ukes pull a military coup and oust Zelensky, thus speeding an end to this war that the Ukes are destined to lose. You got the losing part right.
I also question your judgement of “overwhelmingly incompetent” Russian military.
If anything, the Russians have been overwhelmingly winning.
What else do you think?
The Russians should have conquered and occupied Ukraine within 2 weeks, if they were competent. Today, the Russian military is the laughingstock of the First World. Unfortunately, despite their incompetence, they could very well grind Ukraine into submission over time. The best outcome, however, would be for Putin to die of his cancer or be overthrown from within, ushering in a change in Russian foreign policy. The fact that you cheer on the brutal conquest of an independent country by a totalitarian dictatorship says much about you. My guess is that you would have cheered on Hitler’s conquest of Czechoslovakia, among other places.
“Though all decent people hope the Ukrainians prevail ….”
Maybe change “decent people” for low info, easily led dupes?
So, you hope for the mass-murdering megalomaniac to prevail instead? How is that at all “decent?”
Democracy?
Thank goodness the US is not a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.
And that may be the only thing that saves us.
Russia also has a Constitution, different levels of Govt, etc.
Before the “scrubbing ” on the internet..it was described as a Parliamentary Democracy.
Their last Legislative election was September 2021. Their next Presidential election coincides with ours-2024.
Not sure if Putin will run again. But currently he has an approval rating of 80%..maybe more.
Democracy—
Two wolves
and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.
Democracy seems to be the “trigger word” looney liberals and leftists use.
Same as their recent use of the term..Democratic Party vs Democrat Party.
It’s a “tell”.
“Threat to our democracy” has been a go to deflection for years now.
Its right up there with, “don’t you love your mother?” as a rhetorical exercise.
Have you not been paying attention? Our elections in the USA are rapidly degenerating into garbage. Russia’s elections achieved that distinction some time ago, thanks to Putin.
Russia, for your information, is a totalitarian dictatorship headed by a mass-murdering megalomaniac, where the rule of law is unknown. Elections in Russia are meaningless, and we in the USA are rapidly heading toward the same state of affairs. An honest, democratic electoral process is the only known bulwark — but not a guarantee — against tyranny. This is completely absent in Russia, and is rapidly approaching extinction in the USA.
Hope is not a plan, you are deluding yourself.
At any rate.
Be sure to return in about four months, to TCTH and remind us of just how wrong we were…
Some things are beyond our direct control. We can only try to deter Russian aggression by making it unacceptably costly for it to continue. It is, however, Putin’s decision alone as to whether Russia will change course or double down on aggression and brutality. Given that Putin, a dictator, is generally immune to public pressure, it will likely take immense costs and suffering inflicted on the Russian people to get him to relent, if it happens at all.
Ukraine is effectively asking the West to start World War III on its behalf. But, Ukraine is not a nice place. Real Nazis have been shelling Russian-speaking Ukranians in the eastern provinces for more than half a decade. Two good-faith attempts at negotiated settlement were made, and spurned. Ukraine is going to lose this fight, and neither the US nor the EU is actually going to intervene to stop it.
This is a situation of Ukraine’s own making, and now it is their war to lose. Russia has a legitimate national security interest here, and the international right to defend it. They are barely flexing their muscles. Don’t poke the Bear.
Russia isn’t interested in “conquering Ukraine.” That would have been a much easier thing to do. Putin said what the objectives are (and aren’t), and he was telling the truth.
Don’t be fooled by the Western-looking kakhis that they dress Zelenskyy up in – that means no more than a “hoodie” did.
The question now IMHO, is Russia going to consolidate the Donbas and the southern regions near Kherson and consider that enough? Or, are they also going to make a move on Odessa? Will NATO intervene to try and stop the Russians from taking Odessa? It would be a real shame if Odessa was destroyed like Mariupol. I guess we shall see.
At this point the Russians have a battle hardened and well equipped army. They made some costly mistakes at the beginning of the conflict but they have learned their lessons and adapted. From the credible reports that I have read the Russians have kept most of their military in reserve so they can respond to NATO if they need to.
NATO should consider all of that before they act.
Different opinions out there.
Strategically Russia taking Odessa is best interest for Russia.
I do believe Odessa -majority of citizens lean towards Russia.
That is where/what the term “rump” of Ukraine means. It will be landlocked. Perhaps even divided.
We have to just wait and see how it all ends.’
This is complete nonsense. First, this was a brutal war of conquest initiated by Putin, in direct violation of international treaty, for which Putin alone is responsible. Second, the Russian military, in its manifold incompetence, bungled the invasion. Third, despite the righteousness of the Ukrainian cause, it is contrary to U.S national interests to invite a direct war with Russia in Ukraine’s defense. The correct U.S. policy is to make the war as costly to Russia as possible in order to deter further aggression and to possible incite Putin’s overthrow by internal Russian forces.
The US State Dept conducting wars is a REALLY BAD practice of Hillary Clinton that has been carried forward by Democrat corruption to the core of that Department. Wacked out old stupid Nazis, Biden & Obama included, thinking that their corrupt POLITICAL SCIENCE can muscle free-thinking people into scrapping “what works” for flawed crack-pipe dreams, is also a REALLY BAD practice.
When will supposedly “educated” people in America realize the massive SWINDLE they have been subjected to? They shouldn’t be this stupid, but look back at the life & times of the Obama’s, the Clintons and the Bidens! Then look at the MSM owners, media “stars” and advertisers! What a collection of fraud!
Clinton was a tool. Biden is a puppet. Obama’s motives as I see them:
1) Collapse America, from within, into a yet-another NWO nation-state.
2) Amass an unchallenged fortune in the process.
3) Be coronated Tyrant King of the NWO.
.
Like most useful idiots, I suspect the Obama’s will be disposed of in some fashion should the WEF prevail.
Maybe. Or the WEF will need a front man and he is available.
You mean the “stupid smart people”, the one’s who really screw thing up!!!!
We will soon see the rats scurrying away with their pieces of the $40 billion shipped to the Ukrainians by the US uniparty.
Let the Russians have Ukraine!
After that, throw in Poland, Germany, and France!
But, why stop there? Let them have the entire EU!
With Russia as sole supplier of natural gas and oil to Europe, it cannot be long.
Now, now, let’s not be silly please!
This reflects the takeover of our own country, except by cartels, fentanyl, and felon invaders, except without much artillery, save that in our streets, fomented by horrific attacks on innocents.
So Nuland’s war is coming to a close. How much longer does it go on? My guess is that Russia stops at that river.
Zelenskyy could learn a good lesson or two from Jesus:
what king, going out to encounter another king in war,
will not sit down first and deliberate
whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
And if not,
while the other is yet a great way off,
he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.
I suspect he would despise Jesus for this wise observation.
Biden will lose the war in Ukraine.
Would be really shocked if Ukraines ‘oligarchs’ have not back channeled to Russia they are ready to help with the rebuild.

Ukraine is in the strategic interest of the United States but our Southern Border under invasion is not?
“Ukraine Coup by Criminal Obama Admin Exposed”Nuland-Pyatt leaked phone conversation _COMPLETE with SUBTITLES
Did you save that phone call yourself?
I thought YouTube scrubbed it; good if it’s still there.
Ukraine on Fire Documentary by Oliver Stone is also good source of information.
Nuland appears to me as just another bureaucrat who is asking more questions and not really saying anything definitive. She simply doesn’t know what she’s doing and incapable of making a decision. Same goes for the CIA guy.
Two ass kissers who never disagreed with their superiors, so they get promoted by people that are just like them. There is no room in bureaucracy for hard, fast, thoughtful, decision makers. This is why it takes forever to make a decision at governments and large corporations at all levels.
Just picture hard-hitting Mitch McConnell saying something definitive without nuancing it to death. That is why we admired VSGPDT who tells it like it is.
Guess pelosi, schumer etc took too much of that 40 billion and didn’t leave Ukraine much to defend themselves.
Need an audit of where that money went to. Be a great election point to catch some of the criminals in Congress
“Lt. Col. Bosshard: In my view, the Ukrainian army has had no operational freedom of action for quite some time. The furious counterattacks in the Kiev, Kharkov and Nikolaev areas have exhausted their professional formations. Even the arms supplies from the West now, will not quickly restore operational freedom of action. If Russian troops can now divide the main group of the Ukrainian army in the Donbass into several cauldrons and annihilate the troops inside, it means that operational cohesion has also been lost. The Ukrainian government of President Zelenskyy has hardly any military options for action left.”

But at least we have got some great photo ops with the Z with everyone from Bono and Penn to Pelosi and McConnell for our $40$ Billion dollars … probably don’t need to mark it as Sarcasm , but I will… ( sarcasm)
It was so cool how Z gave a speech to Congress in a green t-shirt. It was all neo leadership-like and martial and stuff. I hope he gets Time Man of the Year and the Nobel Peace Prize. His eventual book will probably be better than even Comey’s!
Bet that book deal comes with an 8 digit advance.
Now that we know of all the ‘labs’ in Ukraine, we see why we are promoting this ‘war.’

An interesting read on the Ukraine “mess”…what will our feckless and corrupt CONgress critters do now? Will we send more money that we print out of thin air?

The Ukrainians have been led down the primrose path. Don’t count on any apologies coming from the US or EU.

But, but, I thought Ukrainians were fine, just relaxing at the beach?
Sometimes, Western propaganda is downright strange … but the warfare is concentrated only in the east. Russia is not intent on conquering all of Ukraine – that would have been a much easier thing to do.
make this viral
Have they spent all of the $60 billion yet? And by “they” I mean all of the corrupt money handlers.
How long before the Ukraine military completely abandons Zelenskyy?
The question is: How many Ukrainian troops are trapped in the Severodonetsk cauldron? If enough surrender, this could have the same effect upon Ukraine that the surrender at Stalingrad had upon Germany during World War 2.
We supplied Ukraine with Javelins which neutralized Russian tanks, but the Russians won World War 2 and are winning this war with artillery, not tanks.
Joe goes 0-2 , Afghanistan and now Ukraine. Pivot to Liechtenstein for a win
Every war the Neocons get us involved in is pointless, costly and ultimately ends in failure. It was obvious from the outset that this proxy war was going to be no exception. The only small silver lining to this, at least for me, is that I find it amusing watching these Neocon war criminals slowly coming to grips with the fact that they’ve been the architects of yet another f***-up.
LOL So a bunch of Beta Males like Macron are going to get together do discuss stopping the alpha male putin. Good luck with that. The skinny jeans leaders are going to be embarrassed.
“Putin On The Ritz”
Interesting to see how the media narrative has shifted from “LOL the invasion was botched!” to finally admitting that Russia has superior forces and is patiently and effectively executing its war plan.
The Russians are showing that under the right conditions – their army can pulverize the enemy and advance on a narrow front to seize his terrain. They have not shown that they have the ability to:
Observers ought not be overly impressed by the modest tactical gains made by either side.
The continuation of the war depends upon (a) Russian willingness to endure heavy casualties for limited objectives, and (b) the arrival of NATO weapons to sustain the Ukrainian military. If Ukraine gets the heavy weapons that they want – that could turn out to be a game changer.
Honestly: So what?
2 corrupt actors fighting over the eastern block version of the Alsace is of no interest to the USA.
IMO the only reason this is hyped here in the USA is as a way for the corrupt to grab more money and power from me.
