This is an update to an ongoing issue we started seriously discussing last October when it became clear that if the trajectory was followed, “the absence of food will change things.”
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is continuing to send warnings with increased urgency about the very real possibility of widespread food shortages in regions where food instability is a historic issue. [SEE HERE]
“The war in Ukraine has triggered a sharp increase in energy and food prices that could undermine food security in the region, raise poverty rates, worsen income inequality, and possibly lead to social unrest,” the Fund said in its annual Regional Outlook for Africa.”
This is a recent warning around a topic that has increasingly gained international attention. Indeed, experts in multiple related agricultural fields have openly started to discuss and predict a looming crisis as the majority of the global food supply is contingent on only one or two growing cycles per year for harvest. Those harvests are facing multiple headwinds that could likely result in lower yields.
Against this backdrop we can be certain that all nation’s government interests are taking this issue seriously. Now, we are starting to see a race for supply control by various governments.
WASHINGTON — Ukraine has limited exports of sunflower oil, wheat, oats and cattle in an attempt to protect its war-torn economy. Russia has banned sales of fertilizer, sugar and grains to other nations.
Indonesia, which produces more than half the world’s palm oil, has halted outgoing shipments. Turkey has stopped exports of butter, beef, lamb, goats, maize and vegetable oils.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has unleashed a new wave of protectionism as governments, desperate to secure food and other commodities for their citizens amid shortages and rising prices, erect new barriers to stop exports at their borders.
[…] Export restrictions are making grains, oils, meat and fertilizer — already at record prices — more expensive and even harder to come by. That is placing an even greater burden on the world’s poor, who are paying an ever-larger share of their income for food, increasing the risk of social unrest in poorer countries struggling with food insecurity.
Since the beginning of the year, countries have imposed a total of 47 export curbs on food and fertilizers — with 43 of those put in place since the invasion of Ukraine in late February, according to tracking by Simon Evenett, a professor of international trade and economic development at the University of St. Gallen. (read more)
With all of this global concern over food production and food instability, one might ask why our own government is not doing everything possible to increase farm yields in the U.S. this year.
Instead, Joe Biden is asking for another $33 billion to pay for the salaries and pensions of the Ukraine government.
Go figure.
Chemical fertilizer is not the only way to grow plants.
Korean Natural Farming and JADAM organic farming both have ways of taking a small amount of plant matter and turning it into a lot of organic fertilizer.
Biodynamic Farming. Has some ideas that seem unscientific, but enough people say it worked for them that I’m including it here.
Plant diversity. When groundwater slowly travels downslope under your garden, plant roots have a chance of catching the nutrients in the water. Many nutrients are lost when there is only one type of plant root in the soil. Taproots miss out on nutrients that fibrous roots are good at catching. Shallow roots miss what deep roots can get.
Weeds. Chop n drop or plow under. Some people think that weeds are more likely when the soil is out of whack, and by letting the weeds provide nutrients to the soil, it balances out the soil. Like pioneer species of plants paving the way for the next plants. (And other people think that this just produces more weeds.)
Compost.
Livestock manure. A) graze animals for a while then switch over to a garden once the soil has processed the manure. Or B) for orchards, graze animals between trees. C) Buy truckloads of composted manure.
Trap silt carried by surface water runoff. Slow it, spread it, sink it.
For compacted soil, try placing lines of stone on contour. Or planting bunch grass on contour. Or bushes or trees. What this does is slows the water down and lets the silt settle.
Those are just some ideas that might be worth looking into. Well wishes to all farmers and gardeners. And hunters, ranchers, fishers.
Bread from Stones. May have to finally look at alternatives since part of the “Build Back Better” plan is to create shortages of Chemical fertilizers.
Even if we lose 200 million this year due to starvation, it is just a drop in the bucket of world population. It means there will 200 million less to feed the following year. Famine has always been a natural form of keeping the human population under control.
Remove industrial farming, and way more than that would be dead!
The tripod of human population control is war, disease and famine. Improvements in medical technology and lack of war pushes population control to the remaining leg of the tripod, famine.
200 million of an 8 billion population is only 2.5%.
Hopefully nobody in your family suffers such a horrible end.
May I suggest bill gates show us how it’s done.
He did, his vaccines sterilize some people and caused miscarriages.
Indeed. Why does one think the Indian government sued that little egomaniacal bastard?
If none of the 200 million include you, your family, and friends, then I guess you feel okay calling it “ONLY” 2.5 %.
Drugs??
Quoting the Ghose of Christmas Past’s words to Ebenezer Scrooge: “Send them to poorhouses and reduce the surplus population? Indeed, in the eyes of the Lord God, YOU, Ebenezer, may be the surplus population”. Be careful who you offhandedly sentence to death, friend.
Wealthy countries also start to lose population if you exclude immigration. That would maybe be better.
But industrial farming will ruin the land eventually, and often relies on pumped water, which is diminishing rapidly…it won’t last…
I heard we may have reached our population peak? Bc of various reasons but mostly bc wo,en can control their reproductive health? No idea if Jordan Peterson podcast is correct?
Government can control a woman’s desire to have children by creating a world that women do not want children to grow up in.
The government also brainwashed women into believing that being a wife and a mother is demeaning and beneath their superior intellect and potential.
At the same time, the government via covert messaging through the cultural institutions that gradually but steadily persuaded men to become spineless video game-playing, drug-taking, cellar-dwelling, self-centered wimps instead of working diligently while being strong fathers and husbands whose role on earth is to provide for and protect their families while also being their family’s spiritual leader.
And so many wonder why this nation is circling the drain…
Teaching boys they are girls and girls they are boys will also scew up reproduction.
In no Western country is the population increasing… If you remove the pigmented migrants from the total.
Africa, India and all moslem sh.. erm countries need a eugenics program. Birth control.
And that is key to the fake environmental movement. Environmental Science 101. Human population growth is the #1 factor for environmental degradation, increased green house gases, pollution, and wildlife decline, yet they say nothing against immigration while brainwashing their brainwashed followers to have 1 or no kids to protect the environment, while allowing in millions of high birth rate third world invaders in. The Watermelons are frauds and mentally ill
May you be in the chosen 200 million, Comrade Dilbert
I think population control is the globalist plan…they think there are too many useless eaters. Evil people.
Who is “we”? Most countries can’t feed themselves, but the US can, if it’s allowed to…
We have horses. And we have aged horse manure. Every spring and every fall, we offer it to folks for free. On our previous place we used it all.
So far, after nine years at our current location, two takers. That’s it.
It is chemical free, weed free, and rich dark earth. We use it ourselves, and everyone remarks how lovely our trees and roses are. I tell them, it’s the manure. But to haul the manure, even though we will bag it for them, is just too much work. They smile and say, “I use Miracle Gro.”
Free, organic, high quality fertilizer. All they have to do is haul it, but they choose Miracle Gro instead? Yowzer.
Unfortunately so few people know that a healthy, sustainable soil needs organic matter and humic acids, which Chemical fertilizers could never provide.
Once the humus is built it will last many years.
It is the components that do not decay very well.
Humus provides things too complex to discuss here.
You can do without humus and soil altogether if the nutrients are there.
I have seen operations with fish and plants using the same water.
Get yourself a few IBC totes and you will have fish and vegies, if you can keep the power on.
We get horse manure from local stable but we’re very careful bc there are articles about ruining your garden with it. Supposedly today (in 70s we didn’t worry, our hay was fine), hay can be treated with herbicide while growing and if it is in the manure, it will harm your garden plants and all soil will have to be removed and replaced. Idk if this is accurate? The soil we get inPennsylvania is from local nursery and called‘mushroom’ soil. It is more trustworthy.
Also, pickup trucks are no longer cheap working man vehicles. We can’t afford one. We pull a trailer with my old civic. Idk anyone with a work truck who would put loose horse poop in the back. I think manure is great fertilizer and our local dairy puts its slurry on its corn fields. Hope this helps a bit? Idk if the article is true but I would be devastated if my garden beds suddenly became herbicidal maniacs!
I have never had an issue.
However: https://content.ces.ncsu.edu/herbicide-carryover
Do not use 2-4-D within sight of tomatoes, potatoes, or any of the night shade family. The vapor will get them good.
My manure is from pampered polo horses so it not even stink….;)
If you grow herbs with natural insecticides you can make your own.
Be careful with crotalaria as it is toxic to livestock. Seeds are viable in the ground for 50 to 60 years.
Get a book on weeds as some are desirable, but control the seeds.
One year of seeds is seven years of weeds!
We used to buy bags of horse manure from a farm a few miles away, for $5 a bag.
They stopped selling it two years ago.
If you are in northern Minnesota I’ll be your third taker!
They’ll probably come back when there is no Miracle Gro!
Incredible stuff for gardens. that sh!t really works
I have posted before that I take manure from my neighbors show horses, spread it out in a plot, I then spread a few bales of coastal hay evenly over top and burn it, Voila! Bio-char! After roto-tilling the carbon in it’s ready to rock and roll.
Well in Colo they’re now using human composting. Soylent green on the way.
Yuck, with all the vaccines and meds in them. That is horrible news….
Bingo
Milorganite was used on ball fields, lawns, golf courses decades ago. Milwaukee sewer waste.
Most humans are omnivores/carnivores. As such the solid waste is full of far more biology & chemistry than is safe for food gardens.
Most petro chemical fertilizers end up in the river where I live.
Survival of Civilization John Hamaker.
Don’t fault them too much, I have access to unlimited quantities of horse manure composted and mixed with shavings, fresh as well.
It is no small task to break it up, load up a ton and spread it when you get it home.
I have used 10 to 12 loads a year hauled from 10 miles away.
This is also a pretty big investment of time.
As the soil has built up, less fully composted is needed and some fresh is preferred for the higher Nitrogen content.
I also mix the fresh with the 350 cubic feet of compacted leaves my trees provide.
This is also a large time investment to gather, haul and mix.
Not every one has the strength to do this.
Some prefer to buy a gym member ship and fertilizer.
Korean Natural Farming and JADAM organic farming both have ways of taking a small amount of plant matter and turning it into a lot of organic fertilizer.
I just started a fresh batch of fermented plant juice (FPJ) today. I also use LABs and the calcium from eggshells in vinegar.
What if you end up fermenting botrytis?
I guess you have never farmed a crop that gets taken over by weeds. Weeds are called “weeds’ for a reason and it isn’t because weeds are fertilizer.
Regardless of what a plant is called, it’s still a plant. Weeds are organic matter. They can decompose into food for the soil.
I think it works best when paired with other approaches. Like trying to make the farm a balanced ecosystem. If there is an empty niche being filled by a weed, that would mean figuring out what it is. So if the a weed has fibrous roots, then replacing it with a useful crop that has fibrous roots.
And using JADAM methods or composting tea methods, with the weeds in question as ingredients.
There is a farmer in North Dakota who plants corn, beans and pasture grass in the same field. The corn is harvested first. Then the beans grow. After the beans are harvested he puts cattle on the field. He says he has very few weeds with this method. And can still use mechanical harvesting.
I have no idea the scale of his operation. Everyone has used cover crops. The issue is that it takes inputs to break down the cover crop which means less production of the cash crop. We have all tried it and if it economically worked, believe me it would be standard procedure in the Central Valley of California. We do have to alternat crops after a few years because one crop will “wear out” the soil and another type of crop has to be substituted to reclaim the soil. We call it this field has to “rest for a while”.
I do appreciate you taking an interest and willingness to learn something about it.
He farms over a thousand acres.
https://www.csuchico.edu/regenerativeagriculture/demos/gabe-brown.shtml
If you don’t mind, what did you mean by cover crops requiring inputs to break down?
All plants need nitrogen to break themselves down. If you come back too soon with your cash crop, your cash crop will not have the necessary nitrogen to produce an economic yield. Your North Dakota farmer is using a crop rotation program on his farm of 1,000 acres. Which works for him and his family’s standard of living.
It depends whether he owns his property without debt and can afford the “luxury” of less per acre intensity. Whether he has irrigation costs or can “dry farm”. What works for one farming operation may be a total disaster for another farming situation.
I know because I have farmed in different farming regions and one of the biggest mistakes is to think what works for you “here” is going to work for you “there”. I learned very quickly when in Rome do as the Romans. Yes, you can do innovations but you better be very cautious or else “You are quickly out of there”.
Shasta County Calif. The county ag. recommended buckwheat & fava bean in a years rotation to loosen & enrich the red clay type soil in this area.
He switches between pasture and livestock. The livestock deposits nitrogen when they urinate. The grass they eat isn’t too hard on the farm.
You’re right about the corn-bean-grass thing not working everywhere. Some of his fields have different crop rotations, that was just one example. I should have clarified on that.
Totally agree about when in Rome when it comes to specifics. When it comes to general philosophies, if it’s in sync with the laws of nature in one place, then it is in another place, too.
So if “balanced ecosystem” is a good mindset because of the laws of nature (emphasis on if) then trying to achieve that is good anywhere. The specific plants would vary from farm to farm.
Thanks for informing me about plants needing nitrogen to break down.
Not all weeds are the same. Some are not the same in a growing season if they have seeds that do not decompose but rather re-sow. You can use them before seeds. Or.. You can end up with nice crop of weeds that choke out your crops and deplete your soil. Only some plants are living green fertilizer. We have a compost heap and it is deadest part of our garden. I have no idea why nothing grows on it. We also had too much nitrogen in our new organic soil last year and only grew beet tops! …amongst other telling signs. We can’t apply our specific knowledge to another’s fields with accuracy. We test our own soil from year to year….
Have you ever tried corn gluten? It is a natural pre-emergent weed killer. Apply 3 times the first year, twice the second, once the next and no more weeds. I’ve used it now for two seasons and it sure seems to work.
Interesting Ann. Ty.
Pros and Cons… a weed preventer but doesn’t kill existing weeds. That lends credibility to Ann’s recommended procedure.

Good points.
You cant turn any organic matter into bio-char with 1 35 gallon and 1 55 gallon steel drums. Weeds are great fert if you neutralize the seeds.
Thank you for sharing these techniques. I maintain a small compost pile: 50% dry leaves and grasses, 50% green kitchen scraps from vegetables, fruit peels etc..This compost is improving the soil in my garden, by adding organic matter that no chemical fertilizer could.
We also add coffee grounds to ours.
And don’t forget fireplace ashes. We use that too.
Until the early 1930s all food was grown using natural (organic) fertilizers. Go figure.
Compare the pounds of Nitrogen per pound of manure and yields per acer.
In the 1700’s the ploughs were forged by hand and an animal pulled them.
Even lower yields.
More farmers and less people per farmer.
And higher relative prices for food.
A lot fewer gardens now too.
Go to Hybrid Agri channel on YT. He’s a Regenerative Agricultural specialist, and he incorporates Korean techniques with others, and basically turns desert and wasteland into growing areas. It’s amazing.
What scale in terms of acres?
An acre at a time my friend. I grew up in SE Idaho and spent many years working potato and barley fields.
The article is about a shortage of food produced by large scale Industrial Farmers, providing food for export. The use of modern equipment takes fuel; +the industrially produced fertilizers applied to the fields. … The smaller scale farming techniques can be used to feed a smaller population. ~Billions of people rely on food produced by modern Industrial Farmers. … American farming and food production is amazing; both in the size of fields and equipment used, but also in all the hard work, and the amount of food produced.
Our main health problem in America is obesity. In many other places, the health problem is starvation. … Keeping a large percentage of the population on the verge of starvation makes for easier control of the people (a decision made by many dictators).
…… Charity by the American people depends upon America’s abundance. There is currently a planned series of events to reduce American abundance and wealth. … +Unfortunately, people now days think, ‘There are too many people in the world’ ~ ‘We ~need the death of a lot of people, as long as it’s someone else.’
[The ‘elites’ have unleashed massive death on the world’s population by starvation.]
God have Mercy!
Honestly I think much of our obesity is multi-factorial (Sorry if that ain’t a word.) With some diseases the body grows fat on a starvation diet (Cushings); weakening bones due to age or disease, improper nutrition – the body wisely chooses to protect those bones with padding. Chemicals, other additives (potassium bromate) that function for the profit but not our health. Some immigrants like to ridicule the sickly Americans thinking that they come from superior stock but I tell them if they stay, eat our food, take our vaccines etc., they will lose that edge. Right now I am converting back to animal fat vs seed oils to see what happens. Doctors fault us for getting fat and impugn our character but in my opinion there is some healthy fat but most fat is a sign of disease and not easily lost. Drs say if you don’t lose the weight you will get cancer. I think that the weight gain can mean that the cancer is already there but their tests aren’t designed to detect it that early. Personally I view obesity as a sign of a starving body – starving for the correct nutrition. My body forces me to eat even when I am not hungry – forces with excruciating all over pain. This a symptom unknown to doctors and rather than admitting as much they rather create business for a friend and send you to a psych to waste endless time navel contemplating in the hopes you get heart or cancer . . . I truly believe that our current health system is just as corrupt and evil as everything else and needs total overhaul.
Last I checked, med school has approximately two hours of training in nutrition. The rest is drug pushing.
First, this is not an attempt at diagnosing you. I’m simply pointing out how nutrient-diminished food can make someone have to eat more carbs than they burn.
If someone is starving for trace nutrients, then carbs, fat and protein won’t be enough. If that apple is nutrient dense, then you get lots of minerals and vitamins per bite. Fewer bites needed to fill your daily quota of minerals and vitamins.
The reverse is true for an apple with hardly any vitamins and minerals. You still get the same carbs per bite. But now more bites are needed to get the same amount of trace nutrients.
Sri Lanka’s government banned inorganic fertilizer and mandated that all farming conform to organic practices. In ONE year they went from being a net exporter of rice to a net importer.
https://www.tamilguardian.com/content/sri-lankas-usd-200-million-farmer-compensation-scheme-does-not-pay-all-farmers
Can’t just ban what people know and expect them to magically acquire the skills needed for the alternatives.
Hmm…that sounds similar to the argument for socialism…haha. But seriously, You’re operating from an erroneous assumption. They have the skills, but OG simply cannot produce the same yield. It always takes more space. Always. Full stop.
It’s good on the small scale(I grow organic), but cannot truly feed the masses.
Learning takes time. These farmers didn’t have time to learn anything new but still had to perform. Socialists have had over a hundred years.
There are successful large scale organic farmers. Polyface Farms in Virginia. New Forest Farms in Wisconsin. Gabe Brown’s 5000 acres in ND (1700 of his own, the rest leased from neighbors). Miracle Farms in Quebec is regular scale for a U-Pick.
When you say argument for socialism, do you mean how leftists claim that “socialism works, it’s just never been implemented correctly”?
And were you implying that if something else fails, like widescale farming operations in one country, then it can’t have anything to do with implementation?
What are the laws, regulations, and standards of inspection like in Sri Lanka? How did farmers handle the switch from dead dirt to a system that requires living soil? Do restaurants and grocery stores throw out expired food that could be instead be sold as compost? What techniques do they know?
Maybe that cow manure can be “recycled” and save the day.
I’d not thought of mixing your plants for different root lengths.
Makes one wonder what knowledge has been lost with industrial farming.
Manure is highly effective fertilizer…therefore banned by the DeptAg in most cases…They want to make you eat factory food or starve….
Thank you for posting viable methods that worked in our nation a century ago, and still work today is the so-called less developed nations.
I recall talking with farmers who went through the depression. Most I knew, did not notice much of a change.
Hunting and fishing became serious business and not a sporting diversion.
Did more bartering because specie was scarce.
Specie is gold and silver coinage, money, not Federal reserve Notes, which are not money at all, just Legal Tender. Like tree bark and a signature.
Those in debt suffered because of the money supply and a lot of farms were taken. Taxes took others.
You think we can go back to the, oh lets just say the 30’s and feed the country? Yields down in the 20 to 30 bushels an acer?
Do you have any idea how many people there are now per farmer?
We do not have enough people who at best know to grow a garden to turn into farmers.
Then you need the equipment and infrastructure.
The land has to be cleared and houses for the farmer to live in. You do not commute to the farm, you live on it.
So, you want to use manure as the fertilizer? Ask your local Hank Kimble how many pounds of Nitrogen is required per acer to get the 200 bushel yield. Then what about the other minerals needed.
How many trees will you need to burn to get the Potassium Hydroxide to keep the PHAA in balance?
Herbicides and insecticides, what you going to do for them?
Look a the prices for standard fare and “organic”. There is a reason for the difference.
I have a 1/4 acer garden in wide raised beds and make it through a year with very little chemicals. However, this requires about 10% of the garden to be in certain flowers and herbs, as well as rotations and companion planting. It took 4 or 5 years to get me and the land to this point.
You cannot do this on a commercial basis. To much hand work. I do not need a gym membership or to spend any leasure time walking aimlessly around.
In a 100 acer field, you cannot plant the three sisters, along with the flowers and herbs by throwing a mix of seeds in the planter.
I get 2.5 crops of beans out of one bed by planting the next before the last has finished. I cut the plants of the last as he next are emerging. The fall crops go in before the last beans are done and the first planting of beans go in before the spring crop if done. Never have to till as I do not walk in the beds.
You cannot do this in a 100 acer field. At best you will get 3 separate crops a year, if the weather is right.
And you will most likely need to plough / disk at least twice a year.
Farmer John, jump in here with some expertise.
Perhaps you intend for everyone to have a Victory Garden. I see where they are beginning to be called Liberty Gardens by those separating front the system.
If we see 250,000 acers of garden put in over the next year, can we produce the rakes and shovels and other implements of destruction?
That first year will require a lot of fertilizer and other “amendments”. Will take a few years to build a good humus.
How about the books, so bubba the hub cap putter-oner, stinky the factory floor sweeper, or that most useless DOT clerk we all love to deal with can learn a new or a skill.
Have you noticed the seed supplies drying up? That skill is a whole nuther issue.
Those high yields we enjoy are from hybrid seeds, not open pollinated varieties.
Now, to keep a garden to feed a family of say 5 you will need at least 1/4 acer, preferably two or 3 as you will need to feed your chickens and goats that you will need to overwinter if you want some milk.
Kind Reader, Methinks I hear thee say, let my neighbor Joe, and Joey keep the chickens, and Bill, and Harry the cows, John and Sam the sheep.
Charles, Ken, James and I will keep the garden and there by there be food aplenty.
Folks, that is what we are doing now, division of labor
Unless you want to spend you every waking hour working at a job or in a garden, or tending the animals, or pay 75% of you pay for food, you will have to keep the present system.
However, best at least put in a 12 X 12 patch and learn something useful.
Argh. This addition to the “seems they’re trying to starve us to death” file is infuriating.
Millions of bees that were transported on a Delta flight died in extreme heat after being left on the tarmac in Atlanta
Bees have been dying off for several years now. Sort of make one wonder how much foreign spray has been used to try and kill them off. It would appear that the B.G. machine has been trying for years to cut us down…..but then why are they allowing all the illegals into the nation? If they want us gone, the china flue was a good start….now they are trying to get rid of the kiddies that are on the way or left over it appears. Better load up with paint brushes so you can pollinate all the flowers for veggies and such. No such thing as flowers. Gubermnent would not allow such a frivolity as flowers.
There has been talk of them trying to destroy photosynthesis
Our local radio pest control guy says ants pollinate more than bees.
Varroa mites, wax moths, and hive beetles are a growing problem.
Bee keeping is an art and science.
The shipment of bees is note worthy only because of the food production plant fires. However, the ones I chased down were not note worthy, simply fires. Could be wrong….
I tried to keep bees and had two issues, First, so few survived the branding.
Then the queen turned out to be a whore and started running with a horse fly, the honey started tasting like manure and I just couldn’t sell it.
I had just said there is loads of Clover around me and no Bees pollinating them. remember “Clover Honey”. My Viburnums are blooming and almost zero pollinators on them
Plenty of pollinators in south GA….however, my dog Beasley eats the bees! He was named after a friend, but it sure worked out to be apropos!
He probably thinks they’re jalapeño flies.
….” More than five million honeybees were left to die in the hot sun, after a Delta Airlines shipment bound for Alaska was diverted and left on hot tarmac in Atlanta.
There, more than 300 beekeepers were waiting for their pollination services in apple orchards.”……
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-10768549/Millions-honeybees-left-bake-death-crate.html
I believe Delta proffered a prompt “oops.”
Our epitaph?
Delta sucks, in all areas.
😬Apple storage incoming
It sickens me what happens to these lovely creatures. I love bees and pollinators of all types. Every summer we allow the native heliopsis to grow. In the mornings, I love standing, surrounded by them, some are over four feet tall, and I will just listen to the pollinators buzzing and humming. The scent of the flowers a heady affirmation of the wonder of this amazing planet we live on.
I feel the same way. I’ve loved nature and being a Naturalist since I was a kid. That’s why I reserve a special enmity for the fake environmental organizations and their brainwashed followers. Destroying Nature while pretending to be saving it
100%, and same here, I love nature and despise the fake environmentalist traveling in private jets for climate change conferences, lol
Yes, we have cherry, apple, pear, plum and apricof trees.
They veritably hum on warmer days.
Unfortunately it has gotten rather chilly during the cherry blossom for two years now, so harvest is scant. We are now cross-grafting to better pollinate in the few warm hours.
Obviously you have never been swarmed! Our neighbors have hives and received an African queen who promptly absconded and set up wild hive. You can survive a swarm by hiding in dense shrubbery or seeking shelter. Ponds are not shelter bc you can’t breathe underwater and they will hover above watching for you.
once in safe place, try not to panic, carefully roll off your clothes a piece at a time trapping bees inside and tossing them outside and shutting your door quickly to lock them out. Take Benadryl if you can and get to hospital if you think you need to go.
yes. I was swarmed. Only a few dozen stings but my kids were awakened to a bellering mom in her skivvies in the kitchen begging them to help find the last bees in my hair. My neighbor mowed a hive. She was swarmed all the way to her house an acre away. Ended up in hospital and several hours later the bees were still hovering around her mower. Bees are romantic in theory, deadly easily enough for anyone who accidentally disturbs them.
If you mowed a hive those were not honey bees. Neve seen them go under ground.
I could not hide in the bushes but but I did run through all I came too and and keep making turns when I came out to through them off the trail. Took me about 500 yards.
And chew that Benadryl and take it with coffee or a BC / Goodies powder.
I feel the same way, too.
My husband has been a Bee keep for years. In northern Minnesota he has, from time-to-time, been able to over-winter them. This past winter — which is still hanging on with large mounds of snow still covering most of our property — the Bees, along with most of our young apple trees, died. The honey remains in the hives.
I’ve never minded honey Bees landing on me; I like when they do that.
Wasps are another thing, and since many people don’t know the difference between a honey Bee and a Wasp, they’ll kill them all.
I use honey bees to help sore joints. Hold a few bee against, say, your elbow and let them sting you.
Allow the stinger to finish pumping.
Do not do this at the hive. Pick them off of a spot of honey you put on plate near plants they are working on..
DELTIFA is WOKE, took in multi-millions from our corrupt swamp early in the Covid scheme, and proudly became an un-masked / un-vaxed bully to passengers, and the terminator of pilots, stewards, and reservations personnel.
The shortages of ANYTHING we have experienced, or will experience, have been planned.
The excuses they give, like covid or ukraine, were planned well in advance. These people need to be removed by any means necessary. They are true menaces to society.
Correct, and more specifically, it is not nature causing these issues, it is government and governmental policies causing the issues.
I keep saying Sledgehammer Joe hates us. Hates America but wants to rule it with an iron fist.
And, just like the oil, I’m sure they’ll ship our food somewhere else, since we’re evil racists who don’t deserve food. (They themselves will magically never run out of food, of course).
They will call it “food EQUITY”, and just as they insist ob spending $50 billion and counting, of “our tax dollars” to ‘protect Ukraines soveriegnity (borders) they spend our tax dollars to ship incoming illegals throughout the country,..
They will INSIST that WE must go without, so they can ship food produced here, to other countries that have still not gotten their act together, for an agrarian economy.
hmmmmm…..more mouths coming in over the Southern border…..more food shipped overseas.
What could possibly happen to food prices during an era of supply chain shortages and energy mismanagement?
Don’t tell the stoners there is a weed shortage coming ……
AHAAAAAAAAAAA
Not to worry. A lot of those folks grow inside using hydroponics.
When nuclear weapons are used, food distribution will be halted as an emergency measure to prevent radiation poisoning. If there is doubt that there was a nuclear event they will err on the side of precaution and act as if there was one. If there is minimal danger from a nuclear event they will exaggerate a non-existent or minimal danger and close down whatever agricultural activity and transportation exists. For these reasons a nuclear confrontation will be encouraged, not discouraged.
Good theory. Makes sense.
I’m curious to know what critical food and fuel resources biden is exporting, and to whom
Read the book “Humanure handbook” for an eye opener.
Yes, if properly done its perfectly safe, and produces top grade fertiliser.
It also spends a chapter on how we “normally” treat that which should be SHipped High In Transit, and yes, thats where the name comes from.
Bottom line, our system with sewers, and treatment plants is neither the most ecological nor economically viable system, its only real selling point, is its out of view.
Also, read up on AQUAPONICS; infinetly scalable, from a small tabletop unit, to a apt. balcony, to a yard or farm.
Yields not only fruits and veggies, but FISH to eat.
“I’m going to have to science the **** out of this”?
Of course, this can be interpreted in more than one way!
Plandemic 2.0?
This has been planned for a LONG time, we are just now catching on. A global controlled food system.
https://www.coreysdigs.com/global/new-controlled-food-system-is-now-in-place-and-they-will-stop-at-nothing-to-accelerate-their-control/
Great article, vaccine lettuce anyone?
Our southern border will then see more and more people, and Joe will leave it open.
More and more Greenhouse gas emitting, wildlife habitat destroying, polluting invaders!
Tithonia leaves are over 20% nitrogen!!!
Around The world nothing But propaganda Globalism Government and medias,
anyway America had The Best farm lands, yet we have food shortages,
what a bunch of liar damn corruption of fake president Biden and he’s Globalism Buddys, especially communist china,
Which means FJB will be sending FIB door to door to confiscate food to share with the world- you know our damn duty.
Meanwhile just in- more BS approved by the Ministry of Truth.
Don’t doubt they will eventually get to food confiscation. Don’t let anyone see or know about your food supplies. Keep clothes that are too big for you and your family so it looks like you are losing weight. Use all ration cards and stand in line for food like everyone else.
If growing food, plant a lot of ground cover crops and other things the idiots they send around won’t recognize.
Pay cash right now for anything you buy.
I’m planting more kale and broccoli this morning and running two more batches of pork and chicken through the pressure canner today… that’s two more weeks of food for the basement pantry. I hope everyone else is preparing too. We’re going to need it.
As soon as I saw news ramping up about some major virus coming out of Wuhan in Dec 2019, I started stocking up. I’d just returned home after being overseas for much of the past 25 years… I’d been waiting to see what 2020 would bring for many years — after having run across the Club of Rome press blitz in 1973 about how Science had proven global civilization would sharply turn to collapse in a specific year – 2020.
2020 – 2030 – 2040 have come up again + again in UN + Think Tank documents about both Doomsday + Utopian Changes events.
More recently, in 2016, Leo Zagami wrote a whole book warning that the highest levels of the secret societies were chattering about 2020 + the great take over of humanity…
The Club of Rome predicted it would take them until 2040 to completely wipe us out to where they want us….
I thought we’d see individual hoarding – a run on the supermarkets – like the Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020 – before national hoarding but was sure it was coming. It will get much (MUCH) worse.
Greg Reese over at InfoWars has a pretty good short report up on how Bill Gates + Monsonto + the Futurist/Green Industry farmers have positioned themselves to —— be the biggest benefices of the coming Hunger Games…
It appears all these government orchestrated body blows to the Food Supply Chain are designed to —- cause a massive global famine — out of which —- Gates + the Super Friends will come soaring to the rescue —- with new farming techniques + recently built facilities ——- and a heck of a lot of —– genetically altered food stuffs —- like, for example — lettuce that contains —– vaccines for humans……
We are fully in The Days of Noah.
All Flesh is being corrupted now at a lightening pace.
God —- when will You step in…?
Luke 21
The Elite-orchestrated Famines + Pestilence will cause numerous (civil) wars + armed conflicts as masses of people begin moving to find a new homeland like we haven’t witnessed since the hoards roamed across Eurasia at the fall of the Roman Empire.
I’m hoping the Earthquakes happen in such a manner that it leaves no doubt God is stepping in (finally) rather than being just another result of the tools of Death the Elites have prepared for this great culling of the human species…
Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
Thanks for your good words, Iggyb!
I see now why everyone who participates in the Beast System will be accursed. Look how horribly everyone going along with this evil is already behaving. They support the Satanic NWO but don’t know it yet.
The Transhumanist Elites envision merging with machines to gain immortality + omnipotence. The Bible says a time will come when people will flee to their caves/bunkers but then beg for death which will not come as they face the horrors God will unleash from heaven upon creation. I don’t think that will happen until near the end of the 1,000 years in which Jesus will reign over the Earth but the part about hiding in luxury bunkers, unable to die, but terrified about God’s Wrath is highly interesting if you see what the Transhumanist say they are on the verge of achieving.
Look up Canadian Earthquake Researcher on Twitter. He’s predicting a worldwide earthquake as soon as September, due to plate blocking in the Phillipines. I think it will go longer since that’s the 6th seal. Gotta lose 1/4 of the population first in seals 1 through 4.
For those of you who burn wood for heat, tree bark is excellent ‘free’organic matter. I use straw to mulch the planting rows and tree bark in between the rows to walk on. Bark holds moisture and breaks down pretty quickly. After harvesting, rake the bark where you had your planting rows and plant new rows where the bark was. Basically, shift your rows two feet over. This really makes some great soil to grow in.
Be careful with straw how you source the straw. The herbicide Atrazine is found in some products used on hay and sorghum fields. It is used to eliminate broadleaf weeds. It contaminates the hay and gets into the soil. Atrazine passes through an animal’s gut unchanged and contaminates the manure. Anecdotally, organic gardens have been lost to unwitting additions of Atrazine by gardeners using straw or manure. It can take about three seasons before the bad effects subside enough to be able to use the same plot successfully.
Atrazine also is recommended to combat dollar weed in the lawns here in the South.
I haven’t had trouble with herbicides in my straw, it’s from winter wheat so that probably doesn’t need it. Good point about the manure, I have heard of problems with that if it hasn’t been composted.
Communists using one of their historically favorite methods of taking control – starvation. What’s new here?
They are doing this by stealth.
The Soviets ran through the fields openly destroying things. Same end; different methods.
Selling our farmland to China!!!!
Their ultimate goal – every human being, every piece of food, resource, and product on this planet will be tracked and traced via blockchain. This isn’t a theory – it is their goal.
It’s called vertical farming, CRISPR-Cas9 gene-edited produce product. A plant-based mRNA vaccine. The USDA and FDA have already approved lab grown meat, genetically modified cattle, and are funding the globalists to research and develop cellular agriculture as well as indoor growers and genetics companies, while they slack on regulations.

I cannot believe all the farming Libtards on this website tell us how to farm with their cockamamie. Roughly 65% to 95% of the Nations; produce, fruits and nuts are grown within a 100-mile radius where I farmed and live. I don’t know of one “Industrial” farm as just one example of misinformation being spewed.
The farmers today are highly educated college graduates with degrees in the study of Agricultural Science, Animal husbandry, Agricultural Business. Farming has always been unique to farm regions. “One size” so to speak does not fit all.
Believe me, all farmers are instantly aware of the latest greatest innovations related to Agriculture and it sure doesn’t come from “do-gooder” Libtards growing gardens on window sills.
Soon to be followed by energy protectionism, I’m sure…The US, which is a net importer of large amounts of oil, needs to stop exporting LNG and other energy products, as well as food…But I’m sure the Cabal will prefer to give it to their favorite crooks in foreign countries….
Go Figure ???🙉🙈🙊
No rational adult with the cognitive ability to think for themselves can only conclude this is deliberate ! The flood of information available at your finger tips now should give anyone a clue that the leftist parasites now in key positions around the world especially the absolutely corrupted pathetic individuals that occupy American government at all levels Federal State & Local !
The success and security of the US and average American citizens is not even on their to do list even as an after thought !
They have bankrupted us economically and morally now they are diluting and dividing us to starve and kill us .
That’s their plan , some know it and most couldn’t care less as long as their direct deposit shows up and their bribes !
