The constant and strategic pressure by Russian military in eastern Ukraine is slowly and methodically taking more ground each day. Russian troops have now encircled and captured the city of Severodonetsk, which will join Lysychansk under full Russian control within days, according to the Washington Post.
Ukraine forces are running out of supplies as the U.S. State Dept. tries to organize the battle formations on behalf of U.S. interests in the country. The Russian advances are slow, methodical and very deliberate. The Ukraine military is losing ground and Zelenskyy is calling for more western help urgently.
LVIV, Ukraine—The leaders of France, Germany and Italy plan to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv this week, officials said, as reports showed Russia making gains in the country’s east and Ukrainian officials urgently sought arms from Western nations to hold Russian forces at bay.
French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi were planning to visit the Ukrainian capital on Thursday, said two European officials, who cautioned that plans could yet change. The trip would be the first to Ukraine since the beginning of the war for the three Western leaders.
News of the planned meeting came as Ukrainian officials said Russia had made fresh gains in its efforts to encircle and capture the city of Severodonetsk, which would bring Moscow significantly closer to its goal of controlling the Donbas area in the country’s east, its foremost target recently in the war.
Serhiy Haidai, the Ukrainian governor of the Luhansk region, which includes Severodonetsk, said on Sunday that Russians had destroyed a second bridge connecting Severodonetsk to Lysychansk, a Ukrainian stronghold just across the Siverskyi Donets river. Russian forces also shelled a chemical plant in the city’s industrial section, where civilians had taken shelter in bunkers, Mr. Haidai said.
The battlefield advances were the latest evidence that Russia is outgunning Ukrainian forces, using its superior artillery power to steadily take territory. Its gains have thrown added focus onto Ukraine’s pleas for more powerful and longer-range artillery and other weaponry from the West, as well as on Ukraine’s lack of capacity to manufacture ammunition for the Soviet-era heavy weapons in its arsenal. What a contrast to the TikTok like reporting from our media.
(1) Look at that map (*)… the Ukie forces in Severodonetsk and Lysychansk are being encircled by the Russkies coming up from Popasna and south from Bilohorivka to Siversk. That will be some 20,000 of the best troops in Ukraine.
(2) Further NE, look at the Russkies coming down to grab Sloviansk and Kramatorksk and Bakhmut all the way south along Hwy H20. That will encircle another 60K troops.
(3) North, Kharkiv is living on borrowed time.
(4) South, the Uki Nazis have been heavily shelling the civilian residential neighborhoods of the City of Donetsk. No military value in there, just terror. How can the Western Propaganda Machine ignore this is beyond me… these are War Crimes. They are using French provided 155 howitzers with delay fuzes… into residential areas? It’s only a matter of time before the Russkies get their act in there, right now they’ve just been trading very heavy artillery and keeping the Nazis somewhat at bay.
(5) Further South… it’s only a matter of time before Odessa in incorporated into New Russia. The population of Odessa is heavily ethnic Russian too.

The issue is that Lysychansk is a lot cause and the Ukies should have been hightailin’ it out of there like last month, back to hwy H20. They barely have any options now, short of surrendering. The Russkies will encircle them and that will free up lots of their troops to move on West.
But, Zelensky has no issue with sacrificing lives so long as the West pays him billions so he can furnish his Miami mansion and fill it with “Ukrainian Women”, Range Rovers, Ferraris and champagne.

US response to Russian (Soviet tactics) was deep battle. Russian tactics always focused on artillery (the god of war). Interdict fire systems (including logistics) and Russian tactics fall apart. Ukranians are putting up an impressive fight with manpower and material at hand. They have no deep battle assets. If our voting system is not breached again, US resources for their fight will decline with Democrats losing power.
Think this fight is a race between the Russian Army grinding its way through Ukrainian land, people and material vs a total collapse of a Russian Army that is taking unsustainable casualties. Lack of endless US material and Comisars to shoot soldiers and civilians who disagree means the Russian Army does not win battles like the Red Army.

Haidai, the Ukrainian governor is lying. Sevierodonetsk is done, won by Russian forces. The only Ukrainians (estimated to be around 400) are holding civilians hostage in some bunkers at the Azot plant, where the Ukrainians are hiding, completely blocked from any re-supply or withdrawal. If the Russians shelled the plant, it was because they had found the areas where the Ukrainian military was hiding. The Ukrainians are trying to negotiate for the release of the hostages in return for free passage to Lysichansk. Russia has told them that their only choice if they want to live is to lay down weapons and surrender. Some hostages have been released but there are many more, how many is unknown.
Have to read and read to find out what is really going on because the Ukrainian government lies as badly as our government and media. Today, one of Zelensky’s advisors, Arestovich, was photographed at a luxury hotel swimming pool enjoying himself.

I’ll speculate that the Russians will not be so reserved in the destruction once out of the Donbas. Once out of the Donbas there’s no Russian connection to the people and land. The level of destruction you see on TV has been mild. Wait until the Russians go scorched earth in western Ukraine.

My admittedly feeble analysis predicts that Russia will advance to the Dnieper River and halt their advance there and sue for peace with NATO/USA/Ukraine.
The analysis is feeble, since I have only recently been trying to learn about the history and culture in Ukraine, and I am by no means an expert in the history, etc. of the region. Objectively, I am very ignorant about everything Ukraine and Russian.
It is a prediction based on common sense and upon my (limited) understanding of what has been going on in the region in the last 8 years or so.
There may be some land ceded by the Russians around Kviv, since the capital city is on the Western bank of the Dnieper. Having Russia in control on the Eastern bank, might be a sore point.

the “much touted” artillery weapons and MLRS rockets that the west/nato/eu/can/USA supplied are being tasked with defending west of the major north south river in Ukraine..the range for these weapons varies between 15 kilometers and 60 effective kilometer ranges.

However, the placement of these weapons far away from the heated battles and targets of russian strategic goals at this time, means that russia armored divisions will have very few barriers to operate pretty much unchallenged in eastern, southern and northern Ukraine.
Dnieper to the east essentially..but also a security boundary west of Dnieper of about 50 kilometers, give or take.
That will be tested by some of the most impressive western weapons that russia has no answer for.
lets just hope and pray that Russia will ALSO enter into a negotiated settlement soon and just puts the cards on the table now and makes their goals clear and where they expect to gain and what they are also willing to give up on for the sake of a reality that the west will never allow russia to operate any areas west of Dnieper …not even a security buffer.

It is also clear that they will keep going until (for now) they take all land to Moldova including Odessa so they control all the sea on its southern border because the USA has seriously miscalculated.They will not stop and NATO and the US is really powerless to stop them.
