The Tennessee Republican Club has met to decide who they will permit on the ballot. Morgan Ortagus, Baxter Lee and Robby Starbuck have been disavowed by the TN Club for being unworthy candidates according to private rules within the assembly. Mitch McConnell smiles.
There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution which outlines or supports the use of political clubs to create political parties for candidates for office. This is one of the lesser-known facets to U.S. elections.
The Republican and Democrat parties are private clubs with internal rules that operate within the system for elections. Each club chapter can make up their own rules and select candidates for approval based on their own qualifications.
TENNESSEE – The Tennessee Republican Party has removed three candidates, including one endorsed by former President Trump, from the primary ballot for one of the state’s House races.
The Tennessee Republican Party voted on Tuesday to dismiss Trump-backed Morgan Ortagus, who previously served as a spokesperson at the State Department, as well as Baxter Lee and Robby Starbuck, from the primary ballot for the state’s 5th Congressional District, state GOP Chairman Scott Golden confirmed to The Hill. As the 2022 primary season begins to take shape, it is important to remember that all messaging from the people within the private club known as the GOP (for selected politicians) or RNC (for membership to support the selected politicians), does not come from some organic coincidence.
Everything we witness as the club enters their season of greatest business opportunity is all carefully coordinated and presented.
Remember, “artful politics is the purposeful creation of an illusion of options for the audience,” and YOU are the audience.
The RNC want to give the illusion of support for MAGA conservatism because they need the base and donor activity. However, every move they make on an operational level is exactly in line with their previous outlook toward cocktail class republicanism. The MAGA base of support cannot trust this group and must not be blind or unguarded about the Machiavellian schemes they construct.
Both the Democrat and Republican wings of the UniParty in Washington DC created and support the Fourth Branch of Government. Political candidates from within the party machinery should be reviewed carefully by voters who must ask themselves are they really seeing an illusion of choice?
At federal and state levels, the party operates as a private club to prescreen approved candidates for their ballots. Nothing about this entire process changes until MAGA people at the local and state level invest themselves to influence the club determinations. In order to change the club, you must enter the club. That requires a serious investment in time and effort. Changing the things you can no longer accept is not easy.
Whether you agree or disagree with the Tennessee Republican club decision, you must ask yourself if you are comfortable with a private club making the decision about who can appear on a ballot. That is the essential problem with party politics, it is rife for corruption, manipulation and the continuation of a political process that never results in the change you may prefer to see.
Conservatives will argue that to run a candidate outside the GOP approval process leads to a split vote that ultimately helps the Democrat party. Ultra-leftists will argue that to run a candidate outside the DEM approval process leads to a split vote that ultimately helps the Republican party. That’s the argument stimulated and promoted by club insiders.
Tactical Civics is the only way to overcome this challenge. Citizens must join the clubs and work to ensure the voice of the majority is represented by the final club outcome, not a filtering process that only keeps the UniParty system in place.
In the past 15+ years, the Communist wing of the Democrat party has done a much better job of tactical civics. That is why the Overton window keeps moving left. The conservative wing of the Republican party, the current MAGA movement, has not been as effective on a local, state and federal level as the Communist wing of the Democrats.
If you live in Tennessee, you might want to ask the state Republican Party officials: what is the intention of blocking choice in a Republican primary? Shouldn’t the primary contest be the place where the voters decide on these candidate filters? If not, why not? What exactly is the intent of club filtration?
Asking these probing questions will likely result in some very uncomfortable discoveries.
It’s your vote, but maybe their candidate. Find out who “they” are.
Good. This will help drive more people to open a second party, to challenge the D-R UniParty. Sanctions have made Russia stronger. Exclusion should make Americans stronger. I have suggested the name, The All American Party.
All that would be needed is for Trump to form a new party and BOOM! The Republican party is dead. Just like that. Democrats and Republicans are BOTH hating their party of choice and each sees the other party as more evil. Pedestrian Democrat and Republican voters would jump to an alternative backed by Trump in a second.
Yes. With Gov DeSantis as an early changeover to the new party.
What’s to stop them? They would very rapidly have a snowballing effect.
Let’s see what old Mitch can do to disrupt that momentum.
That is why there are so many more “independent” voters these days. I have rejected both parties, and still don’t always agree with the “independent” party either….they are too lax about any ‘rules’. Every group (big or small; old or young) need to have boundaries. No free range for people
You have no idea about the time, MONEY, aggravation, opposition, etc, that’s involved in a 3rd party startup.
I was working in politics in 1990, when Perot ran, and knew some of those guys at a high level.
It was bad then. It would be impossible now. We are talking billions and billions.
Amen Amen Amen…….The biggest mistake POTUS has made has not been the bad hires and trusting those around him, his biggest mistake has been NOT starting his own party last year as soon as he left office. Of course, the advice not to form such a party probably came from those around him. Stabbed in the back once again.
With respect, you have no idea whats involved in starting a 3rd party…I do. Been there, done that…Perot.
Astronomically expensive, time-consuming, stressful, etc.
I have a better idea. I’ll write it in later.
Yes, you seem to enjoy telling me that. Any chance all the money there is what keeps it so dirty? Do we know which Reps and Senators voted to make McCarthy and McConnell the leaders in the two chambers? Seems like a lot of GOP members we would need to vote out of a rigged system. That seems pretty easy.
As I said previously, thank you for what you did way back when. Times change. God bless.
The Republican party just did MAGA voters a favor; they identified WHO to vote for.
WRITE them IN, massive campaign to WRITE THEM IN.
Exactly Dutchman.
Start the organizing now for the “WRITE THEM IN” campaign in TN for this district.
Pick one of the three candidates banned by the R committee, the other two can sacrifice and stand behind the chosen one in this situation.
The three candidates banned who chose to stand together outside the party with all of the voters can win this IF THEY WORK TOGETHER.
Use the write in method, campaign together pushing the chosen one of the three who have been shunned by the commie uniparty.
Make a big deal about this and use their “outside” status to win.
Great suggestion!! Not every state allows write-ins, so check first.
I don’t live in Tn-5, but I do live in East Tn. There is election history of a candidates prior primary voting record and residency record to qualify to run. I get my news from The Tennessee Star, not The Hill.
As for the 3 candidates rejected, if you research info, there is good reason to deny them.
In my opinion, they are in the big club!
For local and state Tennessee news The Tennessee Star.com is your best bet.
Exactly…And to tell you the truth, for a candidate not to even understand the Bylaws of the Party shows serious negligence.
Reading and knowing your governing documents, code, Bylaws, etc is critical to success. I have won several elections because I knew the rights and responsibilities as defined in the docs, and used them against the corrupt old-timers.
Be well-prepared. Be strategic and tactical.
We have been down this 3rd party road before and it works out really well for the Democrats, it’s called divide and conquer.
Be careful what you whish for. Now if you are a Democrat suggesting this and you can convince the Republicans to do this you win.
The true Republicans need to purge their party of the RINO’s. The Republican party started as a grass roots party in the 1850’s in The Little White Schoolhouse in Ripon Wisconsin and nobody at that meeting was a RINO.
Before you sabotage the Republican party you need to consider that you will be saving the defeat of the Democrat party from the jaws of victory.
Sounds unconstitutional and Lawsuit worthy to me. nvm, republicans dont fight for anything.
Clubs are distinctly non-Constitutional, yet they’ve reigned unchallenged for centuries.
The Courts have always taken a hands off approach to how the parties conduct themselves.
That is true and it is fine, BUT they should rule that those private groups cannot restrict candidates on a ballot nor which party they align with the most. That seems to be a free speech and election question, not how the parties run their “club”, just how much power those groups have on the entire process.
The taxpayers pay for the ballots, etc and should have more control than two selective and corrupt groups.
Another big farce is the change in many locals to “non-partisan” offices…total BS. We, the voters, need to know which way someone leans whether they are the dog catcher, school board or other position.
They don’t fight, they don’t even stand up for what they supposedly believe in any more.
The Republican Platform is pretty good, but nobody reads it or follows it.
RINOS AND Democratic’s are one in the same.
I’ve begun thinking we should plant some MAGA candidates stealthily into the democrat party. Just as they have done to the original Republican party
Yes.
The RINOs just need to *oficially* become Democrats already.
Several Dem reps have become Repubs.
Why won’t these creeps just become Democrats and leave us TF alone??
Get out of OUR Party!
Warren,…
Well yes. RINO MEANS Republicans In Name Only, i.e. a politician who supports Democrat policies, but runs as a “Republican” in a district that is majority Republican.
RINO=Democrat
Democrat=Conmunist
ergo RINO =CONMUNIST.
what is the difference between a RINO and a Republican???
think hard now..
Morgan Ortagus should run as an independent if for nothing else to see what happens and if the Democrat wins, that is one less vote for McConnell as speaker.
McConnell will NOT be speaker. He’s a Senator. He would be majority leader but I somehow doubt people will vote for or support him in that role.
Too bad they have re & re elected him for eons. Alaskans did the same for Merkowski until she went against everything she was supposed to be FOR… being a republican’t. Maybe she will done for this time…in spite of all he does for her. If one looks at the records of how the people we vote for, we might be able to figure out that they really are NOT for what we want, and maybe find out why (in case they might have a good reason to change OUR minds)
Gee Bob. Since when did Senator Turtle run for Speaker of the House???
Think he paid them to vote for his position. He didn’t ask the people, just the politicians.
He might do that, but only to help the Democrats and deny Republicans a seat. The state party has saved us from one of Trump’s bad endorsements. Morgan is Pompeo’s guy.
She is getting less than 8 % of the vote in the straw polls. Andy Ogles, the Maury County Mayor is running away with 60+ % in the polls.
Tennessee has had a law on the books for years that a candidate for Federal office must have lived in that district for at least 2 years, and she has been around less than 6 months. This is the second time the Rinos have tried to move an out of state person into our district and steal the vote. Just because a certain member of the Trump family talked President Trump into endorsing her does not make her a MAGA candidate.
Thanks for the rest of the story RB.
Sundance has already pointed out that Mc-CON-el prefers minority leader.
I have known Mitch for over 40 years. I can assure you that he prefers majority leader.
Putting aside the merits of what happened in Tennessee, the main obstacle we face is that most Republican voters still believe that the GOP is an actual opposition party.
Well, they’re opposed to us.
I’m not sure “most” still do.
We HAVE seen an awakening of the Sheeple, since the escalator ride.
Walkaway Dems have joined the Trump movement, significant #’s of Blacks and Hispanics the Rino party NEVER would have attracted, are now on board,..
And I think MOST Trump supporters fully realise McConnell, Graham etc are their true enemy.
We really have no accurate way of knowing how many Republican voters reject the RINOS, and how many are still deluded into believing we have a two party (R vs D) system.
I really don’t think its “most” or even close.
I encounter people every day, who are as informed as most treepers, and yet have never heard of CTH.
They followed closely the Canafian Convoy, they know Covid is a hoax, they know 2020 was stolen, with RINO/RNC help, etc.
Just as “once you see the strings, you can never not see them”, once the sheeple wake up, they are not easily induced to go back to sleep.
Actually, I think the biggest awakening was Covid and what these ‘teachers’ did to the kids that were forced to stay at home and “learn” on line and didn’t. All those who were paid to work from home and didn’t do their jobs, or did only what they were told to do — not teach kids.
“There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution which outlines or supports the use of political clubs to create political parties for candidates for office”
On the other hand, there is nothing in said document that forbids it either. If you don’t like the games that party officials play in the primaries then don’t vote for their chosen candidate in the general election, and make sure they know you won’t. Sadly, most voters are ignorant and gullible and vote based upon political ads, MSM propaganda or party affiliation. Political parties know this and exploit it to their own advantage.
Nobody looks at their voting records like they need to do before voting or re-voting for them. They just remember “oh, that’s a familiar name, vote for that one”.
Greedy Old Possums gonna possum.
Can’t risk candidates that won’t play dead.
Possums get pretty lively if you kick them though, so Tactical Civics it is.
We’ve been telling people for years to stop supporting the RNC. Donate TO THE CANDIDATE of your choice…..not to the GOP!!
Problem is…They are all using Winred as their payment processor. Must defund that grifting org.
And Winred is the precise reason I won’t ever again give them even a penny. Donating to Winred is about as useful to the future of America as donating to BLM.
OK! Flip a coin…any coin. Which party is the most traitorous to Americans? Communist Democrats or Republican Rhino’s? Don’t matter because WE ALL LOSE!!
The House Always Wins…
These traitorous criminals hasten their own demise.
All of these traitorous criminals seem to live a long time and die very, very, wealthy. Evil deeds aren’t “done dirt cheap” in DC.
If you want to drain the swamp..
First find out who you are not allowed to vote for..
YES!
Ditch Mitch…………
I think Mitch WILL retire.
However, if his chosen successor, Thune takes his place, it will be like when Ryan retired, replaced by McCarthy.
Same old Whine, brand new bottle.
We need wholesale change in Congress; at least 20 in the Senate that are all Chairing committees, and are Decepticons; Sundance has named them.
Similar structure exists in the House; replacing McConnell with Scalise, changes NOTHING.
Interesting. I don’t think any Rino Senators have or will have the same power, clout and threat of intimidation that Mitch possesses. IF, a large number of PDJT’s “chosen” senatorial and house candidates are successful, then it could be a whole new ballgame – regardless if PDJT is RE-ELECTED.
PDJT wants both Mitch and McCarthy gone. If a newly elected Congress sees a LARGE majority of the public supports PDJT, we can start recovering.
Having “some sort” of non-biased media and big tech outlets will help.
Republicans in TN need to rise up and fight it. Demand that these Tennessee Republican Party people resign. Be vocal until they reverse. Make this a Republican voter “national” rebuke.
Dissed candidates need to file lawsuits.
What can registered Republicans do? I’ve never donated to the state (or national) GOP. What do they care? Even when they lose votes in the general election, which they did in 2012 (lots of us stayed home or went 3rd party over Mittens) they still didn’t care and pushed hard first for Rubio, and then Cruz here in PA in 2016.
If you donated money for a R, the GOP got hold of it and gave it to their own choice – at least a portion of it. Same if you gave to a particular D….they all do the same. The name doesn’t mean a thing unless you can get the money to the person and avoid the group.
Ever wonder why there has been no accounting for the money donated to the RNC to defend Trump in the election fraud?
Dan Schultz has a plan to influence local politics. Link to rumble video: TAKE OVER THE REPUBLICAN PARTY: “The Precinct Strategy” with Dan Schultz

What if we don’t WANT her? As has been said, swamp or no, this was a good decision by the party. She is NOT well-liked and comes across as very arrogant. Why would we fight for that? There’s not even one single redeeming value to her…no thanks!
Looks like the Swamp is winning.
Recall… David Plouffe
‘It is not enough to simply beat Trump. He
must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again.”
So much for an fair election. We’re getting hammered by dems and republicans
Stay tuned for the Red Tsunami later this year. It promises to deliver numerous hearings of feigned outrage………
……..and not a damn thing will be done about any of it.
And I can already hear the banter “Wait until 2024”
Same as it ever was!
At least they cut them off the ballot before the election.
The Texas RNC knew before the primary that Van Taylor (TX-3) was: going to suck up the majority of the votes and second he was going to drop after the primary vote thanks to his fang fang with Ms ISIS Commando.
Here in Texas, Van Taylor (TX-3) went through the primary, sucked up 48% of the vote and the two nearest candidates Keith Self (the actual preferred RINO) 27% and Suzanne Harp 21%.
Taylor did not get 50% of the vote, so that set up a faux run-off between Taylor 48% and Self 27% … Taylor dropped and Self is appointed winner of the no contest Run-Off by the RNC, even though he was not even a close 2nd and Suzanne Harp was a very close 3rd to Self. Suzanne was gaining ground fast after a slow start and it would have been a real dog fight between her and Self the RINO.
I am sure there are other similar stories out there across the US. Bottom line…the RNC is setting up for a repeat of 2018 by putting the B-Team into the game to snatch a “planned close” defeat from the jaws of victory.
Yup, the RNC has a whole range of weopons in their arsenal, to use to prevent MAGA candidates from making it through the primary.
And, if they SHOULD win the primary, the RNC has no problem having the Dem win, rather than the MAGA candidate.
Have you become a member of your local GOP, by joining your local GOP chapter? That’s where the voting power is. If you’re not a voting member, and know your governing documents in and out, then you have no influence.
Gotta get down and dirty, and know your enemy.
I live in Middle Tennessee and in the District in Question. Tennessee has voter fraud problems, Schools indoctrinate not educate, and we have open primaries. The RINOs and Democrats team up to rid the state of Conservatives. We have a super majority of Republicans and all we get is the slow train to socialism. Starbuck, Lee, and Ortagus had 0 chance of winning. Wilson County already had a straw poll and Andy Ogles had about 10 times the votes of Ortagus, Lee and Starbuck combined(some exaggeration). I have heard more Ortagus ads on the radio than all the other candidates . She has money and nothing else. Early on I wrote Trump to tell him to Back a true MAGA candidate Ogles. What we did in Maury County is to have a nominating convention and we have a list of MAGA Conservatives that will begin to make a difference Locally. Ogles was county mayor and opened our economy back up in early 2020, he marched with us against vaccine mandates at the local hospital, he brought jobs to the county, and he supported Trump early on. Ogles is going to win. The Race to Watch is Gary Humble challenging RINO Leader of the State Senate Jack Johnson. Johnson talks right goes Left and gets tons of money from Socialists. If Humble beats Johnson in the primary, you can start to believe that grass roots conservatism has a chance in Tennessee. The article’s premise is correct in general, I just do not think that in this case in Tennessee that it applies. You have made a mountain out of an ant hill on this one. Maury County Conservatives stepped up to make one Tennessee County Conservative.
Good summary…hope it all works out as planned and as you describe.
Here in Texas, the vestiges of the Bush RNC machine are still mucking up the works. I did have hope the RNC was moving in the proper direction after the last Collin County Municipal Elections, when Allan West was actually running the party. That hope went poof quick…with respect to local Municipal Elections when the RNC removed party affiliations for this last election and did NOT put a representative at the polling places. The RNC did even post a voters guide as they did last election. Then there was the TX-3 two step to rig the winner, who only gained 27% of the vote
From what I’ve heard/read, I thought Lee was a good governor, and Tenn a pretty Red state…more GOP than GOPe. It sounds like I’ve got it wrong. Moreover, it explains why a VERY liberal relative & family (who we seldom associate with), bought 10 acres in Davy Crockett’s home town, and are moving there this spring. Moving from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Lee is personally courting California companies. I doubt he was Gov when Nissan migrated from Gardena but I’m pretty sure he has been waving his pom poms for Mitsubishi and Pilot. With those companies come many home grown Cali workers and attitudes. Funny seeing the gay and trendy parts of Nashvegas comingle with the Broadway Tonky Honks and country folk. Long way of saying, Tennessee is getting to be shades of purple.
These three candidates did not have the credentials and did not live in Tennessee long enough to be a good candidate. They feel that all the candidates should be true Republicans and have lived and voted in at least three state primarys. They don’t want someone winning and turning out being a Democrat (wolf in sheepskin). I live in the fifth district in Tennessee and I can see where they are coming from.
They always talk about the “battleground states” but Democrats have a strategy for “safe” Red districts: Run faux Republicans and capture the district that way. Conquer from within. I’m not saying Tennessee’s 5th district is Red, but in this climate it might be.
RINOs basically *forcing* people to establish a 3rd Party w/ this crap.
And they should know>> it’s the Repub Party that’ll be the New Whigs. The Repub Party will be thrown into the dustbin of history when that happens.
They may think /assume that they can #CheatVote their way out of that happening but they will lose in the end.
Why these RINOs don’t just drop the costumes and become Democrats is beyond me>>>> You KNOW you want to guys/gals. Just DO it, already.
If the 3 candidates would have followed the Tennessee Republican laws they would be on the Ballot.
“ What exactly is the intent of club filtration?”
The question is answered and it is not bad.
https://tennesseestar.com/2022/04/19/tngop-chair-committee-voted-to-disqualify-morgan-ortagus-robby-starbuck-and-baxter-lee-from-tn-5-gop-ballot/
So-if this article is true – then shame on those candidates for not getting their acts together.
We’ll see how this shakes out.
Ortagus says she met all requirements.
I just dropped an email to the Republican Party of TN Headquarters. I asked them the very questions Sundance suggested with a little expansion on my part, as a constituent here.
Calling all Tennessee Treepers, please contact them and let your feelings known.
https://www.tngop.org/contact-us
Thanks!
Sent them a seething message! Thanks.
“In the past 15+ years, the Communist wing of the Democrat party has done a much better job of tactical civics.”
Cue the howls of disgust over Rino shenanigans.
It’s not even a contest. The American Right is fecklessness personified.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me a hundred times, I must be an American conservative.
Yep. The American Right (that’s us) lacks the right stuff.
As private entities, political parties can run themselves any way they want to.
The problem is: they are taking public money and using public resources to conduct their primaries.
As a TN resident and conservative Republican, this action infuriates me. All I can do is refrain from sending the Party a single dime. I support individual candidates these days — never the party.
I will send a message to my two Senators and my House member [Mark Greene of the 7th District] expressing my anger at the party pulling this crap. I fully expect to get zero response.
I vote GOP more because they are the only opposition available to the radical Left. It’s a shame that even here in very red TN the Establishment has so much power.
The parties pay the local elections departments to conduct the elections. They basically “rent” the county apparatus to it. Same with presidential and local elections.
While I acknowledge SD’s point about political parties, I’m not going get angry over efforts to stop carpetbagging, either.
I live in Tennessee, and we do have a problem with RINOs, but I believe this article leaves out important context. These people had just moved to Tennessee and were seen as carpetbaggers by many. Andy Ogles, who remains on the ballot, would be as good or better than any of the three who were bumped.
These are legit rules, like you have to be supporting the Republican Party, have voted in the primaries, etc.
Trump’s endorsed candidate is a member of the CLUB, Pompeo’s pick, and one of Trump’s worst endorsements.
You take the oath to get your job and once you break it your job is nullified
Seems that the republican’t party of TN has overstepped their authority & is ripe for a 3:1 lawsuit.
The party doesn’t get to decide who can & cannot be on an election ballot.
I wonder why they let Trump run in their party? Surely they could do the same to him as they did to these candidates.
they kept Trump in the party
so they could still have control over him
and it worked!
Having President Trump running on their party ticket filled their coffers with donations while never expecting him to win. They were so happy and greedy for more money they still pretend to support him by using his name on their requests for donations.
The faux j6 is an end around to hopefully remove his name from any ballot.
Well, no. The RINOS accomplish most of their damage thru STEALTH.
They can’t be TOO obvious, in screwing the base, or the base might catch on.
Outright blocking Candidate DJT, would have been too obvious, so they tried every tried and true trick in their playbook, to prevent him from getting the nomination, and once he did, to prevent him from winning, and “in the unlikely event he won” to drive him from office.
The Insurance Policy was hatched by McConnell and Ryan, NOT Hillary.
I live in Middle TN, though not in that district. The Republican Party is applying the same standard to that race that exists for state house and senate races.
Personally, I’m not too keen on people deciding to move here out of what appears to be political opportunism. If they don’t know how to pronounce Demonbruen Street, they have no business representing us in congress.
By the way, Ortegus worked on Jeb!’s campaign in 2016, so I doubt that she is an enemy of the GOPe.
Sounds like TN needs an official MAGA party.
McConnell is backing Murkowski. He’s already committed $5-7M to her, to destroy her primary opposition.
My recommendation? Vote only for MAGA candidates, in all elections. We can’t turn this around by voting for the Uniparty.
I agree.
I have made, and kept that vow, since 2018.
Watched the State RNC manipulate a situation; McStain died, Flake announced not running for reelection, it COULD have been an ideal situation to get two MAGA Senators.
RNC ran a splitter in the primary, to knock out the MAGA candidate, and I refused to vote for McSally.
Synema won, and to my utter amasement, she has represented me far better than McSally ever could have.
Repeat after me: “I will rip my arm off, before I will EVER cast a vote for a RINO, again!”
That’s NOT ENOUGH. We need to scout, recruit, and FUND MAGA candidates.
We can’t wait around for the party to recruit and bribe, or candidates to self-volunteer. We must search for them.
We MUST have savvy patriots out there scouting, vetting, recruiting, and FUNDING good candidates.
Problem is (and I say this having spent years working on campaigns, our MAGA people are CHEAP).
Candidates need MONEY. If we created a PAC as I mentioned before, with 50% of Trump voters on auto-debit at $5 per month, we would have $200 million PER MONTH to hire good, experienced recruiters (I would use MAGA-oriented professional headhunters, not political operators), groom and FUND THEM.
WE MUST DO THIS INDEPENDENT OF ANY RNC AGENCY. We must compete with the GOPe in quality of candidates and FUNDING.
Create a whole other political organization, side by side with the GOP, crippling them irreparably. And we must do it NOW.
You’re not going to reform this Party from the inside. In Michigan. the kicked the MAGA people off the selection committees.
Your analysis is totally wrong on this issue. These 3 were removed because all 3 are brand new residents of our district, just moved in to hope they could grab the office. The best candidate in this 12 (now 9) person race is the Maury County Mayor who fought the Tennessee governor on all of the mask mandates. You will not find a more conservative anti Wall Street person for the U.S. House of Representatives and Andy Ogles.
Might very well be the case, but that’s for voters to decide, not the party.
But Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, a Republican, returned the legislation to lawmakers without his signature.
The bill became law, but not soon enough to apply to the 2022 primary, the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office confirmed to The Epoch Times.
https://www.theepochtimes.com/tennessee-republican-party-removes-three-candidates-from-ballot-for-us-house-seat_4415802.html
“The requirement does not apply retroactively to candidates who met the qualification deadline at noon on April 7,”a spokesperson for the office said in an email.
“We feel the voters are best able to determine who should represent them in Congress,” a spokesperson for Lee told outlets.
Candidates removed from the ballot by the state GOP offered similar arguments.
Tennessee State Executive Committee members are elected by Republican voters and there is a distinct block on the SEC who are Trump supporting conservatives, several of whom are personal friends of mine. The SEC changed the rules on vouching for candidates because of the in-office GOP clubbers who were abusing the rules. So the candidates who were knocked off the ballot were assessed with objective measures in the rules like actually voting in Republican races as one way to establish your Republican bona fides. We have several candidates who can rightfully own the “carpetbagger” label having only very recently moved to TN but have now decided they want to represent a district in DC. Trump’s pick is endorsed by RINO Dan Crenshaw. One DC based fundraiser was hosted by Lindsey Graham and his ilk.
This law is unconstitutional. States cannot add additional requirements for people to qualify to run for the House or the Senate, the requirements are stated in the Constitution, and this is one of the reasons why the founders prohibited such additional requirements.
If they meet the state requirements, they are still “qualified” to run for office . . .
. . . just not under the GOP Banner.
Founders also said U.S. Senators should be appointed by State Legislatures, NOT by popular vote.
Changed the whole dynamic of the relationship between States and the Federal Govt.
The first lethal blow to states’ rights, 17th Amendment. Then the non-ratified 16th, and the Fed. The trifecta.
The Triple Tap.
Except the “let’s let them all in” approach is going to re-elect Traitorous Ten member Herrera-Buetler in WA3.
Heidi St John is the preferred America First choice, but the party has brought in carpetbagger Portland democrat Joe Kent and “nothing else to do since I got re-districted out” Vickie Kraft to split the vote.
If MAGA is in charge of a party, then by all means only run a MAGA vetted candidate and exclude any others. That’s how politics is, “fairness” is suicidal.
We have seen Demonrat ruthlessness and scorched earth wins. All the demons got in line for flushing Bidet on us.
Isnt this this what Liz Cheney did in Wyoming? She is the ultimate Carpetbagger a la Hillary….
Cheney is from WY…she moved there when Daddy went there so he wasn’t from same state as H.W.
But she has not ever lived there.
write them in
I hate when people post off topic, but the daily thread pretty much dies in the evening. Apologies.
I am surprised Sundance didn’t post this story. Former IC guys are at it again. Amazing, considering the Hunter laptop thing
Edit: INCLUDING Adm Rogers!!!!
Former Intelligence Officials, Citing Russia, Say Big Tech Monopoly Power is Vital to National Security
A group of former intelligence and national security officials on Monday issued a jointly signed letter warning that pending legislative attempts to restrict or break up the power of Big Tech monopolies — Facebook, Google, and Amazon — would jeopardize national security because, they argue, their centralized censorship power is crucial to advancing U.S. foreign policy.
The majority of this letter is devoted to repeatedly invoking the grave threat allegedly posed to the U.S. by Russia as illustrated by the invasion of Ukraine, and it repeatedly points to the dangers of Putin and the Kremlin to justify the need to preserve Big Tech’s power in its maximalist form.
Any attempts to restrict Big Tech’s monopolistic power would therefore undermine the U.S. fight against Moscow.

Speaks volumes. Yeah, off topic for this thread but interesting nonetheless.
Can you write-in vote in a primary?
I would think so.
Depends on your state. It’s in the elections code, and your county Elections Dept should have it on its website.
Wrong thread.
I live in NY in a Red/Republican county that is turning purple/ Dem as more scum from NYC and downstate move to the northern suburbs.
For decades I have been involved with and worked for GOP candidates on the town, county and state level. I was a member of the town GOP “committee” years ago but was forced out way before the MAGA movement.
This past year a dozen of us MAGA Republicans tried to take over the committee so that we could get rid of the RINOs and commit to some great MAGA candidates. Long story short- it didn’t happen.
We were out-maneuvered at every turn, the meetings and caucuses were held at secret locations, the county RINOs changed the rules and even collaborated with the Dems to work against us.
Our first election will be in May for school board. We have one of our candidates on the ballot up against three of theirs. This is not a political party race per se, but in fact the school board leans Left/ Commie.
The line up for November is not looking good- so far not one really solid conservative MAGA Republican will be running locally for county exec or state assembly. There will be a primary for the governor’s race which is most important. Luckily we have three great candidates so any one of them will do a great job.
For the most part, the Republican party stinks. It’s too bad that it’s almost impossible to start a new party.
President Trump needs to purge, purge, purge every chance he gets.
You need to send in a new person, who can act as a NeverTrumper and be your spy. Maybe you can even get him nominated.
The voters in your county/district need to understand what has happened and how scummy this is. Will need door to door talking with people…If you think the voters care. If they do, they will thank you.
The Haslam family destroys everything it touches.
UT Vols football, the TN GOP, Cleveland Browns, Pilot Flying J truck stops….they ruin it all and their influence is as dirty as their restrooms.
The Haslams are true RINOs of the Bob Corker mold.
There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution which outlines or supports the use of political clubs to create political parties for candidates for office. This is one of the lesser-known facets to U.S. elections.
and there is your NUMBER ONE reason why I do not trust Ron DeSantis
he is a club member in standing!
ALL CLUB MEMBERS ARE TRAITORS!
there is zero difference between a RINO and a Republican!
still a Traitor no matter how you slice it!
Bannon is always having that guy on his show encouraging people to become precinct committee chairs. That’s a crock. I tried. After two attempts, I finally was able to speak to the secretary of my local RNC. She admitted to me that there wasn’t a precinct chair in my area and when I volunteered she blew me off. She asked me if I wanted to hand out emory boards at the upcoming poll place. They don’t want their inner circle to be penetrated and Bannon needs to stop telling people that they do!
He’s not saying they want to be penetrated he’s saying just get involved and worm your way into some low level position and work your way up. Do you attend their meetings? That’s step one.
The RINOs will also try to wear you out by “paying your dues”, registration drives, fundraising, phone banking, etc, which will get you nowhere. Trust me.
This is war.
Tell me again why President Trump didn’t form a new Patriot party? Is it because of all the rampant cheating?
I think we missed a prime opportunity to put the UNiparty to rest. Anything is better than “electing” a new crop of good-for-nothing RINOs. Fascists!
MONEY!… He financed his campaign, and that was millions. Do you even know how much time and money it takes to create a new party?
Billions, out of YOUR POCKET. Years of time, unbelievable criminal opposition.
I saw it with Perot. Stop expecting other people to do your job.
Candidate Trump boasted that he spent far, far less than the Demonrat, no, the UNiparty machine, but seventeen contenders later, he still won it handily. And that was six years ago! So much has happened since then!
Do you really think viable political candidates are all about the money? I don’t. One well-placed endorsement and a tweet from Musk should do it.
If it’s too late to start a new party, run on the Independent line.
America is mad as hell and we’re not gonna take it anymore!! 😡
It just might prove to be the biggest blunder in the history of American politics. He was rumored to be contemplating it after the steal. Whoever had his ear on that about face has to be way up Mitch’s backend.
The clown car we call our government will continue until We the People unite and take our country back – preferably with votes but if need be with high speed diplomacy down range.
I just followed SD’s link for the article and Ortegus says she meets all the criteria.
There was a rule in the Bylaws that any candidate had to have voted in 3 of the last 4 primary elections. Starbuck didn’t meet the requirement, nor Ortqgus…Or at least that’s what the TN GOPers said.
They consider Ortagus and a couple others as carpetbaggers.
Not often Sundance and Trump are both wrong! Ortegus IS NOT A MAGA Consevative!!!

There is someone else down on this thread and he lives in the district. He agrees with this decision. There is another candidate who is maga…he supports that person. I think Maga people need to make their own decisons; many of Trump’s endorsements are RINO’s or worse, like Oz in PA..most likely a Dem in GOP clothing. Those who live in the state or district are more likely to know the true story….Trump’s advisors appear to be RINO’s..well I love him muchly but I make my own decisions.
We in Pennsylvania are going to vote the way we want; Kathy Barnette to win!
Awesome, but don’t be surprised when she only gets 11% of the vote.
Is it fair? He’ll know, but trump looks at the numbers and some candidates have wings, some don’t.
Pick and choose your battles
I live in Columbia, Tn and would agree that this is the right decision. Starbuck and Ortegas are recent transplants, and the other guy votes democrat if I understand correctly.
i’m supporting mayor Andy Ogles who has been here all of his live, stood on the line against medical firings over vaccines, pro 2 nd amendment and a pdjt supporter. I know how he moves his feet.
the others have no history by which to judge them, and it’s smells of carpetbaggers..
The flip side aligns with SDs take. The voters could easily weigh who best represents them, but I do worry when outsiders show up with big plans and lots of money.
That would be carpetbaggery😁
I wonder how many people know what that term means?
Me, me, me; call on Me, Teacher!
I am too! The rest (including Marsha Blackburn) are ALL RINOs or worse.
One of old Mitch’s stooges.
Robby Starbuck is MAGA all the way.
Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) / Twitter
Being a Nashvillian for 59 years and following local issues and candidates, I will tell you with certainty we do not need a bun boy, wedding videographer going on a filthy laced tirade when questioned about voting in Tn in the past. He was caught in a lie and could not handle the Truth. And for the girl, she could not even name one of the major interstates running thru the district she wants to represent. Sorry Sundance and Trump, they do not know who we are, what we need or anything about smaller government. We need a strong independent person not dependent on donors outside of Tn. And neither have a strong local grass roots backing. Outsiders need not apply! Move here, become Tennesseans and after years of serving locally then think about running.
I trust the people of Tennessee to make the right decision for Tennessee.
Why would the Uniparty decide to eject her if she was part of the Big Club?
Wouldn’t doors be opening instead of closing?
Wouldn’t the money also be rolling in, if she was on Team Anti-America?
Things may not be, as they appear to be.
Not enough dues have been paid to THE CLUB, they need to square that away first.
There is no “uniparty” at work here – article is misrepresenting what has happened. Our ELECTED state executive committee members, many of whom are committed real conservatives who I know personally, applied the bylaws. The names off the ballot did not meet the qualifying criteria. The bylaws were tightened a few years ago because of the abuse of “vouching” in RINOs and Dems turned R. We have a real problem in TN. Most of Ortegus’money is coming from out of state, she’s endorsed by the likes of Dan Crenshaw and Lindsey Graham among others. Robby Starbuck couldn’t answer truthfully in several interviews about whether he had voted in the requisite number of elections for the GOP ticket, and Baxter Lee actually voted for the Dems in the presidential primary.
She was in bed with Victoria Nuland and Yovanovitch and the Vindman bros. She’s a big fat RINO.
I knew there were more reasons why I don’t give them a dime.
