~ The Great Pretense of Biden ~
CTH has been preparing to write about this for a week. Today a serendipitous event took place which highlights the dynamic within the current Biden administration.
During a Senate Energy Committee hearing today, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, a woman specifically appointed for her progressive identity as a native American indian – with no skills to be interior secretary, was questioned by Senator Joe Manchin about a press release [LINK] from the interior department that took place in real time as Secretary Haaland was giving testimony. Secretary Haaland had no idea what the press release was about. WATCH:

The issue surrounds the U.S. Interior Department, which is filled to the brim with left-wing climate activists, pushing out a press release saying that any further oil and gas leases are not going to happen. Secretary Haaland was telling congress the Interior Department was doing everything they can to allow oil and gas leases and expand drilling with additional permitting.
The press release from the dept says the proposal the Secretary was stating “is not a decision to issue specific leases or to authorize any drilling or development,” literally undercutting her testimony in real time, and reaffirming that no further oil drilling will be authorized. Secretary Haaland was caught completely off-guard, stammered and admitted she had no idea what the bureaucrats in the dept were doing.
What this example reveals is something we have noticed and discussed but has become very clear in the past few weeks.
Everything about the Joe Biden presidency is a big game of pretending. The media pretends Biden is running the executive branch, while the people clearly see he is not.
The Biden administration, and even the senior executives within it, are not in control of the functions of government. As with this example of the Interior Dept., the Obama era group used eight years to fill the administrative positions in various agencies with devout ideologues. The activists in the government are running the mechanics of the machinery toward their own ideological objectives.
One clear example came through a little more than a week ago.
On May 10th, Joe Biden delivered a national address on the topic of inflation. [LINK] Within the prepared remarks he read, Biden told the public he was committed to lowering costs by focusing on expanded energy development – to include additional drilling for oil and gas. Literally hours later the Interior Dept cancelled oil/gas leases in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico [LINK], exactly the opposite of the Biden remarks.
As noted by CNN, “The cancellation of the previously planned Cook Inlet sale in Alaska, as well as the lease sales in the Gulf, ensures that millions of acres of offshore waters will not be developed for oil and gas — a significant victory for climate advocates.”
Biden gives a policy speech that is factually undermined within hours by the actions of the Biden administration. The machinery of the government is operating autonomously, without regard for the president or any cabinet official. What happened with Secretary Haaland today is just another example of this.
Joe Biden has no idea who is operating in any executive branch agency. Nor does he have any idea what they are doing, or what their agenda consists of. Biden is irrelevant to the objectives of the ideologues; and he is irrelevant by design. This is why Biden was selected by Obama and then installed by the crew of Chicago activists who have spent their entire life designing a framework of government that operates for their intents regardless of the White House.
We The People are playing this grand game of pretense. It is a Potemkin village, and it is held together in part by a willful media who support the framework. Heck, they even installed a fake White House stage set on the White House grounds to help maintain the pretending.
This house of cards is also tenuous, very unstable. If any media outlet were to ask Joe Biden any generally baseline question like: “who is your interior secretary?” Or “who is your EPA administrator?” The house of cards would collapse visibly because Joe Biden has no idea.
The agenda inside the critical agencies like energy, transportation, interior and EPA, is pre-established and independently operating regardless of policy.
The mechanics of the executive branch are directed by ideological climate-change pilots at the controls. THAT is our reality…

I have slightly different take. The sale of the leases was announced and the corrupt bureaucrats expected the bribes to come pouring in. The sale of the leases was cancelled because negotiations were not as lucrative as expected. The big players in oil and gas cannot negotiate bribes with people so craven that they cannot be trusted. See keystone where billions were invested then lost because the bribes demanded become more than the profit margin on the project.

Remember the lawyers that refused to tell him about the decision they had made without him? Or was it that they lied to Sessions? He was just not up to facing them down. And I recall that when he left they gave him a standing ovation! Unbelievable! Same thing. So Haaland is not making the decisions or controlling anything, is she! Wonder what she is actually doing there and what useless crap she’s working on. Heavy sigh.

That brings up a major problem in our government. Bureaucrats are protected by civil service laws. They can’t be fired unless they really screw up. So, they’re free to do what they want, and they do.
The bureaucrats in these agencies view the political appointees as the temporary help. It is extremely difficult for a cabinet secretary to actually run and control his domain. The State Department is one of the worst offenders. It was evident in the impeachment of President Trump. He had offended the “foreign policy consensus” of the insiders at State, DOD, and the NSC.
The only way to deal with this is large budget cuts so that the employees have to fight for their jobs and are too busy to implement ideologies. Budget cuts are the only way to get federal workers to experience a recession.

Second point, a solid 90% of what actual work is done by the Federal bureaucracy is done by contractors (disclosure: I am one, have been for 30+ years, most of the time sitting in Federal space). The solution path is:
Step one: Don’t execute support contracts to assist the Feds and watch firms like Booz Allen Hamilton, SAIC, Harris and others perish. Also watch the government freeze itself solid.
Step two: A hiring freeze. Don’t replace the federal workforce as they retire. this is not as drastic as it sounds, They really don’t do anything anyway and watch the labor costs rapidly decline.
After the first couple of news cycles, people will begin to realize (much like during the “government shutdowns”) that the Feds don’t really do anything at all and are not needed.
Step three: THEN begin eliminating departments and get back to: Defense, State, Treasury and Justice. It will still be an Augean stables level job clearing the crap out of those, but somewhat easier than dealing with the current larger behemoth.
The only intent is to kill carbon energy by hook or crook. Period.

People don’t care if a brilliant chimp is really running things as long as they aren’t made to suffer for it. He may be in some part of the food chain of power BUT, as PDJT once told a news reader (prior to his leaving office, if you recall), that those in power were worldwide billionaires that few to none would recognize their names. (I am paraphrasing. However, when he made that statement, I was assured that he knew the names and was working on a plan or had a plan.)

for EVERY federal agencies there is a complimentary foundation. Some are referred to as ombudsman. These organizations are 501.c.3 non for profits. The membership withing these orgs are exclusive and not incidental to the political-private relationships. You will find the names of very powerful people who have serious financial interests (investments) in the federal agencies bailiwick.
for instance, there is a CDC foundation. Start there. You will find this is where the strategic brain trust is located and there are links to international contemporaries…and often with nation states that are at odds or direct competitors with the US.
for each federal agency there is such a foundation and the people who are NAMED by the secretary (unelected) wield very powerful influence into the agency mission and priority.

The spook was talking about florida specifically and also “up and down the eastern coast”. I could not quite make out what they were referring to. Perhaps you might want to investigate what problems they are referring to that the trump administration “left them” to deal with.

note: one of the BLM directors is Kornze. Kornze is the CEO of campion fund. It ALSO have a foundation.
You will see if you begin to look at board members of these foundations, what they actually do, and how they are used to launder money from federal agencies into graft and grab programs.
A friend of mine in Hawai’i is looking at some of these foundations associated with specific state agencies. Apparently, these foundations almost always have some link to one or more large investment funds for a specific investor group. The amount of influence in policy from these foundations is directly correlated to how profitable the fund groups become..and of course the members of the various boards. The investigations will show these foundations are essentially laundering operations.

(Yes, I realize it’s dang near impossible to actually fire a civil servant. Perhaps cite a “reorganization initiative” that moves the entire office to North Dakota by morning. Take the reassignment or get out.)
