The UN Food and Agriculture Organization reported on Friday they are recording the highest Food Price Index since they started recording thirty years ago. With record highs in prices for cereals, vegetable oils, dairy and meats
This issue has been a slow burning fuse toward the biggest powder keg in modern history, and it is about to get very serious. We have been warning about it since last fall {Go Deep}. In the most deliberate and painstaking ways possible, we have been urging everyone to take this issue seriously.
The background cause is complex and started with the 2020 government response to the pandemic. U.S. and international government intervention in the food supply process has been FUBAR from the beginning. Every action taken since early 2020 has been one bad policy after another; building failure upon failure, crisis upon crisis, bad decision upon bad decision, bringing us to a precipice summed up by saying “the absence of food will change things.”
Some will say the food prices we are about to experience –and the crisis it will create– was deliberate. Others will say this was the cumulative outcome of major failures on the part of the government. At this point the former makes more sense, and the latter looks like a justification and excuse, because if government entities were really serious about food prices and shortages, they would be taking pragmatic steps to mitigate the problem; they are not.
There are simple things government could do, such as helping farmers offset targeted fertilizer costs, providing relief for diesel fuel and energy costs, and taking other simple steps that would help the agricultural industry.
Instead of responding with the urgency this would demand, the collective government action has been to ignore the problem (talk soundbites), and give speeches about using subsidies to offset the end result (consumers) – without ever addressing the root cause. All this while fueling conflict in Ukraine and chasing radical energy policies under the guise of global climate change.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO) keeps track of food prices and projections using a global index [SEE HERE]. What they are calculating, and what they are projecting based on the current calculations, is a major increase in food prices combined with a major increase in food scarcity due to the unaffordability of food products.
The baseline of 100 is the monthly rate of change for a basket of food products using the period from 2014 to 2016.
The current rate of change is indexing at 159.3, meaning the monthly increases in price are almost 60% higher than the base period. Trying to chart this rate of index is almost impossible, as it seems literally exponential. (red line in graphic)
In 2020, the monthly rate of change increased to an index of around 110. In 2021, the monthly rate of increase went from 110 to around 135. In the first three months of 2022, the index has jumped from 135 to almost 160 (in three months), and there is no end in sight.
The FAO Food Price Index* (FFPI) averaged 159.3 points in March 2022, up 17.9 points (12.6 percent) from February, making a giant leap to a new highest level since its inception in 1990. The latest increase reflects new all-time highs for vegetable oils, cereals and meat sub-indices, while those of sugar and dairy products also rose significantly.
The FAO Cereal Price Index averaged 170.1 points in March, up 24.9 points (17.1 percent) from February, marking its highest level on record since 1990. This month’s increase reflected a surge in world prices of wheat and coarse grains, largely driven by conflict-related export disruptions from Ukraine and, to a lesser extent, the Russian Federation. The expected loss of exports from the Black Sea region exacerbated the already tight global availability of wheat. With concerns over crop conditions in the United States of America (USA) also adding support, world wheat prices rose sharply in March, soaring by 19.7 percent.
The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index averaged 248.6 points in March, up 46.9 points (23.2 percent) from February and hitting a new record high. The sharp rise of the index was driven by higher sunflower, palm, soy and rapeseed oil prices.
The FAO Dairy Price Index averaged 145.2 points in March, up 3.7 points (2.6 percent) from February, marking the seventh consecutive monthly increase and lifting the index 27.7 points (23.6 percent) above its value a year ago. The upward trend of dairy product prices persisted, mainly supported by the tightening of global markets due to inadequate milk output in Western Europe and Oceania to meet global demand. Quotations for butter and milk powders rose steeply.
The FAO Meat Price Index* averaged 120.0 points in March, up 5.5 points (4.8 percent) from February, also reaching an all-time high. In March, pig meat prices registered the steepest monthly increase on record since 1995.
The FAO Sugar Price Index averaged 117.9 points in March, up 7.4 points (6.7 percent) from February, reversing most of the previous three months’ decline and reaching levels more than 20 percent above those registered in the corresponding month last year. [DETAILS]
In the United States and North America as a whole we are blessed and fortunate. We have abundant, healthy and fertile land that allows us to grow more food than we consume. We are a net exporter of food products. However, while we do not have to worry about shortages at the scale of other nations, there will be scarcity.
Additionally, the price increases will hit the U.S. consumer at a lesser, yet still big time significant, scale. The issue in the U.S. will be food insecurity due to massive increases in price. The middle class will spend more of their earnings and wages on food, and people will literally make changes to their food purchases based on these massive increases in price.
In food dependent nations, the scale of the issue will be far greater. In part, this is the reason the southern border crisis will be much more severe this year. We will see an influx of migration due to food availability and unaffordability issues, that is certain; however, that issue is also incidental to the massive influx that is going to happen as a result of the Biden open-border policy.
In the strongly food dependent nations, the food price and scarcity issue has already triggered panic.

We are several generations separated from any time in history where people have worried about the United States having abundant affordable food. Arguably, those under 40 to 45-years of age do not have any reference to the type of food scarcity and food inflation that is coming.
As we have mentioned for quite some time, “the absence of food will change things.”
We are in an abusive relationship with government leaders.
So the Great Reset is working – how will it end?
https://www.bitchute.com/video/F3uLXSFhNBrl/
With Klaus Schwab dangling from a lamppost, for a start.
It would be satisfying and entertaining!
By his scrotum!
Probably hasn’t got one !
There are many heads to that serpent.
Not only him but everyone of the graduates from his “future young leaders” training school, and they are numerous. The WEF website gives a list complete with their pictures, company of employ and position. Some will surprise you.
Patriot ………………… for the sake of time …………………. can you provide a link?
Thanks
http://Www.weforum.org then just explore because it is amazing what they put up there. Kind of like Obama they actually brag about their plans. Also check out the companies who have signed on to the Great Reset.
I don’t think that these people have actually thought this through. Who exactly is going to protect them when the masses are starving? The Police? Hell, people living next to the police will see that they are not affected by starvation, who the hell thinks they are not going to raid their houses for food. When your kids are starving to death you will fight to the end.
Exactly! One of my first thoughts was: will we start seeing grocery cart “jackings” in supermarket parking lots and will home burglaries now target foodstuffs instead of electronics and jewelry?
God knows.
A government obsessed with carbon cannot be concerned about the death of millions due to starvation. Every human has a carbon footprint and so to suddenly switch stance would make them look totally hypocritical.
Bidens summer of death and starvation.
Besides, Biden has much bigger things on his hands. Like for instance the Ukrainian purchase. That is where Biden sells Ukraine to Russia for the 300 billion that was stolen from Russia. Biden has shot his sanctions load and at his age, there is not much load to be had!
Next up, Biden will sell Taiwan to China. Nice gig if you can get it!
We drive out cars on corn for Pete’s sake!
As long as the gas can be siphoned and reversed engineered into tortillas, we are all good.
With 1 or 2 billion dead.
Badly
Shortage of food would’ve been the downfall of the Democrats the only thing that saving them is the rhinos in the Republican Party.
The Declared Dems, as opposed to undeclared Dems i.e. Rinos, could NEVER have taken this Republic so far down the left road, if not for the Rinos, facillitating the leftward tilt, every step of the way.
And business as usual, with House and Senate “flipping” and Rinos doing nothing but holding “investigate to exhonerate” hearings, and writing letters is simply NOT GOING TO CUT IT.
Republicans WILL get the votes, despite their best efforts, there WILL be a “Red Wave”.
And when they try to pull their business as usual bullshit, they will reap the whirlwind, as they expose the true nature of the Uniparty.
Lets not forget their friends in the media 🙂
We have been Romneyed.
SO, if there were no rinos the Dems would know the difference between a man and woman.
I don’t think that’s gonna help.
Maybe President Obama could clear that up for you.
The RINO is like a grain of sand in a boot.
The sole of the boot is the corrupt FBI,twitter, facebook, post office and the D party stepping on your face .
We need to remove the sand , but lt will not change much..
The good news is;
PRESIDENT TRUMP is suing The Dems for racketeering conspiracy over the 2016 election..
and
PRESIDENT TRUMP is working to FIRE the rhino .
The 2022 “Red Wave” will probably be like 1994 and 2010…A GOPe bust
Flip side of same coin.
RINO is just a synonym for “republican” to a conservative.
It’s the Republicans themselves that are confused.
Think about it…
SO, if there were no rinos the Dems would drill for oil and build a border wall?
It took a lot more than a few rinos to steal the last election…fbi,media..twitter
PRESIDENT TRUMP is working to replace the rhinos with real REPUBLICANS.
it is RINOs…it is NOT a jungle animal it is an acronym
Republican
In

Only
SEE how that works
I suspect autocorrect got him, as it does me many, many times.
it won’t if you properly CAPITALIZE the attendant letters as appropriate

The guy who invented autocorrect passed away this week. May he restaurant in peas.

😂!!!!
That’s why I have to reread every comment I make. Autocorrect thinks I didn’t mean what I wrote. Maddening.
It’s a good thing PRESIDENT TRUMP is working to replace the rhinos with real REPUBLICANS.
The Democrat party will get smaller.
what is the difference between a Rino and a Republican ??
I don’t think there is any
Lol, that’s joke, right?
The illegals are pouring in at a half a million per month.
They’ll fit right in with the looters that we already have.
Yea, just think about that number. Putin invaded Ukraine with about a week and half of that and we are getting 100k per week for over a year. Largest invasion force since WWII and no opposition whatsoever! And where is all the ammo Obama bought on 2014 for his civilian agencies?
It’s only effective on whites and republicans.
1 million per mo
When our grocery shelves are almost bare it will be every man for themselves. The Biden plan, more open borders, more people and less food will make BLM riots an everyday occurrence. Remember the 2020 pitch for Biden was “the adults will be in charge “and Biden would “restore dignity to the White House”.
The adults in charge have no interest in protecting our Nation or its people. They spit on us everyday
Family, thanks to me, have been prepared for many years now. I’m glad Sundance exposed and was painfully truthful in what was coming.
Are the “elites”, as they openly call themselves now, rethinking their plans for starvation of much of the world? These riots in Sri Lanka and now in Peru must be making them a wee bit nervous.
There is nothing hungry people won’t do if the choice is between starving or “physically removing”those who have brought another Holodomor down on them and their families. When/or if it comes down to the proverbial ” us or them”, I wouldn’t want to be in the designer shoes of those who think they’ve got this all under control.
the elites will be no where to be found when it gets bad enough, why wait until then?
Exactly they’ve been building luxury bunkers in NA and EU and bug-out mansions in NZ
Don’t worry about about that side of things, the NZ mob have got it “covered”!
Don’t ask how I know !
Evening, friend!
When Kiwiland is kind enough to drag the guilty from their luxury retreats and ha ng them from the nearest ornamental tree, please post video and let us in the 48 states share in the happiness.
Yes Sir, it will be my great pleasure to .
Mungrel i think it would only be fair if we returned the favor and sent you our own a video just sayin . have a good night my friend
R.D.
Ask you how you know what?
nudge nudge wink wink
As my good friend Roy from Arkansas says, “I ain’t got no ideal!”
I hope they enjoy being locked down in their bug out mansions. They won’t be able to travel to their favorite places without retaliation from the peasants. They will be outnumbered. I for one, will not be going quietly. FJB
Hope they have decades worth of food in those bunkers because they will never be able to walk the streets again.
Destination DEN. Underground at the Denver airport. Maid service included.
Dr Malone said the other day it’s time to start doxxing.
Go to the WEF website they are all listed, including pictures, company of employ and title.
Home addresses would be nice…but then they probably don’t have those…because “they own nothing and are happy”.
Good one. But that “own nothing” bit only applies to us non-elites.
They think!
Do kindly remember that doxing is not allowed on this site.
we should of been doxing ever since the scumbags started with it.
how considerate of him…he has known names for some time…
Timing is everything.
They can’t hide any longer. Our communications are much better, we’re everywhere and everybody has a camera.
I asked on of my LEO buddies if they would be willing to bum rush 10,000 “Hungry” protesters. We all know the answer.
that’s why a few weeks back I asked on here that we need to show compassion. I’m not saying feed everyone and run out, I’m saying think twice before you pull that trigger. We are all smart enough to know the difference in scam artist and people who are starving.
we cannot let these so called “Masters” destroy ourselves.
I have a hard time seeing anyone or anything hungry. That said, there is a BIG difference between somebody asking me to share what I have worked very hard for (growing and raising your food takes persistence and a lot of work) and somebody slipping in or walking and taking it. I probably won’t ask if they are a scam artist or not.
Sharing might seem like the thing to do but it can all too easily betray the extent of your resources and your capacity to defend them.
Play dumb, stand in line, use your ration cards in full, tell no one.
First Rule of Prep Club; There is no Prep Club.
Same here, I just got two additional security cameras for keeping eyes on my gardens.
My current Compassion.com child lives in central Lima, Peru. I am praying for safety for him and his family; and there are so many millions more facing this evil in the coming years.
Yes! I have a Compassion child in El Salvador. I pray for her and her family.
Don’t forget to help those who have been calling for the unvaxxed to be fired and put in camps for the past two years.
Thankfully, these days I find it pretty easy to tell the difference between those I would help and those I would not.
I completely understand but my fight is not against people who chose to be indoctrinated, my fight has always been against the corruption in our government.
They are the ones who chose money over America and its people.
The corruption in the govt is maintained by those who choose to be indoctrinated.
Exactly!
Sticking your head in the sand is a choice as well. I’ve seen way way too many folks choose to “not see things.”
In this country, perhaps. In others? I wouldn’t place a bet on whether compassion will be their first concern.
As were seeing now in Sri Lanka, Peru, and more to come. They are from different cultures. And, believe me, they are different in ways that seem foreign to many Americans.
The “elites” have already ruined, even murdered, many with their bioweapons and lockdowns. The job of reducing global populations by those methods didn’t happen as fast or to the extent the WEF, WHO, UN figured they would. Police were brutal heathens in enforcing the dictats of overweening tyrants. Protests have been ignored, or the protesters fined and jailed. I could go on…
In other words, after ruthless crushing of peoples all over the world, my belief is that it won’t take much to set this whole globe into a conflagration. Deliberate starvation, which has yet to reach us, I think will be the match.
And for the record, I read your lovely post, Vote. It was thoughtful and, yes, compassionate. But we are in extraordinary times. We are in an existential war, one like no other. We are the targets, as are our children, parents…all our families. We have to fight this one and make certain the world war criminals are out out of business. Then and only then, we can afford be compassionate to those who wish to exterminate us all…or not.
Here will be ugly – the majority of the population has no skills, no savings, no morals. Then you add in the massive amount of diversity the US could get uglier than most places.
Praying it wouldn’t come to that, LuLu. It has happened in select big cities with. But the whole of the country has never experienced it. Nevertheless, there is always a first time, and I am praying very hard we can avoid it.
“…in select cities with Antifa-BLM” ( left off one of my sentences)…
Parts probably will get rough, if there are no jobs or food. The other variable is immigration. How many once title 42 is gone and most aren’t coming with a year of survival money.
Or phones either, apparently {see Raggedy Psaki}.
Plus they’ve had plenty of practice for the last few years. Those who had no problem helping themselves to sneakers and designer handbags will certainly have no problem helping themselves to food when it gets bad.
I refer to it as worldwide civil war.
I wouldn’t disagree.
World War Xi.
Yes, so do I.
When reading NWO bullshit literature a common theme emerges that they fully expect millions will die fighting them.
They also tend to believe they will win one way or another.
This leads me to believe that they have something else up their sleeves, something that has yet to be revealed, I can only surmise what !
Agree, M. This has been in the works for decades upon decades.
Yes Betsy, after all these years it’s great to see people finally getting “with the program” !
They have a huge head start yes, but my money’s on the rank outside coming in on the straight !
PS, fell asleep will post story next OT.
Cheers
I’ll see you there tomorrow (for me). Sleep is nature’s sweet restorer. So glad you got some. LBT
They are not concerned about the masses. When it gets too bad, the Elites will crank up the 5G and activate the clot shots.
Yes, I know, it’s a conspiracy theory but the theories are batting a thousand.
I actually think it is anything but a conspiracy theory according to scientific papers I’ve been reading. It certainly is badly affecting creatures like bees, driving them off or outright killing them (those near the 5G towers). And that is NOT good.
Orgonite and Crystals. I would suggest doing some research into how electrons can flow in patterns that are harmful, or flow in patterns that are not.
But the real cure would be for communities to have a say in whether they want to be subject to EMF radiation poisoning in the first place…without the government lying to the naive and claiming that it’s perfectly safe.
Oh no kidding it would, Bernadette. But as we have been relegated to useless eater status, and as they actually believe themselves to know what’s best for us all, that is off the table. We’re not in a very good place. But you know that.
And the kicker is, we are paying for our own demise and servitude. Ain’t America grand?
What’s the difference between Conspiracy Theory and Reality? About 3 weeks.
The problem with Conspiracy Theory is that if one piece is wrong, people tend to throw out the whole theory. Bad Idea.
My thought on 5G and the clot shot is that it will react with Crowd Control Weapons, rather than cellular repeaters, but on similar short range frequencies.
That isn’t a flaw, it’s a feature. People will accept anything to eat and feed their families.
I’m in a very fortunate position, Paca, to have never been in that position.
I cannot begin to imagine it. I don’t know what I would accept or not. I have only watched it happen elsewhere. Some have acquiesced and others have not.
For the moment all we can do is watch from our safe (for the moment) perch and pay acute attention to how this is all playing out in other places. May God be with all those in those countries. And let’s pray that wannabe tyrants in other countries, such as Canada, Australia, the EU, and here, are starting to understand that maybe orchestrating starvation is not such a good idea.
WEF depopulation goal is one out of fourteen will live in their utopia.
They DO NOT care if the unlucky thirteen starve. If you don’t starve to death, you will be jabbed with
their poison or erased from the digital currency system they created. All bases covered.
That’s the plan. But sometimes plans don’t happen as…well…planned. Using a baseball metaphor, I don’t know what inning one would say were in, but the game isn’t over. They may succeed, or their whole satanic house may collapse on them. We just don’t know. But this much I do know. I will not willingly walk into the hell on earth they have planned. And I’m praying for God to strengthen me in my resolve.
Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face, metaphorically speaking of course!
Truth! I’ve always loved that short, pithy statement. And I suspect we’ve all been there at one point in our lives. But we sentient beings learn from that metaphorical punch.
The enemies we are dealing with are so full of hubris and evil in the most repugnant sense, I doubt there is a one of them who understands it. The day will come, either here or Elsewhere, when the full import of it will hit them.
I like Mike Tysons quote also.
” Everyone has a plan , until they get punched in the mouth “.
One of my absolute favourites!
Problem is – they’re picking the one out of 14. Thing is…. what made America great is that talented individuals emerged. They were not chosen.
Look at the children of Elites – a significant number are utter failures. Look at many of those who consider themselves Elite. They may stand out in some regard, but are they talented in a manner that benefits society – or do they play a game or act in a show.
The people they choose are not the people they need. That was well illustrated in the Soviet Union.
So very true. They are only elite to themselves and some of the other elites. Think about the Hollywood crowd, politicians like Pelosi and Schumer, women of the view, Wall Street folks and of course the media. None of them could survive a week in a survival situation.
Thus the “immigrants” i.e. illegals. Most are not white collar workers; they are blue collar, manual labor types. You what we’ve been told for years. They will do the jobs Americans won’t. Not required to be vaccinated, no compromised immune systems.
Yes, Americans are being set up to be replaced.
The 3rd Horseman Of The Apocalypse…
Never rides alone.
Just vacuume canned 20 lbs of rice and 20 lbs flour today. Next up, powdered milk and potato flakes. Been buying all kinds of canned goods/meat. Still have a steer on the hoof who’s time will come this fall. Should be getting replacement calf soon and garden has already been planned out and seed purchased. Few more canning jars and I’ll be ready for this summers bounty of vegetables and fruit.
What is your vacuum canning process you’re using? Sounds like you’re all over it. We’ve been experimenting this year with starting our own seeds indoors (don’t have a greenhouse built yet) in trays using my portable LED shop light. It’s working very well. Switching to container gardening too when they’re ready for transplanting (tomatoes and peppers).
A great primer on seed starting in a greenhouse for anyone interested:
Flour needs to be covered with paper towel. 500cc oxygen absorber placed on top with 1 inch head space. Heat lid and vacuum seal with canning jar vac seal adapter. Very easy. Fine powders need to be covered as o the powder doesn’t collect on seal or jar rim
20lbs rice fit into 6 1/2 gallon jars. 20 lbs flour also fit into 6 1/2 gallon jars with 1 pint left over for use soon.
Rice can last up to 25 years. Flour 10 years. Store in dark room, place in box, or wrap dark paper around jars to keep light out. That’s good practice with any canned goods. Light degrades and pull nutrients out. Especially milk. Only vac can low fat milk.
Great stuff – thank you!
Something we’re doing this year too is building some large earthworm beds out of rough milled boards lining with garden fabric to keep them from escaping. Garden scraps and coffee grounds go in and hope to take out the castings for the containers as we go. Looking for a nearby source of horse manure.
Looking for a nearby source of horse manure?
Washington, DC
These days its too toxic.
ha!
old socks work as well to keep light our
Where are you getting your jars? They’re sold out everywhere in my area and the online prices are insane. We quadrupled the garden this year and I’m worried I’ll run out of storage.
Tractor supply, fleet and farm, L&M supply.
Also. Please look up procedures online for safe practices. Not everything dry can be stored long term. Here’s a video to get you started.
Don’t need any but in Mid Fl I have seeen no shortage of jars it’s lids that are hard to find. Prices have gone up about 1.50 a box. That is Walmart and Rural king if you have them.
You can get lids from forjars.com
If you have the room and want to keep eggs for a real long time, then dip them in mineral oil before refrigerating. They will last 30 days without refrigeration and a damn long time in the fridge. The mineral oil seals the egg so the tiny pores do not transfer gasses or moisture.
You can also pickle some eggs and they will last at least 4 months in the fridge. Great for just snacking or putting in chicken salad or on a lettuce salad. One way to prepare eggs for the short term
I have dry canned 25 pound of potato flakes. 50 pound oats and 50 rice and beans. Makes sure you get powder butter, eggs, and powder peanut butter. Peanut butter doesn’t last long as goes rancid. I get the 10 cans of NIDO and dry can
We do not have to remain victims
“We are several generations separated from any time in history where people have worried about the United States having abundant affordable food. Arguably, those under 40 to 45-years of age do not have any reference to the type of food scarcity and food inflation that is coming.”
Shouldn’t that be under about 80?
I’m 57 and have never known a day of hungry. I do believe that day will come.
Planned famine and starvation coming all to soon.
63 here. I’ve been hungry before, but it always followed a period of time when I was lazy. There hasn’t been a lack of food in my life, but I heard the stories of previous generations.
Depends upon how old one was during the Carter years. Those were rough.
Carter now rests easy knowing he is now only the third worst president in out history!
People between 55 and 75 would have experience of hunger and food shortages if the grew up on reservations, the Delta, Appalachia. It was quite common in those areas.
I remember my father being laid off during the Eisenhower admin. We ate from the garden, and Dad was a hunter. Bought little else until he went back to work.
Grew up in E. Tennessee. My parents and Grandparents came through the depression and they taught all of us what families do to prepare.
We spent the spring and summer working the garden; the fall canning and freezing all that we could. Fall and winter hunting for proteins. Deer, elk, squirrel, rabbits, even bear. Always had chickens and cows.
It can be done. Lots of work and planning, but it can be done.
Did it all in our family.
Our farm was self-sustaining, right down to the fish.
We ate it all; quite a variety of meats, poultry, wild game, fish, all kinds of vegetables, fruits, berries, homemade bread everyday, fresh dairy everyday, fresh eggs…you name it…we had it AND my Mom always made a fresh dessert every.single.night for supper. I didn’t like sweets; she nagged so I ate it….
Breakfast was unbelievable: choice of cereals (not from the grocery store), pancakes, eggs, sausage, liverwurst, maple syrup, bacon, ham…
No one was “fat”; we worked it all off. No snacks (unless it was bread & butter)
And we thought we were poor!
My favorites were biscuits and sausage gravy. And homemade apple butter.
We were considered “poor” during those years of growing up BUT I can tell you now that in reality, we were richer than the biggest paycheck earner of IBM or GE in our community.
We knew who we “were” even though we were not “biologists”.
One important part of my life I remember: My Mom and Dad never, ever forced us to eat. If we were not hungry we didn’t have to eat and we were never punished for not eating or “cleaning up our plates”…..But we knew we were not getting anything to eat until the next prepared meal; just a slice of homemade bread and butter and a glass of fresh milk (not pasteurized or from the store).
Spoiled? I don’t think so. Just happy kids with good digestive systems minimizing psychological damage for later years in life.
52 and remember dad shooting squirrels for our dinner when there was nothing else. Also remember mom drifting the old VW beetle down the hill to the gas station for her odd/even day.
I wasn’t very old then but understand things weren’t “good” then. As bad as they probably were then I suspect they will be much worse this time around.
Very grateful to have had 2 grandmothers around who lived through the great depression and taught me how to garden and can food (wish they would have had better luck teaching me to sew).
I was thinking that. I grew up hearing about WW II, rationing and Victory Gardens. Yet by the 1950s that was a bad memory. My mother didn’t keep an extended pantry or even much extra food in the house.
The key to what they meant is the word “reference.” Those of us who are older than 50 had grandparents and perhaps parents who lived during some of the depression, or during the early years of recovery. My grandmothers were born in 1920 and 1922. My grandfathers were born in 1912 and 1915. These people had many, many stories to tell. They are more “alive” and meaningful when told directly by those who lived them, rather than reading about the Depression in a book. Plus, we witnessed the habits formed by living years of scarcity.
A bit off topic…but very pertinent…

Prices are already horrible.
Here in THE Loudoun County some gas station in Purcelleville was fined for price gouging last May 2021.
Some how they have to pay out $6000?
Anyway, that does not mean much really. I am sickened by the prices of food.
Joe Biden is a disaster to this country
The face of a planned disaster.
The reason for his installation.
Fing-JB will be gone very soon . Replacement resident will know and do nothing.
“I just inherited all this, don’t blame me!”. It’s the plan.
The string pullers need to be held accountable. Up close and personal, but “color within the lines”, so they say.

Corn needs the last 3, soybeans needs the last two. Don’t know the margin that farmers pay on top of that.
Grew up in the ’70s. I WILL NEVER EVER EAT BEEF STROGANOFF.
I feel better now.
Grew up in the seventies too. For my siblings and I ,It was tuna casserole. Back when a can of tuna could feed a family of five.
Gawd I hated that stuff.
I did until it started being packed in water.
I could not stand it packed oil.
Neither the smell nor the taste.
Been there!
Yes. Tuna casserole is still terrible for me. My parents also made tuna soup which was a Weight Watchers recipe. I will never try that again.
Home canned grass carp patties at the end of a few months. Very dim memory, but it’s there.
What is “grass carp patties”????
I never heard of that. I grew up in the 50’s, 60’s…and Mom was French, Dad was English/German.
We ate dandelions until they turned to seed. Mom would make dandelion sandwiches w/egg and bacon for my Dad’s lunch.
We all loved them.
Yep, with repulsive green peas in it. Always the dinnertime fight when my dad made me eat that crap
Fresh, from scratch homemade ingredients in Tuna/Noodle Casserole is excellent.
Big, big difference.
I remember my mom cutting up a hot dog or two into a can of pork and beans and mixing in spinach or whatever was ripe from the garden. She would serve dad, then us, and pretend she was not really hungry. They stopped teaching at parochial schools and got other jobs that paid better and offered benefits, but dad still worked 2 jobs for several years. Tuna was a rare treat.
Grew up in South Florida, Dad got payed on Friday so by Wednesday of the following week only food left were the tomatoes we picked and oranges from our trees in the backyard.
Baby El: Not even with Hamburger Helper?
Forgot about the salt in box.
For me it was Hamburger Helper.
Nasty stuff.
bad enough to gag a maggot.
yeah, but Shake ‘n Bake was good
couple of coated pork chops, oven roasted … pretty damn good
Agree! My mom used it on chicken. It made it a whole lot better than the way she previosly pan fried chicken.
Lol… “and I helped”
I remember the one with Loretta Lynn and her twins.
Probably the only packaged product I still buy, love it.
Nope, no beef stroganoff, no tuna casserole, no boiled eggs, no meal cooked to mush in a pressure cooker, and NO LIVER of any type. My parents were great believers in nutrition and liver provided the most vitamins and minerals at the cheapest price, so we had liver at least one night a week, until my dad finally put his foot down and said No More Liver.
my mom cooked liver too AND chicken livers.. gawd I havent eaten them since
Loved it all, especially the golden chicken gravy with fresh yolks in it…back then a stewing hen was an “old layer”…completely different today.
Poultry, and other meats really have no ‘flavor’ due to the way they are raised,(feeding and care) and the timing and way they are butchered.
I haven’t had a really genuine good piece of meat/poultry in 5 decades….or more…that’s when the government decided to become the experts of farming.
And here we are!
When my dad put his foot down he said NO MORE lobster, shrimp, crab, mussels or clams.
That’s what they had to live on during the Depression………………
In the 60’s liver was served many days of the week in the Army! I hate liver!!!
Ahhh…yes, fresh liver from the recently killed/butchered beef, calf, pig, lamb BUT never, ever from the deer Dad killed…because the deer did NOT have a gaul to filter the “bad” from entering the liver…true story.
I cooked venison liver, after I was married and it was devine! And I lived! I didn’t get sick! But my Dad would never eat it!
Thanks for the smile. I was just thinking I wlll have to look up those casserole recipes for later this year.
I grew up in the 70’s too…I remember my mom would make a big batch of spaghetti, we would eat it 4 or 5 days in a row for dinner. My father had a job ( mom was stay at hone mom) and dad had to take a 2nd job as a security guard ( nights and weekends) for extra $
Good!
It’s a Russian Dish, ya know and no one wants to support PUTIN/Russians…/sarc.
In 1978 there was a stretch where we ate nothing but frito pie. Never Again.
I made a quick trip to Also yesterday and noticed a lot of increases. Half gallon of organic milk up 50 cents, 1/2 pound of basic cheese up 25 cents, sugar up 38 cents on a 4 pound bag, etc. I can handle the increases and I have food at home. I feel sorry for those living on the edge and especially those with kids.
As far as supporting local farmers? A two quart basket of local strawberries is $22 this year. Last year it was $17.50 and closer to 3 quarts. I’ll still buy from them, but not as many baskets as last year.
I bought 18 count of large eggs last week at Wal-Mart for 2.53. Today they chose me 4.09 for same eggs!😠
Cost me……..sorry.
bought a gallon of whole milk last night at $6.29
entire racks of another brand were $8.29
Honolulu
Mahalo!
I’m mahalo it was only $6.29 …. probably the last at that price, the rack at $8.29 was probably the next increase, the newest rack
Prior time I looked, a gallon was $4.something
Wow!! $3.24 here in NC
lucky you.our walmart has no eggs period.and with the bird flu going thru the chicken and turkey flocks its gonna get ugly real fast.our local grocery chain had eggs 2 weeks ago for .99 cents a dozen, today 3.29
Are you in NC??
Last week I went with a friend out of town and went to one store that had eggs for $.69. I didn’t really need any, but that was so cheap I had to buy a dozen.
How did they get the same eggs?.lol…
Yes. Abusive is putting it mildly. We need to take them down.
And provide for ourselves and also support all our existing food producers.
Westerns politicians are going to be shown to have contributed to millions of unnecessary deaths without declaring a war or firing a shot but by perverting justice. The tragedy is that people have foolishly chosen these people to be their leaders and they, their children and grandchildren will have to bear the consequences.
No. They did not choose them. Our choice was stolen. Now we have other choices to make.
Gipper, Yes it was! And until a lot more folks figure that out (which won’t happen until they either stop watching “the news” and go online to websites like CTH, Patriots.win or Podcasts like Bannon’s Warroom, etc) this downward spiral will continue.
We are the only country with enough guns to take out these evil POS and put our elected President back in the WH who could fire and remove every POS that is destroying our country because he has THE MAJORITY OF WORKING CLASS PEOPLE BEHIND HIM. If they try to defy him, we DESTROY THEM.
Let the Leftist scum, the moochers, the REAL RACISTS burn their cities down until there’s nothing left of it and THEM.
Then we, America’s workers, white, black, yellow, brown as well as legal immigrants who paid to come to this country and took the oath to have a better life, will rebuild and MAGA!
As for the UN forces that try and stop us…….bring it on!
I like your plan.
Yes tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of Africans will die. They want that.
I just purchased another floor freezer (7ft) this week and will be filling it with beef, chicken and shrimp. To top it off, I also ordered 2 more grow tents for home to harvest veggies. Normally, I use a community garden year round, but fear the gardens are going to get pillaged by bums looking for free food in light of what is going to happen. It’s a real shame ’cause I can produce approximately 300 lbs of Yukon Gold potatoes from a single 3′ x 20′ plot in just a few months.
Progressive Democrats are going to hang if food famine comes to the USA, there is no excuse for it happening.
The freezers are great (my family has three) until the power goes out.
My wife and I have been doing all that for years plus, freeze drying all fresh eggs, vegetables, potatoes and anything that won’t spoil in case of power outages.
we made sure to cover our a$$es the best we could.
I built a freezer backup power supply with an inverter/charger and a 12v deep cycle battery. It will run 18 to 24 hours and could be recharged via solar in a pinch. You have to oversize the inverter a bit for the freezer motor
I used a 750w for my 4 ft freezer, may need more power for a 7ft. A 600w pure sine wave did NOT work on my freezer, but did work for the sump pump
Amazon link won’t work. Search amazon for tripp-lite 750w inverter
I stock enough jars and lids to pressure can the meat and other items. BTDT
Then the crisis canning starts….. if you have gas.
Get a generator!
They didn’t last time.. In ’32 they elected a Progressive President. He served three terms and won a fourth.
I don’t think the FAO is being accurate when they say it is a measure of the monthly change.
They average the prices of the reference years, then they take the ratio of today’s prices to those averaged prices, and the average those ratios.
So an FPI of 160 says the food price averages 60% higher than the reference years.
This allows an estimate of the monthly increase. (Or yearly).
So there was an increase in prices from Feb to Mar of this year that is about 20% of the reference prices from 2014-2016.
The index itself increased about 14% from 140% of the reference to 160% of the reference. (Numbers rounded)
Georgia guidestones reduce global population to 500 million.
When your enemy says they want to kill you. Believe them.
I believe! I believe!
They really didn’t mean that. /s
That mystifies me as well. Somebody tells me they want me and mine dead, and they take the time and money to erect a massive granite monument attesting their desire, you’ve officially got my attention.
Don’t turn back on crazy that lean towards fanatic.
They have a sick twisted satanic sence of humour,
Like a burglar leaving a calling card !
I predict this debacle ends with the people ‘seizing’ all the farm land purchased by Gates, Buffett, etc over the past several years. I have zero doubt these morons are in league with the Progressives/WEF and honestly believe they are going to use food to blackmail the population into capitulation.
Remember, these morons think you are going to eat insects.
As fa as I know that land is still in production.
China has purchased quite a lot of the American farms.
Gates is not the biggest farmland owner. By far. He does oen a lot. But not the biggest.
https://www.agriculture.com/news/business/2021-land-report-who-owns-the-most-land-in-the-united-states
Holodomor 2.0 is coming.
Check out the movies “Bitter Harvest” and “Mr. Jones” …
Just one problem.
They haven’t disarmed all the people in the US they want to starve and are creating a situation where the consequence of doing nothing is to watch your children starve to death.
How many parents would kill if it meant saving their children from death?
How much easier would it be too when the WEF crew are also such unsympathetic scum bags and their actions utterly heinous?
Big Ag is big corporate business. When they can get xxx+ times the price for their product selling overseas – will they think of America first?? Just a thought
There is no patriotism in our corporations. Only seeking the highest price for commodities sold.
Those ships haven’t sailed yet..
Well, just about everything is likely to worsen in an excellerated manner.
The increasing price and looming scarcity of food is only one factor.
Every one that can, should plant a Biden garden and raise a few chickens. We the people can beat them at their own game.
I honestly thought that the current administration was installed by the CCP for the purpose of taking Taiwan. However the actions of the Idiot of the North (Trudeau) and the Idiot of the South (Ardern) have given me pause, since every western “democracy” reacted the same way to a bad flu season and is now facing the same horrific inflation numbers after shutting down their economies and printing a gajillion bank notes. Maybe it wasn’t the CCP (alone), but rather the Schwab/Davos crowd controlling the lightweights they have installed as leading the western governments and trying to install a new world order with them in charge. Do they really think that we would go “quietly”?
I’m out in the sticks surrounded by farms and local produce stands. The mud season has been rough this spring, but preparation has started for the growing season. Most of the land area in the US is similar, I imagine, those cities will be in trouble in the coming months. Absence of food will change the dynamic, and I believe will open the eyes of those whom it affects. If that penny drops and average people realize the depth to which they have been deceived, there will be hell to pay.
Our Deep State Occupation Government is partners with the Chinee Politburo. They built the Virus/Vaxx together. And they oppress the Peoples together. The Uni-Party writ large.
I think China will try to purchase the leadership of Taiwan instead.
It sure worked in America.
I rototilledmy garden today. And I’m in Maine!
2020 made Alex Jones seem plausible, reasonable and well thought.
2021 told 2020 to hold it’s beer.
Apparently 2022 will be the year the Mormons win the rationality award.
Strange times… Indeed!
There is good reason to believe that this bird flu that has required millions of chickens to be slaughtered is either faked (PCR test) or a product of a Ukraine biolabs.
Erring on the side of choice A: it’s a deliberate creation of food shortages.
Let’s say that weather geoengineering is real. We know it is, at least in part, because the UAE made it rain and bragged about it. A certain multi-day hurricane getting stuck over Houston also comes to mind in a suspicious cat sort of way.
Here’s the thing if I’m a farmer: when do I plant?
Because if the tender shoots are coming up an sudden Fabian produced Texas deep freeze wipes out my crop, not only am I wiped out (except crop insurance), but food shortages get that much worse.
I’m not a farmer, just a gardener, but I ponder when to plant that’s going to be secure but not too late to get a good growing season in.
i live in n.w. iowa ,we have huge egg laying farms and turkey farms, and on the local news they are blaming migrating birds for spreading the bird flu.i told my wife thats b.s. and that i bet there is sabotage involved to raise the prices and thin the flocks.
Yes, see Dr. Sherry Tenpenny’s book on bird flu (read the reviews on amazon and you will get the idea, book title is Fowl! Bird Flu- It’s not what you think). I’ve also heard they are using the PCR test. Bottom line- the agenda is to create a famine and to starve hundreds of millions/or a couple billion out. They are doing this deliberately- just use the PCR test and you can create the illusion of a pandemic.
Over these years (2015-to date), CTH along with Armstrong Economics a maybe 4 more have been spot on as I frequent more sites domestically and internationally than anyone I know. I’m asked all the time “Where do you find the time to study as much as you do?” Knowledge! Is my answer.
CTH has absolutely been the most vocal, on point and instructive site I can honestly say exists, there are many out there, I should know, but Sundance is bar none the best.
Cheers Sundance!
Mike Adams yesterday was reporting that people were telling him the government had told the railroads to cancel contracts to haul feed grain and that we were days away from the dairy herd being culled. Devastating the nation’s dairy heard for years to come.
Then there’s the “bird flu” found with PCR tests that they are planning to respond to by culling millions of bird and vaccinating the rest. The thing is the US always said vaccinating against bird flu was a very bad idea – what’s changed? Are they trying to destroy the chicken supply too?
I think it’s clear they are trying to cause food shortages.
Every famine always government created…
British/City of London bankers are very good at orchestrating famines:

Once a herd of cattle is culled it takes around 8 years to fully come back to its original size give or take.
It’s a long process unless you have mega bucks to burn.
Lulu: Just my personal interpretation, but, “people were telling him” is as good as “never happened.”
Mexico will be OK. The president loves the Viviane the country is still 96% Catholic/ Christian.
All bad news aside, my darker side cannot wait to see hipster Millennials and Gen-Z’ers crying like little babies after they discover all the cheap eats they grew up on are gone.
I’ll have no sympathy for them since they voted for it.
those dehydrated noodle cups and packets of dried ramen
rude awakening when they find them priced the same as their Starcracks half-caf-decaf-mocha-extra-sugar (but they’re not aware there’s any sugar in it because “it’s mocha” …)
… on the order of $7 bucks a pop
nimrodman: Don’t give Starbucks any ideas. They’ll start serving ramen noodle frappachinos.
Ewwwwww! 🤣
Avacado toast – $14.99
I guess one could say; “No shit Sherlock”
What was it Rush would say; “wizards of smart”. Perhaps by pedigree they are our best and brightest but, in the real world these are functional illiterates they know what they’ve read in a book. Doctrinaire to the bone this is the kind of brilliance that doesn’t wipe themselves without instructions from HQ. It’s almost as if it was intentional, hmm?
Good Lord! Thanks UN…Duhhhhhhhhhhhh,,,!
Sure miss that man.
The globalist international banking cartels are the real culprits, Communist by nature, Eugenicists by choice.

Yes, I agree!
Here’s what I posted above:

https://themillenniumreport.com/2015/06/irish-potato-famine-was-deliberate-genocide/
According to historian Chris Fogarty,
the “Irish Potato Famine” which killed over five million people
was not a famine but a deliberate British policy of starvation similar to the
Holomodor in the Ukraine in 1932-33.
History is a big lie told by the victors. The illuminati have almost perfected rewriting history to suit their own agenda.
Cheers Amanda,
You definitely know your shit, most of the above I Already know but great information for any that don’t.
If you havn’t already look up ” The greatest story never told” I researched its authenticity and found it factually correct.
Cheers again.
Be careful Mungrel you hit the nail on the head so the WEF apologist will come out and tell you that it ain’t so.
The sooner We The People get this straight the sooner we run the true villains down, most reside in Switzerland.
On the garden front, last year I grew Tomatos, peppers, and onion for spaghetti sauce. Carrots and onion for stew, and snow peas to go with rice.
My plan is to grow veggies that complete a meal or comprise a large portion of the non-meat essentials.
All that plus potatoes.
And green beans. Easy to freeze.
muh taters failed last year. Getting ready to try again soon.
Are potatoes hard to grow? I was thinking of giving them a go this year……
Very easy to grow. Try a grow bag.
Hmmm never heard of that but I will look it up. Thank you!
Yes, very easy to grow. The one thing you need to make sure of is checking the moon signs prior to planting. Anything grown underground, potatoes, peanuts, carrots, onions etc. plant in the going down of the moon. Anything that grows above ground corn, tomatoes, peppers, beans etc. plant in the new part of the moon.
Some think it’s “old wives tales” but your yields are better. When in doubt find a Farmer’s Almanac.
My grandfather, an old farmer in North Florida, told me this decades ago, and I’ve always used it with good results! Same goes for slaughtering meat, having surgical procedures done, many applications.
We have land but it is on wrong side of the mountain, to quote my husband. We are able to grow squash in a small section and I would recommend growing both butternut and acorn. It is easy to grow, good producer, storage is easy in cool place for most of winter, and has good nutrition.
At this point the progressives can tell 3 lies at once, all contradictory, and be outraged if you disagree.
They do want people to starve to death, and yet, they are sure their diversity placements and policies will bring miracle and wonderment for all.
Above all else, they are sincere and to be trusted. Even their lies are true.
It is like listening to a Jodi Arias interview at this juncture-to hear them speak.
Walgreens rationing Baby Formula
……” A national shortage of baby formula brought on by pandemic-related supply-chain issues has forced US retailers such as Walgreens to ration the all-important product.”……
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10701087/Walgreens-starts-RATIONING-baby-formula-supply-chain-crunch-hits-new-parents.html
“pandemic-related” my ass.
Pretend its fentenyl, Joe. Then we’ll have PLENTY.
This doesn’t end well for the vast majority of Americans, that is a given.
Especially the one’s in heavily populated urban areas.
In urban areas, people order fast-food via door-dash using EBT cards. When that collapses, it will be EPIC. Many people in those areas are completely non-self-sufficient.
Totally agree. They have no survival skills or instincts whatsoever. It would be a human catastrophy.
Lol! You are correct. Those urban and suburban denizens have been conditioned for decades to be dependent on someone else.
Cannibalism will become all the rage!
no the gov’t will confiscate your stuff and distribute it.
Exactly.
Neighbors taste like chicken.
To starving people everything tastes like chicken.
Right! From what I have read, in urban areas there is at most a weeks supply of food available at any one time.
The supply line is cut for a lengthy period, get ready for ugly!
…why some people live a few miles past where the bus and train lines end.
The feral gangs will loot all the stores on the first day. And after a dozen or so food delivery trucks get hijacked and their drivers shot, it’s going to be tough to find drivers that will take that load in. The gangs, having scoured everything in the city, will then turn their loving attentions upon the suburbs. Then on to the rurals where, at least here in Texas, the “shopping” trips might prove to be a little more…challenging for the ferals.
I think the gubberment will call those; “mostly deserving peaceful shoppers”, not looters!
So stolen elections in the USA. Crippling the US oil and gas industry. Open borders, rampant crime in Democrat controlled cities. Shutting off water for irrigation in some of the most productive farm land. A manmade pandemic, forced inoculations with experimental pharmaceuticals. Could these things cause worldwide inflation?
The Bungles Biden Gang of nefarious misfits are doing everything they can to destroy the worldwide economy and cause WW3.
Remember Einstein once said that he did not know with what weapons WW3 will be fought, but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones.
How will the evil dems provide for all the free lunch programs in their big blue cities?
easy … with YOUR money
…and your food.
They will come collecting.
… and your housing
“Got a nice three bedroom house here. We have four families scheduled to share it with you.”
Very few or none of us have ever seen genuine supply scarcity in the USA unless we were alive and aware in the 1930s (Depression plus the Canadian-American prairie Dustbowl). Rationing in WWII was not due to producer shortages but rather from diverting food stocks to the war machine.
at my workplace one time we had a lunchtime speaker who had a “generational” thesis about behavior and outlook
talking to an audience of mainly boomers at the time, his main thesis was the difference between us and our parent’s generation (WWII) who grew up thru their childhood during the depression
showed many illuminating differences, all of which I forget now but can probably be searched in the internets
the one indicative one using my Mom as an example is that she’d wash soiled aluminum foil in the dishwater and put it in the drying rack for re-use
I’m sure all y’all boomers have that same story about your mothers and other stories as well
Yes. My mother had several economizing habits around the house that were spawned in her modest income home growing up in the 1930s. I don’t recall her re-using foil, but back in the 1950’s foil WAS a lot thicker than it is today. What I do recall was that we did not have a throw-away society until the last 20-30 years of the 20th century and later.
Growing up I can stay that we did not have much “snack food” around the house. We ate 3 modest meals a day and that was all, other than an infrequent treat of popcorn that Mom made on the gas stovetop in a Revere stainless, copper-bottom pot. She did not like JiffyPop. 🙂
AND the popcorn was made only on Friday or Saturday night; if we were good and the kitchen was all cleaned up to Mom’s satisfaction.
There were 9 in our household (and add 1 or 2 more for friends staying over), so Mom would make it in a huge pot on the wood stove (then later a gas stove) and put it all in a big “turkey” roaster…with homemade butter of course.
Our popcorn even came from our fields….seriously!
What a lovely, idyllic childhood!
When the recycling scam hit the world; my first reaction was: Recycling? We’ve been recycling since the day I was born.
🤣🤣
nimrodman: I wash soiled aluminum foil now. The stuff’s expensive. Especially the heavy duty version.
My father was a Depression baby, born in 1930 in New York. He was a master at reparing, re-using and re-purposing. He once used a bolt and nut to repair a broken rubber strap on a flip flop. He used to take me the town dump to scavenge for useful stuff.
I don’t use much foil, but I wash out and reuse freezer Ziploc bags.
Very few paper towels also!
One of the sad changes in the last 10-15 years, most of the old repairmen, the ones who repaired toasters and irons, sewing machines, and other electrical appliances have been closing their shops or dying. These are the people who can fix furniture and just happen to have a piece of oak they can turn to make a new chair leg that broke. They are the mechanics who can machine a part that is no longer available. People have preferred to buy new rather than get their possessions fixed, plus parts and equipment have gotten expensive.
I’m doing the same thing now! Reynolds rap is $10 a roll or more.
May 4, 2023. Rationing makes a comeback with a digital ration card.
If not sooner.
I think Christian/Ice Age farmer said in a recent video that from his FOIA requests, it looks like they plan on rationing food and that you will need a digital ID to get food (so you have to willingly sign up for their digital slave grid to get food)
Do you know which of his videos said this? I feel sick to my stomach…….
And only for the jabbed. I’m planning my first garden and just purchased a pressure canner (wish me luck with that!), and upright freezer. May God Save America!
My Mother still has a couple of ration books that were my Fathers when he was a kid. Each family member had x number of coupons for items you could purchase.
Never saw ration books but I recall my mom’s S&H Green Stamp books!
They hate us.
I hate them too.
With a passion!
You betcha, and how!
Good.
https://modernfarmer.com/2018/06/three-sisters-garden-planting-corn-beans-squash-together/
Some large scale depopulation I didn’t cause wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Some large scale deporting and ten year moritorium on immigration on our nation’s part wouldnt be a bad thing either!
If only!!
I’ve always had a good pantry. As prices have risen, and I’ve seen the writing on the wall, I’ve worked on increasing it.
That’s not easy on a limited income. I’ve changed how we eat so that I free up money to buy more quantity. (More beans, less beef).
Having a large well stocked pantry is really cushioning price increases. There are still sales and by cooking from scratch we are eating pretty well for a fraction of a lot of people.
I’m keeping a low profile, I don’t want to share my beans and rice with people who have been living high on the hog and only now are waking up.
Agreed. I’m trying to figure out the best way to keep my looked veggies and berries from being seen by people in the side street about 80-100 feet from my street level back deck where they are growing. Now that the days are longer, I think I can pull them from the edge of the deck closer to the house where the screen porch and the neighbors house will help block the view.
What is said to be -inside- those now high-priced foods?
.

RFK Jr. is all over this subject and has been for years. His site is full of good info but gets smeared continuously by Big Ag, Big Pharma and the media slaves…
His getting smeared means he is on target!
Exactly
They will force the “Digital ID” for to by food rationed — this is the plan and why they want this all to happen
The all purpose for all things Digital ID is coming!
You can’t leave home without one.
The conditioning process has been going on for years!
Another thing to consider is that with the border open and unregulated, thousands upon thousands will be attempting to enter which may impact food prices, in some categories.
Besides being new democrat voters ?
Besides a young males that can be conscripted into a military force to police the population, willingly, in order to receive their “freebies” ?
Besides a population that can be used as an excuse to redistribute your wealth for their “needs” ?
Besides a population that can be used to create more chaos and balkanization ?
Besides a population that contains criminals and terrorists ?
Besides the associated human and drug trafficking ?
Notice nobody is testing or jabbing the invaders……well aren’t they special? /s
I told one of my big-tech aquaintences, 5 years ago, that if they continued on their present path they would be burned. He smiled, I said literally, as in dragging people out and burning it down. He looked shocked, as though that consequence had never occured to him.
Intelligent chap, but utterly clueless about the tenuous reality of civilisation and how quickly that veneer can be rubbed off by threatening peoples basic requirements or demeaning them.
Yes…we lived through Katrina.
Experienced/watched a gorm of societal breakdown.
It’s not pretty!
If there are food shortages at the Market, AOC says to try DoorDash.
Why does USDA need to have 400 million pounds of butter in storage?
Wheat harvest starts next month. We have 2 years supply before harvest?
Our exports will be up.
The US has 2 billion pounds of cheese in storage. Give it away.
My mother worked for Los Angeles County in the 70s and 80s. Once in awhile she would bring home five pound slabs of cheese from the county’s low income meals program.
The county would sometimes have excess cheese it couldnt use before it went bad, so they gave the surplus to employees if they wanted it.
Many moons ago when I was very young and dirt poor, I got some of that cheese. MAN was it good! Best grilled cheese sandwich ever. Even better if you can let it “age” a few weeks in the fridge. One of the few bright spots of being poor.
I grew up in the 50s. My parents lived through the Depression and they met in a restaurant, both being cooks. Then they proceeded to have 12 children in short order. A lot of mouths to feed with not very much money to do it with.
Many big pots of rice and beans but one of them made some form of bread daily.
In the 60s we got government commodities and we were in heaven. Great cheeses, butter, dried milk, Peanut butter canned meats cracked wheat flour. We ate like kings off of Government surplus food. Nowadays people who are on food stamps don’t even know how to cook. If we had to go back to government surplus food they wouldn’t know what to do with it.
What is freaking amazing is that people are shocked when they get the total when they check out. I keep a running total to know were I stand.
They are still buying the same things as always, because it’s easy. We’d love to have a beef roast this week, but instead it’s ten pounds of leg quarters which is $8… Instead of $8 a pound!
I do the same. I’ve been buying large packages of beef stew meat and freezing them in 1 pound packages. Then I use an onion and some garlic and some homemade stock to start a meal I can eat for a week. Maybe mushrooms and barley are added to the beef, maybe shredded carrots and wild rice, whatever my creative spirit comes up with that week. Beef stew meat is cheaper than hamburger these days.
“…both being cooks….they proceeded to have 12 children in short order.”
LOL. I see what you did there.
Big Guy thinks food prices are getting better, to the extent Big Guy thinks. Billy “Vaccine” G thinks so too.
Lol. The Big Guy has no capacity to think.
He has staff to do all of his thinking.
And tells him what to tell us what he “thinks”.
